I have only experienced the screen from the og evo and the qhd on the 3d but the rave seems to be the samsung samoled screen. Those that have have hands on with other screens what is the best looking screen in your opinion? I have spent time with the retina display on the iphone 4 which is nice but is just way too small for me. I have read the super amoled plus is as good as the retina i just havent had hands on time with it. Is it that much better than the 3d's screen?

I've had the Epic 4g (not touch) and the Nexus S 4g, EVO and EVO 3d and I can honestly say the S AMOLED screens have better color than the Evo 3d but I still prefer the Evo 3d screen.
I prefer the sgs 2 screen is really good too bad is not 720p cause those phones got some really big screen, so far my favorite definition and screen is the iPhone 4, really make a difference when looking right next to another phone , evo 3d is just wash out for some reason

From what I've heard, the lg nova screen is the best screen on the market. I haven't actually seen one though. I thought the sgs2 screen was too cartoony looking.
iPhone 4 was nice but I agree that it was too small. I had one for about 8 months and then went to an atrix. The pentile display was pretty crappy.

I like my 3d screem the best. Super amiled looks dark all the time to me and the iphone 4 whites look pink. Maybe i just had 2 bad phones.

I am definitely interested in seeing the 720 hd display on the new google phone. I am just amazed how fast phones are progressing. I wish they had a 6 month upgrade plan and even then you would be behind the times. I am still shocked at the camera on the prime though. I know mp arent the only thing that matters but at this point 8 is the standard it seems and many are coming in at 12mp. Hell i remember when phones first got cameras and how awesome everyone thought they were

I had the Nexus one before and right after I switched to the 3D I noticed the screen wasn't as good as the AMOLED. That being said, after a couple days it wasn't an issue, I only noticed after using it for over a year and immediately comparing it.
Side by side there's a difference but the E3D screen is just fine. I wouldn't base any decisions off the screen.
EVO 3D screen is good enough for me...

iphone screen size is too small... 3.5"
Super amoled is superior in terms of color, but it is darker than qhd. I personally like the qhd, and even with a side by side comparison to the best screen out there I would never have that be what determines the phone I get
I think that samoled is prettier to look at, but I'm happy with the Evo 3d's qhd crispness!

After having both an AMOLED incredible and an nexus S 4g with a super AMOLED, I couldn't go back.
I'm actually more concerned with screen resolution than screen type. After using qHd I could never go back to 800x480.

This. Especially when using LCD Changer and changing the density to a smaller one..the E3D shines!
My friends have the SGSII, NS4G, and Epic 4G. After using their phones I feel like my screen is definitely second-rate, although the qHD aspect of the EVO 3D's screen is soooo incredibly awesome.
The SGSII may be only 480x800, but each pixel also has 3 sub-pixels, so keep that in mind when bashing it's resolution.
After owning the E3D and now the SGS2, I must say the SGS2 screen just amazes me everytime I look at it. Resolution truly means nothing when comparing these 2 screens.
I do agree that the SGS2 looks more cartoony but I think it just looks more fun because of that. The E3D looks like a much more series screen. The colors on the E3D look extremely washed out when comparing to an Super Amoled Plus Screen. It almost looks like the screen has been sitting out in the sun for months and just faded.....
Speaking of the sun, when outdoors the SGS2 screen can be seen crystal clear as well. It can't even be explained, it is just something you need to see. The screen just cuts through the sun....
You just need to decide what is important to you and go with it. To some the screen means everything, to others not so much.....Either way the SGS2 takes the cake when comparing screens.......
SAMOLED by a mile. As for people saying the SAMOLED screens look over-saturated: You're probably just too used to the washed out LCD look. I truly miss my Epic's screen, even with it having a pentile sub-pixel matrix.
Best things about the sgs2 screen is the color depth, the whites and blacks are amazing. The evo3d screen as a lot better resolution, but you get used to it after a few weeks. As far as the oversaturaed look people mentioned , there are different modes in the display settings to adjust the color saturation to your liking.
I try but i just cant see why everybody likes amoled so much. I tried to love my nexus s 4g screen but couldnt handle it. Its so dark, the whites look like they need bleached. I have noticed that the evo3d only looks bad when someone is taking a video of it such as youtube. I do need to spend more time with the samoled plus screen. Im also not buying in the the samsung 3 sub-pixl thing either.

