A. You're not allowed to post a "what is the best_____" thread
B. Radio is location dependant, so you can start trying them out. (they take a few cycles for them to settle, just like flashing roms and kernels)

Why is there minimum posts requirement to post in developement forums? It seems stupid to me, man needs to post his messages in other OT forums.
Well, there is a bug about BLN in latest 4.0.1 Siyah S2 kernel, backlights stays on even if turned off in ROM manager.
Thanks.

This really isn't the place to ask questions... And you could ask that question in the siyah discussion thread. Rather than the development thread.

Ok m8
I am using Dorimanx v7.33 for JB.. on android v4.2.1 - cm10.1 I am using this so I can undervolt to get the battery to last longer. Doing the same thing I can get 2 days on ICS.
I dont know about radio but try out GetRIL so the RIL and Baseband are the same on every one they never match.

It's better for new guys to read for themselves, so they know what they are flashing. Otherwise you get dozens of annoying questions afterwarts about their rom, because they blindly follow advise about roms that are based on personal preferrences (which maybe don't match their own expectations).

SGS2 ATT Official Stock ROM 2.3.4

Hi,
I have been searching the forum for ATT Official 2.3.4 stock ROM. I am new to Android and planning to put in a Custom ROM in my SGS2. But before I do that, I wanted to have the Official ATT 2.3.4 ROM so that in case any issues I can flash that back. Also I did read about keeping the flash counter intact. I primarily want to be prepared before I start with it. Please share if there is a link available.
Thanks
Seriously? The Development forum is only 4 pages long and you're too lazy to even skim thread titles there?
I suggest you go back and read the XDA rules again. Search before posting.

I was looking through the development forum as well and did find out there were some ROMs which were already rooted. I was looking for a unrooted ROM and maybe would have missed when I was looking through. That does not mean I am lazy... I am new here and did ask for help after trying!

Your reactive comment is really uncalled for. People are here to help, and they do not get paid to be here, but some find it a little tiring when people appear to ask questions before they even look for the answer.
I understand that to a new person, sometimes you don't even have a point of reference to know what you are looking for. What you need can be found in the development forum as "Unbrick/return to stock by Entropy512."
Also refer to the sticky topic "Library" in the development section, and the sticky topic "FAQ" in the general section.
Edit: OK I see you removed your reactive comment, so I removed it from the quote also.
My bad..sorry about the reactive comment.
I am a new user to Android and just moved from iPhone. I do appreciate the DEVS work and understand it is an extra responsibility for you.
I had rooted and unlocked my SGS2 but being extra cautious not to brick it when flashing the ROM. I maybe should have read through all the posts irrespective of the title
Thanks Guys.. I got the thread.. I will pick it up from there
do you have the link for official stock rom that you found?

You really need to look around. There's a sticky post in the development section. Also study the links in my signature.
Why are people here so rude with noobs, jesshh. Can you just politely let the person know to do a search before posting and also provide the freaking link, since you people are so much of an expert in the forum right...

If we spoonfed every new person that comes here to XDA we wouldn't have enough room for actual development dude. So what you are suggestion is basically ridiculous. I want to come here for development. Not a bunch of links and "how to" posts. Searching is a good thing.

I tried searching, but a lot of times, its confusing on which Rom is actually the stock version which would return everything as before.
I looked at restoring the phone thread and couple of others which also say they are stock rom, hence the confusion.
There is no point in fighting. I got my answer, so its ok if people got mad at me for asking a question. They will forget about it in a couple of hours, and I will try to search a little more next time.

I agree with the post above this one. That's the reason God built a search button into the XDA forum, and the reason He's blessed us with google.
Hint: look in the SGS2 development forum for the letters "ICS", then read about what you find.
Even more help (cause I'm such a nice guy):
Relevant forum
EDIT: If you're more interested in stock ROMs...check out sammobile.com (damn, I'm being nice today!).
There are also several threads in the General section outlining exactly what you are asking. I will leave finding them an exercise to you.

[CM9 RC1] How to install

Hi guys I haven't found a topic yet where to find an installation guide for the first release candidate of CM9
I'm new to roms installation and I was looking for a detailed guide or someone that explain me how to...
I'm running a stock kernel, a stock rooted rom (ics 4.0.3 xwlp7) and I haven't installed the Cwm I have it in the internal storage memory and I have to flash it every time I need to use it
That's all
My questions are:
I need a particular kernel? How to change it?
I need Cwm installed or I can leave it like it is now?
I need doing or I can just flash it from the device?
Thanks

Well, I think if you can't figure out the answers using the search function, and opening a thread for this in the original development section it would be better not to install CM9...
Have you even tried to Google that? C'mon, there are so many guides out there! Don't be that lazy! Oh, and next time write in the right section.

Use the noob proof odin method. After that you may update to a nightly of your choice (or rc1)...

I don't think you should be flashing ROM's if you don't know how to even get CyanogenMod on your phone.

Read and figure it out on your own. If you don't, you're going to be dependent on other people the whole time you do anything to your device. It's your device, do some research on your own.

