Turn off Dolby Volume Levelling?
Volume Problem
I had the same problem until I figured out I wasn't pushing the headphone jack all the way in. It's a very tight fit, but make sure you push it in all the way.

Has anyone else had a problem with their headphone jack? When I plug headphones in, I have to wiggle it around until they actually work, then hold it there to get any sound. Is it just my device or widespread?

get a replacement headphone first. most likely your headphone jack is lose or need to replaced. if it is not the headphone then it is your new S3. replace it asap.
I got the phone yesterday. When I tried to plug in my headphones today, I found they are not detected and music continues playing through the phone speakers. Is there some setting I need to do before I can use headphones with the z2? Please advice.
Have you had it in water? Might be wet so won't detect headphones properly otherwise it's a defect and you should exchange it. If your on stock a headphone icon should appear to show a headset is connected

No I haven't tried to use it in water. Guess I received a defective unit.
Did you make sure they were fully plugged in? I wouldn't force them in but just make sure they are right in, try using a hoover attachment to make sure there is nothing blocking the headphone socket then plug them in again firmly then start playing the music. I assume it is the headphones that come with the phone?
Theres a software in the phone that has different profiles for different things. Like headphones, stereo, aux etc. Make sure the correct profile is selected to get sound. Pretty annoying tbh.
What earphones? The ones dat came in the box? And yes, if you usimg anything but the noise cancellation earphones.
Go into Settings > Sound > Audio Accessories and select other. See if that helps...

I'm pretty sure it's this, all of my 3 pin earphones don't work except for my beats headphones which came with my HTC One, however only 1 side plays.
My Sennheiser and Shure work fine.

Confirmed. 3 pin headphones are not detected. 2 pin headphones work fine. Thanks for the input guys!
I found out that if you press the middle button on the headphones while plugging them in, 3-pin headphones work.

Hey all. I use wireless Beats with my cell phone. I always use volume modes to make my volume louder. How loud is the volume with wireless headphones and the built in speakers? Thanks
You lost me at beats...
The volume for connected devices is excellent.
The volume from the built-in speaker....not so much. It's actually one of the worst speakerphone that I've had in years.

+1 connected devices can get very loud. Its been a complaint of mine with other phones. This one tends to be louder.
The speaker at the bottom doesnt direct sound at you very well. But if you cup the bottom or put the phone down it reflects towards you and is louder. Ymmv
Auxiliary cable to my wife's car stereo is low for some reason, volume maxed on everything
When I use my headphones on my LG G5 there is very obvious hissing/static noise on the left side especially when there is heavy bass. Is anyone experiencing the same issue? I am using Bose QC25. Thanks for any help.
In the "The LG G5 Discussion Thread" someone reported that moving the headphone jack slightly disconnects the audio, and that this happened on two different phones. Not sure about hissing/static though, mine is in the mail so I hope it's just your unit :/
Sounds like it's your headphones to me. Make sure they're plugged in all the way

No issues on mine. Using House of Marley ear buds and the connection is satisfyingly positive with a definite click when the jack is fully inserted.

No issues with BT headphones.
Don't think that matters for quality as long as it connected and not far from the phone :/
My headphones are working fine. No problem from moving the headphones around, and they fit snugly.

+1, at first, the female jack locking device was too tight, so i didn't dare pushing the male headphone jack all the way in.
I just noticed now that i was plugging it incompletely. Now it's tight and safe. No disconnections anymore, and no hissing here.
You can check this link for rectifying your problem

honestly i fixed that car audio issue this way now:
otg → usb soundcard.
all i could dream for is a way to charge my g5 while using this.
you can literarily use any usb soundcard you like.
edit:
after applying lg's software update this problem vanished.
all clear and smooth now.
I am thinking about doing a volume booster app but will it mess with the DAC's?
The DAC won't be active when using the speakers. They only turn on when using wired earphones.

How about the plug sound quality? And does it need quad driver earphones to get all the sound? I heard the to get the most out of it you need a new audio file called MQA.

You can tell the difference even with a cheaper pair of earphones.

I'm wounding if a volume booster app would interfere with the Quad DAC through the headphones jack.
Anyone try a volume booster like goodev. I installed it and it tries to make sound higher then goes back to normal volume. Wonder if there is a limiter on it as my G5 worked with goodev with no issues.
