Any hope?

Im not really sure how it came to this but my 3d is i guess "semi-bricked"
I was one of the lucky few who plagued themselves with the VM firmware. I successfully downgraded per the instructions, but i wanted to unroot my phone completely. I follwed the unroot instructions and wrote the fastboot secure flag 3 at the last step and it took fine but now my radio is no longer working. By radio i mean my actual signal coming into the phone. It says no service with an x next to the signal bars. Any thoughts. Im currently on locked hboot 1.5 S-On with the latest sprint firmware from the OTA update. This is the only problem. Everything else in the OS works fine. I tried RUUs and PG86IMGs and they go thru but dont bring back radio service...
Have you checked your APN settings???

Sprint radio compatability

I currently have an evo 3d. I'm running the latest ICS roms and noticed that my service is terrible. I have read that the radio isn't very good and I'm not the only one having this issue. Is it possible to flash a different radio on the new ICS roms or do they require the current radio only. Oh, and this is on the sprint CDMA network. Thanks for any help...
Nope just has to be for the Evo 3d I use the gb radio on ics even though I get better service on the ics one

In theory, you could flash a Verizon radio to a Sprint phone. I haven't tried it since pre 4G days. For instance, I had Sprint's HTC Hero and I would flash radios made for Verizon's HTC Eris. But only when the Eris would have a newer radio available. I never had an issue. I wouldn't try flashing a WiMax or LTE radio. I bet the developer Toast would have more input as to whether it is still possible or not. I wouldn't just go flashing them because that's pretty much the only way to brick your phone.

[Q] Where can I download the Radios for the EVO LTE?

Hello,
My EVO LTE used to get somewhat consistent LTE connection. Now I have flashed many roms and recently done an S-Off and noticed that the Radio is a lot worse now. Where can I flash the latest radios, modem, etc.?
Thanks

Can I flash a older radio?

My EVO LTE is s-off with hboot 1.12. I installed the latest jelly bean firmware through the bootloader and my radio is now 1.12.11.1119. I've noticed my 3g speeds are much slower and was wondering if I could flash a previous radio. I've done some searching and everything I have read says trying to downgrade my firmware will brick my EVO. Can I flash only the radio through recovery? Thanks for any help.
Yes

Thanks.
Do not downgrade radio if you don't want a paper device.

I think it may be possible to do but it is a very big risk. If you are going to attempt it, you better have insurance. Let us know what happens
I do it. I've never had a problem. I only use the radio from captain throwback zip files. The new radio stinks. My days as home went from900 kbs to 200. I switched to last radio and data came back.

DO NOT DO IT. I did not read Captain's warning in red letters, at themikmik.com, and my phone got bricked. Radios could be rolled back with the OG EVO, but the LTE is a different beast.

I was able to flash an older radio but it didn't help with my 3g speeds at all. I then reinstalled the latest firmware to get the latest radios back. I think sprint was just extra slow for a few days because my speeds are back to normal.
Are your guys who are bricks wiping dalvik and cache? I don't understand why some can and some can't. I bet it's the production date of the phone. Who knows?

[Q] Is the Virgin Mobile Evo the 3D or V?

I've recently gone through hell trying to root and install ROMs on my friend's HTC Evo for Virgin Mobile. Something I just noticed is that it seems the 3D and V are two variants of the same phone. Is the V the only version of the Evo on Virgin Mobile? If so, does this mean I should look for ROMs/root guides specifically for the V or should the 3D guides be exactly the same? The bootloader shows it as shooter, which means it's a CDMA 3D, but everything referring to Virgin Mobile shows the phone as the V. Can someone clear this up?
The virgin mobile variant of the 3d is the Evo V, only use ROMs from the CDMA dev thread or you will get bootloops

Thanks. I've had a huge headache with my friend's Evo. It got stuck in a bootloop not because I'm not using CDMA ROMs, but because I can't find any ROMs that work with hboot 1.58. And any RUU I use tells me the hboot it's attempting to install is an older version and the update fails, so it's a real mess.
