Grrrrr lol. Thanks bro. The xperia s comes with better hardware. Why they didn't add that neat feature to the s
Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk
Based on the research I did, it seems the clear bar won't serve as a notification light which is just wrong since it was advertised all along in the videos as having this feature. The U only changes colors for different themes and doesn't change colors for different notifications. I believe the P is the same as the S but I still can't find the location of the notification light on the P.
Notifications are done by a led.

The live with workman has got a working light sensor. But the display options under settings menu doesn't offer an option for auto brightness. So the question is, is the light sensor active on stock Rom? And is there an Xperia model that offers this activation?

Unless there is a problem it is active and the problem is that you can't deactivate it without root. You can test it though by covering the sensor, i think is the biggest circle in the top front of your phone. If it is you will see the screen getting darker
The difference in screen light is really small that you almost don't notice it at all. And no, you can't enable auto brightness, LWW doesn't have that function.

Of Course,
i think the ambient light sensor is autobrightness
Maybe I'm too late but you can enable it with Tasker without root

Yep.. I tested in on ics .587 .. Screen dims or gets bright according to the ambient light... You can also do the service test to check that..

Yes but Sony made crap code to work with it
Yes Live With Walkman WT19i has Ambient Light Sensor, but Sony disabled it, I actually don't know why, the sensor works, but the code that Sony built seems to be very buggy on this since if you activate as wrote on this thread, it won't work as it should, most of the time, the screen will be very bright, what's not good for the screen and/or battery.

Ok, but it's time to somebody move it to Q&A section.
Summary:
I have cooked my stock ROM's DefaultThemes.apk, and I think I should share it to you all. I reuploaded the apk and it will work now.
Compatibility:
The apk is cooked from stock 2.3.4 ROM, so it must also compatible tostock 2.3.4 based ROM. Unexpectedly,I found it compatible to SONY ICS ROM. So, simply if your ROM have DefaultThemes.apk in system/app , you can use this mod in your ROM.
Instructions:
Replace the old DefaultThemes.apk in system/app of you phone.
Details:
The background image is actually captured from Cosmic Flow Live Wallpaper (so the title says Cosmic Flow style!), and now it's presented to you all.
See Screenshot below of my SONY ICS PORT to see the results
So if you like the mod please click thanks button, and make some reply too.
MDPI version is also available. If you want to see screenshot, Go to XM, XMP, Active Theme and Apps Thread to see that. I'm fourteen years old now and I have to attend secondary school so I'm busy at the moment.
I reuploaded the app and it will work now. Please download and have a try, and make some reply and press thanks button too
My suggestion: everything is nice, but make the background dimmer will ya? The background not the wallpaper. Thanks a lot!

Huh? Are you using Sony ICS or stock GingerBread? It mustn't be possible that cause bug because the apk is just changed images, without any code editing. It also seem impossible that cause error on Sony ICS because I have tested it already.

That's odd

Can the music player play music though?
If It cannot, then I know whats the problem, it is not the problem of mine.
But if the player can play music, then I don't know whats the problem...
It do not have problem with my friends xperia play and my live with walkman.
i will check it also on xperia arc later soon.

So I already have the ported launcher, wallpapers and widget pack but to make it comlete, the lockscreen would be great.
I already saw some interesting threads but they were for Xperia devices only, is there any way I can get it to work or does someone want to help me doing so?
I'm running the stock XWLS8 rooted and deodexed ROM with multi-window and ripple lockscreen.
Thanks

No, I mean the lockscreen of the new Sony Xperia Z, it's very clean and elegant and just just swipe up anywhere to unlock and it has an awesome effect.
I know that. This is xperia s port lock screen
That lock screen of xperia z needs some time to be ported .

Now that I had a look into the test build of the Jelly Bean for Xperia P, I thought of sharing my views on it. I'll include a couple of screenshots of the new features as well. (See the attachment)
This is a test build so, No comments to :
1. Is it smooth or is it lagging?
2. How is the battery life?
This is a quick review of the updated stuff in the ROM. If you want to know anything more, please ask. I think I didn't miss anything though.
Camera
I don't know why DoomLord said the camera seems to have changed because I didn't see any changes at all. It's just the same as it is on ICS.
Media Apps
The Media apps (Album, Movies, Walkman) have been updated to the latest versions. In the Album app you get an option to add tags to the photos (See the SS). In the Walkman app you'll get more options to tweak the sound like, Surround sound, ClearAudio+, Clearsterero, ClearPhase, xLoud and Dynamic normalizer.
BE
It's just the BE not BE2 and I failed to enable it. (Guess it's the unlocked bootloader)
Power Management
It also has changes. Now we have more options like Stamina mode, Low battery mode and location based WiFi. (See the SS for more deatils on these features)
Themes/Lock Screen
We've a new theme chooser. (See the SS) The lock screen is also new. I think it's the Xperia Z stuff. As you might have guessed, we cannot have notifications on the losk screen anymore.
Launcher, Status bar and notification panel, Misc
The launcher is the same. (the one with the options to add 7 home screens).
The status bar remains the same but now with the option to display the battery percentage or not.
The notification panel has been changed to te latest from Sony (Same as of Xperia T JB). Now we can have quick toggles for WiFi, Bluetooth, Sound, Data and there's a shortcut to the settings menu.
Contacts, Messaging apps are also updated. (See the SS)
Google Now
The first thing I tried to figure out was Google now; tried the home button, searched the lock screen etc but it seems it's not there! May be Sony is still to add it or they abandoned it! Anyway I couldn't find it anywhere!
Conlusion.
Apart from the missing Google now, it's quite a nice package I should say.
If test version has few bugs then it means official version will be almost lagfree and bug free.
What about battery life? Any improvement?

No, I dont think so yet, atleast what I know they dont exist for theese devices yet. I guess you will have to wait and keep a eye out in the Themes and Apps section.
Yeah.. I've seen other devices like the xperia Sola, U already running xperia ZU's theme. It's pretty neat to look at. Anyway thanks for the response.

I guess it's very easy to port, I think you only need to decompile the apks and then resize the images to make them optimal on your device.
