Also spotted PDair cases that look okay. Fingers crossed for an Otterbox Commuter - surely with a big enough flap in the silicon it would allow the flaps on the phone to open as well. The Otterbox on my Desire Z is probably the only reason it's still alive and scratch free - it's been bashed into just about everything without a mark on it.
I've ended up modifying my Griffin Smartphone Holder I had originally bought it for my Xperia Arc which was a snug fit. Sadly the S was just too big for it. I ended up unscrewing the back and then taking apart, using some superglue to hold hte two pieces together to allow enough height for the S to fit in. Works perfectly and has a nice minimal design, unlike a lot of holders out there.
Thank you this has reminded me, I kept checking the Brodit website and waiting for the Xperia S to show up, I almost starting looking for generic crappy ones

Wait for them to spread around a bit and you can usually get them at a more reasonable price, often on ebay. They normally end up making one that doesn't need to be hard wired and uses a 12v adapter - these used to be a bit cheaper if I remember.
They are a bit pricey because each one is made to fit the precise phone. There is no comparison though. No universal holder comes even close to the quality of Brodit stuff
Im not quite familiar with side slide in holders
(allthough the abscence of a active holder almost made me skip this phone, so i'm glad there is one available)
But how does this work with the little lid on top of the micro USB? do you have to open it and slide it in the holder? where does the lid go? does it hinge out or is it a slide of some sort?
Or do you have to get rid of the lid? and is this possible without making it a permanent solution?
Just curious before I order mine, especially with draining batteries an active holder in my car takes care of charging 2x a day for 45 mins. And takes care of the main drawback of smartphones.
I am after that. I know it is nothing special, but I had the same for X10 and it is very sturdy. Great for recording videos whilst driving.

From the videos I've seen of the phone it looks like the cover poops open and then can be moved round a little (check youtube). Brodit usually design their powered mounts quite well so there should be enough room for the flap to be out of the way whit the phone in place. It may not look too tidy but it will be functional. If you wait a bit they usually make one that doesn't need to be hard wired into your cars electrics. Or if you know how you could probably fit a 12v adapter on the cable without any issues.
I last had one of these for my HTC Universal and it never moved while in use.

I've used them before for my Nexus S mount and they were excellent so have ordered the above.
EDIT: Just had a call from them to say that these aren't shipping from Brodit until 13th April so they can take orders but they won't be fulfilling them until then. Still, I left the order with them so I get it as soon as they ship
I have never used a brodit mount but I have a couple of questions if any of you are familiar with them.
Would a clear skin interfere with the tolerances of how it slides into the mount?
Do you think the repetitive sliding into the mount put some wear on the surface of the device, or do they have a softer surface in the mount where it would rub?

the brodit holders are designed to fit the device as is so as to provide a firm fit. From what I remember when I last used one they're just plastic but I don't recall mine ever marking or causing wear on the HTC Universal.
If you want to use a silicon skin or a slim hard case (maybe even some of the thicker leather cases) I can recommend the Exogear Exomount which my dad uses for his Desire HD in a Pdair case without any problems.

I really like that charging version of the Brodit but am concerned that the top, bottom and back will see scuffing from the mount. And with the S being a matte finish it will show more.
My Brodit arrived this weekend! Much quicker than I was told so I'm pleased!
It's great as always. My only disappointment is that the back of the top sliding bit covers the top of the camera. Not a problem for most but I like to record journeys. I cut a small notch out with a craft knife though and it's perfect now.
Very nice firm grip and it has two soft materiel pads so sliding the phone doesn't scratch the back, excellent touch.

Yep, like all the Brodits I've had, you can rotate it to horizontal or vertical.
Mine is the active mount and the power plug is very nice. Open the charging flap and rotate it upwards then just slot the phone in.
I just received mine, and that´s true, it is perfect ! ( as usual with Brodit )

Bottom line: I like it. I have a Xoom hard clamshell case and, although it protects the device, it's almost "too hard". This ASUS sleeve is exactly that -- a sleeve. It's light and does what I need it to do -- protect the screen and give me the ability to prop it up.
It is similar to one of the GTAB sleeves, in that the device slips in and there's a fold that you slip between the device and the sleeve to hold it in place. Tiny velcro holds the cover in place, when it's closed (no magnets).
Caveats: No velcro on the back, if you want to hold the item open (easily fixable) and the camera in the back doesn't always fit exactly to the hole - they might have been better off making that hole a little bigger.
I got this at B&H when it was available for about 30 minutes, yesterday.

