Your Favorite ROM? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Did a bit of a search, couldn't find anything like this for the Samsung Galaxy S3... question is simple - what is your favourite ROM for the Galaxy S3, and why?
Until some of the recent Jelly Bean ROMs from Samsung have leaked, my favourite has been Cyanogenmod 10 nightlies. As much as I love the Google Experience with AOSP, I can't deny that Samsung have done a freaking good job on their Jelly Bean ROMs. I'm currently using the latest Omega v22 ROM and it's amazing. Some of the features in it are really breathtaking, and they have really make a good effort to make it easy to use for the end user, which doesn't help me, but it's a step in the right direction.
So what is your favorite ROM right now and why?

Sorry about that, didn't realise that it's against forum rules? Care to link where it says that? I've seen them in different device threads...

Look through the forum and see all the locked best ROM threads.
They bring out fanboys and can end up as flame wars.
I don't know where it says it in the rules, I just know that they aren't allowed here.

[Q] ICS ROM

What is the best rom to use on the galaxy note i717?
Thanks
That is personal preference. Everyone here has their favorite(s) but only you can decide what you like. Check out the development section and read what each rom is about. Then like they all say, read them again.
If you search the forums I think this topic is already floating around somewhere.

[CM9 RC1] How to install

Hi guys I haven't found a topic yet where to find an installation guide for the first release candidate of CM9
I'm new to roms installation and I was looking for a detailed guide or someone that explain me how to...
I'm running a stock kernel, a stock rooted rom (ics 4.0.3 xwlp7) and I haven't installed the Cwm I have it in the internal storage memory and I have to flash it every time I need to use it
That's all
My questions are:
I need a particular kernel? How to change it?
I need Cwm installed or I can leave it like it is now?
I need doing or I can just flash it from the device?
Thanks

Well, I think if you can't figure out the answers using the search function, and opening a thread for this in the original development section it would be better not to install CM9...
Have you even tried to Google that? C'mon, there are so many guides out there! Don't be that lazy! Oh, and next time write in the right section.

Use the noob proof odin method. After that you may update to a nightly of your choice (or rc1)...

I don't think you should be flashing ROM's if you don't know how to even get CyanogenMod on your phone.

Read and figure it out on your own. If you don't, you're going to be dependent on other people the whole time you do anything to your device. It's your device, do some research on your own.

THANKS A LOT,
MOST OF YOU HAS BEEN ESSENTIAL,
JUST A THING:
IS A COMMUNITY OF ANDROID USERS? YES YOU CAN THINK AT IT AS A COMMUNITY
IN A COMMUNITY, THERE ARE PEOPLES WHO CAN HELP AND PEOPLES THAT NEEDS HELP?
YES
WICH OF THE TWO YOU ARE?
A PERSON THAT NEED HELP? I DON'T KNOW YOU BUT MAYBE SOMETHIMES U NEEDED
A PERSON THAT HELP OTHERS? CLEARLY NOT.
I'VE DONE IT BY MYSELF, I FOLLOWED A GUIDE I FOUND REALLY CLEAR,
IT HAS BEEN QUITE SIMPLE? YES
THANKS TO THAT PERSON
WHEN I CAN I ALWAYS GIVE HELP, THATS WHAT WE SHOULD DO

Typing in all caps is not helping you get your point across.
This is a community, yes. But it's supposed to be a community of developers and hackers. Or at the very least, people who come here wanting to research and learn. But since everyone and their mother now joins and expects to have information spoon-fed to them, it's become a community, as you said, of "users"; i.e. people who simply use.
My point - the information you were seeking could have been found with a search. Rule #1 of the forum rules is:
1. Search before posting.
Use one of our search functions before posting, whether you have a question or something new to share, it's very likely someone already asked that question or shared that news.

