Hi,
I purchased the TG01 in February and I have lost my temper with it because it's so horrible, but I know there are a few developers out there looking for a real device to work with, so I thought I'd sell it.
I'm looking for anything over £65, It's in good working order with a few scratches on the screen and it's generally in OK condition, but the speaker is quite quiet.
If you're interested please reply to this thread.
Thanks
PS, I will consider swapping phones if you want

Hold that thought, we might be able to buy it from you for the Android project if we can raise the money. £65 shouldnt be too difficult to raise!
Please dont sell it before speaking to us about it.

.. is there an Android TG-01 developer fund - I'll contribute if you're able to buy a cheap TG-01
i'll contribuite too..
I have posted in the Android discussion thread and Alex has kindly offered to hold the donations:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=672234&page=25
decide between yourselves if you will and start a donations thread and get the money rolling. Someone needs to pm tjcooper17 to ask him if hes still got it and whether he's happy to wait until the money is raised.
I'll ask dzo (or any developer users recommend with a track record for Android development) once we have confirmation that the purchase is going to happen.
Best of luck
tjcooper17 can you post some pics of the device since you say it has some scratches and also what comes with the phone, is the box, charger and everything with it and lastly is it sim locked to orange or unlocked?
Hi guys,
I'm in Shaftesbury, Dorset. The device is locked to Orange, I'll post some pictures in just a minute and I'll send it with everything I got in the box:
Phone
Charger
Manuals
USB to PC Lead
CD Drivers
I should be able to get you the device including delivery for £70 if that's OK.
Pictures in just a second
I'm having real trouble uploading the pictures at the moment, is there an email address i can send them to?

Well, I believe him anyways
@tjcooper17:
What about making the pictures smaller?
Than you could place them here at xda as an attachment on your next post.
Sorry to butt in on this thread! We have a donation thread for TG01 Android development :

.. and a direct link to PayPal :

.. so far, £15 has been donated
Regards,
Alex.
OK I've compressed them quite a bit, didn't realise how big they were.
thanks for the pics.
The thread for the donations has been closed down by mods.. I'll pm the mod on how we can do this without collecting money on here. The only other way I can think of is if enough people pledge to put money towards the phone, then we donate to you directly.
Leave it with me.

It appears that the word donations is contentious.
So if we want to do this, the best thing is everyone PLEDGES what they are willing to put towards a device on this thread, once we have enough money and a developer who wants to help, we can pay tjcooper17 someway and get him to send the device to the developer.
Sorry about the mess, I guess these things are there to protect xda users from fraudulent transactions so its probably wise not to ignore them.
On that note, I will say if anyone has any suggestions how this can be done without hickups, please feel free to put your ideas forwards.
Lastly, Endrix is the lead developer here, I have been asked why I am not accepting the device myself, it is simply because I do not possess the reverse engineering skills to take this project forward and neither do I have the time to learn to do so.
I am quite happy to help out where I can and look forward to purchasing a tg01 if android is successfully ported to it which I look forward to being a part of.
Heya all N9 fans! We all want Nokia N9 development thread on XDA, right?
Let's vote this in hope that the moderators will hear our voice and will create a separate thread.
Give your vote in the poll above and don't forget to Submit Thread!
Thanks and cheers!
whats so special about the n9? any development that requires a dedicated thread?
First of all it is a smartphone which has an open source platform and it lacks developers; the more users/fans it will have - the more it will attract developers to work around it.
Secondly, this is a great piece of machinery with a cool OS. Beside that, an Android OS could theoretically be ported to this device and XDA is one of few communities that could bring to this great phone/OS some further development, by that giving more chances for life, as Nokia has officially resigned from MeeGo project.

The only thing that will help development for this phone is that developers have this phone. The problem with that is it wasnt sold world wide. Not many people have this phone. Having a spot on XDA will not bring developers to a phone with a discontinued OS on it.
@zelendel: Can't disagree with that, but now the phone is available on e-Bay (which is quite world wide), with a more realistic price of around 500$.
The thing is that this little piece of machinery has impressed me a lot. But I wouldn't risk to buy it unless I can see that the phone will have a future. And I believe that threads like this will show us very clearly what is N9's destiny

The petition from change.org is totally wrong. That petition was geared towards ARM, when really it should be for Qualcomm. This new petition is for Qualcomm (so the near 10000 signatures on that other petition are pretty much useless; the only use I can see in them is if Qualcomm is swayed by the number of people supporting the cause).

So far, these are the only responses I have seen from Qualcomm (on twitter):
Jun 13: Thanks for your interest. We're considering any possible solutions and will let you know when we have an update.
Jun 15: We're considering any possible solutions and will keep you posted when we have an update. Thanks for your interest!
Jun 16: Thanks for your interest in the OMX drivers. We're considering possible solutions & we'll keep you posted when we have an update.