Looks identical to an opacity case I had. It worked well but I felt it actually had a tendancy to scratch the screen when sliding in and out.

from the pics it looks to me like there is an opening for bottom connector but not for the keyboard dock latches... can you tell us if the Transformer can be docked or is the opening simply to connect the cables for charging etc....

+1 The fit of teh camera is awful. Plus I wish it was leather (real or fake) I don't like the soft velvet-like look. Too bad, It's exactly what I need in a case though. I hope someone make something similar that's leather soon.

It's designed as a standalone - there are not openings for the latches, only the USB / charging port.
Agreed on the camera - it's annoying. It does what I need but at $45 (with shipping) I think it's a bit high. $25 would have been more reasonable.
Think maybe attaching a thin strip of something of something to the inside of that flap that folds under might push it up a teensy bit and allow the camera hole to line up?

Yes, that would probably work. probably some double sided tape would do it.
Nothing like a little DIY......
EDIT: the problem is that the device is not 100% snug with that little flap at the bottom. So it moves just a bit and that obstructs the camera slightly. A little tape or velcro there might actually be the best bet.

Well, the pics were to show you so at least you could make an informed decision. Right now we don't have too many options, unfortunately.
I actually like the design, texture, and benefits of this. The camera hole is minor and not a deal breaker. It looks great closed too.

I've had one of these on backorder through Amazon since launch night, but just jumped ship to NewEgg, since they have stock, and Amazon are still projecting May 11th or later.
I am not terribly worried about the rear camera hole, because frankly, when the case is tilted in "stand / easel" mode or whatever you call it, I'm not very likely to be using the rear camera in the first place. It will be aimed at the table about three feet behind my tablet, after all.
For me, the important thing is that the tablet itself is at least reasonably protected when placed in a bag with other items. The stand functionality might be nice to have occasionally for movie watching in a hotel room, or on an airline tray table if there's room, but beyond that I'm not likely to use the tablet in the case a lot...
My case came in today. While the camera hole is a bit misaligned when propped upright, if you actually run the camera app, it doesn't affect the view. Also, the lower position, the one meant for typing, makes a world of difference for that purpose -- I was able to type faster than normal and didn't make a single typo during my testing (at least none that couldn't be autocorrected).
I don't think the case is worth $40, but I wanted something that would prop it up, and a plain sleeve didn't fit the bill. It actually doesn't look half bad in person, especially when it's closed up. Nice tacky material makes it difficult to lose your grip while toting it around. The material on the flap that covers the charging port when closed is pretty thin, so an adventurous type might be able to cut a hole there, but I think I'll leave it be.
My only real complaint is that when it's in the upright position, it wobbles a bit when you press the screen. It would've benefitted from a more rigid material.
Just got mine in today as well.
It does take away from the device's attractiveness, but overall I like it. The low standing position is fantastic for typing on a normal layout keyboard, just have to switch back and forth between thumb keyboard and Android keyboard when you're using it with and without the stand.
I was able to use it today as an alarm clock, propped up in the high standing position, worked great. It's a little expensive, but the improved functionality is worth it.
My only real problem is that it may have been better if it were backwards. When propped in the high standing position (case is aligned with the camera hole in the back and ports on the side), the charger cable goes to the bottom of the tablet. That means that the tablet's weight will be on the charging cable when standing upright, and I worry that this puts unnecessary pressure on the cord. I've had two many charging cords torn from bad angles to be comfortable with this. Considering putting the case on upside down, because I really don't use the back camera or HDMI/mic ports too often.
When used in the low standing position, the charger cable goes into the end facing away from you, this is OK for me, although the short charger doesn't help things.
Other than that, though, I like it.

