might I suggest heading on over to a thread called "development ". Their are tons of posts. Be sure to hit up the gsm side though.

does it matter if you are on 2.3.3, 2.3.4 or 2.3.5?
cause as long as you are on 2.3.x then you're probably in the same boat as waiting for 4.0.x like everyone else
else you'll lose 3D - if that doesn't bother you then there are some ICS and stock roms about in the dev section as already mentioned

Hi, your question really should have been "I'm currently on 2.3.4, are there any further offficial updates available from HTC to upgrade it to 2.3.5?"
It would have got a better response
Also.. it really depends on whom your carrier is on whether they update your phone or not, and secondly, depends on which country you're in as to whether you get updates.
If you really must have the latest and greatest release, then you are going to have to do some leg work yourself and root your phone etc, and put the latest version on there if it isn't available from your carrier or htc directly.
Unfortunately, manufacturers only have so much time and resource to support phones when they have many models. It's a sad fact but that's life, we all wish it wasn't however, and that's where the guys who work really hard in the development section come in. Just head over there (As suggested in the first reply) and see if you like anything )

2.3 Gingerbread coming to X10..BUT...

There is a catch...That we can't go back to the previous (current) OS version...
So my question to all those who have already updated to Gingerbread, how smooth is it on the X10...Arc looks smooth, but then again, there might be some hardware differences...
So...are we going to be lucky or doomed???
You are the 27 millionth person to post something about the gingerbread update. We will be able to flash back with flashtool without any problems shortly after our devs get their hands on the update.

How can anybody possibly know before actually updating the X10 to the official SE Gingerbread?

Your title says "coming" and you are asking whoever updated to post their comments!! Interesting
It's not released yet and won't be before "End of Q2 or Early Q3".

I don't know where am I going wrong in being clear, but I will try again..
For those who have ALREADY through a hack updated to 2.3, I am asking THEM how is X10 reacting to Gingerbread...
To the people who have updated it through the ROM of 2.3...AM I clear now?
Now nobody will talk...
I'm sure the 2.3 custom ROM would run differently to the update that SE are bringing out.
If your specifically trying to find out about the custom ROM - I suggest looking in the gingerbread thread in the development section.

you guys could have just answered his question.... but your too proud apparently.. anyways gingerbread runs faster and smoother than and 2.1 or 2.2 rom on X10, the stability just isn't there yet for the custom roms. I anticipate that sony's ginderbread release will be just as smooth or smoother(not accounting for any slow sony bloatware, that will likely be removed immediately by most XDA followers.)

It's not that... It's that it is impossible to know how a true firmware will run, comparing it to a custom rom is rubbish....
Also the sony gingerbread will be way different from the gingerbread versions we have as custom now.
So how can we answer something that is impossible?
Not to mention the million threads about this already.
Feel free to go blow each other in a corner though
Reading all the SE PR the 2.3 will be AOSP Gingerbread. If the kernel is updated (presumably it will) will customs ROMS be written to take advantage of it or will custom kernel be the way????
Anyway, when SE say Q2/Q3 I wouldn't hold your breath unless you have good lung capacity!!!!
Jerpelea's cm7 is gingerbread, it is very faster and snappy, the internet us very fast. it is still a bit buggy, but is rapidly improving, plus, with the future custom kernel, it will be way faster then whatever SE puts out, but once THAT software is rooted and tweaked, it will be your best choice, until the next ROM and the next after that, until our hardware can't handle it

If you can abuse, so can we...And those million threads dont ask THIS question...
Why don't simply wait for the official update and stop adding useless threads?!
Mate, the Gingerbird you see here is Custom ROM made from Sources. The Official Gingerbird has to be good. Until we see something we can't really say.
For your question: It's very fast compared to 2.1/2.2 . That I can tell you.
Yeah, the official SE gingerbread will be a lot different from these here.
The ones you find here are not yet all that stable, but SE will make sure of it, or elso the X10 owners will kill them, or at least make their life miserable xD

[Q]Where is our official Android 2.3.5 OTA

My girl has the Samsung Epic and she received the 2.3.5 OTA update today. I would think that our phones would receive this update before a lot of phones, any body know if we are getting this update or our we SOL.
Why not 2.3.7? Not to be a downer but do you know the difference between 2.3.4 and 2.3.5? Do you have any reason to have to have it? I don't, nor do I care. But if you have good reason to have it, I'm sure you can convince someone to make it happen.
Exactly, if you are rooted and have a custom ROM and want to have a custom ROM you are still gonna have to wait until the Dev's dissect it. HTC has 18 months of support to us, it it even close to being 18 months yet? It will come, besides it will probably take you a week until you are sick of 2.3.5.
We won't get 2.3.5 as we will be receiving 4.0.1 soon.

Your right where is 2.3.7? The only reason I was seeking 2.3.5 over 2.3.4 was the builds from team nocturnal. The graphics, tweaks and speed caught my attention, but everything does not work. My girl's epic doesn't even have any changes with the update.

