Since the latest update to my Xperia Arc, McAfee keeps popping up in the notification area. If I uninstall the app, it will come back after reboot.
Is there a way to disable or totally remove McAfee in Xperia S?
Thanks.
Just keep removing it and after a few reboots it won't come back anymore.

You can now root and then reinstall and see if that helps. If you are not keen try factory reset.

Hi,
got a xpera s for my mom. Everything stock, no apps installed and even widgets on homescreen are not changed (only social widgets removed), freezed all the bloatware. The phone has many wakelocks, bbs shows 30% alarms. But as the phone isn't rooted it's not able to detect the alarms. Does anyone know the issue from his phone?
Is it updated to 2.50 firmware?
Tapatalked Xperia S
2.45. The phone says there was no update
Did anyone notice that Sony keeps on pushing files to our devices.
The sony ereader appeared on the Sony Tablet S.
Today when using chmod, it seems that Sony modifyed it so now I cannot use it unlike before I can use it.
Its like saying that Sony can do what ever they like to our devices unless we block them with the hosts file in /system/etc/
That really bothers me, they know which command you execute and they make it has you need to be rooted to use the binary.
I mean why Sony?, at least let the Sony Tablet S be suitable for development, I cannot change permissions at all anymore on my Sony Tablet S onto shell scripts.
You know what ths means, Sony can probably can get you unrooted which is a major issue.
EDIT: I just sent an email to Sony about the issues like this one here, root, locked bootloader and APX mode. I simply had enough of the issues.
oooop!
technically sony can do that and anything, but why?
there are so many device in users hand, trace everyone is a real hard work.
and once this is confirm, sony need say many sorry to users.
I believe the apps (i.e., Reader by Sony, etc.) are not being "pushed" by Sony; instead, they are being automatically updated via Google's Play Store app. If you do not want apps to be updated, go into Play Store's Settings and turn off Auto-update apps.

No, that was disabled on my side so no, it could be anything that is allowing such thing, from the looks of it, you can root the Sony Tablet S if you can get control of such thing if you know what is allowing the over the network security hole.
Plus, the application was not there before and from the looks of it, not replacing any applications at all.

Since I'm not getting any replies over in the XPERIA T/TL/TX/V forum, I though I'd try it here.
Each time I connect my XPERIA V to the charging dock, the 500px app starts up. I cannot seem to prevent this simply by revoking the app all autostart rights. As it appears, connecting the phone to the dock causes some kind of "open any photo-related app" action. By default, the SmartConnect software will start the SenseMe slideshow when the dock connects. No matter whether I keep all default actions or create custom actions in SmartConnect, 500px starts up and immediately crashes.
Does anyone experience anything similar with their Android device and the 500px app or a related photo app? It's pretty annoying and so far the only solution seems to be either freezing or uninstalling the 500px app.
Tech note: I'm using a Sony XPERIA V LT25i device with the latest 9.1.A.1.140 firmware and Android 4.1.2. The dock I'm using is the Sony DK25 model which is built specifically for the XPERIA V and only provides charging funcionality.
Any help will be appreciated.
