[Q] Phone Semi Bricked - Motorola Photon 4G

I installed an application called Windows 7 lock screen from a developer called terabyte
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS50ZXJhYnl0ZS5tZXRyb2xvY2siXQ..
now the lock screen doesnt work and my phone has just went blank on the lock screen . I am not able to access anything except the status bar. The phone displays and the status bar works, thats all. What should i do now ., please help me.

Does holding down your search button bring up voice control?
MoPhoACTV Initiative

Yes it does !

I get three options when I click the search button .,
-> QR Droid
-> Sound Hound and
-> Voice Search .
When I try to use the voice search , it says no connection . :'(

HOPEFULLY you enabled USB debugging at some point.
Download ADB from the Android SDK Tools (you don't need the entire SDK, just tools). Open command prompt (start>run>"cmd") then run these commands
Code:
cd folder\to\download\of\adb <-- replace with path to the adb folder
adb uninstall com.terabyte.metrolock
Now just reboot your phone and it should be back to default!

I dont know whether I went to USB debugging earlier ., but How do I go into it now using PC ., or is there some other way ., i'm downloading the applications now ., once done ., i will give it a try ., !!

Since your status bar still works, try going to the market on your computer and download a launcher to your phone, if it works, it may install it for you and hopefully you can get control again.
MoPhoACTV Initiative

I forgot to turn on my WIFI and also i cant turn on the cell phone data ., completely clueless :'(

I can access my phone storage and also the memory card through USB Storage ., is there any way to delete something through that ., :-o

Edit: Just downloaded the app, my suggestion is useless.
Edit: Try pressing home?
ALSO: Is your phone rooted?

Yes my phone is rooted but not bootloader unlocked and also I tried pressing the home., none of the buttons are working , I ran in CMD ., adb uninstall com.terabyte.metrolock ., it is showing daemon running and , detecting phone , nothing else is happening ., :'(

Thank you MooseV2 ,. love ya ., it worked ., .
I installed moto sync from motorola's website . then i ran the adb uninstall com.terabyte.metrolock. It worked . I'm so happy . <3 . Thanks to all who helped.

Stucked on blue screen

Hello all.
I tried to debrand my phone but i have used the xperia mini and not the mini pro firmware, so now the phone is not functioning properly(keys and keyboard dont work).
Besides that every time i boot the phone it displays 2 errors:
-Roadsync (process.com.dataviz.stargate)
-User support (process.com.sonyericsson.android.support)
have stopped unexpectedly and then the screen displays only the known blue background without any menus.
Only the top taskbar is working but i cannot do anything with it.
The phone is rooted with exploid method.
So i'm trying to figure out a way to make a clean install of the firmware again but SEUS says i have the latest software and PC companion fail to do the work also.
Practically the phone is bricked and useless now.
Any ideas on how to function it again?
pay some money to omnius-server.com download u20i generic uk rom, then flash you phone
edit this is generic uk U20i_WORLD_1_8_CDF1238_0199.rar
thanx for ur help.
Is there another way of doing it without omnious? I don't own a paycard
You might be able to reflash using this method in the X10 Mini Development forum, substituting the appropriate files in blob_fs for mini pro ones. In the u20a thread here, there's an archive linked for u20a, not sure if there's a u20i set around. Either will work if you can get it on the phone.
Else a commercial solution Davinci Team or Omnius is probably going to be the only option.
Oke i got the U20 firmware, is there a way to push it onto the phone through the adb commands or something?
Nothing seems to be working in the phone now. After reboot the service roadsync stops unexpectedly and the the known blue background.
Tried to do the update but nothing(have the latest so it does not update).
If only i could find a way to push the firmware to the phone through the sdk commands...

I haven't. I'll try to acess some other pc.
Besides that i cannot run adb commands. The device cannot be found, maybe because i cannot enable the usb debuging from the phone.
I have attached 3 pics of what i see when the phone boots...
The 1st one is with the process roadsync, the 2nd is after i press ok and appears the blue background. The 3d pic is the only thing functioning...the notification bar

Yes it does, but what can be done from that menu?
I see the options of the data traffic settings and i cannot practically do nothing.
An additional info: if i put the sim card to the phone it is not recognized, it's like it has no sim card at all

Well, I had a thought that if you can access the menu, may be you can try getting into settings with home button or menu button. But then I recalled that you said buttons are not working on your phone..
Mate, I suggest you try to repair it through seus from another computer..

I think you should take it to any local service guy and get it reflashed.. I think thats the only way remaining...
Or you can ask someone to take a look at your device through teamviewer or something...

Factory Reset went terribly wrong!

Hello guys. I have been using ADW Launcher for a long time. After I rooted my Android, I uninstalled the stock launcher cause I thought it was useless... I have been trying to find a way to install a custom ROM on my Android, and found a site where it said before I start, I should do a Factory Reset. I forgot that the FR would delete my ADW Launcher, I did it.
Now, whenever I boot my phone, I am stuck on a black screen instead of my ADW Launcher!
I can't buy a new phone at the moment, so I desperately need your help! I know it was stupid, but please, dont' judge... ;u ;
This is the phone I have: sonymobile.com/gb/products/phones/xperia-mini-pro/
Please help.
reflash your phone mr.brilliant

I am on a Mac, and I am not very good with this whole flash blah blah. Can you help me step by step? I have access to a PC, but my parents don't let me use it... that is why I prefer doing it on a Mac. If there is absolutely no way to do it on a Mac, I will look for the PC for help. But can you get me a better understanding, along with links etc? I don't like doing things on my own... that is the main reason my phone derped!
Thanks!
Download Sony bridge for MAC and do a repair of your phone that way.

