Hi,so I've got my first android phone, an UK Samsung galaxy S2 GT-i9100p with NFC, and I want to get rid of all of the orange logos and apps. Can I flash an official GT-i9100 firmware on my GT-I9100P and then enable Signal boost and NFC? If so, can I get a guide on how to do it as I am scared to brick my phone.
here are my phone details:
model number: GT-I9100P
Android version: 2.3.4
baseband version: I9100PBVKI2
kernel version: 2.6.35.7-I9100PBVKI3-CL608158 [email protected] #2
build number: GINGERBREAD.BVKI3
Thanks indeed.

Thank you. One more question: What firmware should i choose as there are hundreds of them?
I don't really have one to recommend, but generally the latest (non-unstable ICS) would be the most wise choice, which is probably the "frankenstein" XWLA4.
So generally i just download the Frankestein XWLA4 firmware and flash it via Odin? Sorry for asking noobish questions.
Yes thats what will work .

Thank you guys so much! I finally got rid of all that orange crap!

Hello! Got the same from Orange.
I have tested Chainfire and Sayiah Kernels, they doesn't modify NFC abilities (so it's ok).
However, our I9100P are yet very poorly supported, due to GS2 NFC being "lost" in the flood of previous "old" nfc.
Support may come from AOSP 2.3.7 (yet, max is 2.3.5)
I haven't tested custom roms yet.
TIP : Backup STOCK ROM using kTool 1.23 or the ZergRush exploit.
>Won't tell you how to since it's too late for me
Have fun!
Hi guys,
i've just received my new Samsung galaxy s2 phone. I'm not sure what tutorial to follow and where to get the correct I9100PBVKI3 file from.
MODEL: GT-I9100P
ANDROID VERSION: 2.3.4
BASEBAND VERSION: I9100PBVKI2
KERNEL: [email protected] #2
BUILD NO: GINGERBREAD.BVKI3
Could anyone help me ASAP pls!
Thank You
PS: This is the new NFC model.
Hi, I also have just got hold of a GT-I9100P model. It's branded with orange, and the orange bloatware and apps are getting me down.
Does someone have the 'official' GT-I9100P ROM/image for the 'unlocked/unbranded' variant of this?
Many thanks in advance
If they do then it will be in the Stock roms post.

Hi all,
I have bought a second hand Samsung Galaxy S 2 in China.
The Android version installed is 2.3.3; I tried to do an update via Kies but I got the infamous message that "firmware update is not supported" for my device. I understand from other posts in the forum that maybe the firmware installed is not matching with the original region of the device, in this case I should install the right firmware in order to get the support from Kies, am I right?
But my question is...how do I know the original firmware/region for my model?
The data of the device are the following:
Model Number: GT-I9100
Android Version: 2.3.3
Baseband version: I9100XXKE4
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKE7-CL215725 [email protected] #2 (does this mean the phone has been rooted?)
Build Number: QUENS.GINGERBREAD.XWKE7
Plus, when I connect to Kies the current firmware version detected is:
I9100XWKE7/I9100XEUKD1/I9100XXKE4/I9100XWKE7 (DBT)
Sorry for the noob question, I tried to figure out from the sticky post and used search but I am still confused...(yes, I got intimidated by the welcoming video of the forum)
Thanks

NO its the signature
Build Number: QUENS.GINGERBREAD.XWKE7
That reads as a custom rom by Quens ???
Plus, when I connect to Kies the current firmware version detected is:
I9100XWKE7/I9100XEUKD1/I9100XXKE4/I9100XWKE7 (DBT)
If its a i9100 and no other version pick a stock rom from the stock roms posts .
With later firmware and to match region phone is used in .

Hi, I want to update my SGS2 to 4.0.4 I'm on 4.0.3. Which is the best stock room with 4.0.4? I bought it unlocked.
There is my room:
Model: GT-I9100
Android version: 4.0.3
Baseband version: I9100UHLPE
Build number: IML74K.UHLPE
Kernel: stock.
I dont know which region is my room, so I dont know which version of 4.0.4 is better for me.
If I change my region, I will able to receive OTA updates? or via KIES?
Thanks in advance.

Firstly its "Rom" not "Room".
Second, there are plenty of topics on stock roms and how to flash the. Use search or browse button.
