Instead of making a new thread for each ROM which you share from other sites, why don't you guys post all the roms in this thread.
That way the thread forum will remain clean. If users want this can be stickied later.

Oh..
I didn't knew there was one thread already.
If there is then why are people making new threads?
Well anyways.

I think posting roms in 1 thread is useless and hard to find. becoz after posting a rom there will be flooding comments. its hard to find roms in the correct pages.
diffrent threads is much better.

That is personal preference. Everyone here has their favorite(s) but only you can decide what you like. Check out the development section and read what each rom is about. Then like they all say, read them again.
If you search the forums I think this topic is already floating around somewhere.

I wish there was a way to censor this question.
Mods, when you close a thread for duplicating information/questions/topics, can you link to the thread that has the original information/answers? It becomes difficult when you are searching the forums for an answer, and you find threads asking the question you need answered, but all they have are a post from a moderator saying "Already been asked. Locked."
They would prob expect you to do a little of the work to find the topic or information YOU are looking for ..they r not secretaries

That was the point. When you try to do a search you get a lot of results with questions but no answers. This makes it difficult to do your own "work".
That's why its called "work".. If it was easy then you'd already know how to do it... Part of the experience is finding wrong threads that may not pertain to what you think they should, but you learn (how to search on your own and not have everybody cater to you) regardless.

You must be joking...
Clutter does not make anything better. Not the board and not the users' experience.
I've never had an issue..usually I can even google and find an xda thread about what I'm looking for..I guess everyone's expectations are different..regardless its not the mods job to do it for you

I can generally find my answers too. But once in a while there will be a hot issue that lots of people ask about. Their questions usually contain all the key words, so search results come back filled with clutter.
A moderators first job is to protect the board and the integrity of the data. It is also a mod's job to help make sure the board provides a good user experience. Somtimes that means cleaning up threads. This might include merging them, moving them or deleting them. If a mod knows infor exists elsewhere then he already knows where it is. To expect him to put that link into a thread he locks is _certainly not_ too much to ask.
Hint: I run a forum too, and have several moderators.
What if the mods merged the threads and shot the op a PM letting him know with the link to the thread. I've had a mod do that for me once here in another section. It was very helpful. Just a thought.

we dont typically do this b/c at times it makes a mess when merged, is a complete hassle to do, and also more importantly wouldn't teach people to take a few extra min to look around and find what they are looking for on their own and learn...
and the reason you dont see a link a lot of the times when threads are closed b/c other threads are already present......its b/c 9/10 times the thread that they should of posted in to begin with was on the first page of the very same section they post in....
Also we dont always have the time to pull up and copy the link to the thread for the user...
Closing this one, btw...if you have any questions feel free to PM ANY of us about your concerns/comments....were a open gang here

Did a bit of a search, couldn't find anything like this for the Samsung Galaxy S3... question is simple - what is your favourite ROM for the Galaxy S3, and why?
Until some of the recent Jelly Bean ROMs from Samsung have leaked, my favourite has been Cyanogenmod 10 nightlies. As much as I love the Google Experience with AOSP, I can't deny that Samsung have done a freaking good job on their Jelly Bean ROMs. I'm currently using the latest Omega v22 ROM and it's amazing. Some of the features in it are really breathtaking, and they have really make a good effort to make it easy to use for the end user, which doesn't help me, but it's a step in the right direction.
So what is your favorite ROM right now and why?

Look through the forum and see all the locked best ROM threads.
They bring out fanboys and can end up as flame wars.

Download a pit file for i9300 and use that. Then repartition in ODIN with a full firmware( one that contains all partitions )
It should work, provided you are still able to enter Download Mode!

Suggest you read the thread, it has been reported, the OP has acknowledged he made a mistake, there is no reason why people can't offer assistance to the poor guy.........however I can think of plenty of reasons why people shouldn't add posts like yours.....namely forum rules

True! Yes he made a mistake and he was good enough to accept it. Poor guy's phone is broken, i am sure a 500$ damage can spoil anyone's sense of forum rules... So while opening another thread in the general thread wouldn't solve the problem, helping him to close his issue might just save someone's phone!

AndroidNoob69's XDA guide - What TO DO and NOT TO DO here
Hi guys, especially people who have just joined the forum
READ the forum rules or is it TOO LONG??
Having PROBLEMS understanding??
Still UNSURE??
Fear not I am here to teach you what TO DO and NOT TO DO on XDA
TO DO
1. Post in the right forum.
Many people who have questions, may end up posting in 'General' rather than 'Q&A'
This is what the forums are for
General: e.g. Android Upgrading news, rooting updates, and other discussions.
Q&A: Bricked your device? Need advice? Come here and ask!
Development: Rooting Kits, Recoveries, ROMs
Apps & Themes: Mods, Apps, Shares, Ports and Themes
2. Be polite. Provide adequate info when asking a question. Do NOT swear.
3. Search the forum when posting. Do not create duplicate threads when your question is not answered.
Searching before posting is important. It helps XDA to fight spam. When your question is NOT answered, DO NOT create another thread. You can 'bump' your thread once every 24 hours.
4. Spamming port request in a thread that is meant for jb and OP says (JB) Just ONE person kindly ask the OP if he can port for example, ICS. If he says 'no' then, you got to wait for a developer to port it for you.
What NOT TO DO
1. Post Cracks, Free In-App purchasers etc.
If you REALLY want to share cracks, DO NOT SHARE IT ON XDA. It is cheating the community. If I have cracks, I would decide not to announce it to the whole XDA "Hey! I got *fill in with app name* for free! Link: donotclick.com/freeapps/appid-8459"
2. Be racist, insult others etc.
XDA is NOT for racism. I am sure everyone wants to have a good time here relaxing, helping others. You would not like it if you are insulted too, right?
3. TRY NOT to quote the whole OP as it might be spam to others.
Yes, you want the OP to know you replied, but try MENTIONING (like @Pandemic does). If you are using tapatalk and cant remember the user's username. Forget it. Just post a normal reply.
4. Mirror a file when OP says do not mirror my files.
This is a problem when the OP does not have a mirror and the app/mod download link is dead. Kindly tell the OP that its dead. He will solve it. In other words, DI NOT MIRROR without permission.
ADDED BY @Ben36
5. Don't make annoying 'noob' threads
ADDED BY @Pandemic
6: dont post threads with 1 simple question if the answer is already there
7: read before post and if you cant find it, use google
8: dont act as a noob if you can read and dont ask 1000 times the same questions
THIS IS ALL THE BASIC INFORMATION YOU NEED, HAVE FUN
Regards,
AndroidNoob69