THANKS A LOT,
MOST OF YOU HAS BEEN ESSENTIAL,
JUST A THING:
IS A COMMUNITY OF ANDROID USERS? YES YOU CAN THINK AT IT AS A COMMUNITY
IN A COMMUNITY, THERE ARE PEOPLES WHO CAN HELP AND PEOPLES THAT NEEDS HELP?
YES
WICH OF THE TWO YOU ARE?
A PERSON THAT NEED HELP? I DON'T KNOW YOU BUT MAYBE SOMETHIMES U NEEDED
A PERSON THAT HELP OTHERS? CLEARLY NOT.
I'VE DONE IT BY MYSELF, I FOLLOWED A GUIDE I FOUND REALLY CLEAR,
IT HAS BEEN QUITE SIMPLE? YES
THANKS TO THAT PERSON
WHEN I CAN I ALWAYS GIVE HELP, THATS WHAT WE SHOULD DO
THATS WHAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN ACTIVE AND A PASSIVE USER

Typing in all caps is not helping you get your point across.
This is a community, yes. But it's supposed to be a community of developers and hackers. Or at the very least, people who come here wanting to research and learn. But since everyone and their mother now joins and expects to have information spoon-fed to them, it's become a community, as you said, of "users"; i.e. people who simply use.
My point - the information you were seeking could have been found with a search. Rule #1 of the forum rules is:
1. Search before posting.
Use one of our search functions before posting, whether you have a question or something new to share, it's very likely someone already asked that question or shared that news.

Hell, the instructions for installing CM9 are - surprise, surprise, in the CM9 thread. The same thread that had links to download it. You clearly were able to find it to download it, so did you just skip over the instructions on how to flash?
Give this a read.
Writing in caps doesn't solve anything, you were told what you should have been told, not to discourage you but to save you bricking your phone.
If you can't read few stickies, can't read few threads, that's what you will get.
Read them, than ask and you will be surprised how many will actually help you.
i was not doing controversy, caps was not intended (working i have to use it)
I was just saying that if someone needs help you could at least direct it in the right direction, instead of always criticizing that's all I know how to use the "search" but obviously I did not have any clear answers to my questions that's why I opened a topic in hopes of getting answers. I've had no answers, I had to assume and tests.
fortunally everything went well
Its suppose to be a community of android developers (note: The name of this website!!!)
No one is required to help another person, they choose to help. Some people were nice enough to post guides, faq and etc. The majority of all questions or problems asked has an answer or solution posted. It is the responsibility of the user to search and read them.
Any new users should read the stickies FIRST before posting. Every one of your questions has answers in the stickies. If people dont bother reading guides and faqs, they have a higher chance of ruining their phone.
As you said, there was a guide, you followed it and solved it yourself. Why didnt you simply search for it, BEFORE you posted this.

Your Favorite ROM?

Did a bit of a search, couldn't find anything like this for the Samsung Galaxy S3... question is simple - what is your favourite ROM for the Galaxy S3, and why?
Until some of the recent Jelly Bean ROMs from Samsung have leaked, my favourite has been Cyanogenmod 10 nightlies. As much as I love the Google Experience with AOSP, I can't deny that Samsung have done a freaking good job on their Jelly Bean ROMs. I'm currently using the latest Omega v22 ROM and it's amazing. Some of the features in it are really breathtaking, and they have really make a good effort to make it easy to use for the end user, which doesn't help me, but it's a step in the right direction.
So what is your favorite ROM right now and why?
This kind of thread is not allowed on xda.

Look through the forum and see all the locked best ROM threads.
They bring out fanboys and can end up as flame wars.
I don't know where it says it in the rules, I just know that they aren't allowed here.

[Performance][JB]Unofficial CyanogenMod 10 'Jellaxy' [08.09.2012]

Hey guys, I have made this thread so people can share their performance tips for the latest jellaxy nightly, I say to overclock and flash michie performance package (lags for some people).
Also battery, if anyone has tips for battery then please share.
Also want to say a massive thanks to lagloose, for his great effort to produce the amazing rom. Thank you mate.
Please dont spam unless your asking a "relevant" question.
Thanks.

+1 one for this again, close this thread?
Usually im not a friend of spamming such threads, but this is worth it: We have about 6-7 threads about CM9 and CM10 (Maclaw-, Lagloose-Versions and some Help/general/whatever-threads) scattered throughout the 5830 Forumsection. Adding things like the Cam-problem or minor "have-a-problem threads" its even more.
Please! dont create more threads. Even now there are too much an IMHO most of them can be deleted. Nobody obeys the rules, so its not necessary to divide in CM9 and CM10 helpthreads (dunno where the problem is, but CM10 problems are posted in CM9 thread and Vice-versa AND in their respective "DEV" threads.)
SO: ONE Help-thread and ONE general Thread for CM10 AND 9 would be more than enough
just my 2 cents
Well if you dont wont to post on this thread then dont, simple.

Thats not even the whole point here, if it was he wouldn't reply to this thread. Or would he?
if there's one thing I don't like about this rom - it's that my phone rarely lasts 24hrs with minimal use (no phone calls, only whatsapp running, no internet use, no games etc.)
I really hate to be rude, but seriously SHUT THE FOOK UP! Stop making duplicate threads!
Sent from my GT-P7300 using xda app-developers app
But that is rude, really are you that stupid? I already said dont post if you dont want, people these days..... -.-"
The thread has been closed for now as it's a duplicate thread but some users here will feel the heat soon.
Discussion threads are not to be started just because an user thinks he wants to but it should be started only if there's actually a need for it & if it'll add something to the forum.
The members could have used the report button to notify the MODs rather than arguing & using swear words. If a polite reminder doesn't help in making the OP realise that it's a duplicate thread then the best option is to use the report button & be rest assured it'll be taken to it's logical conclusion.
