I just bought Bell samsung galaxy s2. I did some test and found
the wifi reception is very weak. I used HTC desire before. The wifi
reception is very good. tested at same place.
Does anybody get the same problems?
How to fix it?
Thanks!

Hi - Just got a Galaxy SII (UK version) to use on AT&T. When I'm on wifi, i have no problems connecting to my company VPN (PPTP connection) yet, disconnected from wifi and just on a 3G/H+ connection, I'm getting a connection error and it won't connect. I'm on the AT&T "enterprise 4G" plan - not sure what, if anything, is the problem. No problems connecting on my Verizon Android Phone or my iphone4 on AT&T but no joy with Galaxy. Any suggestions/help? Apologize in advance if it's something obvious I should know
It's an Sgs ii bug... search I already reported it. Works fine on my Sgs I.

Hello everyone,
I own a Samsung Galaxy S2 and a HTC Desire HD. I am absolutely thrilled with so many things on the SGS2 but lately I've found that the wireless signal strength on my HTC Desire HD seems to be a lot stronger than my SGS2.
I've checked this holding both phones in the exact same spot connecting to the same router and found that the bars on the HTC always seem higher than the SGS2.
Thinking it just might have something to do with the way the phones were displaying the strength - I placed both phones in one location and found that the HTC was streaming music seamlessly but the SGS2 was losing signal strength and had to keep rebuffering and in some cases lost signal completely and I had to walk back to a strong spot and restart the wifi on the phone for it to pick up again.
Has anyone else been facing these issues?
Both phones are running Android 2.3.3 - is there any fix out there for it? I remember reading somewhere that this had to with Gingerbread on Samsung as this problem was faced earlier on the Samsung but after updating to Gingerbread the problem reappeared.
Anyone know if there's any fix for this to boost signal strength?
Much thanks in advance for any help offered.
-AndroidFreud.
Signal strength or inaccurate bars use tool to measure signal strength is the only measure of the wifi .

Thanks for the quick response - I will try that out.
But what I'm finding is the the current default wi-fi bars on both handsets seem accurate.
Holding the SGS2 and the HTC DHD in the exact same spot & streaming music from Winamp - the HTC plays the music uninterrupted whereas the SGS2 keeps losing the connection and has to buffer again.
I had seen some earlier threads that this was a problem on the SGS as well but it was fixed later. And then the Gingerbread update came out and the problem was back again.
Is this the case for anyone else. Seeing as they fixed it before is anyone aware of a fix for this to boost the wi-fi signal reception?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
-AndroidFreud.
hello everybody this is my first post in xda.
i just want to know how is the 3g signal in comparison of both phone for you
because i have a htc sensation 4g tmobile version and google nexus one.
and in both phone the 3g signal work diferent, in the nexus one i get more or less good signal in some areas but with the htc sensation i get very bad or zero signal.
i just want to know if the samsung galaxy s2 have better signal strength than htc sensation in 3g.
this is because i have a data plan and i want to get the best performance with my phone. depending in what you say i will buy a samsung galaxy the next week.
thanks for all your helps.
and i'm really sorry for my bad english.

If you own both the Galaxy Nexus and the tab 10.1 could you answer a quick question?
How does the wifi signal strength compare to the tab 10.1? As far as I can tell, the tab 10.1 has an amazing wifi radio, never had a problem with it. I own a Nexus S and it's terrible, drops signal all the time, have 2 bars out of 3 when I'm in the same room as the router.
Thanks in advance.
Maybe you should try some other modems for your Nexus, can make a big difference.
hi all,
anyone having issues with signal dropping and calls droppimg on the galaxy s3?
Im with o2 uk and the missus is with 3uk and we both have the same issue with signal loss and calls dropping. even if we both have full signal calls drop an theres loss of signal for a few seconds then it comes back.
is this a known issue? surely both of our handsets are not faulty with the exact issue?
cheers,
ed
Yeah I have signal issues, I'm on giffgaff. I've tried flashing a few modems but reception and call drops are still here