The screen is different on the sgs2 then it is on the Nexus 4G. On the sgs2 the screen is nice and bright, far from being considered to dark. You really need to see it in person, you cannot base your opinion off of the Nexus 4G, they are different screens.
I set my 3D to full brightness, and did the same with my bro's Nexus-S 4G ...we then opened up the first level of Angry Birds RIO since the game has pretty much every color under the sun. The colors on the Nexus were richer, with more contrast...but the smaller details were far far better on the Evo. The most obvious difference was the eyes in the birds. On the Evo they were clearly detailed, you could see the outter and inner eye while on the Nexus it pretty much a blur with some pixelation. Try it out. I also felt the 3D had a second rate screen as well, still do actually, but that was a welcome surprise.
I used the nexus one for two years EXTREMELY HAPPY. until I dropped and broke it. So I went to buy a phone and I was initially going to buy the amaze, but for some reason my brother, the strore owner and my mom all loved samsung so I said fine. I HATE THIS PHONE.
i've had the sgs2 for about two days and can tell you from all the research i've done and shots i've taken. my moms my touch 4g takes better pictures. my nexus pictures comes out almost the same clarity sometimes even better. I did some research, and this is what I did not know, If you guys knew anything about camera's the HTC amaze comes with a backside illuminated sensor only one other phone has that and that's the iphone 4s. the aperture on the htc amaze is also f/2.2 compared to sgs2 which is around f/2.7 and better than the iphone 4s which is f/2.4. the lower the aperture the more light the camera lets in and thus better picture quality comes out.
As far as the phone itself goes I hate the SGs2, not because its a bad phone....samsung is just retarted with all that real estate I can only see like 6 contacts on a screen at a time and in many screen everything is blow up and cannot be changed unless you changed the density of the phone after rooting, which messes with the programs and doesn't show them correctly and the phone itself. but when I did this, the contact screen and the settings screens looked amazing, they showed, the dialer was about 1/4 of the screen and the rest was black (this is what I mean about messing things up changing pixel density) with the superamoled plus I have changed the densit of my phone to 160 from the original 240 and EVERYTHING looks VERY crisp BECUAUSE OF THE EXTRA SUBPIXELS...everything on the SGs2 looks TOO BIG stock...its like a kids toy, that screen can hold 25 icons easily instead of the regular 16 or whatever (as I use launcherpro to cram the icons) even the notification bar is too big...sure it has a big screen but if you have a smaller phone that gives you the same effect (5 or 5 contacts in one screen etc. and same amound of icons like my old nexus one) I'd take the smaller phone over the sg2 that does not use the big screen efficiently AT ALL so i don't have to lug a big thing around...some programs like the web browser and messaging you can decrease font size and it is still perfectly clear and crisp due to the extra subpixels even though its a 480 by 800 phone, I don't understand why samsung didn't make this an option for the entire phone. there's nothing superior in the galaxy S 2 over the HTC amaze, besides having better color on the screen than a qhd lcd (which some say is better) and being lighter....touchwiz 4.0 has nothing over sense either... even the lockscreen is crap on touchwiz, I had to buy widgetlocker pro to use instead of the regular one. the build quality of HTC amaze is sturdy and nice, yes a little heavier than sgs2 which uses all plastic...I plan on getting a case for either one so I don't care if its made of plastic or metal, if you're going to argue the dropping the phone is better with plastic.
The amaze also packs like 4 microphones while the sgs 2 has 2. the sgs2 speakphone is very muffled and crappy, where the htc amazes is extremely clear.
I am so pissed with such a nice screen on this phone samsung could have lowered the density and given us much more for the real estate instead they were just lazy and kept the same old thing. It like me having a 50 inch monitor that is can show crisp at lower resolutions but I limit the system to having a lower density or resolution. Maybe some people like the BIG OLD spaced out icons and contact list, but I'm not a 90 year old person who needs a big icons and fonts like that.
as far as the galaxy nexus goes I have not seen one yet, but samsung again cheped out on the camera and the processor. it has a 720p pentil amoled, which is yet to be determined if it will prove to overcome the pentile downfall.
also the amaze has a dedicated camera and camcorder button.
I hope as they update to ICS they can change the density of this screen, then I might think about keeping the phone...otherwize I'm going to HTC amaze or something better that comes out by then.
I don't hate samsung, infact I love samsung TV's better than all TV's and have a galaxy tab 10.1 which is running stock honeycomb and will never upgrade to touchwiz. Samsung shines in screen quality thats all they know how to do. ( The camera department and software department of samsung is lacking, as well as some hardware. now If they can only get the software department to use the very nice screen the way it was supposed to be used...if you count the subpixels on the sgs2 and the htc amaze. They both come out almost equal. with and edge actually on the sgs2. learn how to use your screens samsung!!!!

