They share the same radio frequency, like most laptops do.

Is there any fix

You use one at a time only? Since they transmit via the same radio channel. The same applies to laptops aswell.

There are a number of cheap usb wifi adapters that can double as access points.
I'm guessing you have a laptop with mobile internet?

I have wifi at home but at work, I get no signal (data or voice) and wondering if I can connect via USB. I don't have wifi at work.
Yeah they'd probably have issue with you wirelessly broadcasting their internet.
Bluetooth however would work and is cheap. And won't interfere with the network at all.
I've read else where on xda that people have gotten it to work, but the only instructions were for linux, and I got a feeling your work computer is xp.
How easy? Alot depends on the operating system and bluetooth adapter.

Are any of our devs fapable of making an app for this?
So we can use the headphones to hear music, and use the mic to talk when we get calls

Does it use bluetooth? I don't see how we can connect to the headphones since it uses a usb adapter to connect.

"Also, it’s not bluetooth, so you can’t just pair it with your PS3. Instead you must use a USB dongle to connect the device via 2.4GHz RF band."
Does tge phone have RF?

Bluetooth question

Maybe I'm retarded or the rom does not support it.....
My HP tp on cm7 and my android phone. Want to pair them and connect. I can pair, but not actually connect. Any thoughts? Or is it a system.limitation on android on the HP?

I also had same problem with my last android phone.
Sometimes it is possible that bluetooth devices are not compatible.
I had a motorola which I wasn't able to connect it to my Macbook Pro...
I hve Samsung galaxy 2 for T-Mobile and on web os it connected.
It depends on what you are actually trying to do. My phone pairs but doesn't "connect" but when I send a file through bluetooth, then it connects accepts the file and then disconnects.

I wanted to do.the text messaging on tablet while connected to the phone. Like I said on webos it worked. Android side not so much. As for file transfers I haven't seen that work yet

As far as I know android doesn't have this built in by default. You need an app to do that. I use DeskSms on my phone to do this.

Mine pairs but says it doesn't connect. When I share a file through bt to the tp it accepts it and transfers.

Weird router issue

I have a strange problem with the wifi speed on my prime and any wireless device for that matter. On my hard wired PC I can get over 100mbps but on my wireless laptop and prime I get a Max of 2.03mbps. Has anyone else expirienced this or knows how to fix it? Thanks

Had the same problem. It is an issue with the WPA2 protocol. Try WAP only and you should be fine.

Did that result in better speeds?
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using xda premium
Yes. I was seeing the same problem on my Droid Incredible and both of our TFP's. As soon as I switched away from WPA2, I was getting the same speeds as my laptop's. The odd thing was upload speed was unaffected but DL speed was kept around 2mbps
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using xda premium
I just switched and the speeds didn't change. Maybe its my ISP.

What router are you using? Mine was a Netgear. Also try disabling encryption all together and cycling your router. I assume you used SpeedTest on your TPS as well as on your laptop/desktop to determine speeds?

I'm using my brand new net gear N600 dual band router.

You may want to check the netgear forums. I have heard lots of negative feedback on that router because of firmware.

With the pure fact your Wifi is effected on your Laptop but not your PC that is hard-wired connected does point to either the router or wireless reception in general.
Do you notice any difference in speed if you place yourself directly next to the router but as you wander further away the signal decreases in strength?
If so you need to look at a lot of possible issues:-
1. The router itself ~ try using a different model.
2. Interference ~ this can really hamper and slow wireless reception somewhat. Check what other equipment you have in the vicinity that also uses the wirless protocol. You could have another piece of hardware interfering with your reception.
I had an issue where if I stood in one particular place in my home my wireless signal terminated. I found the problem was to do with my Microwave cooker when switched on was interfering with my wifi signal.
3. Walls ~ a wall will absorb wireless signals. The less walls the better. Also don't believe just because I only have one wall I should be okay. It matters how thick the wall is and if there is any electrical or other material placed inside the wall.
There are other things you could check but this is a good starting block to go with.
I've found that channel interference can cause these kinds of issues.
Check out the Market app "Wifi Analyzer", it displays all the AP's in your vicinity and if they're overlapping each other.
I switched a friend's router from auto to channel 11 and her speed tests quadrupled.
But radio communication is a complicated beast...
Found the issue. My ISP is only giving me 2.00mbps. Looks like I'll have yo upgrade that. The 100+mbps on wired connection was the "theoretical speed" I think its called. I ran a speed test on wired and yeilded the same slow speed

[Q] Wifi is terrible on b/g/n but okay on a

So, last week my Note started dropping wifi on my home 802.11g wifi. It was really bad, constant dropping, and when I was connected browsing was futile. The note said it had high signal strength, though.
I opened it up, and disconnected and re-connected the long antenna on the power button side. Didn't help.
I replaced that antenna and the rear cover with a "new" one off ebay. Didn't help.
I did find that I can connect to the work Wifi on 802.11a fairly well. 12-18 Mbs connection.
I also connect to the home wifi just fine if I'm within 2 feet of the AP. So, I presume that the note just can't transmit very well.
What should I do? is there another board or antenna that I should replace? Should I get a new motherboard? if so, where can I find one?
No one, eh?

It works at my work. But only on 802.11a
I bought a dual band wireless router so I can run 802.11a at home, so now my frustration is only limited to stores and places that on run 802.11b/g
I still want to fix this. I may have to sell the phone and buy a new one.
Interesting... You didn't say whether you've tried a factory reset yet... But I would definitely try that. Also would try using Odin and going back to stock. Does it make a different whether Bluetooth is disabled (b/n and BT are very close in wireless spectrum)?
