Error 403
I have the same problem with only one free app. All paid apps will get the update without problems, but for this one free app the update will not work.
It is the same with Wifi and with mobile net.

I had that problem too after flashing 2 roms and restoring all my apps twice within a short amount of time. I think there is some kind of limit on how much you can download from the market in a certain time period. If you go over that limit I think Google bans you from downloading for 24 hours. For me it went away in a day.

That may be, but I don't think it's the cause of this issue. I haven't been downloading much and I have the 403 error on one app I've been trying to update. In addition, I have been able to update other apps during the two days this issue has been going on.

Having this problem aswell. Cannot download apps I paid for...

same issue here as well...
trying to get root explorer on my touchpad and its giving me an 403 error... same thing on my nexus... couldnt download it... has to restore it from a backup...
anyone got any news on this issue?

Ironically, cause I'm using it, I had this problem with buying tapatalk.
It said it was bought but I couldn't download it. Couldn't be asked to complain... 1week later I got an email saying payment unsuccessful and that I had been refunded. Bought the app again and wallah it worked.
From my experience, just wait.

Hey guys, sorry for digging up an old topic but I am stuck with the same problem - Unable to download app due to an error (403)
This applies to previously purchased apps on a previous phone.
I tried:
- Clearing data and cache for Play Store - didn't work
- Clearing data and cache for Google Services Framework - didn't work
- Uninstalling updates for Play Store and updating all over again - didn't work
- Selecting account in Play Store settings - didn't work
- Downloading the same app from the website, so it will send it to my phone - same error ON THE WEBSITE (so it is not a network/wifi/3g/proxy problem) - didn't work
Meanwhile:
- Updating other apps - works
- Downloading free apps - works
- Purchasing another app - works
What could be the issue here guys, I'm frustrated as hell

Not working for me. Other ideas?

On my chinaphone MT6589, I had to get the update to Google Play. The version installed on the telephone gave a 403 error. When Google Play updated, the updated version worked fine. The play shortcut (top right of screen in the apps) still pointed to the original version and gave 403 errors until I uninstalled it (rooted phone).

Hello all,
Is it possible at all to stop the Play Store updating? My HTC Desire (CM7) keeps getting a 'unable to process purchase' error when trying to download any apps, even free ones. I've cleared the cache, data etc, rebooted, the whole bit. The only time I can get downloads working are if I overwrite the app with v3.4.6 I get 1 maybe 2 downloads then it updates to 3.5.15 and I have to overwrite it again...
(Sorry its a bit lengthy)
No way to stop it, sorry

Wiping cache wont work. Closing the app wont work. You need to remove the google account from settings>account and sync. Then just open google play and it will ask you to login. Just login and you wont face the error ever again.

Checked the net - there are LOADS of people having this issue, regardless of ROM being used - it seems to be something with Google Play itself. I saw a few different solutions being offered but none of them were being reported as being a definitive fix.
For me, it started with newly installed apps I had just paid for not showing up on the device - no icon, no entry to create a shortcut with the shell (in my case ADW Pro on ICS 4.0.4 stock, deodexed, rooted VZW Nexus). Strangely enough, when you went to the entry in Play, it showed as installed and you could actually open it from there. I got around this by creating an ADW launcher action - the entry for the actions DID show for the program.... go figure?
I tried clearing the cache and data on Play and rebooting. All that got me was no apps at all showing on the installed section for awhile until it updated. Then I was able to update one app, but still had the sam trouble with the original update that was causing the 403 errors.
Don't think there's any solution out there that truly works for anyone. We're going to have to let Google fix this one, but we should let them know - I already posted one bug report; the more of us that do so will put the isue on the front burner.

If you do a factory reset, all the data will be deleted. However if you remove the google account, the contacts synced with your google account will be shown again in the contacts list once you add the account again.
Faktory reset isn't the right way. I already did it.

What worked for me
Ok so after racking my brain with this issue I found the app I was trying to install / update (which was swiftkey x in this case) was purchased under my other email i used when Google Play was Android Market. So what I did was open up Google Play and for my HTC EVO 4G hit the menu button which allowed me to choose an alternate Google account. I originally purchased and installed my Swiftkey X on a different account than my Google Play was currently on. I picked the account I originally purchased Swiftkey X on, then did a search in which stated purchased, hit update and WAAAAAAAAAAAAA LAAAAAAAAAA!! no more error (403). Hope this helps. Seems like for purchased apps and maybe others Google will look to see which original account you installed it under. So if you were like me and started with one email account and changed it for one reason or another you will have to use whatever account the application was installed under in Google Play / Android Market for updates.
[side note] If you do not see your Google Account listed under Google Play account options. Ensure you have your phone setup for Syncing that particular Gmail account or else you will have to set that up first before proceeding.

RE: Google Play error
First as silly as it sounds, have you tried rebooting your phone?
Second check that its using the correct GMail account.
Third download the apk here and install over your existing installation and try again.
If any of these work or don't then post back and I'll try to help further
Yup,tried those already,still nothing
Hmmm
Right then
What phone are you using?
What have you done to it rooting wise?
What firmware are you running? (Stock or a custom rom?)
I'm assuming you are on Rogers and in Canada lol, if this isn't the same phone then what, where and which network?

I've done a lot,and I think this is where I screwed up Deleted a lot of apps/files through Titanium Backup, I've made backups too but I restored them all.

