if you still see the Samsung splash, you need to odin the gingerbread bootloaders.. Then you will see the glitch splash. I'm not sure how to customize that.. So I'll step aside and let someone else answer

Yea this happened to me as well lol. I downloaded the wrong odin files. Rookie mistake... just find a T-Mobile Samsung vibrant odinable jfd rom. Should be in the vibrant Bible. It could also be one click for vibrant, I can't remember.

Does it tell you there's no Tom installed in the slot even if there is a name? Once I ran out of room on my SD and it seemed like it finished but never had the finished notification every time I tried to boot the Tom it told me no rom installed. What size SD are you using? How much is free? Are you trying to use a sense miui or aosp rom? I have had certain roms refuse completely to flash. If you still can't email the Dev im sure he would help you and make sure you read the FAQ in his webpage.

high community i have been trying to change the ugly vibrant boot splash but i cant seem to find a way .i almost did but the package was removed due to some one complaining about the dev. i know it can be done because im running the gingerbread boot loaders for the vibrant but i wanted to change the image to the google image like in the nexus any ideas?
If you're already on the gb bootloaders you can use this guide. It's in the Captivate forums, but also works on the Vibrant. Worked perfectly for me.

These will not be compatible with CM7 (due to the proprietary fs used on param.lfs)...
straight from that op, if i need to explain why that doesnt work with ICS then you shouldnt be trying to do this in the first place

No explanation needed I know this but I'd figure I give it a go anyways however I'm actually working on a rom that is free from Google in every way . There are some very disturbing things about how Google collects and saves info on us all .if I'm unsuccessful then I'll get a blackberry or just a no frills phone .thanks

Couple questions..
Do you have source that you can post?
And what methods did you do to get a ROM set up on this device?
Ok sorry I was sick for a little bit but I do have a source that I can upload and I will upload what I was able to do.

Thanks a lot for your initiative.
Feel great to see new developer for L9. Hoping for the best. Best of Luck.:good:
You could hook up with these guys who are planning a rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2136391
Also in the "Original Android Development" sub-forum there are some roms being started.
It may be better if Devs team together and pool resourses.

L9 is at the stage where Group effort is very important. The idea which one can conceive is not necessary other would conceive too. Different persons can solve problems like this (not all) faster than a single person, by sharing ideas and suggesting changes and helping each others in changes and experiments. Goodluck to all.
I am the owner of a rooted t-mobile vibrant. Useing odin to root it flashed an at&t splash screen instead of the pink t-mobile one. I know its possible but how?. I've searched for two days trying to figure this out and all i can get is how to change the boot animation that i already know how to do! Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

That is the kernel splash screen you're referring to. No one likes that sound or logo from my experience so your only going to find that on stock. If you want it that bad just flash back to stock 2.1 with Odin, changing a logo of a kernel is complicated to say the least. You can check this link out though http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1971915
