is there a fix for the missing earphone icon in the status bar once you plugin in the jack?
Why? Don't you know when you have earphones plugged in? Just feel your ears a little.
hahahahhahahahahahahahahahaa.

has anyone tried these with the x10?
i tried beats by dre in ear
really great sounds
I have the Monster turbine Pro Gold edition... The bass is a little disappointing but other than that it sounds pretty good... but the only sucky part is the mic not working when u plug in earphones.
Should work perfectly fine. Beats don't need an amplifier to be properly driven to my knowledge.

thanks went to a best buy my my house where they had a sample pair that you can try but they didnt work. only worked if you held down the middle button
no headphones or earbuds are compatible with x10.
u have 2 choices
1 - buy a headphone or earbud with no mic and use x10 headset that came with it
2- buy mw600 and use any headphones or earbuds
the x10 wired headset INCLUDED in the box has an adapter piece that is the microphone and allows you to use any headset with it.
as far as i know i havent been able to get any other headsets with inline mics to work aside from the one that came with it.
ive always had to use the adapter and w/e headphones
LOL wait.. people actually buy that crap?

What headphones r u using?
So. Is there any way (software) to make phone "think", that jack is empty, when it isn't? I need headphones plugged in as antenna for fm radio and the sound going through speaker. Now i'm using half lacquered plug so the phone can't see it.
Sorry for my English.

I had this exact problem the other day!!!! No matter what I did it wouldn't work, tried flashing new ROMs, different headphones etc. So I replaced the jack and it worked, took 10mins and only cost £4!
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Samsung-G...K_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item3f156a393c That's the part you need for a GT-i9100, no idea if it any different for the G version or American versions of this phone though
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65pvAINg2ME Here's how to do it.
Hope this helps

I think you didn't understand me right (probably it's my fault). I have no problems with my jack. I meant
I need headphones plugged in as antenna for fm radio and I need the sound going through speaker but it's going through headphones as it should
i'm using half lacquered plug so the phone can't see it (as it shoud because the plug is lacquered by me for this)

And what I'm searching is the way (maybe some edit in /sys/devices or something else) to make (by myself) my phone "think", that there is no plugged in headphones when there is. If I understand you right, I need to simulate your problem (reversibly).
Doesn't anybody know?
There's an option in the FM radio settings to output audio through the speaker...

It doesn't work for me with plugged in headphones.
I'm looking at getting one of these but need some clarification.
I know the device is no longer waterproof once a cover is open so how would one listen to music on it when in a wet environment?
I thought maybe the provided headset might create a water-tight seal or something?
If anyone can shed some light on this it would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

bluetooth headphones will be fine.
nfc ones just use the nfc to pair up with the tablet using bluetooth.
Yeah figured as much. Thanks.

The tablet ONLY comes with a charger and USB cable - well, mine did at least. And from the looks of the opening for the jack there is no way to make that waterproof if the cover is open.
As has already been mentioned, use a bluetooth headset. If you're like me, and have a favourite pair of wired headphones then I would suggest getting a Sony MW600 bluetooth adapter that has a 3.5mm headphone jack. I have been using it with my phone for commuting and it lasts about 3.5 days (2hour back/forth commute per day) before needing a recharge.
The signal and volume are both very good compared to other adapters I've used and it has next/back/play-pause controls. The only drawback is the volume control... which is a touch sensitive slider. This is a bit temperamental if your fingers are cold and dry.
Good for the price though.
Guys I have a problem with hardware all'S3
Yesterday trying to insert the headphones into the jack these are not crawled well, in the sense that a fraction (2mm) was left out
I'm used to with the ipod mp4 players, and various that the jack comes around and sometimes also makes a click
Sull's3 does not happen.
Nevertheless I do not worry about this because the phone detects the headset
The problem is that when I launch any application in multimedia audio headset does not feel, I also tried with the microphone but zero.
I then pushed further into the jack, and you see who made contact, well, now the music part.
Only if I do not feel pressure anymore.
Have you also seen this problem?
The first few days with the S3 did not seem to have had these problems ...

My S3 clicks. I guess if it's not clicking, the clip inside the jack is bent out of place.

Turn off Dolby Volume Levelling?
Volume Problem
I had the same problem until I figured out I wasn't pushing the headphone jack all the way in. It's a very tight fit, but make sure you push it in all the way.
