Now overclock on motorola razr/droid razr/razr maxx is possible. All the three devices have the common method to overclock!
Here is how you do it:-
1. Download script manager (VIA Android Market Its Free)
2. Download Overclock zip on computer move to root of ext-sdcard on phone
3. Download your desired overclockprofile (You want the overclockprofiles to be on your internal sdcard not ext)
4. Flash OverClock Zip in recovery no need to wipe anything5. Go into script manager scroll down to the overclockscript you want to use select it
5.A pop box will appear from where you have select "SU" then select "BOOT"and top right hit save then reboot your phone
6.. Enjoy!!!!
Optional Use quickclock advanced to overclock you device ( If your going to download and install quick clock please do not open it until you have done all the other steps it will make thing more difficult )

If you're worried about the battery then use SetCPU instead of Quickclock and set a profile of 600-300MHz when screen is off. You're battery life will become awesome!

Not that mush. If you overclock it will use more battery, but it will also get the job done faster and therefore sleep longer.
You will probably see bigger changes depending on reception then overclocking.

Welcome to The EternityProject's Deodexed Stock Rom by shady_lanem
Prerequisites:
GSM International Version only
Tested on build number 6.5.1-73_SPU
System Version 651.73.23
Bootstrap Recovery
What do we have here?
Fully deodexed stock rom done manually by Shady of EternityProject Team.
Which version of gsm is compatible with this Rom?
As of now, I only tested on European 6.5.1-73. Those with different build number flash this at your own risk.
Why deodex?
Mainly for theming and slight noticeable increment of performance and speed on the phone
Issues/Bugs (Please report or leave comments if you found any errors)
- Swype and moto input keyboards force closes
- Apps associate with Motocast will get errors (Music, gallery, wifi on) ---> Temporary solution is to freeze or remove the ZumoService.apk in system/app
Download:
http://www.multiupload.com/KI2Q75LSD8
Temporary Swype fix ---> http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?sjsj8wh75tix53s
Download Instructions:
1. Download the zip file and put into your sdcard
2. Enter bootstrap recovery
3. Go to Install from sdcard
4. Install the zip file
5. Wipe cache partition
6. Reboot (Reboot will take a very long time, don't worry it's not bricked. Just be patience)

I have used a way to enable init.d support in the current ROM without using the kernel functionality. This was used in the Atrix during the days when the bootloader is locked. Attached is the file which you can flash with some tweaks on a ROM.
can i just flash this in stock for init.d support or is this just some tweaks that get put into an existing init.d tweak?

Various Kernel and RAM tweaks, low memory tweaks.
They are all over the forum. The point here is that this will enable init.d and you can yourself include your own tweaks.
I've been trying to read up on this to learn more about init.d
...looks like this file tweaks SD card read, virtual memory to conserve power, something about zipaligning....?
What are some other practical uses?
I'm itching to be able to tweak my Razr more.....dang bootloader........
Edit: Found this link, maybe helpful http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1227269
What is the advantage of flashing this?
Dont most Roms already come with this stuff done? Atleast I see with the cdma roms it seems like. Ahh so its similar to this?

Caution: It has been reported by a few that this script crash their root access and I have no idea why as this should not happen. Please read the thread carefully before you flash it into your system.
Adrenaline Boost may terminate your app like alarm ! One have reported to me that Adrenaline Boost terminate his alarm and almost make him lose his job because of woke up late
Proceed with your own risk !
What is this?
This is the actually the boost file from my CPU_Script
For those who have already use my CPU Script in 1st post , this is already included in the flashable zip package , so no need flash this again !
When and Why should I use this ?
Your phone's ram usage will get higher and higher everyday then you will find your phone become an @ss because it's turtle speed and only reboot fix this problem, this is because the os create system cache everyday that's why the ram get heavier and heavier everyday !
This script act like an adrenaline shot for your Phone.
It helps you to clear your system cache, get more free ram for you and gravely boost your phone's performance !
Best use before gaming !
Please be note that this script clear your system cache and your cpu will work hard to build back needed cache.
Some have reported to me that the Opera browser crash after boost when open over 3 tabs.
You system need caches to work , this boost is intended to clear old cache that are no longer using and let the system to build new cache, so if u boost it too often , your cpu will be very busy building caches and may consume more battery than normal !
Use it when it's needed !
What you need:
A Working Android Device