You do have to have the cover flap open though, unless you want to cut a hole where the charger port is (which is do-able, but I don't trust my hole-cutting skills).
Is it just me or does the case look really cheap? Maybe the pictures don't do it justice. It looks like something that could be purchased on eBay or dealextreme for $10. I'll wait for those cases

Packaging:
The product was delivered by Fedex, and the package included the desktop charging dock, a USB to micro-USB cable, and a micro-USB to wall travel charger. Seidio sells the Desktop Charging Cradle for $29.95 and the Desktop Charging Cradle Kit for $39.95 online. As far as I can tell, the inclusion of the travel charger is the only difference between the two, so you'll have to decide if the price difference is worth it to you.
The box that holds the dock fits very snugly into the cardboard box, so I'm not worried about movement during shipment. Inside, the dock was wrapped in a soft Styrofoam type bag, which isn't the best type of material for absorbing shock. But again, since there isn't much room for movement, I wouldn't be worried about it.
Nicely packed and straight to the point
Preliminary Feel:
Before putting the product to use, I gave every part a quick check. Everything looked good and the box did not show any sign of damage during shipping.
Charging Dock:
Moving right along, we have the charging cradle from Seidio. It feels nice and solid in the hands. There's a certain heft to it, which is preferable for a desktop dock that isn't supposed to be moving around. Although the dock feels lighter than the Evo 3D, the build quality is excellent, and the rubber feet on the bottom are grippy and prevent it from sliding or moving around.

Attachment Plate:
Seidio made the desktop dock to be compatible with the bare phone as well as a number of their cases. Their website lists the Surface, Surface Extended, Active, and Active Extended cases, and extended life batteries as compatible with the dock. This is achieved through the use of the attachment plate, which is basically a piece of plastic to decrease the space available for use with the bare phone.
You use it if you don't have a case on your phone, and remove it when you do. Simple.
It simply sits in the cradle. Put it in or remove it based on your situation

Surface Case
Here's where I wish Seidio had paid more attention to detail. Using the case with my bare phone and with the attachment plate, everything fit snugly and securely. But using the dock with my Surface case, there was definitely room for movement, as you can see in the picture beneath. I'm guessing this is because they had to make the dock compatible with a variety of cases, but even so, I worry about the potential damage to the micro-USB port over the long term because that is the only point of connection to the dock. But being a desktop product, I don't think most people will move around the dock too much. When seated on the table or night stand, the phone rests securely. So as long as you don't move around your phone a lot while connected to the dock, or fiddle with it, there shouldn't be any problems.
You can see the movement in the above pictures; Only happens when using the Surface case and isn't a big problem if you don't move it around too much.
I didn't test the dock with Seidio's extended battery packs. But according to Seidio, the dock is also compatible with their 3000mah (Amazon only), 3400mah, and 4000mah extended batteries using Seidio's back cover.
Charging Cradle:
As mentioned above, the charging cradle has great build quality and a very solid feel. If I had to nitpick I would say the top is too glossy and attracts fingerprints very easily.

Once you plug the phone into the charging dock, it automatically goes into dock mode. Dock mode works in either horizontal or vertical position, but you'll only be using it in the horizontal position with the desktop dock (duh).
In desktop mode, you get a nice little shrunk down version of HTC's superclock to the right, which shows you the time, location, and the current temperature. On the bottom right corner you have a little area that shows you feeds based on your Friendstream, and the first upcoming event.
I like the live background showing the current weather, but it would be great to have the option of changing it to one of HTC's lock screen variants (like the stock market or something).
On the bottom you have the option of going into photo frame, connected media, and calendar. Photo frame and calendar does exactly what you think it does, so no need to go into details here. Connected media lets you play music and videos you have on the phone, and transfer files when connected to another device.
If you choose to plug the dock into your computer instead of the wall, you get prompted to just charge the device, or mount it as a disk drive. And if you have HTC Sync installed on your PC, it'll sync the content and contacts with your phone.
You can dim the display whenever you like by pressing on the little sun icon on the bottom right corner, and exit the dock mode by pressing the icon on the bottle left. When you want to re-enter desktop mode, you can open the app in your apps drawer.
Conclusion:
Overall I feel that the Seidio charging dock is a solid product. The base is well constructed, and the light up Seidio logo on the back is a nice touch. The base stays put on the desk, thanks to its rubber feet, and when using the attachment plate to dock the bare phone, everything fits snugly. The included travel charger is nice when you don't have a computer or USB-wall adapter handy, and the sync function via HTC Sync is nifty as well (but you don't need the dock for that, just a USB cable).
My only complaint with the product is that fit could've been better when using it w/ the Surface case. As it is now, there is some room for movement while docked. But as long as you don't fiddle with it intentionally or shake it really hard, gravity tends to keep things down (yes really) and keep the phone sitting securely in the dock.
I would've loved for Seidio to have added a speaker to the dock like the various ones they have for iPhones. The speaker on the Evo 3D isn't the greatest, and a speaker on the dock to amplify the alarm in the morning would've been very welcomed.