So you write this to convince yourself to get the amaze. as much as opinions go, you state the camera is better and screen real estate could be better as well as pixel density. It's pretty clear this phone is not for you. If you're within buyers remorse why not just return it if you feel this opinionated and unhappy with it?

This phone has issues too but I think they are much more tolerable than overheating, battery and signal issues. The Amaze has issues that most likely will never be fixed with software.

Meh... enjoy being able to fry an egg on your HTC phone & having to carry a charger with you everywhere you go.
This reminds me of waaaaay back in early 05 when I was devving for the Sidekick II. The Treo 650 had just been announced and I was sick of having to hack the hell out of my SKII just to get ringtones on it, so I was gung-ho to get a T650. I went to the Danger forums & posted a long rant just like this about how much I hated the SKII & how I was gonna get the T650 as soon as I got paid. Lets just say that we've been MUCH nicer to the OP here than the Sidekick crew was to me xD Their general (and cleaned up) response was "don't let the door hit you in the ass, *****". Granted, I WAS happier with the Treo, but yeah... bashing a device IN that device's home forum- not the best idea! lol...

I'm sick of HTC. I've had the N1, MT4G, and the Sensation ALL with some type of dust under the screen problem with the sensation being the worst (which is why I got rid of it as soon as I noticed and picked up the SGS2 and am damn happy about it). I did love those phones, especially the beloved N1, but I can't stand seeing that dust when the screen was off or if I used a dark wallpaper. The only thing I do miss is the qHD and CM7, but the SAMOLED makes up for the screen and cyanogen himself said CM is being worked on already for the 989, so I'm pretty stoked for that too.
Hi bro.
It looks like Rezound is the best spec of HTC 2011, but not really that good for my expectation (Display PPI or battery or SW ICS....). Just wonder which main feature you guys look forward to most for your next HTC phone?? HTC should hear our voice for better strategy!
Seems like you have unrealistic expectations.
I'm a big fan of the call button since it is a phone.
KORM via the beast known as the Rezound.
I'm confused. Are you saying the display has too many PPI, or are you saying it doesn't have enough?
Idk how the displays ppi isn't up to your expectations... I think it's beautiful. What were you expecting, 4k x 2k?

Cause he's a nexus fan boy and likes dem pixelated displays.
For me, I think the resolution of the display is about the max you could need in a phone for at least the foreseeable future. Finding individual pixels on this screen is very difficult.
The current performance level is good as well, though who can complain if given more. LOL
All I really want now is better battery life, and a 4 inch screen with a design that fits the hand well. (large screens plus thin profile is uncomfortable to hold and use one handed... think Razr)
I find that the large screens are just getting too big for day to day use, comfort, and ease. 4.3 inch is really the largest I can stand (or really the overall phone size for this range. the Rezound reaches the max size I can be comfortable using) If I could have a device that was similar in size to my old MT4G with a 4 inch screen, current gen dual core, good battery life, and 720p resolution I would be ecstatic.
Even the battery complaint is puzzling. All top shelf Android phones stink in the longevity dept. That problem definitely wouldn't be solved by going to the nexus or razr. From the inspire on att to the droid charge, to the droid bionic, to the rezound, battery life hasn't strayed too far, regardless of specs. But i would definitely like to see all the manufacturers, and Google work on battery management and capacity.

Yeah better efficiency in both hardware and software is needed.
And getting back to reasonable size screens would help too.
I would like to see the next best come with an unlocked bootloader :-D and have the HTC hub and such
I might prefer a 4" in the past, but only because I hated that all the larger screens had the same resolution as smaller screens making them pixalated, though I can say I do enjoy the extra screen space on the rezound thanks to the high dpi and rez.. I would maybe like to see an led screen without any lines/banding that doesn't over saturate colors. But the SLCD completely satisfies me anyway because it does not have those issues
Everyone wants better battery life of course. I'm impressed by the life I get from my phone. I can easily go all day without charging it...
Maybe an optical rear camera, and a next generation processor and GPU? Hell idk what else other than continuing to optimize android OS and making it even better.
Oh and I guess nfc options lol
Edit: it would also be nice if the re-designed the LED notification light to something a little more visible and multi colored, possibly maybe make one of the soft keys glow or something neat.
As well as multi color soft keys. Though if they moved away from softkeys, I wouldn't mind if they did others might have preference, they should also make on-screen keys color changeable as well.
This is my first HTC phone and honestly might be my last since Verizon doesn't like their stance on unlocking phones. Besides that, when I'm up for a new phone I'm going to compare the specs of all available manufacturers/models instead of being a brand whore and taking up whatever my "fave" is dropping in that time frame.
Battery issues will be over in a few years. Researches are developing a new way to build l-io batteries. These batteries will take 15 to charge and last a few days. Search my posts , I linked the article a few weeks back

