Can send mms on cm9 - Motorola Photon 4G

Does anyone know how to fix it I got receiving but not sending. ??
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium

APN fix on page 192 of CM9 thread. Give a thanks to FanBoy_Hunter for this. To get to the APN list open voice dialer and say "Open APN" and it will pop up with "Open APN's" then youll find a few, delete them and add new one with the following info.
Name: Production
APN:mms
Proxy: not set

Username: not set
Password: not set

MMSC: http://mms.sprintpcs.com

MCC: 310
MNC: 120
Authentication type: not set
APN type: mms
APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6
APN roaming protocol: IPv4/IPv6

This does not work I did some searching I found a fix for the epic cm9 can anyone port the fix ?? I can upload the file can a dev make it work in our phone ??
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium

It has worked for me all along through the Betas and Alphas since it was found as well as everyone else on the CM9 thread so i suggest revising your APNs and make sure you made a NEW apn and didnt edit an old one, we don't really have many devs here and they are overloaded so id be surprised if you got one to take up the task of trying to port it. They do amazing work though, look what they've brought us! Try sending yourself a MMS message, easy way to test send/receive ability.

Also make sure to set up the settings correctly in the stock messaging app AND after market one if used.

this did not work for me. I even tried switching the 216 and 261 under both proxies in case it was a typo
My Vibrant doesn't have a "MMS Protocol: WAP 2.0" field... It does have an "Authentication type" field, but the only options are:
1) None
2) PAP
3) CHAP
4) PAP or CHAP
That's it.
Also, I should note that I CAN send/receive MMS when sent to myself; but if I send an MMS to someone else it shows up blank and if they send an MMS to me it says "Downloading" then it fails (without a message) and presents a "Download" button which ends up doing nothing.
My Vibrant is doing the same thing. I upgraded to the official t-mobile leaked 2.2 and since doing so I have not been able to receive any picture MMS. I can send them just fine but when I receive them it just says downloading and it never downloads. I entered in all that info for the APN and what not and set the proxy nothing works any ideas? Help some chick sent me a bunch of nudies last night and I could not receive them hehe must fix
Anyone found an answer to this Q? Im running stock 2.2 .. but guess i need to root and try a ROM
I know this is late..but hope it helps someone in the future
Hey guys, when it just says downloading and never shows the pic...
What i did that worked was to go into settings of your messages area and under the MMS settings turn off "auto-retrieve" - this starts downlaoding the pic as soon as you recieve the message.
Now that its off, there should be a button in the MMS message that says download (you have to do it manually now). When you press it, the pic should pop right up.
Hope this helps, BTW im using a Samsung Vibrant -
Key phrase for search:
Samsung Vibrant
MMS messages just say "downloading"

How to fix
APN settings MMS fix Vibrant
This is something that's worked on my Vibrant when trying out new ROMs and the MMS isn't working. Download "Contacts Clean-Up" free from the Market. Leave the 1 in Country Code and whatever your area code is in the Area Code field is and click on the last selection +XXXYYYZZZZZZZ then hit Preview and Apply. Let the app do it's thing and then try sending and receiving MMS pictures again. It's worked for me. There's a thread already out there about this same issue and that's where I found this solution. Lemme know if this works for you guys.
Tried both (auto retrieve and contact clean) and it is still not working. I rember when i was on 2.1 and i talked to Tmo for about 2 hours until they asked me to do a wipe and that seem to have "cured" the issue, and then after installing 2.2 same problem. I would hate to wipe and start over. Any good recomendations on backups that will save my pics/music and my apps (plus settings for those aps) that are free?
I'm having the same problem
Did you guys find a solution?
I use to be able to recieve picture texts, but randomly the past few months it just says "downloading" but never does.
I tried switching from auto to manual, same thing.
Any other suggestions?
I'm running on stock rooted/deodexed KB5 2.2
Editing this post, I got it to work!
So what I had to do was what the person above said, switch from auto retrieve to manual, but it still didn't work. Then I switched from wifi to 3G, and it started to work.
I guess you can't download mms on wifi?
Hey bro, try this: go to messaging app, tap the menu key, press settings, scroll down to MMS portion of the settings, uncheck auto-retrieve. Hope this helps!

