Sorry if this question is stupid, but can i use the RSD Lite software to flash an US Atrix 4G Gingerbread SBF on my international Atrix? Also, if that is possible, will I be able to receive the ICS update along with other AT&T Atrix 4G users?
Thanks.

Wonder if there is truth to this or not.
if it is true then +1 to verizon. tmobile or att would probably allow them even if they were buggy.
Yeah I saw that on phonearena.com this morning. I wonder how often this kinda stuff happens. Moto needs to step up their game bigtime.

Lmao are you kidding me? Have you seen how long it takes AT&T to push out updates to their android phones?
I'd rather have a buggy release sooner because devs on XDA are like 10x faster at fixing them anyways.
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
Maybe the update also has the possibility to unlock bootloader and Verizon is saying f*&k no, take it back.
probably not, but would suck for vzw users
Hopefully that doesn't delay the Atrix update D:
Forget that. Send it out now. I trust our devs more than moto to fix the bugs and do it better lol.

because att has most likely seen this and other carriers might follow? who knows.
think about if verizon doesnt let this release because of so many bugs, then think about if att does let it release with all its bugs. people will think att is careless, att doesnt want that im sure.. just my oppinion

It's relevant because the same or similar bugs could exist in the Atrix GB they are developing. Also, if they are putting more resources into making Verizon happy, this could delay an Atrix release.
The whole point of the thread was to raise discussion about the possible implications if this news is in fact true.
I don't think that it should have any effect on our beloved Atrix 2.3 release (AT&T version), coz the bootloader is unlocked, so even if the update will be buggy the skillful devs here at XDA will do there magic to provide us with stable roms.

I very much doubt that AT&T or Moto will be relying on XDA devs to finish their work for them.

I believe you are wrong. As soon as the GB update goes live everyone is going to dump the HKTW build and flash the Moto update. At that point everyone is running stock and waiting for devs to fix all their complaints. Yes most of us will not be running stock, but that will be after the update comes.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
I'm not dumping the HKTW build until it's been verified that the AT&T 2.3.4 build will have an unlockable bootloader. I've had a couple of friends that got hurt by the Sprint EVO 4G update and are still stuck waiting just to get root back.

Um, I believe none of us can know exactly what will be out. For all you or I know, we could be on the verge of cm7. With most things working.
Of course, a reply I would expect from you is "the devs won't have roms out by then."

I just wonder if Motorola has released the update of 2.3.5 for the Atrix 4G. I know that the Atrix 2 does come with the new update of 2.3.5! Any ideas?
Not that I know of but for now ROMs are taking care of making the phone fast hopefully support continues though

I need to know soon, cause I might trade my phone to a guy that is switching carriers from Verizon. My phone is s-off running cleanrom 4.5. What do I need to do?
ICS Rezound.
Read the threads on GSM support.

to what carrier? No hspa support for t-mobile and at&t is wonky at best.
These are not gsm based phones so trying to get them working is a headache.

None, now. But for future reference does 3G and SMS/mms work for t mobile?
ICS Rezound.
Look in the GSM threads, they will tell you.
Flash any sense 4 rom then look up the gsm patch from the GSM thread in the Q&A section, its linked on the first post.
Or you can.just flash the MIUI rom in the dev section, its gsm based and active out of the box.

Or you could check the MIUI thread in the dev section. I think MIUI works out of the box for GSM carriers, except for some data bands.

If you flash MIUI or the SMS fix on a Sense 4 rom, you can get SMS and MMS working on a GSM carrier, but none of the GSM carriers in the united states will get 3G on the Rezound. Including T-Mobile

It's annoying effort sure. I was using joker's cm10 on my Electrify, but needed more stability and battery life so I'm back to cm7 for now.
Even if they would just release drivers to the public...I won't even ask for a full build.

if Moto has no plans to update, let them unlock our phone and get lost.

I'm thinking "Future Plans" means we are skipping ICS entirely for JB - I mean Development already started for The Photon back in the last update. They can't just announce right now that they are doing that for those 2 phones.
If my phone gets JB, I may just **** a house. However, I'm not concerned with wait time cause I'm not due for an upgrade till May.
Also, this will be my last Motorola unless we get a nexus device.
Even then, Motorola and Google are gonna hafta wow me

If we do actually get an update now to anything i will be happy because we can use the drivers to make the roms on here run better but my hope is that they do not cancel everything and do not give us an update at all because i will also definitely think twice before buying another moto phone. I am already on the fence about wanting to get rid of my photon and trying to pick us a nexus because of the timely updates and good developer support. Just waiting to see if motorola really does push me to do it by getting rid of any update for our phone.
I'm hoping that "further plans" means they are doing JB, if they were going to cancel they would have put "Will remain on Gingerbread (Android 2.3)"
I'm been using the AOKP JB Build on my photon and absolutely love it. So I'm not too concerned if there ends up being a JB update or not. Our devs rock. Screw motorola.

Big props to the XDA devs for sure. Unfortunately I'm on a locked bootloader so I can only use a few good roms.
Are you not wanting to unlock the bootloader? I know you lose 4g. But I personally haven't missed it. I've enjoyed the freedom of an unlocked bl.

No I can't unlock it. My phone was on 2.3.5 OTA update when I bought it. So it's never getting unlocked as of right now.
Page updated. Atrix 4G and Photon 4G to remain on Gingerbread.
USA:
Atrix 4G: Will remain on Gingerbread (2.3)
Photon 4G: Will remain on Gingerbread (2.3)
Same for Asia pacific.

Thinking about getting a refurb'd Mopho or swapping for one on like Craigs list or something. I hear that 2.3.5 can be unlocked IF it came from factory that way, but NOT from an OTA update...is there a way to tell which is which? Or is that even true?
TIA.
