Hi, does anyone know if anyone offers a a rooting service in the UK?, like the kind of service where you can send your phones for unlocking etc. I really cant get my noggin round the whole rooting process lol. Thanks in advance for any advice

You can get some one here to do it remotely by accessing your PC cuz alot of it is done on the PC....i never recommend sending your phone off for it because it voids warranty and if they did anything it won't help your cause
if it's unbranded i could do it remotely, or i can give you the YouTube video i used because the evo 3d was the first phone i rooted myself and alot of it is automated instead of typing commands

hi to all evo 3d xda members i just need i little help with my problem,, this is what happen today,, i buy a htc evo 3d brand new in box but when i tried to activate in sprint store they says is bad esn i buy from craigslist ,, and the same time i call people who flash sprint phones to boost and they say they do for 190$ first month free i see a few evos flashed to boost and works good but i dont know if evo 3d works the same or if this people can really do it ,, thanks for the advices in advance
It is possible to do, but it's also illegal. I suspect you wont be getting much advice from these forums.
Maybe search a little in the Evo forums for a guy who used to do it and PM him.
Get your money back for the phone.

You're a victim of Craigslist. Who ever sold it to you must've stole it or something and sold it to you. Get your cash back. Next time call the seller get the hex number then call sprint and check it b4 you buy

there is no getting your money back from craigslists though.

Contrary to popular belief, it isn't illegal. What's illegal is copying somebody else ESN/MEID and stealing their service with it. Copying an ESN/MEID that you already own is not illegal.

Hate to state the obvious, but contact the person you got it from and get your $ back. Tell them that they have 24hrs to contact you before call the local PD. The EVO 3D is well into felony theft levels. Probably not something they'll want to mess with.
Who in their RIGHT mind would buy a phone off of CL w/ out first calling to make sure it can be activated??
Just do what they did put it back on craigslist and sell it to some unsuspecting person. Just kidding don't do that.

Hello,
CL really is the Wild West. Every Phone I have sold, including my EVO 4G, I have urged the interested party to meet me at the Sprint Store and Activate it right then and there. For those who choose Metro PCS (who seem as though the will Activate anything) or Boost, at least they know they can go back to Sprint if they choose.
I am really sorry for both 3VO Buyers getting stolen or somehow misappropriated Phones. It makes it that much harder for legitimate Sellers to get their Phones Sold.

does it have a bad esn cause its been lost or stolen or just shows not clean for activation and attached to someones account? you can check on checkesnfree.com if its been reported lost or stolen PM me i may be albe to help you out.

sprint has blocked the esn on for not fulfilling
their contract is not illegal,and if the truth be told the OP knew this and does not want to be or can not be with sprint and just wants to flash the phone to a cheaper unlimited plan,so if you are going to post in his thread at least try to

That is incorrect. Even if you own the ESN that you want to change it to, it is illegal. That doesn't mean people don't do it, but it's still illegal. Modifying that part of the phone is a federal offense.
ok I know changing/mimic'ing an esn is illegal as per the fcc regulations but do you actually "change" the esn when flashing to another carrier that doesn't use contracts and whatnot? cricket, boost, etc.

Hi thanks for the link, but that's not it, Google videos is where you rent or buy the video,you can watch them on your phone,tablet or even your pc, as I said I know this is all good in the USA ,but please if anyone can confirm this is working now in the UK I would appreciate it.it was supposed to launch October 21st or early November, but I can't see that anyone has it working, when i download the app from the android market it installs, and shows the videos and prices, bit has a message SERVICE NOT AVAILABLE, on every film I go to, it sounds like a great service, but finding out if its available is so hard.If anyone has it and is in the UK,please reply.

Hi guys,
To explain, I need to give a customer a answer,he's blaming the company I work for(not England or usa) that its our fault he can't get Google videos to work,my phone is rooted,and its says videos can't show as i have rooted my phone,so then I use other phones,and get the service is not available, the customer says that its all working in the UK,because the telegraph newspaper did a story on it,I have searched on Google for a couple of hours and can't find any proof it works in the UK,as I'm not in the UK i find it hard to get an answer,I use market enabler,and root my phone,and know what I'm doing,iv been with android since day one,I just can't find anything on UK having Google videos working.
I'm also sorry if people are fed up with this thread(I am too) I was expecting to get 3 replies after 20 mins of me posting this in the thread, with people from the UK saying yes works fine here,etc etc, but all i get is that it was supposed to launch Oct 21st.

Well... The people of this forum have the option to help you, or not to. Don't be a stuck up kid who doesn't do his research and expect everything to be given to him. Why not call your Rogers customer support line? Or google a bit about Rogers Early Hardware Upgrades. Or simply login to your Rogers online account and see the cost of upgrading to a new phone.
I figured this out when I upgraded to me evo 3d by... wait for it.... CALLING ROGERS.
So, in conclusion, it is not us, the helpful members, or the developers or whomever else browses this board that is useless, it is you. Because you clearly don't put in effort.

They probably achieved s-off via jtag.. so it will be a while before devs achieve s-off. Not saying they can't do it.

What exactly is jtag? I'm not a noob but I'm definitely not a dev... I also noticed the bootloader still said locked so I'm assuming they didn't have to use HTC dev first like my EVO LTE(just left sprint for T-Mobile). I'd like to keep from having to register my phone with HTC dev in case of warranty issues

Jtag is a service that can flash motherboards, they can unbrick them, root them, s-off, ect. Its only because they have the files from HTC them selves to do it. I have talked to them before in my HTC inspire 4g days.... Ide love to have an evo, 2nd best phone on the market

Ahh I see, makes sense... Too bad they won't release that to the public... I'll be selling my EVO LTE and nexus s 4g as soon as I clear my sprint account... I would have kept it if sprints data wasn't so horrible...

Ok. So I'm not an experienced flasher, I have rooted one of my phones a long time ago but haven't done anything with my EVO 4g LTE. So my problem is that I couldn't pay my bill... Long story short, I want to flash it to a prepaid account. Is that possible where I think I have a bad ESN? Also does the phone need to be rooted? I have seen a few guides and videos but they don't mention either of my question. Also what would the best service for this phone be, and the easiest way to go about doing it now with no service on it currently.. I would really appreciate any help I have been out of work for a while now and can't afford to have it on Sprint regular service! Thanks anyone in advance who can shed some light on this for me!!!
