Thanks can u tell me what the name of the post is or post a link .
Anyone know where nv_data.bin file is stored. I've heard it's not in the efs partition. Is it located somewhere else hidden in unmountable bml?
It should be in the same location as the At&t Skyrocket. The Galaxy S unlocker app checks in the /efs however the snapdragon based models do not store the nv_data.bin there.

Is there a way to remove all the at&t bloatware without rooting? I was wondering because my note is on the way and i wanna keep it stock.thx in advance

Short answer: Ney.
Long answer: Neyy! You need root access to access the system files, and that's where the system files (well duuh!) are.
Root = Administrator
No root, no fun
Ok thx....that sucks though

Well dude, blame AT&T it's them who add all that junk and they always do it, so you should've gotten an international Note. BTW this isn't the AT&T Note forum either.
Sorry...i didnt realize this wasnt for the at&t note...i cant find that forum!

Moved To Note I717 General
Please post all related questions in said forum. I will leave a redirect to help you. Or just type "note" into the "find your device" in the header of this page, two versions will show up
well at least on my note, in task manager shows a bunch of the bloatware as downloaded apps that you can uninstall right from it, without having to go into the system.

Look 2 posts up, this was apparently in another forum at first.
I just got my ATT note brand new on Ebay. I looked through the forums and it give bit and pieces on how to get the phone to run on T mobil network.
Can some one post exactly from the beginning on what needs to be done in detail to get a new ATT Note to work with t mobil.
Does it need to be rooted, what program ect.
Thanks

I was wondering if anyone can give me advice on theming from cm10 to use on my samsung galaxy s3. I brought a theme for cm when i was using it now ive gone back to stock omega v36 but missing my theme. Any help appreciated
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
well for one you WONT be getting any help in this forum, i dont know if you realized this but you posted in "Galaxy Note II, Galaxy S III Developer Discussion [Developers Only]" which is meant for developers only "This forum is only for high-level discussion about Galaxy Note II & Galaxy S III development (kernel modification, coding, building ROMs, etc). **Please do not post here if you are not a developer or your post will be deleted.**" So chances are this will be deleted before you see it, but there is a section "Themes and Apps " post there and I am sure someone will help, but this isnt the correct place for it.

Well if you looked first at the forums you may find information .
But as you are such an ars ole no wonder you get no help .
A clue CM will not transfer to Samsung you would need a total rebuild of the framework and more .
jje
No not an arse hole just someone trying to get some information so no need for the names as i wasnt getting rude like yourself. I was just simply saying when your new on here everyone fobs you off and more interested in telling you can you not write certain things on here. I paid for my xda app so not a rip off just think sometime people should try and help, share the knowledge.

themes are rom dependent..so the theme which you bought for cm will not work on stock tw..as the frameworks are different..you can start from the beginning and have a look at the theming guides..

So here's the situation... I traded my note 2 straight up for the s4...the guy said he bought it at best buy... I'm extremely happy with the s4 except the guy updated the phone so no root... I saw that one member called Verizon and got a new phone sent to him bc he said it was dropping calls and stuff... My question is: how could I send this phone back for a new one?! Will Verizon except it? Or best buy? Any ideas?!

Personally I'd go on Craigslist and be real straight forward about your situation. Toss in a 20-30$ incentive and you'll find a pre update s4 in no time
There is a reason that you're given two eyes, two ears, two hands and only one mouth.

I could be wrong but I think once the phone changes owners there is no returning. You may be able to go through Samsung's warranty if its broke but I doubt any store will take it back.

Do you mean you aren't able to root it because the guy did a new update. If so, this website: galaxys4root.com will help you out with updated s4 root

Or he could go HERE in the root bounty thread, and read the actual source of the root method instead of reading a second hand report of the method.

Why would you suggest another website using this one? The root method is already posted here.

A couple of disclaimers:
I'm not a developer. Please forgive me if the answer is obvious. It's not apparent to me
I made the mistake of installing the OTA. Believe me, I know it was a mistake. A really big mistake. Please don't rub it in.
-------------------
So, in the course of researching unlocking the bootloader, I came across an article that outlines freeing an OTA-locked bootloader..... on an international Galaxy Note II (N7100). There are plenty of warnings about how this will NOT work on other variants.
I'm curious why something like this won't work on our phone. Are we missing a critical file, is there a particular exploit they've got or perhaps something else holding us back?
For those interested, here's the link. I echo the author's warning: DON'T try this on anything but the phone model listed there (the N7100).

Not possible unless somebody makes a modified bootloader and that's unlikely. Also 7100 is gsm 3g only note 2 not at&t.

Fixed the model reference - thanks.
I take it someone would have to successfully hack the current bootloader to modify it. I wonder at how this was accomplished for the N7100 - if they hacked that bootloader or something was leaked that allowed the work-around.
Oh well. Time to save up for a developer-model phone. I'm never buying a phone with a locked bootloader again, that's for sure.
In the meantime, threads like this do give me hope: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2502464