Incoming MMS picture size small on unlocked Atrix using it with T-Mobile US

I am using unlocked AT&T Atrix 4G with t-Mobile US. It is all factory software without any changes at all. Not boot loader unlocked.
Under the APN setting, there is an APN called "T-Mobile US". This APN is locked (I believe it is stored on the SIM because I did not input it on the phone when I unlocked it) and cannot be edited. However I can make a new APN entry.
The T-Mobile US APN settings are following
Name: T-Mobile US
APN: epc.tmobile.com
Proxy:
Port:
Username:
Password:
Server:
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS Proxy:
MMS Port:
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
APN Type:
..............The problem description................
I can send and receive MMS, however the incoming MMS are very tiny and small around 18-20KB. The out going MMS are fine, the receiver gets pics of about 350KB.
Any idea on what is going on?
Because your phone is not a T-Mobile phone, i.e. not sold by T-Mobile, your MMS messages are automatically resized to a smaller size because the network cannot identify what size you can receive. There is a workaround, as this was discussed previously. I will try to find it.
<edit> Try the following: go to messaging, setting, user agent, custom user agent, nexus one.
<edit 2> nexus one isn't there by default I don't think, so there is a way to add it through custom. (Believe you can add one by selecting custom and entering "NexusOne").
<edit 3> Found the following:
Name: T-Mobile US
APN: epc.tmobile.com (with no dash!)
Proxy: <Not set>
Port: <Not set>
Username: none (actually type "none")
Password: **** (four asterisks)
Server: * (one asterisk)
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS Proxy: 216.165.155.050
MMS Port: 8080
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
Auth Type: None (NOT "Not set", actually pick "None" from the menu)
APN Type: <Not set> (if it says "default, mms, whatever" delete all that and leave it blank)
Maybe something there will help, or at least get you headed in the right direction.
I think the user agent is something that can help.
First thing is that the ATRIX mms app doesn't have a feature that will allow me to change the user agent.
I tried to install CM6 mms.apk and it kind of work. But very unstable. It kept on crashing.
I tried the CM7 mms.apk and didn't work at all.
The CM mms.apk have built in feature to allow changing user agent.
Is there any stable mms.apk I can use with ATRIX?
By the way, on my.T-Mobile.com site, I selected MyTouch 4G as my phone. May be that can have T-Mobile think I have a native T-Mobile phone. Sure hope so.
I am racking my brain trying to think of who it was who had the exact same question. Changing to the nexusone user agent fixed it. I believe you can't change to any phone, because MMS size is set per the capabilities of the phone with T-Mobile.
Read one post where someone set their user agent to iPhone and this fixed it for them.

I gotcha. Sorry. I'm using GoSMS.
Might be an edit to the mms.apk that is needed.
Yes need a mod to the Text Message app that is built into ATRIX. But I am not a developer so out of luck there.
But definitely a user agent issue. I tried the CM6 mms.apk. it is very unstable but does get mms in larger size.
I'm having this same issue on an unlocked Galaxy Nexus GSM running T-Mobile in the USA. Anyone have any luck figuring it out?

Rogers LTE w/ CM9/AOKP/AOSP ROMS

So I've been struggling to get LTE working with CM9/AOKP/AOSP ROMS.
It seems that our US brothers with ATT don't have a problem.
I have been adding the LTE APN, redoing the APN's provided with these ROMS to the LTE APN to no avail.
It ends up being one typing change that solved my problem. Thanks to a source who found this info on the Skyrocket Forums.

When using an APN loading program, ther internet + MMS are options that come up in a menu. It seems that if you manually type them in like this, the modem doesn't like it. The asterisk does the trick.

Also in the Mobile Networks Menu - Don't forget to select LTE/WCDMA/GSM in the Network Mode Menu!
And you can go ahead and delete the other APNS. To do that, just click on it, so it lists its own data, click on the menu button, select delete.

For Bell I noticed you may get it working if you click the national data roaming option. Give it a reboot and you should see 4G for LTE.

Worked! Thank you so much... now just to get the camera to work properly and I'm set.
Damn, too bad Niagara Region doesn't have LTE and it doesn't look like we are getting it any time soon.
i flashed the ics leak. Before flashing it, I had lte working perfectly on Koodo. Now, the only time my data seems to work is when I am near my home area.
I used to enjoy LTE while in my work area, now I just get a forbidden error on any website i try to go to, speedtest even give a network error.
What is weird, is that firefox works. None of my apps, gmail, or built in web browser will work, but firefox will.
I am thinking I will flash back to stock Rogers and see if that helps. Maybe it was the kernal or radio change?

Post the APN you are getting with the new leak. Maybe we can see what's going on there.
Possibly a modem issue as well as you mentioned.

I ran Appdroid Objection rom and had issues with LTE. When i tried to edit the APN, it was same as above, you can't manually enter the information. Instead, you are given 3 options.

As abulbulia said above. Your situation with Kudo may be similar to my situation with Rogers.
Edit your APN and remove the "internet + MMS" field. Leave it blank, or put in an asterisk. DON'T FORGET TO SAVE after you've made the edit.
The connection should reset right away, watch your connection bars.
Also remember to select LTE/GSM in the Network Mode menu.
When in doubt, give it a reboot after.
Good luck!
Are your 3 options:
DELETE APN
SAVE
DISCARD
If so, click on the actual item you want to edit, and you should be able to edit.