This really do nothing..... System already got automatic function to drop caches in memory.... but it really useful if you are going to start a intensive game. As this boost only once and need you load the script to dropcache again.
Here is the code example;
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
# Adrenaline Boost
# Brought to you by [email protected] Developers
sync;
sleep 1
echo "3" > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches;
sleep 1

Also I have few questions :
1. Will any feature wont work if I root my mobile?
2. Are their any harm in overclocking the mobile?
3. Do I need to follow any other tutorial to over clock it or by rooting it will be overclocked?
4. Will the layout be changed or can be chnaged than the default after rooting?
Thank you for reading

1. Everything should work if u dont delete its parts
2. I dont see any
3. U need amother app to overclock - eg. No-frills.
4. No. U need to change it on ur own.

Also please link to a tut for rooting which is perfectly working and all features working coz I read somewhere that for Explorer WiFi was not working. Also please link to overclocking app tut that is really good.

Thanks
Custom rom has nothing to overclocking. U need custom kernel. As I see there is custom kernel in jaggyjags ROM <- and this is what let overlclocking. U can use any rom (even stock) but u need to flash custom kernel.
What's the difference between jaggyjags Rom and no frills which you mentioned for overclocking.
Also how do we install custom ROM after rooting our mobile. Please let me know in detail or link me to a tutorial as me doing it for the first time.

Rom has nothing to oc, but kernel (which is with this rom i think) can let u overclock, but u cant change it without 3rd party app - eg. No frills (free) or setcpu (paid).
However in this rom u got overclock to 800mhz without using anything.

No. No frills is only the example of program which let u overclock. U dont need to install it if u dont want to change oc more than it is.
If u dont need more than 800mhz (imcluded in rom - i dont know if it is possible to increase it on ur phone) u dont need to install any apps like no frills

Jaggysrom provides what you need to over-clock with something like No-Frills, No-Frills lets you actually over-clock it.

Be careful when you root, rooting is officially irreversible and can cause problems such as the sd card not being recognized.
Rooting has done so many small problems to my phone, if I had another android phone, I would take advantage of the warranty and not root.
I have followed tutorials for my phone, mostly involving a computer, I can declare that my phone is not an independent device anymore. Be aware of these risks. Without the warranty of android, a phone's lifetime can shorten.
Guys I have sgy but going to get the explorer.
To explain the oc process.
No frills is an app that when you open it, it gives you the choices to set the minimum and maximum speeds in all modes of your device. On sgy the settings would be 832 MHz max and 33? On the low end. With a 400 + setting and 600+ setting. Then a choice of governors which is what limits the performance. Like conservative or performance. You choose. Hope that helps. Btw could it be called an upgrade from sgy to htc explorer? But the real question is, is there a way to install cwm recovery without pc and rooting without pc. Please share links and zips for root unroot and cwm. Thank you.

Im coming from CM 10.1 nightlies and in CM I just go to settings - performance and overclock. But in v8 I found no similar option so i downloaded SetCpu and the highest I could go was 1000mhz. In setcpu, you should be able to set it to 1.2 or 1.4 GHz. Can you attach a screenshot of setcpu and settings -> about? And you're sure you're using A1 or Yoda? Not stock kernel?

Yes, I've also tried using latest version of A1, and I have also done Wipe data, cache, and dalvik. I know I don't need to when changing kernels, but i tried anyways and still didn't work. I did notice this one thing, after CWM recovery installs the kernel it asks me, "ROM may flash stock recovery on boot. Fix? And then I have the options to choose No, Yes - disable recovery flash, and Go Back. I always chose No. Could this be it? Also, I've attached screenshots as requested.

The cwm thing is nothing. It asks you because it thinks that you are flashing a new recovery. Saying yes or no doesn't affect anything.
Now that is weird, can you download the app 'CPU Spy Reborn' and screenshot to me that page? Because that app shows you the CPU frequency range.
