i have some other higher end android phones, and just got a cute mini pro. It is much better than i expected, and I have no problem at all in using it despite its small size! Really a gem compared to other giants! Glad to have it to add to my collection!
--- oh just realized that i posted on the wrong forum, it is not a x10. will chang forum sorry~~~
Um, are you talking about X10 Mini Pro (U20) or Mini Pro (SK17)?
the one with 1Ghz processor, and 5m camera, i.e. the newer model.

Hi, I'm an old Imate JAMin user and I'm thinking about shifting to a newer device. I need a good WiFi connection, a touchscreen and decent battery timing. Can someone tell me how X10 mini pro compares to HTC Tattoo, I am being offered either at the same price. Which would you pick?
I know about Tattoo's QVGA display but do you think its worse than having a slider phone (I had to change my N80's slider strip thrice so I don't know if sliders are a good idea)
Thanks a lot to anyone who can help
Cheers
I Think
Sony Ericsson x10 mini pro
its will be better

I too am sick of fixing ribbon cables on slider phones.. so I wouldn't go for the mini pro (as this has a slider, sure to fail) the mini (E10i) on the other hand has no moving parts.. I think the Tatoo only has a 530MHZ CPU (the mini and mini pro are 600MHZ)
the mini and pro boot loader is locked down by sony ericsson.. so if you are really into hacking and modding I would go for the Tatoo (however we can do a lot of cool mods without a hacked boot loader)
Personal taste.. but I think the mini/pro is higher spec in just about every area than the Tatoo.. and designed much better. another option might be the X8 (a bit cheaper, slightly bigger higher res screen, lower MP camera but otherwise the same as mini and Pro) and seems to be heaps of DEV support on here too.
Good luck with your choice.. and if you go for a mini or a mini Pro we are always here to help out.
Kiwi
SE Mini Pro
Enough said.
I had both firs htc Tattoo and now mini and mini pro.
Performance: pretty much the same.In both cases Qualcomm processor (mini 600mhz,tatoo(530mhz)
Display: tattoo has biger one but display on xperia is better(24-bit 16.777.216 colors) and camera too
Physical keyboard huge advantage
Look: well its up to you, but my vote in general goes to xperia
Thanks guys, really appreciate your advice and help. Cheers.

Can anyone confirm Multi touch for x10 Mini NOT Pro
Saw the blog here.. Seems Xda team did it again. Is it supported on X10 mini as well?
nope. mini and mini pro have different hardware on MT so there should be a different script for the mini

you mean X10 mini will never have MT? I think both have the same screens. Am I right?
I saw an article on endgadget but cant port links since my posts arent yet 10 but I will quote it
However, this one isn’t your usual run of the mill rumor. Our friend Michell over at se-blog did a little bit of research on his own. He managed to contact Synaptics, who are a supplier of touchscreen technologies and learned that the X10 mini sports a ClearPad 2000 solution, which means it supports dual touch, which is the basic form of multi-touch. It may not be available out of the box due to the device launching with Android 1.6 onboard, but it’ll certainly be enabled once the Android OS is updated.
Strangely, Synaptics is the supplier for only the X10 mini and not the X10 mini pro. Is it because Sony Ericsson thought that the mini would be crippled due to the lack of a physical keyboard and hence opted for the technology to provide a better experience? No idea. Sony Ericsson do have a knack of taking strange decisions, this one being another addition to the list.

Actually the reverse is happening. Now I am seeing multitouch on X10 mini Pro but not X10 mini

I'm sorry, you will never have MT , engadget its the worse gossip publisher, and no, Mini pro have different digitizer (CYP-CY8CTMA300), better than mini, better than even big X10, capable with multitouch, and no dualtouch like X10 (Clearpad2000), or single touch like mini (Clearpad1000).. sorry, but let it die!

? Why is Mini Pro capable of while Mini isn't?! I mean Mini relies only on its touchscreen whereas the Pro might even add functionality to some apps with the keyboard.
Anyone knows the answer why SE chose for that? (was mini released before the Pro i.e.? Or maybe loves the Pro more, like I do? ).
hey all, just got my hands on an x10 mini pro (dirt cheap, 25 off a mate ) its for a xmas present for my big brother. im wondering what i should do with it. is it really worth rooting these? they are pretty nippy as they are, and i doubt my brother will use it for games, just as a phone, alarm and music player really. is it really worth rooting/modding these phones?
give me your thoughts please. thanks very much.

