i was using android lost, it seem to broken my pin lock function.. now when i set pin, and try to unlock with the same pin(4digit) it kept saying wrong althought i was correct. any solution?
After uninstalling android lost, changed keypad to default samsung things are still the same. is there a way to clear cache the android system lock? i think it's bugged now due to android lost.
You can't reset the lock. Otherwise a lock would be pointless as anybody could wipe it and get in

I changed the lock screen code on my phone and need help to recover or reset it any help would be appreciated its the samsung galaxy 3 sph-l710 thanks in advance!
I think after several failed attempts it will prompt you to input your Gmail account. Let me test for you and see if it does.
Edit: And that was a resounding failure on my part. I'm not sure what you can do besides maybe doing a factory reset through Odin? This is my first Samsung phone so I'm not familiar with Odin yet.

I don't think a pin code security will ask for gmail after a few failures like the pattern security will, if you have a nandroid, then maybe restore. I don't think security settings will stick across nandroids yet.

thanks you your input. i've tried over 50 x's lol and it has yet to prompt me for my e-mail. and the phone is still new to me and i have not rooted yet. so no nandroid for me. im on the phone with sprint as i type this. I will report back my results for others to learn from my mistake
Can't you still access your recovery to perform a factory reset? Turn the phone off, then hold vol up, home, and power until the Samsung screen flickers, and when your stock recovery opens there should be an option for factory reset. If not just choose reboot to system. You'll have to set everything back up but at least you'll be able to access your phone again.

cant you change the password via Samsung Dive ?
Today I wiped /data and installed the latest CM9 nightly(+gapps from goo.im). The home button never does anything except turns on the screen. When the screen turns on, it unlocks instead of showing the lock screen. I do have /efs/imei/keystr and it contains ON and is set to -rw-rw-r--. (sorry if I wrote that sentence wrong, the file and permissions are what the Internet says is correct) I tried wiping dalvik-cache and fixing permissions, and now the lock screen shows up directly after entering my PIN code, but never otherwise. The home button also works a second after the PIN screen, but then stops working.
Sorry if I wrote something wrong, can't multitask to double-check with no home key.

I had exactly the same problem on CM9 and I never found a fix that worked I even tried full wipe and that didn't work. Did you ever find a solution?
Nope, still having the problem Maybe another ROM could fix it?

Fixed it. The gapps I used were somehow faulty, so another version of gapps fixed it.

Swyped from my Galaxy SII
I'm on LS and have a Screenlock issue. At first I could get it and choose whatever option, but if I chose pattern I would get the error message that unfortunately settings have stopped. I went back in and tried different pattern sizes and eventually it just kicked me out of lockscreen to the point I can't get in!
Is anyone else having this problem? Anyone know how to fix it?
This happened to me on one of their previous version but I believe for pin not pattern...
I have exact same problem, cant set a lock for the phone
Same here... Setting has stopped.

I have the exact same problem, and I can't find a way to solve it.
-sorry to bring this topic up-
UPDATE:
I restarted the device and it worked... not sure why
I changed the lock screen password on my device after entering a new one when encrypting the SD card. Sadly, I forgot where I put the note with the new password and I have locked myself out of the phone.
I have tried everything I know to get to some type of back door, but without any success. And there doesn't seem to be any info out there on how to get past the lock screen without doing a factory reset. Does anyone know of a way or a tool I can find which can get me past the lock screen? I currently have the a rooted SCH-i605 running 4.3, which I removed all the bloatware and rogue apps from, and I would hate to have to start all over again. But unfortunately, the only thing I can think of to so is to wipe it clean and start from scratch..
If anyone has been through this and knows a tool or a work around to my issue, please let me know ASAP!
Thanks
I think factory reset is your only option if you can't remember the password. If there was a work around, encrypting the phone would be a worthless feature.
Sorry mate,
Merrell