I want to ask you... How do you feel about the ATRIX's screen? I know it's a TFT LCD with the RGBW matrix, which is what makes my brain twist and say "OH SH*T NO". What's your say on that?
Also... voice quality... Is it loud & clear enough? I mean, compared to other phones you might have owned...
And the camera?
-----
And... most of all... the chipset?! How is it going for you?! I hear it is actually less performant & more power-hungry than Qualcomm's dual core, but I don't really know...
awh its a great phone......but stock gb rom sucks. u wud love it if you are a social networking fan!! for me im pretty happy with my cm flavored atrix. the chip is good, camera is okay.....and about sound i dont give huge scores! display hmmm u shud love it!!

This whole weekend I've been going back and forth, deciding to trade it for an ATRIX, then changing my mind and returning to HTC... Now I was sure I was gonna make the switch, but here I go again, returning to HTC.
The ATRIX's screen is TFT, as opposed to HTC's S-LCD, and that wouldn't be THAT MUCH of a problem if it didn't had the RGBW matrix... I read a lot on the phone, and that would just ruin my experience, probably making me feel the urge to blend the phone or something.
I think I'll stick to HTC... If only Motorola were to use standard RGB...
good luck

I feel somewhat bad for all this (the whole back and forth thing). No phone has everything you need... at least not without some drawbacks, GOD DAMN IT
Sense is hard to leave, especially with sense 4 out now.

as you are concerned about the screen, maybe i can help a little. first off, i have really great eyesight, pentile matrix displays make me want to hurt people, but its not all bad. the qHD resolution makes the subpixles much harder to see, i personally can only see them when its about a foot or closer to my face, some colors i can see it farther away, such as green, i can see some distortion about a foot and a half away form my face. but its very hard to see, its a HUGE difference form say, a captivates pentile screen.
next thing to keep in mind is the colors. yellow is a big complaint, i dont notice it to much but the colors are far from perfect, i feel the screen is a hair cold by default, and there are ways to reduce the blue if you are rooted, i did a guide on it a while ago.
last thing is gradients, they look bad, that is the only thing i really am disappointed with, you can see artifacting as the colors shift, although i dont know if im crazy but it seems better then before.
keep in mind that all of these things you will get use to with a little time, i got use to them quickly and i am a stickler for screen quality. one of the goods of the screen though is the battery life, the type of display saves a ton of juice thus making one of the longest lasting phones of its time. now that, I love.
im not trying to bash my own phone here, i love it, and always will, its an amazing device and was everything i wanted when i got it. the screen is something i can live with, and the the battery life plus the higher resolution makes up for it in my book.
let me know if there is anything else you want to know, hope i was a little helpful.

I do a lot of reading on my phone, and having that screen would kill me... Plus the gradients thing... I noticed it in a 480p YouTube video, ffs, lol.
The battery is all nice, the chipset seems good enough, but even though the screen is all bright in the sun, its downs are making me wanna throw rocks at it, lol.

You know what, I think I'm gonna give the ATRIX a try. I'm going in a couple of hours to see that guy to make the trade.
Got the phone. Tinkered with it already. Love it so far! This PenTile isn't really awful.

It's hard for me to answer this.
I loved the EVO 3D. The back design made it attractive, and the overall body... it was nice, alright. Also, the big screen was neat.
There were a few things that made me change the phone. The screen was somewhat yellowish (had to use Filter Your Screen to add a blue alpha so it would not be so yellowish on white menus and so brownish on gray menus - but that still didn't fix it 100%). The earpiece was creaky, and so was the loudspeaker on maximum volume...
I wanted the ATRIX for it has a bigger battery, a decent chipset, and a more robust design. I mean... the body is more compact - feels better in the hand, more secure, I'd say. Besides, on this phone I no longer feel the urge to smash it on the wall for yellow whites or creaky voices in-calls.
Also, the screen is just AMAZING. Even though it's a TFT, and it's got PenTile, I find it really nice. The whites are PURE WHITE. The blacks are BLACK!!! Also, if you know that ICS wallpaper... it really looks better on the ATRIX. The colors were somewhat washed on the EVO 3D - proof that S-LCD still needed work. To be honest, I think this TFT screen can be compared to the Samsung Galaxy S's SUPER AMOLED.
Even if I turn down the screen's brightness to the minimum, the whites still blind me during night time, especially if I hold the phone somewhat close to my face. On full brightness, in the sunlight, it ROCKS !!!
The only thing I wished for is some aluminium on the body. It's all plasticky... good thing I have an iCase Pro (MOMAX) case, otherwise... I wouldn't really like it .

