hey guyz.....i have successfully flashed n rooted ddkq8 on my phone....now problem m facing that whenever i use titanium backup to uninstall any system app after uninstall phone just reboot itself..or if i use root explorer to add or delete any app in system folder phone just reboot after adding or deleting.....never had this problem with any previous rom......????phone is rooted with simple update.zip file no cf root or any script flased.....
i am not facing this i am on same version.
how did u root ? 1st cmw or 1st root ?
The reason is that the root is very unstable on ddkq8 .i m facing same prob. U too must hav rooted via the good old update.zip method via cwm? If yes. Then try cfroot method

Hello ppl.
I was currently using siyah and quite satisfied with it.
But now i decided to test other kernels too.
So i want to replace it.
I know full procedure but theres only one problem....
Siyah kernel also installs an app called "Stweaks" that helps us to control it.
And i know, if i change the kernel, this app will still be there, right?
If yes, please tell me a way to remove it safely.
Titanium will let you remove it safely.
es file explorer can remove it
press thanks if i helped
It sits in system/apps since your root you can go there and delete anytime but I'd do it after you flash another kernel. Any file mgr with root best is root explorer. Reboot after

When you install another kernel it will overwrite any apps coming from Siyah (STweaks) so without removing this app flash another custom kernel,i tried it and it worked fine.

Is this same with the themes?
I have PinkNina theme on my Galaxy S3 Omega Rom.
How can I remove that theme?
Installing another theme, could remove the PinkNina theme? or should I uninstall it first? (I don't know how to do)
Thanks.

I know this may sound like a silly question but have you tried doing a wipe and reset from Recovery or settings menu? If you are looking to do more of a manual process the use an app like Root Explorer or ES File explorer. You may have to modify the permissions of the folder to Read/Write to delete files.
Click Thanks button if this helps.
Its solved , i re-stocked and made factory reset from there because i couldnt delete everything using cwm on toldos rom.

hello,
everyone. I have a problem with my I9300.Could u help me to solve it?
last night , I have downloaded the cm10.1-20130131-nightly,and installed it on my phone. Before installing,I backed up my previous rom using cmw-recovery(cmw-based recovery v5.5.0.4).And now i want to reinstall my previouus ROM,but i find when i want to restore it,cmw-recovery will alert:"could not open directory no files found".
Then i find CM has changed my intern-SD.there are 2 folders named "0" which changed the Directory of the sd card.SO cmw-recovery cannot find the back-up ROM.
Could you tell me how i do to slove this problem.
Thanks all.

Move everything and anything in "/sdcard/0" folder to "/sdcard/"
Or more simply, move "/sdcard/0/clockworkmod" to "/sdcard/clockworkmod"
You can use some recovery with file manager or install any ROM and use file explorer to move them
After you moved files and then you can go recovery to restore your previous ROM.
By the way , you are using old version of recovery which is unsafe to SDS, update it to latest. More info in general section

Thanks for replying.I have tried that, but still didn't work. And i have tried a stupid method:"back up current CM ROM,reboot ,using ROOT EXPLORER to find backed up CM ROM,copy privious ROM to the folder where CM ROM was in",then i can restore privious ROM.
But i have a problem of updating recovery:recovery i have downloaded from CMW websites was an .img file.and i only know using recovery to flash a .zip file. Can u tell me how to update the newest version of recovery.
thanks!

Hello All,
Is there a way to install this fix without using CWM? ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1867901 )
I have a xperia neo v ( ICS 4.0.4 / 4.1.B.0.431) already rooted with the script method (doomlord), busybox and superuser latest versions,
I'm looking for a more "manual" method, replacing files with root explorer or something like that, i don't want to mess with my phone installing recovery's at this time
Any Ideas?
Regards
I'm not sure if you can do it that easy if you have odex rom (stock sony not custom deodexed rom)
Just install CWM, you will find it useful

I think you can push all the files in /system/framework folder via adb and set proper permissions, but it's safer to install CWM. You can backup your phone and restore everything if you end up with a bootlop.
To install CWM is needed unlock the bootloader right?, I don't wanna unlock the boot at this moment,
ROM manager app will work without CWM installed?
you don't have to unlock bootloader to install CWM, just root your phone, download X-Parts from Play Store and use it to install CWM.

Firstly make sure that you have deodexed your rom else you will have bootloops.
Then download the zip file and check the contents of the updater script. See what the updater script does and accordingly do the same manually using a root browser.