TMobile APN settings for MMS on DNA

I have tried every configuration i know of,.I can not get MMS to work all the time. I can force it through gosms but the phone will auto change my apn and i have to change it back reboot and then it will work until the phone changes it again. Does any one know of a full setting that will stick and allow MMS to work fully.
Attached is what settings I currently have, but the phone will change the apn type to "default, hidi" or something like that. I have also tried the
Code:
APN: T-Mobile MMS
Proxy: None
Port: None
Username :none
Password: none
Server: none
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms.wapenc
MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.050
MMS port: 8080
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
settings and they still do not work.
Help please, Love this phone but want the full experience out of it
I can tell you the problem right now as I had to do a lot of online searching. I'll make it easy for you though.
Change APN type to: default,supl,mms
Edit: Also keep in mind that the phone will default back after a reboot so you'll have to change the APN type again. That's what is keeping you from MMS. Trust me!

Ok finally got it to work. I have done some major investigation but It works until a reset then all you have to do is change a simple setting to correct it
To get it to work first you have to put in your sim card. The phone will put in the generic TMO settings for APN. After that you have to go edit the settings. Change them to
Name: T-Mobile US
APN: epc.tmobile.com
Proxy: 216.155.165.050
Port: 8080

MMS Port: 8080
MMS Protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 310
MNC: 260

After that you have to go to the play store and download GOSMS pro (free app). Once it is installed open it up, go through their tutorial. Hit menu then go to settings, once there go to advance, scroll to the bottom and hit mms settings then scroll to the bottom of it put a check in the “fill apn configuration manually” box. Then you will set your MMSC to" http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc " then your proxy to : " 216.155.165.050 " then your port to " 8080 ". Hit the back button and you are good to go. After that you will have MMS working (may get a did not download message but the pic did download. If you reboot you will have to go in and edit your APN to clear out the default apn type, save it and good to go

yeah i select my carrier and tried to send a mms and it fails after like 10 minutes. I go to edit apn and the it crashes (well not crash but gives sim card error
that's strange I just tried vipers new rom but it still wont allow mms went back to virtous and I can send mms no problem
Ok this is what's working for me for the last 3 days
Install any GSM rom
Turn data off
Down load market enabler from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1175856&d=1341372763 run it set provider
Down load apn global run it set and backup your apns
Reboot turn on data
Now you can send mms
You will need to open apn global and restore your backup apns everytime you reboot. And make sure data is set to off first
I know this is a pita but its what works I have done numerous reboots for the last 3 days and is works everytime

APN protocol: IPv4
APN roaming protocol: IPv4
APN enable/disable: APN enabled (only APN in my list)
Bearer: Unspecified
MVNO type: None
MVNO value: Not set
now i have tried Port: 80 or none and MMS: proxy.mvno.tracfone or mms2.tracfone.com or mms3.tracfone.com or att2.tracfone.com but none of them let me send a picture at all. this all worked on CM 10.1.3 and Biftor before but they both was Jelly Bean.
Please help.
In comparison to mine, it looks like your APN's are wrong.
First, the mmsc should be as you have it, but remove the dash (-) and replace it with a full stop (.).
Second, your MMS proxy should be 66.209.11.33
Remember to reboot once you've tried this.

I do have Mr.Cook's modem version I777UCLK3 installed but i do have other modems on my extsd card saved and they are
I777UCLK3_modem.zip
I777UCLL6_modem.zip
I777UCDM8_modem.zip
S959GUDLG1_modem.zip (originally my old stock modem)
but i feel like i should flash a new modem but not sure if one will work.
Alright, here is my setup exactly:
Name: StraightTalk AT&T
APN: att.mvno
MMSC:http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS proxy: 66.209.11.33
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
APN type: default,supl,mms
I'm on UCMD8, but I've used these settings across numerous modems. Try deleting the other apn's you currently have and create a new one using my settings. If you've entered everything properly, selected the new APN and rebooted, your texting should work without trouble.

I'm flashing back my stock modem but i cant use any other APN type but wap.tracfone or my phone wont connect to data at all
also would turning Airplane mode on then off work as well or does it got to be a full reboot or can it be a soft reboot?
I cannot send MMS with Hangouts on Omnirom. Hangouts crashes. Using stock messaging or Handcent works but is not always reliable; it works like 80% of the time.
I haven't figured out the problem. I suspect its a KK problem, not a rom or apn or modem issue.

Well, MMS works with the stock messaging app for me but try the following:
try Play Store for Hangouts app updates
or try update your build to the current build 20140119 from OpenDelta
best ideas from me.
