Hi everyone, this is my 2nd post on the forum because it is very urgent. When i press the power button and my phone goes into sleep i notice after about 5-20 minutes the screen blinks and everytime it blinks and i wake the phone and try to turn on my wifi it shows up with wifi "error" . i am looking for a permanent solution.
What i tried :
1) restarting phone (works short term)
2) typing *#*#526#*#* in keypad (works short term)
3) Wifi policy set to "never" (had no effect)
4) FXR WIFI FIXER app (had no effect)
5) battery pull (no effect)
6) static ip (no effect)
7) factory reset/ new rom (no effect)
So can anyone help me with this It started when i was using kph 2.3.4 and now i use kpe 2.3.3.
Please reply any help would be appreciated
what rom are you using? rooted or no?
if possible go to cwm / or stock revoery
enter by shutting down phone
- then press power and middle button together for about 20seconds(?)
-press down button to format
-press middle
-wait
-done
-your phone is formatted and fixed hopefully

i already said i tried factory reset and i said that i was using 2.3.3 kpe.. Thanks for the reply though any help?

Try reflashing with odin.
If it doesn't work, well service center is your only solution.

But then I flashed a cm7 ROM and it works like a charm

Camera quality is good in Cm7..
Don't just say thanx click on the thanx button
Cameras good same as the stock
Modding the phone doesn't change its hardware

i'm using Galaxy SII i9100 Orange, and when i try to update my phone to Android 4.0.3 i dont have lockscreen. everytime i press power button it come to Home screen .
i've using both Cook rom ICS and stock rom ICS : XXLPQ stock official rom Android 4.0.3 but nothing change.
not only me , my friend have the same problem. i change in settings -> Security -> ScreenLock and chose whatever you want (pin,pattern,facedetection,slide) but nothing happen.
any idea to fix this thanks a lot.

Go to settings -> Security -> ScreenLock and chose whatever you want (pin,pattern,facedetection,slide)

back to 2.3.5 and w8 for the official ICS , they said xxlpq is official but it has many bugs ! stay on 2.3.5 and search over market ,there are many facedectection lock programs !

i also get same problem no lock screen and airplane mode , handser directly shutdown when ever i press poer button, no flight mode and no other option comes

The first thing I would try would be doing a full wipe. I suppose you just flashed it on top of GB.

I did the same thing (flashed XXLPQ on top of GB), and I'm having the same problem. No lock screen/phone isn't going into sleep mode. Long-pressing the power button gives no options but simply turns off the phone. So I've decided to do a full wipe, but at the risk of sounding like a total noob, what do I need to do exactly? I've already gone through CWM Recovery mode, wiped all the data and user cache. Also did a factory reset. That brought the phone back to default settings, but yet still on ICS, with still the same problems. I reflashed ICS and still no good. Obviously I'm doing something wrong, but what do I do? I'm thinking I'm meant to revert back to GB, or maybe even back to the original stock build (though I didn't backup the ROM). But I'm also wondering how that would work without causing problems, since I'd be flashing an old GB build on top of ICS.
In short: I'm a noob and I don't know what to do. Please help!
Edit: I never lost the "NO" keystr file in my efs/imei folder.
Edit 2: FIXED! Both lock screen and power button options are back.
Despite having retained the keystr file, it was actually necessary to fix it up... Here's how I did it (make sure your device is rooted):
Download "Android Terminal Emulator" from the Play Store. Just open it and type in this code:
su
echo -n ON > /efs/imei/keystr
sync
reboot

And that's it.
I have since turned off my phone and turned it back on and it is still working fine, so you shouldn't have any problems retaining the file upon reboots. I hope this solves your problem.

zia my phone dont have keystr , so i make 1 and type On . so it working ^^ now i have my lockscreen and power button work.
so same problem but we have different bug :|

2. have keystr but have to use Terminal Emulator to fix it

reboot again and again that too in no time...
please suggest me some solution by which my contacts and other data won't get lost...

No choice ! you have to reflash the ROM . but if you use custom ROM . it maybe kernel things . Stock or custom ROM ?

one time this appen to me. try flashing another kernel. dont wipe nothing. only overwrite kernel. if the phone turn on please make backup of your data contacts etc. and reflash the rom. one tip bro save/ sync all your contacts with you google account that way never lost your contacts.

I have a Galaxy S3 i9300 and I am running ArchiDroid V2.3.5 with Boeffla Kernel 2.2-beta1.
The problem I have with the phone is that it boot loops itself, although sometimes the phone does boot up and runs perfectly fine, but when I use my power button (on the right), it'll randomly turn off and reboot again. I have been using the "Sleep" option from the quick panel menu and not the power button.
I'm quite worried as I don't know if it is a hardware problem or just a problem with the ROM? I have tried wiping everything (sys, dalvik, cache, sd) and reinstalling a previous version of Archidroid but still no luck. If i press the power button for a second the boot menu comes up instantly (Reboot, Screenshot etc).
Also I am trying to install NeatROM (Sammy) to see if it works but in recovery I get this problem.

Your problem is due to outdated update-binary used by Neat ROM.
You can try ArchiDroid 1.X to see if it's rom or hardware problem. For me it seems like your power button is getting stuck. and this causes hard reset.

Alright so this isn't a software problem as I'm having the same problem with this rom aswell

My Sony Z2 phone was running fine, but since yesterday when someone calls me the phone rings normally but the screen freezes. It doesn't show who is calling, just rings and vibrates. The 3 buttons at the bottom of phone (Back - Home - App log) disappear, the top bar freezes as i can't drag it down, but i can still run any application i want on the desktop.
I tried restarting the phone, but it is still doing the same thing. I have also opened it in safe mode but it did the same thing. Any idea what may be causing this ?

Probably a odd bug
Use flashtool to flash a FTF (exclude data)
This should fix ANY issues your having on the firmware side

I recoment you try repairing your device via Sony PC companion. this will format your internal storage trying to fix your device this way.
if the problem persists then call sony customer support
if you want to try the flashtool method (which doesnt wipe your storage)
you can get flashtool from here

select the flash/lightning icon at the top left
click flashmode
select the FTF you downloaded (exclude data)
wait for it to finish prepparing
power off your device
when prompted plug your device into your PC holding volume down

I have reset my phone and it is now working fine. It took me a whole day to rearrange my phone one again. Hopefully this won't happen again.

Its too late, but u need to enter into Settings-> Personalization-> Manage Notifications and check all the things shown. Have a good day!

Settings-apps-all,scroll down to incall ui,enable it.
If the above does not help,you might need to enable notifications for incall ui from settings-personalization-manage notifications.
Hi guys !
Today i'm having problem with my phone !
The com.android.phone has stopped showed up constantly, so the signal drop from time to time.
I find out that if i didn't press the ok button at the force close dialog, the signal never drop, therefore i would got a stable signal !
So, my question is : Can i hide it or close the dialog box without pressing ok ?
If it require root that's ok !

How you checked that?
This not gonna solve that issue, before you press ok that process is freezed and not functioning properly - at least it should work like that. When you pressing OK (means kill process) it's rebooting itself and working until next crash.
Next time try to call to this phone when it's crashed

First, thanks for replying !
For that matter, i tested by the method below :
Before i press Ok, i see that is a stable signal, so i got another phone to call that number and it does ring ! And when i left it be for 10 minutes still without pressing ok, when i called it still ring like normal ! So i guess that maybe that's the issue !
BTW : Is flashing another rom (custom rom maybe?) will fix it ?
