Hi all,
I seem to be having trouble with flac playback.
The music app (the new google one) seems to be able to read all the info in the flac files, including length and album cover... everything's there, but when you hit play there's no sound...
I've had a look at other players on the market that say they support flac and the same thing happens. (or they even think the files are like 200 hours long or something weird)
Has anybody else had any trouble with flac on the x10?
Thanks in advance,
Russ
look for Mplayer on xda

ok first of all thx both of you.
aimcr7 : sorry but flaq is audio format, you win the thanx anyway
Mralexx : i tried the post and the app andless on it, but its so unusable nothing else than play in order and no loops lol.
So my real question is, does wb roms support FLAC because mortplayer whos on my mind actually the best player need that the phone itself support FLAC.

What's the best music player you found....audio quality...easy of use...and ofcourse better than default music player
Let me start first...
Denon music player for audio when you disable equaliser is the good sound quality...but the bad...it is not user friendly...and equaliser have to disable manually..the setting only for tune in...not for the app itself
And the other one is poweramp audio quality is good..but lower audio quality than denon music app....the one things I like about it is...the player is easy to use...the interface is good...
Just reviewed...ithink it is the best overall...player pro...audio quality superb...it blend nicely with beats...interface good...and yrs it is better than stock
Recommended
Tried winamp...not better than stock music player...
Tried double twist..the sound smear...well if you find good on your hox+ let me know
Neutron..is not intended for hox + smear
What do you think?

You can't go wrong with poweramp. It plays almost every audio file and has good eq settings.

Carnt see the reason to use anything apart from the pre installed beats it's sound quality is amazing I don't need anything else for my music.

Try denon and see the different quality of sound..

Tried Denon but it pays no attention to volume button, therefore volume is stuck at about 80%. Stock player at same relative volume has far better bass response on the Photek track I used for comparison. The stock player also seemed to have a more spacious sound and better stereo separation. No Beats used, useless thing.
Volume issue seems related to eq. Disable eq and volume toggle responds. Changed to Orbital track, in flac. Belfast, classic tune. Anyhoo, Denon has a very weak sound. Highs seem overly compressed and a bit too quiet. Stock player, no complaints.
Subjective question, so subjective answer. Stock is better.
I'm a huge fan of PowerAmp as well.
Stock HTC player, doesn't get much easier than that. Works great, never needed a reason to try another.

Exactly. Using all these 3rd party apps for what, a decibel louder in sound, lol! With stock beats and stock HTC music player, and a quality headset, all u need.

Beats is just an equaliser setting
What about "Neutron Music Player"?
Yes, the interface is terrible, but the audio quality is impressive.
My most favorite feature is the 64-Bit audio encoding.
Give it a try.

That one is excellent too. I just prefer poweramp because of the features and ui. If you only care about quality then neutron is probably the best.

i tried it the neutron before...i dont like the interface...it is hard...and in my hox+ the sound smear...i dont know if it is because of beats or not
I'm starting not to like doubletwist, it has terrible audio smear at times, but it plays music downloaded from Google music, is there another app that can do that?

I use high end In-Ears for $130. (No, I don't mean beats!)
The sound is impressive and better than with any other music player.
I never got smear sound or somethin' else.
Seriously, what's wrong with Winamp? Best interface ever, sound quality is awesome (especially with equalizer adjustements in Pro version), ability to browse collection using folders, .flac support... I've been using it since launch and I like it the best.
I like poweramp, I tried the stock player, and playing through my alpine hd137blue tooth they sound the same to me. My interiors are alpine type r powered by v-power amp, so I turn off all sound enhancements. I just prefer the poweramp UI, the stock player is too plain IMO. Admittedly though, the blue tooth sound quality could use improvement, my old desire z left nothing to be desired in terms of sound quality over BT, I miss it for that reason.

I wish, no Google music has some special file code that only allows Google Music to play the file, however if you give doubletwist root permissions on SuperSU it allows you to play your downloaded music, but again the audio smear is just plain annoying

Actually. Beats is a software algorithm.