Don't get me wrong... MY phone was a bad unit - about the yellowish screen. Another friend had the 3VO and it was white, but compared to my ATRIX now, the ATRIX is white and his 3VO yellow.
The creaking earpiece was also a problem that occured later - I believe some water got in, idk.
The EVO 3D is a great phone.

Nice Review. The atrix is a BEAST especially when throwing Neutrino behind it!
I came from a iPhone 4 to the Atrix a few months ago and it has it's ups and downs. My only real gripe of any consequence is the battery life. It isnt terrible, but you have to do a little tweaking (at least with CM7, I found so). I've been playing with ICS on it and so far have noticed a slight improvement in that arena. Plus ICS feels like a much nicer UI overall.
I love the size of the screen on, and I personally have found no problem with it. My main use for the phone (other than calls) is web browsing and reading using the Kindle and nook, and aldiko book readers.
And music playback of course. I have one playlist or another going most of the time if I am not talking to someone (desk job, might as well get my tune on).
My headphone jack failed a month or so after I bought the phone (used, off ebay), and while it was at Motorola getting fixed (warranty job, only paid shipping to them) I was back on my I4 for a couple weeks and I felt a lot better getting the Atrix back, and not just for Android. You just get addicted to the larger screen so easy.
My secondary gripe of any matter is the placement of the power button. Just feels very awkward to use 1 handed. But I added a wake on volume mod instead, and that problem was solved.

I hate the iPhone. Overpriced, tiny 3.5 incher... Besides, Android is much better. Otherwise I would have gotten an iPhone...
If the EVO 3D unit I had didn't had those few things that I didn't like about (malfunctions, that is), I would've sticked to it. Just letting ya know. I consider the EVO 3D above the ATRIX (in some aspects, at leasts).
But compared to the iPhone 4S... The ATRIX wins big time. Bigger battery, better CPU, bigger RAM, better/nicer OS, bigger screen... The only thing I'm concerned about is the GPU. I know it's an 8-core UltraLowPower processor, but... does it really perform as good as/better than the PowerVR's or Adreno's?! I, for one, would say no but that might be some driver-related issue, which should/might be fixed when the official ICS drops...
Im glad you liked the Atrix. Its a pretty dam nice phone, im im love with it. Very fast and smooth. qHD screens are awesome. Great battery life. Feels very nice on my hand. Nice design, IMO. Welcome to the atrix family.

Ouch, gonna have to disagree there. Nothing really beats iPhones os, its sooo simple and easy to use. Best thing about it is that they DONT need quad core, even my ipad2 runs perfect with gaming. The OS is so perfectly optimized that even with my wife's 3gs, there are only a few hiccups. The one thing that I will agree with is the 3.5 inch screen. That's too small. Imagine a 4.3 inch with that retina display....mmmm......
But these are all personal opinions, and no one will ever agree.

Hi all,
Thinking about making the jump to Verizon again. My Sprint service is gotten really bad in Greensboro, NC. Sounds like the closest thing to my phone would be a Rezound in size and looks and having played with it at the store, I like it but up in the air about whether I should just hang tight for the new Incredible LTE that is coming soon or making the jump now. What would you do? Any major issues other than battery not lasting all day with this phone? I have read a lot of the threads and there does not seem to be any wide spread issues but just checking to see if I am missing something.
The Rezound has the higher resolution screen. You should be able to get it cheaper than the Inc 4G.
If you meet further conviction then check this thread out. It's a great community

Oh, I think the rezound is the best phone out.

similiar situation
I also made the switch from Sprint and the Evo to the Rezound. I am happy I did because I think the 4.3" screen is a perfect size along with it being an HD Screen. I don't like how they are making all these gigantic screens now. Initially I switched for the Razr but found the bezel to way to big around the screen which made it very wide and uncomfortable to hold. The Incredible LTE also looks great and I could get by with a 4" screen as well but I would probably go with the Rezound in your situation. One thing I am not impressed with on the Rezound is the the creaky back cover which is annoying and not built well. The Evo definitely had better build quality and I hope they addressed this with the new Incredible.
I had an evo 4G and 3D. I made the switch and could not be happier with my rezound. More storage for your apps and faster processor. Getting s-off is a little more tricky but it's not that difficult. Ultimately the choice is yours but just my $. 02.

