[Q] Install Android 3.X on ZIIO 7 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Everyone,
I've been wondering if there's a possibility to upgrade my Ziio7 tablet to Android 3.2. Yesterday I managed to root it successfully but a vision of newer OS is so nice
Nevertheless, I've searched through few forums and googled the topic but no way I can find any suitable answers. Maybe I'm searching using wrong criterias?
If someone konows how to do the trick I'd be grateful for any suggestion.
Thanks in advance,
Radek

Honeycomb never has its source released originally, so ICS would be a better bet to look for. It has specs to run ICS 1ghz processor and 512MB RAM. But from the looks of it there isn't really any dev support and there isn't even a GB update out there.

Many thanks for your reply.
I must admit that I'm quite a newbie in these matters.
Do you think there's any possibility to install more recent android version on my device?

[Q] Port Android 2.2 to 2.3 Devices

I really think about it a lot, but i cant find an answer.
Is it possible to Port an Android 2.2 ROM to a Device that was delivered with Android 2.3 Gingerbread?
Please donĀ“t ask why anybody would do that, because i have no idea
Possible? Sure. But if you cannot see a reason for doing so, why even suggest it? And seeing as actually porting a ROM is a LOT more effort than posting on a forum, no one will do such a thing, as it is completely pointless. If the device can run 2.3, run 2.3.
Maybe some Retro Fan would like it
If the device was shipped with 2.3, it probably has sufficient resources to run it. On older phones I can see why you'd install an older version.
But sure, everything is possible (ICS on dream).
I think Froyo on e.g Galaxy s Plus would be awesome.
Gonna try it
Sad that i dont have much experience :/

[Q] A question about building a rom

Hi everybody and thanks for helping me with this question,
I wanted to build a new ROM for my android phone, but with an older version of android, mainly because my actual ROM version is 4.0.4 and I think it consumes more RAM than older ones, and my phone really lacks of RAM (320 MB), maybe FROYO or GB would be better.
So the problem is there are no other ROMS or Recoveries that actually work with this phone, the information that may serve you is that
its ROOTED
havent changed recovery,so I guess its official recovery
ICS 4.0.4 as I said before
320MB RAM, 1GHz Processor (MTK6575)
After reading some topics about building roms, I was wondering if its possible to downgrade my phone, using my actual ROM as base. I mean, if its possible to somehow extract useful information (like drivers), and use them in an older version of android from they were extracted. Please help me with this, I and many other users will really thank you a lot. Sorry if I wrote something bad or strange, english isnt my native language.

[Q] Gah! Head hurts, want to root my GT-7510 ICS - Please help!

I've been reading forums and searching forums all day, but can't seem to find a definitive answer to whether I'll be able to root my specific version of tablet or not, there's so many different types, build numbers, UK versions/US versions my head is close to blowing! Any advice would be soo much appreciated.
I bought a tablet off Ebay, a GT-7510 (US version I think, although I live in the UK) which came with Honeycomb installed. I then updated OTA to ICS 4.0.4, but it seems pretty laggy in general compared to the other Galaxy tabs I've seen, now I'm at the point where I'd like to root it and try some custom roms to see if they're any better than the stock ICS rom.
Here is the info for my tab which I think is relevant:-
Android Version 4.0.4
Kernel version 3.1.10
Build number IMM76D.UELPL
I've found so many different methods of how to root certain variations, but can't be certain if one of them applies to my tablet, whether I'd have to flash it back to Honeycomb, whether it only works for UK or US versions etc etc, that I've given up searching and thought I'd start my own post, and hope that somebody could tell me whether I can definitely root my device, and which would be the best method to do it? I have no warranty on my device as it's a refurb, so rooting doesn't bother me, but I'm worried about using the wrong method and bricking it.
Really hope somebody can help me, thanks very much in advance for any advice.

For the P7510, rooting it is dead easy - just download a recovery and flash it using ODIN. See the rooting guides here. Honeycomb doesn't complicate things at all.
Thanks k1mu, when you say honeycomb doesn't complicate it at all, some of the guides I've read specify that they're for honeycomb installations only, I have the stock ICS rom which was installed OTA, is Android version not an issue anymore, and the guides will work no matter which version you have installed? Also, my tablet is a GT-7510, not a P7510, not sure what the difference is, if any? Sorry if I seem dumb, just want to be sure before I go ahead.
Thanks very much for your help.
Just to update for anybody searching who is as confused as I was, I got root access using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2029664 from user Jovimon.

[Q] Questions about new Fire HDX 8.9 Tablet

Hello everyone. I always wanted to buy a tablet and now I found out about new kindle tablet (the one with 2.5 GHz quad-core processor and adreno 420 GPU). I tried reading the forums, yet I was not able to understand a few things.
1) Will It be possible to root it or it will come with new firmware and it will not be possible to root it anytime soon?
2) Will it be possible to install custom ROM?
I am sorry if there are same threads, however I was not able to find any.
well

Let me just get out my crystal ball and check for you .lol
No but really if it follows suit with the HDX it will be locked up tight I am not wasting my money or my time.
Some developer or developers will find a in. They're quite awesome!
I don't know which version of the firmware is going to ship on these new devices, but here's a threat about a new, KitKat-based firmware that can NOT be rooted (yet): http://forum.xda-developers.com/kindle-fire-hdx/general/update-1314-4-1-1-probably-sangria-t2901813

TC103C lollipop update to TC103CG

Hello xda community,
Previously I owned a TF103C and on that one Asus supported the community with a lollipop ROM. Updating the device was pretty easy and lollipop worked hell lot better than 4.4.2 Kitkat. I just received a TF103CG from Ebay and its kind of bitter surprise that it seems that updating to lollipop is not easy if even possible. After hours of googling and forum reading I couldn't locate anything which has a promise of success.
Alright, sorry for the (probably) totally dumb question, but... is the ROM offered by Asus for the TF103C is applicable to the TF103CG as well? As far as I know the difference between the C and the CG model is that the latter has a 3G modem built in, otherwise the specs are the same. The build number of my device is KVT49L-WW_epad-11.2.2.24-20150810 release-keys 044000255_201405090027, the device is currently rooted.
Thanks in advance,
i-
I saw some post, that says, that there is no way to flash our device. The only variant is to flash it to stock if you have some troubles (unsucessful rooting or flashing uncompatible fw etc.)
so now i'm worry about optimisation this device using any tweaks for memory cleaning.
ah damn. i installed the twrp for nothing then T_T