Thanks. For now all we have is the port for ICS.

Not been active lately, some new developments for the rezound, means some questions

Ok... I have been completely out of the Android game for at least a couple months... (unless you count the occasional check to see if anything is happening on the AOSP front)
Now we have a new leak and new ROMs. Some new devs, some old devs. Though it seems Scott has moved on, or hasn't been paying enough attention to the rezound to know there is a new leak and he needs to update his ROMs.
So, a couple questions guys.
(this info has been difficult to find in the past for the rezound as its spread out too much with no central location to find latest info, unless that has changed recently)
New leak... So we are convinced this is the final version that will hit OTA? If so, Cool...
Are the newest radios any better/worth the change? (subjective for the most part I know) No compatibility issues with the different hboots? (GB vs ICS issues excluded)
I am using the Mod'ed ICS hboot that came with the S=off exploit the day ithe exploit was released. Have we gotten any better versions of Hboot yet? (like a real engineering ICS hboot or newer Mod'ed version?) Is the Mod'ed hboot worth keeping, or should I just use the latest stock version and be done with it?
Aroma? WTF is that... its a new thing for ROM installs but what is it? I found the code page for it, but way too much info, just looking for a summery. LOL I can understand the concepts and how it works, just don't throw too much jargon at me. Coding/software isn't my field. I'll stick with avionics.

Just got back to the forums and need some help with the new ics.

I've been real busy with my EMT training for the past couple of months and just got back on the other day and found out about the new ics update. I did the 1.4 downgrade to get s-off. Is there anything I need to do before flashing one of the new roms floating around. I never did the vm update. and i was running infected eternity with anthrax. Thanx in advance.
Unless the ROM includes the 2.89 kernel, then no. If so, then you have to flash one of the fw/hboot upgrades first.

Yeah times have changed a bit....
BTW the a*****x kernel is no longer supposed to be mentioned on xda. fyi
To answer your question though you can flash any of those roms without upgrading anything.....but if you choose to you can update to the new firmware (minus HBoot) (there's a thread with the modded firmware DON"T EVER FLASH THE VM FIRMWARE though.
But the new sprint firmware is supposed to enhance performance...but I don't see the difference...so try without and if you choose to later, upgrade firmware.

Thanx for the help you guys. Also, I had read the zero tolerance posts all over the place. It would appear that simply stating the facts about what's on your phone won't get you in trouble. Its mainly the BS fanboy crap that will get you in trouble. No flaming, no trolling, and if you are a fan of someone's work no bashing someone else because their not your hero. But on the flipside I can see how keeping it to yourself is a good idea. Anyway what roms are you guys running?

Homebrew right now is mainly stock, but the next version promises great things. Coolexe v9 is great as well. I also life Negamann's ROM. Development has really taken off recently.

Salam Mahdi,
That is the old update to ICS that we already have. There is no need to update as everyone is on the latest firmware anyway. HTC is never going to update the Amaze. It's long dead. RIP. You know it's dead when it's completely removed from HTC's main website. :crying:
Also, HTC only has 100 people creating updates to HTC Sense. No wonder it takes forever. A lot of staff also QUIT HTC, it's a doomed company.
Also, the general rule of software updates is to NEVER UPDATE WHEN ROOTED!!!! You might brick your device or break something. Whenever something gets updated developers pick apart the update and just make it flashable for us. If you wanted to update something you would have to unroot, re-lock and then flash a RUU to get back to complete stock. Then you'd have to update manually. But there is no need as this phone is at the latest firmware.

No problem.
It's actually "you're" and not "u're" lol.
Using the word "you" instead of "u" sounds more professional.
I think the Amaze is on it's deathbed now. It never was a famous device to begin with, nor did it last. It still lived up to it's name, it was on par with the One S (except the One S had a more up-to-date chip at the time). It was HTC's putrid attempt to fix the Sensation's RAM issues by releasing a new device, but they killed both the Sensation and the Amaze in a few short months! This is why HTC is stupid in my opinion and suffers financially. If HTC cared about their users they would at least give us and Sensation owners stock 4.1.2 Jellybean like Samsung did in the Galaxy S III I think you should upgrade to a better phone when you have money. :good:
I'm going to develop for the Amaze again when the ION kernel comes out (maybe it won't even come out cause everyone is too busy  ).
But time will tell what will happen. There have been all sorts of crazy things in our forum.

Yes it's on 3.2 now. It's as stable as a BOULDER! There is not much left to do to that ROM. I might bake something later when I get time. It's a nice stable stock-look ROM to always fall back on.

The problem is that HTC doesn't care, and Qualcomm doesn't support the chipset any longer!
Luckily, an ION kernel from a dev like Sportsstar (there's others working on it too!) would let us port Sense 5 or Sense 4! And JB Sense 4.5. That would be the rebirth of the Amaze. Until then, we're in a sinking hole.
thank you guys, you'll find a way, i know it