Go to a windows pc and do it like here in number 2. You can flash it with flashtool, so connect it to pc while holding volume up! That's it!
Or another one: Did you install cwm? Then you could download the 4.0.A.0.69 zip from here. Then you just go to recovery and click mounts/storage and mount your usb storage. You push the zip to your phone and flash the .zip. Then you are on 4.0.A.0.69, but only do this if you were on Gingerbread before, if you were on ics, just flash your phone with flashtool. Go to a windows pc and flash it
If your pc recognizes phone again you could install cwm with that tool. But better flash the ftf!
What do you mean by "my phone doesn't connect"? Does it charge whn you plug usb? Do the leds light up?
If you really do not have access to a pc there are two other solutions:
Install windows on your mac using bootcamp http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/
or
Create a vritual machine using virtual box
Enjoy
P.S
Next time you walk into an electronics store take a moment for yourself, breathe calmly, look at all the offers around you and ponder "wouldn't any of these machines that have 3times the power at 1/3 the price of a macbook a far wiser choice?" This should keep you from repeating foolish mistakes. Your parents are very wise at not letting you near a pc.

I already have bootcamp. But, I am trying my hardest to work on a Mac, since I know what to do. And yes, the LED lights, but it doesn't connect!
If you have bootcamp, do you alread have a pc partition set up? why don't you use that?
It is very hard to work on these things from a mac, it's THE rival to the android world so compatibility is the lowest possible.
As far as i know (and the cyanogen wiki goes) there are no simple methods for using flashtools on a mac, so best thing is to use bootcamp and load it from there.
Can you be more specific when you say that your phone "doesn not connect"?

I do have Windows setup.
When I say it doesn't connect, I mean that the LED goes on, it starts charging, but I can't access my SD card, nor can I access the Sony Bridge Mac... So I can't do anything with the phone!
Also, a new problem arose. I can't click home. When I click the home button nothing hgappens!
Do you already have sdk tools installed on you mac?
If not
- go here http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html, donwload mac version
- go into /platform tools/ and execute the android file
- in /platform tools/ open cmd window and execute "chmod +x fastboot-mac"
- execute "./adb devices", it should give a response if device is connected properly
-If all the above works then all you need to do is get any launcher.apk, place it in the /platform tools and execute "./adb push launcher.apk /system/app"
-If phone doesn't get recognized by the mac some people reported a problem with easy thether, so in terminal type sudo kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/EasyTetherUSBEthernet.kext and check if that solves the issue
This is how to manuall install an app from host. Hope it helps.
Btw, do you have cwm recovery installed? Also does the phone reboot constantly or when you get to final loading it just start giving a constant fc message from home?
Which home button started working? on the phone? Of course it does nothing, if you deleted the home app....
As long as connection works and leds light up phone isn't dead

Alright I am on PC. How do I flash?
Well your only problem was the missing home.apk right? You don't need to reflash the whole firmware if you don't want to...here are the two options anyway:
Requisites: adb drivers. Make sure you have the adb drivers for the phone, if not http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1623199
Method 1)
-Download flashtool
-Download your phone's stock firmware http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1568792
-Place ftf file in the programs firmware folder
-Start flashtools, select flash icon, point to the ftf file you downloaded earlier (after selecting flash mode)
-holder volume down button and connect usb (with phone powered off) when flashtools prompts you to
-Wait for installation. Done
Method 2)
-Download sdk tools (as said above)
-Download/extract from any rom or market a launcher.apk
-Put apk into platfrom-tools folder
-Opend a cmd window and navigate to your platform-tools folder
- Type adb device to make sure device is connected and recognized (this time it can be turned on and plugged in)
- type "adb remount"
- type adb push (or install) launcher.apk /system/app/
- reboot
Done

[Q] HELPP !!!! back up

hello
my screen has broken on my s2 . its going back to EE tomorrow but i need to back it up . only problem is my screen has an unlock pattern an the screen doesnt work . its a none rooted phone ..... is there a way to do this any help would be appreciated
thankss
Sorry to hear that buddy!
It depends what you need to back up, my first suggestion would be to plug it in to your PC via USB and use Kies to backup stuff (I can't remember if it requires an on-screen phone prompt though). Either try that or use windows explorer to copy paste certain files like your photos and so on to your desktop.

[Q] Not your typical unroot question!

Gentlemen, hello.
Ok, I have a droid razr m and I have tried BOTH the batman prog as well as the one where you use the adb shell so i can unroot. (Which doesn't happen obviously.)
On the batman prog when i press option 1 everything says failed. (Even though it resets the phone, the root is still there, remote failure ) And when i tried the abd shell, it says su file & the like isn't there. (file not found) & yes it's in the c:\ folder. (Which i dont think really makes a difference. shrugs~
Yes, i have usb options set correctly, and the allowance for non registered progs. etc etc in settings and yes im in ap fastboot. (whatever u call that black screen with white letters.)
HELP!!!
Thx in advance.
i even tried rerooting my phone just in case there was a problem with the file structure.
I also noticed (if it helps) that even when i do a factory reset (using stock image or 1.8 utility) that it still manages to connect to my router and remembers the ssid & password! which means this isn't a true image restore. (at least from a pc perspective.)
hello?
thanks for nothing.
Wat was the method u ve used for rooting... have u installed any custom recovery?

You're assuming that people know the answer to your question, and don't want to reply you. And you waited less than a DAY before saying that.
What do you want? People who have no idea about your problem to comment here and say "Sorry dude. Can't help you."?
And if you'd actually bothered to read around, you'd probably figure out that you can just fastboot another version over to unroot.