I'm hoping the wording means something. First they said "we're considering any possible solutions" but now it's "we're considering possible solutions." I might be taking things too far, but by taking out the "any," it sounds like they might have some solutions. Once again, I might just be getting my hopes high.
But onto something more important than wording:
I think instead of asking "please release the drivers," the question should now be "have you found any solutions regarding the omx drivers" or maybe even "what chance do ARMv6 phones have of getting updated omx drivers." I'm hoping for a more definite answer (I'd rather hear that we will not get it instead of waiting for an update that will never come). Can someone ask any of these questions (or a better question if you have one) on their page, preferably twitter because they don't seem to be too active on their facebook page and on their forum).
If they have totally forgotten about us (or are not actually trying to find such solutions), this will remind them that they gave us their word that they will find solutions.
In case you were wondering why I posted this out of nowhere, it is because:
1. Support for this "cause" seems to be dying down now. I don't want it to come to a point where we all just give up and deal with what we have, which is a bug-ridden rom. We can look for more support, but I think it's time we get a somewhat definite answer from Qualcomm.
2. I'm sick of CM7
Of course, we must remember that they don't have to do this and, whether they are successful or not, appreciate that they even replied to our request in the first place.
If they have msm7227a with just the same hardware, but arm7 core, I can't understand why they can't just recompile it for arm6? Strong kernel dependencies?
I think this might be marketing-related.

Definitely agree with you. I don't think a company has any reason to drop support for any of its older products other than to force users to buy the newer products. Really makes it pointless to buy anything at all because they will always release newer products. I just hope Qualcomm lives up to the reputation it set for itself after releasing the Adreno drivers last time.
And I know for a fact that Qualcomm has the power to recompile for ARMv6. After all, Qualcomm did it with the Adreno drivers.

They still may answer 'NO' .
The situation makes me think they might have some marketing agreement on this, not to release updates until their partners are able to sell newer models. They are highly dependent on selling end products after all. If they release them too soon, chinese market might be overfilled with cheap arm6-driven ics devices . They already have cheap arm7 devices though...
Anyway, clear answer is highly awaited by many people watching this threads.

I think they just don't want to release them. They didn't released any code for that chip before. Totally lame.
If they won't support it, maybe we should ask for unsupported version, provided as is?
Since Skype updated to version 4 on Android, the DNA is no longer being supported and you cannot download the new version. Here is what the Skype representative had to say:

Yeah, I know it's not supported. The question is why? It's a current phone with very decent specs even now that it is around 7 months old. Are you really gonna tell me that a phone such as the DNA is not supported? What's wrong? It was supported just fine before this ****ty update you decided to put out. But seriously, even if you decide not to officially support it, why not allow the option for us to still download it? I'm sure the DNA can handle it..
Very disappointed in Microsoft.. I await your reply.

Hello XXXX,
We understand that you'd like to know why your device is not supported by Skype.
To clarify, the new 4.0 version of Skype is compatible with Android phones only. As we can see, the HTC Android DNA has the specifications of a "phablet". This means that it is a phone but has the size of a small "tablet" device.
Although most Android phones are supported by the new version of the Skype application, some are left incompatible due to the size, resolution and specification designs of the application. For this, we apologize for we are unable to provide a specific reason why it is not yet supported but we assure you that we are working on developing a version that would work with your device in the future.

If you want ro be respected, you have to give it as well. That person could have easily told you to piss off for being a whiny kid. Obviously that rep didn't know why it wasn't supported, you made yourself look like a big baby with your language and use of caps lock. You could have easily asked to be transferred to someone who may know, such as his/her manager or supervisor. Not everyone is as tech savvy as the people on this forum, cut them a damn break.

According to Peter Shih's linked in profile, he is the head of Community at ZTE, the forum people write in to. Let's hope that this head forum moderator has some pull to influence policy at ZTE back in China, where company policy originates from. Let's hope.

To the contrary, I sincerely doubt a forum moderator has any "influence". He is just paid to communicate and tally ZTE's marketing/PR spins. At best he can go through the motions.

I have posted letters from ZTE.com.cn (ZTE China) that they do not unlock bootloaders and would not be unlocking the bootloader for the Axon 7, ZTE USA messaged me and stated that ZTE China does not speak for them and that ZTE USA was planning a big anouncement, once again dancing around the issue of unlocking the bootloader. After that response I posed the question, if they unlock the USA's bootloaders, what about the UK, EU,India or China and the rest of the world, since ZTE USA does not speak for them. I was then referred to their manager who wrote me yesterday repeating the same line. Here is his letter to me.
Dear Mr _____,
We thank you again for your purchase of the Axon 7 by ZTE. This is a follow up email to clarify misinformation you received yesterday regarding the unlocking of the Bootloader. Plans are in place to enable this function in the very near future. More information can be found at https://community.zteusa.com/welcome. We greatly apologize for the misinformation and any confusion it caused. We thank you again for your patience and understanding.

Unlocking the bootloader is something that must be addressed by the parent company and have a unified response globally. ZTE USA does not deal with global issues, only local ones pertinent to their region. But they keep stringing us along with this big announcement. Is this to prevent people from returning their devices? Are we being played? Sure sounds like it.
And...unlocked.

But what is procedure? Nothing that I can see at the forum tells us how.

You fill out and submit the form in the Axon 7 developer's lounge and they provide you with instructions.

It'll be nice once the first person does it and posts back as to what the process actually is.
Here's hoping this leads to some development on the Axon 7. Maybe we can skip the whole unlocked bootloader thing with an exploit of some kind and go straight to TWRP and root
