I think there's already a thread with a shopping link to the cable, just the "search this forum" option glitches out on my Rezound.
Anyway, I'm fed up with standard micro USB cables coming loose while charging this thing(especially while driving & using the phone via AUX on head unit to play music).
Can someone post a shopping link to the original cable that comes with the Rezound
Please do not post a regular micro USB link as I've already gone through multiple ones that were 'snug' at first but eventually loosened up.
Thanks!
Search for EXTMicro USB. There is no such thing as an MHL cable.

Oh but contraire, MHL stands for mobile high-definition link and its for hdmi out

MHL is a standard for transmitting, not hardware. It works over many different kinds of cables, including Micro USB.
So I repeat, there is no such thing as an MHL cable. There are MHL adapters, but they use . . . MicroUSB or EXTMicro USB.

Just trying to clear the air about that. A lot of people really seem to prefer the solidity of the EXTMicro connector and it's going to be a lot easier for people to shop for cables with them if they know the correct name.

you mean this one? http://www.amazon.com/HTC-Travel-Charger-Adapter-Inspire/dp/B004JK26WW
That does not come with an EXTMicro connector. So while the charger is the same, the MicroUSB is not which is what this thread is about.

What is this cable for? You want to connect Rhodium to other device? Just phisical connection will not be enough because one of the devices must be able to be host device on USB bus.

Hi,
no I don't want to use the cable to connect it to another devce. I need it to charge the phone. The case is that I in my car have a femaile miniUSB, so if I have a miniUSB male to male, I can use this cable to connect to the Rhodium and to the powersocket of the car - the female miniUSB.
any luck with this? I'm looking for the same cable.

hi, i have had that cable twice before. Both came from my texas insrument ti84 calculator. Perhaps you can order one from them, or maybe it is time to buy a calculator!
their website says it's a mini A to mini B. So, the TI84 usb connectivity standard is not it.

I don't know about a complete cable, but this adapter might do the job; just put it on the one end of the USB-cable that came with your TP2:

Mini A and Mini B both fit in the same sockets. I don't know why they have 2 different versions or why the cable that comes with the calculators has A and B sides.

quick question:
Will micro HDMI to HDMI cable work or is MHL adapter/micro usb to HDMI required?
It's my understanding that our old microhdmi to hdmi cables we used for our evo 4g will not work with the evo 3d. Instead, we will need an MHL adapter or microusb to HDMI cable.
Just want to verify my understanding. I am sure somebody else is wondering this too.
MHL is required. my question is where do we get it at? only one i see is the one that comes with the samsung phone. i called sprint and they said there is one in the box but i really doubt this person at sprint knew what i was talking about.

Many thanks!

I don't think so.
I believe the reason for the MHL adapter is because the HDMI doesn't provide a charge for the phone.
I could've sworn there was an early hands on video on YouTube where the sprint/HTC Rep said it can charge via HDMI... let me do some digging.

at ~0:31 she mentions the MHL connector has a port to, I assume, plug in a DC source in order to simultaneous output HDMI and charge.
i bought universal mhl adaptor from t mobile that they sold for the sensation .. but when i plug into my phone and then try and toggle my tv to the hdmi source that the phone is plugged into it doesnt pick up a signal from that port.... is there something that has to be enabled on the phone?
I fot mine from tmobile website. Cheapest I found and works like a charm. Plus every store I called asked "what's an mhl cable?"

Black MHL To HDMI HDTV Adapter OTG Card Reader Connection Kit
It let you connect to HDMI without external power, also if you use external power you can use HDMI and USB hard drive at the same time, it is just really really amazing, Sammy has really improved their MHL and OTG support.
Note: I am using this device on my Note 3 N9005 I am not sure about other devices

Black MHL To HDMI HDTV Adapter OTG Card Reader Connection Kit
Mhl 2.0?
Iv been dealing with these for about a year now. From my s3 to my note 3. With the s3 it's 2.0 so you have to provide external power but these things are the tits when it comes to the note 3 with 3.0 you can run USB and HDMI without power. I play games and use it for work with all wireless accessories it's awesome. Supports 1080p at 60hrtz. We sell them in our repair shop and on Ebay. Not often though as "normal" people don't see the capabilities of this lol.
Go buy one their awesome.

It's not immediately apparent, but the device pictured (and others like it, one of which I have) do have a port for charging: the micro usb. When I got mine it took me a minute to realize that, then it hit me that power would really be the only use for that port. So I plug one of my Sammy charging cables into it during use.

Keep in mind that our mini usb connector is not normal. It's not clear what the connector looks like on that link but I suspect it's the wrong one. But you could always get an adapter to make it work.

I have tried the micro usb that came with my logitech keyboard and it doesn't seem to fit in the 12.2 usb slot. There is resistance and I don't want to force it for fear of bending the pins. That's the reason I have said that the normal micro usb doesn't fit.
All of my micro-USB accessories fit just fine in mine (mhl, OTG, chargers)

Hm, the one that came with my Logitech K801 fits perfectly.
There are pins on the USB plug's bottom side that ensure the cable remains in place. It's possible those were not quite as flexible as the ones on the Samsung cable.
(I'll not ask if you're using the right side of the slot, I'm assuming that much was obvious )
Thanks Shadow...I tried again, forcing it this time and you are correct. It fits. I apologize to all for my misleading comments I said before in this thread about the Micro USB not working. It just required a little harder push.

It's the same as the V50 & G8X, so a proper desktop mode but not as advanced as DeX. I have a NexDock 2 and use it with Samsung DeX and Huawei Easy Projection all the time. Looking at videos of LGs desktop mode it will do a reasonable job, which is all I need. Once Linux on DeX went away and Samsung dropped the 3.5mm headphone port I realised that I needed something different for my next device.
Can someone give a short how to?
I used a USB-c hub that has HDMI. I connected the hub to the USB-c port, and the monitor the the HDMI. It does not work with the magnetic port, it seems. (Though the magnetic port does support connecting to a computer with USB). You get a desktop, and can use the phone itself as a trackpad. If the hub has power in, you can keep the phone powered.
It is really too bad about the magnetic port, since I like to keep the phone in the dual case, and am afraid that too much in and out of the case will damage the UCR port of the phone...

So I have the same concern and never take mine out of the dual screen case. Could it be the cable used doesn't have all the pins needed internally and this may work? I can't see how it would work to a computer and not a TV.

never mind. USB-C is 22 active pins. That explains why the 12 pin magnetic connector doesn't work for HDMI.
