I went and got my phone exchanged at BB for the backlight flickering and the pictures that were on the SD card are not showing up now. They were all there when I first got the note coming from the streak but now taking it from the old note to the note I can't find all the pictures that were there. They are probably gone with the wind huh?

Yea I was rooted but I didn't do a wipe they never checked. I just popped my SD cars out and walked in the store. They were there before I even got the note tho a lot of them really

Anyone else have this problem in the past? Both my wife and my phones pictures/videos got erased off our SD cards. Her phone is not rooted and mine is rooted as well having apps 2 SD.

was anything else erased or just your picture/movies? Has your sdcard been ejected without being unmounted first? I have no idea how else this could have happened.

you know ive had this problem before on my eris and on 2 previous phones that werent androids and Verizon told me that either a.) my phone/sd card got overheated or b.) while charging it there could have been a surge

This is the second time this has happened to me... I restarted my phone and most of my apps I've installed in the internal sd card were missing. Once I install them and reopen, my saved games are there tho. Just a pain to have to redownload them all.
Only thing I remember doing prior to this happening was replace my 32gb sd with a 64gb.

That might be link to it that never happened with my 64GB but I didn't put in my old 16GB cause I lost it with the evo 4g

I had the same problem, only I did not switch cards at all. The only thing that I can think of is that the battery died. When restarted, all apps were missing that were on the external memory. Any fix?

I've had the same issue. I installed GTA 3 from the play store and downloaded its contents. I wiped data and flashed a new rom and GTA 3 files are no longer there. Saved games are missing too.

This just started happening to me this evening. I randomly get this message. .. Sdcard empty, unmounted, or not present. Never experienced an error like this in the past. I'm running Beans 7, sdswap, perseus kernel with 5g profile. Does anyone have a clue to this problem?

Its a Sandisk Ultra 32gb Micro SDHC Class 10. Im very doubtful its a sdcard problem. U know of a better sdcard? Rebooting seems to fix the issue temporary

Did you get it from Amazon? If so it probably is a bad card. I've seen quit a few people who got a bad batch from ordering on Amazon. Try what Wolf said, backup and format

Same issue I encountered after flashing a rom., I wiped card reformatted then put everything back on card to have it happen again .should i reformat and start fresh ? I'm using a 32 gb sandisk class 4. I think I've had since my thunderbolt .

Tried that. Several times. Been having similar problems with my sd card. Its a samsung 64gb class ten. I cant find any of my downloads. I am a noob but I think the sd swap does something to the card. Only causes a problem if you flash a new rom (or reflash same) that doesn't have swap.

Well... After reformatting my scdard and also performing a fresh and clean install of my beans 7 rom, I'm still having the same problem once again.... I reformatted to extfat. Should I have went with fat?

I slow reformatted mine and the error came up again after a few hours. Decided to just buy a new one so hopefully the card was just crapping out and not the phone. If end up posting again it must be the phone. Hope you don't hear from me again in this thread lol

Sandisk 64GB SDXC which happens to be Made in China is crap and confirmed by comments made by others on Amazon saying the same. Pay a little extra for Samsung 64GB SDXC and have the peace of mind.
Same issue for me and I bought my sdcard from Best Buy also...I am running Jelly Bean ROM B7. The card is only 2 months old so I doubt the card went bad, this has to be some app/process that is effecting the sdcard swap program. Very annoying and reboot of phone resolves issue but I have to reboot every hr, it is unreasonable. It only started happening to me since B7 which i installed about 7 days ago. I may trying going back to B6 which i was using with no issues for a while.
I'm just waiting for my Sandisk 64gb ultra cl10 to die bought it about 3 weeks ago so will see glad it has a 10year/lifetime warranty. Plenty of people are having same problems with these cards and not just in phones. Easy way to tell if its bad/going bad is to format it and stick it in another device see whats up... pretty sure if your card is not mounting or being seen it's going bad if it pops back up from time to time it's about to be dead.
Well I finally returned the sdcard at Best Buy which honors manufacturer warranties. Been a week on the new card, so far so good...

Mine does this to with a 32GB sandisk :/
I did buy a 32GB Samsung card but that died more or less straight away D;
so atm im still using the sandisk even though it likes to tell me its inserted/damaged/empty
Annoying!
The only thing i can suggest is to buy a samsung memory card from a trusted dealer
(mine was from ebay and most probably why it died)
but before it did, it worked fine in the note 2 gave me no pain

I had the exact problem with my sandisk 32GB ultra, but i got it swapped out and the new one works flawlessly. Think they had a bad batch (had to wait for a new shipment until i could swap my card)
I contacted SanDisk through the website.
They will rma my card who had the same problem.
Expecting my replacement next week.

had the same problem for a while then my card suddenly died . apparently the reader on a lot of Samsung phones easily kill sd cards so be sure to back up very often

just got my second RMA card. Hope this time is will work fine.
Has anyone realized that you can move apps to your SD card on 4.3? I'm on stock rooted and I have moved several apps to the SD card when before there was never an option on the Note II

Yeah I think it started with 4.2 cause prior to that Samsung had taken away the ability. It never worked on the Note II
Google took away the ability by default. Samsung added it back in because their customers demanded it.
Keep that in mind if you switch phones in the future.
I'm thinking of taking the plunge to the III. So the apps to SD option is definitely confirmed?
I noticed this a little while back just assumed yall knew. good topic choice.