Go through the X10 Mini/Pro forums and read those FAQ, it's definitely NOT a bad phone IMO, I got X10 Mini, X10 Mini Pro, X8 and now Xperia Mini Pro, nearly all are great for their value, as 2nd hand phones.
I was searching for a suitable phone for my cousin sister and was recommending her the Mini Pro. Now her budget is increased and we checked out the Ray as well as the Motorola Defy +.
Any advices on which is better. She will stay on stock ROM (maybe I can change it for her once in a while) and is going to be normal user.
Mini Pro seems good but Defy + is having larger screen at similar price. Ray also seems good but more expensive and screen in between.
Mini pro should be the best if she can accept its 3" screen.
Personally,I feel XMP's performance(stock) is better than defy+,such as playing games and normal use(smoother).
And maybe she relatively cares about photo function, then I think Ray is the one.
The mini pro are god cellphone has a keyboard , for write most faster , but the xperia ray have more roms , best quality of screen has a screen of 3.3 with fwvga , the defy has more big screen , but look the pros of a cellphone xperia:
You can overclock up 2.0 GHz
Oficial ICS sándwich in March
God quality
Is your desicion Men !!

I suggest you go for Xperia Ray
Mini Pro may be a bit small ,and from what I have heard girls like to have a huge screen. If you actually notice a common complaint from every Mini Pro and Mini users is that the screen is too small .
But if she is very much interested in having a physical keyboard then Mini Pro is the one .
Moto defy + has a dust proof screen ,better resolution than Mini/Mini Pro .But there are some bugs with it and I have heard of it switching off and freezing alot . Do check out a few reviews .
Personal Opinion- Xperia Ray
I'd say the mini pro or ray. They're both more stylish than the defy+ and seem less laggy. I mean, since when are benchmarks going to matter to regular users? If she wants a better camera, go for the ray. If she prefers a keyboard, go for the mini pro. To be honest you can't go wrong with all 3 but SE usually puts less bloat on their custom interface.

I Suggest Xperia Ray ..
Bravia Engine,Good Proc,Slim,8mpx with Exmor-R and many others

Hi guys, After checking around, I decided to buy the Mini Pro for it's frontal camera, extra internal memory and keyboard.
But still have a question though, i don't care about typing messages with the keyboard, but I look forward to use it as a gamepad.
I just watched a youtube video where a user is playing GTA III using the keyboard as a game pad. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ly1VVZfarLw )
So here is my question: Is it true for all games, some games, or rarely the case?
tnx.

Hi dudes, I have the X10 mini, and think of Buying the "Xperia MINI" for the 720p video camera, and the 1Ghz processor, as for the screen.
But I am wondering if it's worth it?
Or maybe should I wait for the "Xperia Mini 2"? Thinking maybe it will have 1080p camera and dual core processor?
I read about it here:
http://www.affineontech.com/sony-xperia-mini-2-the-successor-of-xperia-mini.htm
Tnx for answers and enlightments about the subject.
Hello,
The Xperia Mini (Pro) is the successor of the Mini X10. So, this IS the Mini 2, it's just not named like it (they removed the X10 from the name).
This article has to be older, because the new one does have a 3" Display, where the X10 just had 2,6".
The 1ghz processor is really fast, it's enough for myself.
Also, the Xperia Mini is just a few months old, so there won't be another new model that soon.
Get the Xperia Mini (Pro), it's worth it.
Edit: They're also talking about the Adreno 205 GPU, which the new Mini has.
Btw.: They're talking about the single core 1ghz processor we have right now, no dual core.

Thanks for clarifying this.
Just one final question, is the difference between the x10 mini camera resolution and the Xperia Mini Camera resolution noticable?
I mean, on the asus transformer, the 720p camera does not give the feel of HD, but more of a normal 480p camera when shooting.
tnx

dude, check out my thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1418496
this would probably makes you want to buy xmp even more!
I would say Xperia Active or the Live with Walkman. I enjoy dropping my Xperia Active in the water It would be hard for me to get a "normal" smarphone again... Maybe they make Sony Active this year?
Ok guys it's done, thanks for your help.
I am checking the game list right now, and bookmarking it immediately!