Hell, the instructions for installing CM9 are - surprise, surprise, in the CM9 thread. The same thread that had links to download it. You clearly were able to find it to download it, so did you just skip over the instructions on how to flash?
Give this a read.
Writing in caps doesn't solve anything, you were told what you should have been told, not to discourage you but to save you bricking your phone.
If you can't read few stickies, can't read few threads, that's what you will get.
Read them, than ask and you will be surprised how many will actually help you.
i was not doing controversy, caps was not intended (working i have to use it)
I was just saying that if someone needs help you could at least direct it in the right direction, instead of always criticizing that's all I know how to use the "search" but obviously I did not have any clear answers to my questions that's why I opened a topic in hopes of getting answers. I've had no answers, I had to assume and tests.
fortunally everything went well
Its suppose to be a community of android developers (note: The name of this website!!!)
No one is required to help another person, they choose to help. Some people were nice enough to post guides, faq and etc. The majority of all questions or problems asked has an answer or solution posted. It is the responsibility of the user to search and read them.
Any new users should read the stickies FIRST before posting. Every one of your questions has answers in the stickies. If people dont bother reading guides and faqs, they have a higher chance of ruining their phone.
As you said, there was a guide, you followed it and solved it yourself. Why didnt you simply search for it, BEFORE you posted this.

A. You're not allowed to post a "what is the best_____" thread
B. Radio is location dependant, so you can start trying them out. (they take a few cycles for them to settle, just like flashing roms and kernels)

This really isn't the place to ask questions... And you could ask that question in the siyah discussion thread. Rather than the development thread.
Ok m8
I am using Dorimanx v7.33 for JB.. on android v4.2.1 - cm10.1 I am using this so I can undervolt to get the battery to last longer. Doing the same thing I can get 2 days on ICS.
I dont know about radio but try out GetRIL so the RIL and Baseband are the same on every one they never match.

It's better for new guys to read for themselves, so they know what they are flashing. Otherwise you get dozens of annoying questions afterwarts about their rom, because they blindly follow advise about roms that are based on personal preferrences (which maybe don't match their own expectations).

best and stable 4.2.1 ROM for S3 ?

hi guys
which is the best 4.2.1 ROM stable and with ton of features according to you?
Please read the forum rules - no best rom threads!
Well, there has been only two 4.2.1 ports to s3 and one of them is paused. The other one is Cm10.1, so go with it. If there's other 4.2 roms they are build from Cm source.

THE RULES as posted by a mod .
Guys,
There has been so many "Which is the best ROM?" and "Which is the best kernel?" threads lately.
This is a reminder.. these kind of threads are NOT allowed.
Why are they not allowed? Well because that the best rom and kernel for me might be the worst for someone else. It's subjective. It's like asking who the hottest girl in the world is. Or which sports car is the best. If you ask 100 people you will get 100 different answers.
The best advice is to try them all and figure out which one is best for YOU and YOUR needs. Not based on what's best for someone else.
I have just been closing these threads but I'm going to start to hand out official warnings if it continues.
Thanks jje - knew I was right. If users see such threads how do we report them to mods like yourselves. Can't see a facility on the app?

Battery friendly rom (cyanogenmod?)

Currently, I have Cyanogenmod 10.1 (10.1-20130226-NIGHTLY-i9100) rom installed in my phone. I would like to know is there any way to improve cyanogenmod in my phone in order to make it more battery friendly? If not, than maybe you can recommend some other rom, which would be 4.2 and more battery friendly?
Thanks.

Sorry, but I don't agree with the fact that you can't ask for other people to share their opinion on what is greatest rom for specific problem solving. I would love to install all available to roms on my phone and test them by myself, yet I have tons job and no time, that is the reason why I ask for xda-developers users to share their experience. Is it really that much to ask?
Look, everyone's idea of a 'best' ROM is different, and on a website like xda there will be many different views. I don't set these rules for no best ROM threads, that comes from the moderators. I just do my bit to prevent the lazy people like yourself from clogging up the forum and being spoonfed.

You have no right to call me lazy.
Anyway, I will be a bigger man and step out of this. Clearly, some people here have absolutely nothing better to do then to watch if someone "spammed" forum with thread in which a question about roms is being asked...
On a more productive note, try one of the updated 4.2.2's and play with various power and connection settings to see how you can get the power to last.