Get the rezound! Screw the inc 4g. It would be like a downgrade. (but damn that s4 makes me jealous!)
I would wait for the inc. The battery life will likely be phenomenal. The rez gets about 2 hours of lte browsing maximum. If the inc is anything like the Att one x with the snapdragon S4 I would wait for that. The Att one x gets like 9 hours of lte browsing on a single charge.

Listen to this guy no the rest of us
Well, y'all did not make my choice any easier. Maybe I should wait for the INC LTE and take a look at it. I love my EVO with some Swag love but Sprint service is killing me.
As others have said, the Rezound is a way better screen. It is just perfect. Not microscopic like the iPhone, and not massive like the Note. Perfect size. But, if you want to get more than a few hours with 4g on, you need the extended battery.
I came from Sprint on the EVO4G to the Rezound. No regrets whatsoever. It's a sizable upgrade in terms of hardware.
The only thing you might find to your disliking is the lack of a functioning AOSP ROM like the EVO4G had. If you don't care for it, then there's nothing that should hold you back.
Just wait it out. See what you like better with both of them next to eachother. It is unwise to buy a phone that has been on the market this long. This phone has been out for about 6 months now which is AGES in the tech industry. Everything on the INC 4G will be better except the screen resolution and size depending on how large you like the screen to be.
Edit: More info
The INC 4G will have a qHD (960x540 display) @ 4". This is a density of 275.36 DPI
The Rezound has a 720p (1280x720) @ 4.3". This is a density of 341.54 DPI
If the Rezound had a qHD screen @ 4.3" it would be 256.15 DPI.
This all means that the qHD screen will look better in 4" than it would in 4.3" by a decent amount. So if you like a 4" screen the resolution is probably worth the trade off. Also, since you are coming from an EVO 4G @ (480 x 800) your display size was 2.21" × 3.69". This is a different aspect ratio than the qHD and 720p screens. The Rezound screen is 2.11" x 3.75." The INC 4G screen will be 1.96" × 3.49." This means that with the aspect ratio change, the INC 4G 4" screen won't be as small as a 4" inch screen that is the EVO 4G's resolution/aspect ratio.
Wow, I hope someone can make sense of that lol.
Personally the stock battery works great for me, and I do a bit of 4g browsing but you will most likely be on WiFi the majority of the time anyway. It lasts from 7 am to when I hit the hay, around 11 or 12. If you do need a bigger battery mugen has an extended that will fit in the same back cover. Check review probably of that I was going to get it but I don't really need it.

I agree it has an 8mp camera like the EVO but it just blows the evos camera outta the water. Amazing camera. Battery life is sub par unless rooted though

Inc 4g lets me down, I have little faith in Verizon to ever get anything up to date ~ by this I mean they do the smallest iota of change every new phone they accept and release
Wish I had my unlimited data plan on At&t haha
that S4 means practically nothing to me considering nothing lags on the Rezound thus far, battery life is what needs to be focused on, and camera =) I do like my camera on the go. The maxx got the battery I wished for, but Motorola is just too evil
Oh yeah... the Rezound is an awesome choice and you can't regret it
more years to come before 4g can be used off of a charger
Great phone. Fantastic specs, you can get the phone for short money. Perfect size and most importantly the radios in this phone are the strongest of all Verizon phones.

I'll chime in as a former Evo (and Photon) user on Sprint who spends time in Greensboro; I just switched to Verizon and the Rezound, and couldn't be happier, I'd definitely recommend it. You'll definitely love the phone, and the consistently fast data speeds in NC with Verizon.
(Now I just have a ton of reading to do, since rooting/unlocking/s-off/etc seems much more complicated than with the Evo).
One other thing: since the Evo name still holds some clout, you can probably still get a decent price if you sell it - and then with that to cover part of the cost, it couldn't hurt to shop around on craigslist or swappa for very gently used Rezounds if you want to just start a line with Verizon without using the discount just yet (that's what I did, although I'm so happy with this phone I may not need that upgrade for quite awhile).