Google Play Error
Have you sorted it?
If not try this, first get a root uninstaller and remove Google play store from your phone.
This should leave you with the original market that came on your phone.
Next delete your Google account in Settings>Accounts & Sync
Now you should still have a Google Play Icon though it may have reverted back to market, open it.
When it asks for Authentication add your account back in and launch.
Leave open for a bit so that it Auto-Updates to the latest Google Play Store.
See if that works
When I try to remove the account,it tells me to do a factory reset :S
Google Play
Try creating a new disposable account and adding that in instead.
Then let Google Play Update itself before switching accounts.
Just chill out and wait till they update the play store.
That kind of hapenned to me,
It kept saying to me -error 992 - or something like that.....

Authentication error on Google Play Store

Hi Guys
I'm getting the attached error whenever I try to open Google Playstore from my cell.
I'm on Poland LIB firmware.
Things I've tried :
1) clear cache and data
2) Uninstalled updates
3) installed the latest update of Playstore
4) added a new Id (same error)
5) remove and add the previous Id
Gmail is working fine but playstore is giving me this trouble from past 12 hours.
I can log in to play.google.com without any issues.
Currently I'm accessing it through Mobile Data and have no other connection to check this if it's a connection issue or Playstore issue.
I've done no changes to anything and it was working perfectly fine till yesterday evening.
It started giving me this error all of a sudden
Help please.

I am currently suffering from this same problem. Tried everything you have. Even cleaned data/cache then disabled google play store and rebooted phone. Re-enabled play store, tried to open it... stuck loading. Recleared everything, installed google play from apk, reopen. Still stuck loading after re-entering all information. I have had different apps stop working and had to uninstall them. Reinstalling worked on other apps but when it's playstore system apps turn to fail, can't uninstall fully.
I'm rooted so I uninstalled google play with android tuner app i have bought a while ago. I rebooted the phone and did get LG security error. Sadly when google play was reinstalled, this has not fixed the problem. I am doing a factory reset. Using titanium backup and a external sd card, so restoring my apps wont be too tedious. I feel bad if anyone else encounters this problem. I still don't know how it happen.

The specifics may vary, but some general pointers to get the playstore working correctly:
1- first force stop the app when clearing cache and data, , and also do it for google play services and google services framework. Reboot with mobile data and wifi off, turn wifi or data on, then try to open playstore again.
2- repeat step 1, but also remove and add again your google account from settings before opening the playstore.
Make sure you're not using firewall apps or ad blocking apps to reestrict data on google play services, once playstore is up and running you can enable them again.
Make sure you're not using autostart managers or apps like greenify on playstore, google play services, or google services framework. You can apply them again afterwards.
Good luck.
QUICK AND DEFINITELY WORKING FIX: Just clear Google Play data and reboot. Then change your Google login password and let the device ask for new password.
Force sync and all will be back to normal....

Uninstall updates for Playstore
Clear data for Downlaod manager
Keep the phone connected to internet and reboot
after reboot wait for couple of minutes so that Playstore update will be installed properly.. Then try updating your apps..
I've tried everything
I have tried evey solution that I could possible find to try and stop getting error 927. It's definitly linked to my google account/gmail. When I create a new gmail, everything works fine. Problem is all of my purchased apps are attached to gmail with 927 error. Someone please help. I'm desperate!!!! I have Verizon Galaxy S4. What version of the play store are you running? Also, do you have the background restricted for the play store?
Try the newest Play Store if yours is not up to date. I remember the issue in my S4 and newest version solved it after wiping data and install update.

Yes its the same account I've had going all the way back to the first Android phone. It has gotten better. I ODIn'ed back from a 4.4.2 ROM to a custom 4.3 ROM and my market works most of the time. When it starts actign up I usually have to clear data/wipe caches, restart and wait a bit for it to resync my account. Kind of a pain, but working most of the time is better than none of the time.

How are the Play store on the web working for you when signed in with the account you are having issues with. For me I have trouble loading in anything @all. Especially the top list, and my purchases.
I believe there are issues with older accounts that did not get updated/patched with new settings after ICS update, or the 3.0+ update of their store when it became Play Store and not Android market. When I use my other account all is ok, but there I have no purchased apps.
If you want you can find the 2.3.6 version of Market and replace the Play store and you will find that all issues are gone. Now I use Legazy Play store witch can be used together with normal play. Just need to push it to system/apps on 4.3 or system/priv-apps on 4.4.
Use all this advise at own risk.

Anyone have any luck with this/ age of Gmail accounts?
I just recently started having this issue on a stock GS4A on at&t. Maybe a week ago could not get updates and wrote it off as a busy server then realized this weekend I could not get anything new.
I tried every fix I could find on the forums and even a fix that the 2nd tier Google tech suggested (no different from the forum fixes other than including turning the automatic date/time on and off). Every method was a band-aid at best: one or two apps can come through before I get the 927 error or the DF-BPA-30 error. At least the error codes are consistent...
I honestly think this is related to the age of my account. I have had a Gmail account since 2007 or so when I believe it was still in beta. I am surmising that older accounts are on an older server or something that is having issues. I made two dummy accounts and could download anything I wanted, so there is nothing wrong with my handset or connections. The temporary work-around I am using is adding a secondary gmail account and adding any apps through it, while still using primary for mail, contacts, and calendar. I am not a heavy user, so it works, but I should not have to patch it together like this!
So- anyone who is getting this error; how long have you been a Google user? Anyone else tried "old vs new" for a cause of the error?
When I replied to the 2nd tier tech I told him his method did not work, but asked to look into the account itself. I'll update if I have anything to say.
