I just downloaded the new YouTube update because I noticed it fixed HD in 2.2 and 2.3. I was curious to see if it would allow the app to play while using Aces' MIUI rom and sure enough..IT DOES!!! Go into settings and set movies to play in high quality and bam...your YouTube app will work.
Just out of curiosity, were you on wifi when you did this? If I remember right, youtube worked fine when connected to wifi but not over cellular data.
Fine on 3g.

Thats great then. I wonder if YouTubes fix is similar to what Ace needs to do to MIUI. Maybe its not set for an HD display? It seems like something Ace would have thought of though.
I sent a tweet to Ace but never got a response. But yes, I was using it on 3g and not Wi-Fi.

I've never had trouble on 3g as long as HD was selected if it is not the videos error out

I would say no. The only thing pulling me into getting the thunderbolt is the unlocked bootloader. I miss flashing a new rom almost every night on my d1.
Im sure with the recently released sbf, there will be a nice choice of rims available. Its just taking some time

With as laggy and bogged down as the phone is OOTB, it's one of the top performers on raw power. Once the bootloader is unlocked, the phone with a custom rom is going to be a monster. Also, when it is unlocked, you'd be kicking yourself nightly due to the many roms that will no doubt be released.
I would get a charge!

Charge was one of the worst phones that I have used. Even w/ custom ROM etc... SLOWWWWWWWWWWW. But I loved the display, super amoled + = winning. To each their own though, one might like a phone , while another hates it.
I had the droid x2 the display was gorgeous volume supreme but I had three of them give me constant reboots it was annoying and I needed a functional phone.so I want with the thunder bolt done ways I regret it some ways I don't, but I'm happy with my decision

Makes me miss my SGS. And the Super AMOLED. That black was extremely nice. But, so far I'm happy with my x2. This mutha has an LED flash on the back! WTF?! lol, something T-mobile has NEVER DONE, and will not do for whatever reason. Besides, their service sucks once you leave the big cities.
The thunderbolt can on 3G. All 4G devices should unless you make the settings CDMA only.

Nope, no 3g phone can do that at the present time.
First post here. I have talked and surfed at the same time on the droid x2. After reading the post that it cannot be done tried it again and it worked.
Nevermind just realized It was using WIFI for data. After turning WIFI off cannot talk and surf.

Actually, yes you can. Just verified for sure. While on the phone, hit home, you can then browse to your hearts content while ignoring the person you have on the phone. Any phone that can connect to a wireless network (not associated with cellular networks), you should be able to surf and talk regardless of the cellular provider.
Hey guys. It seems pandora is broken on 2.3.4 it only works with wifi. It will work on 3g but it takes 2 min to connect and one minute between songs. It worked perfectly on 2.3.3 . Ive tried different roms and 4 older versions of pandora. Is anyone else having a problem? Or is there a possible fix

i havent been able to sign onto the pandora app in a while. when u the same credentials that i use on my laptop it says the username is incorrect. still says the same thing after i reset my username and password. I just gave up on pandora.
Honestly that about as good as pandora ever worked on 3G for me. Slacker will play next track almost instantly. Seemed to improve with last update, but pandora has been a slow disappointment going all the way back to 2.2.2 froyo w/3G for me.

Do a search for Pandora 1.5.7 apk.
Downloand and install problem fixed guaranteed.
I contacted Pandora and they know there is a problem, but stated they didn't have a fix.

I use Skype also.
Skype works very nicely, though the front facing camera looks a little washed out. I know that's not Skype's fault but I wonder if anyone knows how to fix this? (at least change settings to "sunny" or something)
I haven't tried Skype yet....but Tango does work on my Razr XT912.

I don't believe that can be done over the Verizon 3g network, but can be done on 4g if both parties have 4g connections.

I've had my wife gtalk video call me while I was on 3G and she was on our home wifi. I believe we have done it while we both have been on 3G.
No. I mean over the cellular 3G network. Like normal video-calling, not over skype or anything. And yeah, I don't think any Android phone supports that yet. Faaaark.....coz Nokia had Symbian S60 support it 5 years ago! I remember video calling on my Nokia 5800 over 3G. Its 3 bucks/minute here in India.

I use Fring for VOIP. I have not tried to use its video features. I do know that last time I tried Skype it was buggy.

I use Qik. Even though it's made by Skype, it's not nearly as buggy. It's what Sprint uses when they're doing product placement on TV shows like "Fringe."
I prefer Oovoo. It is much less buggy than Skype and can video chat with up to 12 different people at once. Works over 3G, 4G, and WiFi. The video quality is very nice as well. Plus, it integrates seamlessly with Facebook to allow video calling to your Facebook contacts.

Pandora loads fine but never plays a song just keeps loading and buffering..cleared cache and data then reinstalled still nothing. Now songza throws up the error "unfortunately stopped" and tried the same thing above cept it will load until I put in login info. I'm on stock rom with root not updated

I noticed it happen to me when I changed my build prop to have the market think I'm using a galaxy nexus. But I'm 100% sure Pandora works with the nexus. Weird...

I had issues as well. I found a Pandora App version 1.5 online and haven't had much problems since. See if you can uninstall updates and see if that works. Some reason, the Evo and new version of Pandora don't agree with each other.
Are you sure it's not just Sprint being slow?

I changed the proxies and I use the latest version, 1.6, with no problem over 3g. Been working for the last 4 weeks.

what steps did you take? did you just change the http settings or the rtp as well? did you do that before or after wiping data/uninstall/reinstall? are you on a custom rom? sorry for the interrogation but I'm looking for a solution and this is pretty frustrating, either deal with an old version with no album art, or album art and only working on Wifi. any incite would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, I did both but still no album art on on the earlier versions...no music on 3g with 1.5.15 and above.
Does this happen to anyone else? YouTube refuses to connect after I zero out sprint proxies.

I had this happen to me once, never tried it again. I would work on wifi but not on 3g, never tested with LTE.
Don't know if there is a fix for that...

specifically, adding back in the HTTPSD setting fixed it (I had thought RTSP would have fixed it)
Guess i never used youtube enough or never used it while on 3G/4GLTE.
I can confirm that with the edited info on 4G LTE on my EVO LTE that youtube didnt work.
Put the original settings back in and it does work on 4G LTE..