Yea, I like the dock. I'd go for the $30 one unless you really need a wall-usb cable. But I think you can find one easy for less than that on Amazon.

I have not had the chance to test a MHL adapter yet, since I don't have any MHL devices So I have no idea if it would work w/ this.

I wouldn't count on it, they're from a different company after all. I'd ask Seidio about it before buying.

Hate to dig up such an old thread, but I didn't want to start another one since this one already existed. I just got this dock for Christmas and I have to say that I love it. I have it on my desk at work with 4G on and wifi tether doing its thing. I'm also listening to music with PowerAMP and have it set to sync constantly. I've sent a few text messages as well. The battery isn't dipping at all, even with the screen set to a 2 hour timeout (I like using it as a clock).
If you're on the fence for a dock, this one is really solid. I have to agree with everything that the OP said in his review. It's very nice. And its a great feeling to leave work with a fully charged phone instead of one that's almost dead.
judging by the great photos in the OP, this dock looks like it should work with the Acase Superleggra, does anyone who has this dock think there may be any conflicts between that case and this dock?
I finally found the case I like and now I just need to find the dock that will work with it!
Wish there was a list somewhere that stated compatibility with all the different cases out there.

Can you post the link for the dock?
It's a stand alone kickstand that you attach to the back of your phone. So you retain the looks of your phone without the bulk of a case.
Since the Note 3 is a big phone, I am wondering if the stand can hold the phone in PORTRAIT mode.

Just quoting the bold part and comparing that to the ipad that is being used with the stand. from the picture, the ipad looks like it can stand pretty well considering it's two times larger and heavier than the note 3. I don't see why the note 3 won't be able to withstand the product.

There's picutres in your post with the iPad in portrait mode i think the stand will work just fine the note is a light phone compared to it's size.
It's certainly cheaper than the FlyGrips I usually use. I love that the FlyGrip also doubles as a way to securely hold the device, though and have been saved from dropping my Note due to it many times. It looks about as thin as the FlyGrip - if you get one let us know how durable it is, because even on the integrated kickstands I've used, the thin ones usually end up breaking after awhile.
I just placed an order and the seller (Remote Systems) shipped the item on the same day, according to the USPS tracking number they provided.
EDIT: I finally got it. It's much thicker than I thought. So much so that the works charging no longer work and my iOttie car holder won't automatically clamp the phone.
So now it is a choice of whether you need a kick stand or a wireless charger.

I would be the first to buy something like this but suddenly I've got too many accessories for the phone, and the price+shipping is too high for the product.
So I'm just waiting on some reviews on this.
My plan:
Phone + Glass screen protector (applied) + Kickstand + Plastic bumper.
Why:
I want the phone small as possible. Its more comfy in pocket, on hand, less drops, etc etc.
Plus I love the feeling of that leather*
Its just the ****ty stitching and the crappy lined plastic sides that degrade the phone's sense of luxury.
Quick questions:
How thick is it really?
Is the kickstand as thick as those cases with a kickstand?
Can the kickstand work on the far sides of the back, or does it have to be centered?
And lastly would it be a good idea to put the kickstand over the camera to protect it from scratching?
(obviously a cutout hole on the kickstand for the cam to peep through)

Hi Kangal,
I the kickstand4u add about 0.4 cm to the thickness of the phone, IF you are using the regular back cover. I don't have another camera, so I don't have a picture to show it. If you use a wireless cover, it will add even more, so much so that my iOttie car dock no longer fit.
Additionally, the wireless charging no longer work since I believe the distance is now too far between the back cover and the charging coil. This is at least with my Tylt wireless charger.
I put mine slightly below the center, so closer to the bottom of the phone. This is because the S-Pen is actually sticking out a little bit, causing uneven plane when the phone is at an angle.
All in all, I prefer the kickstand since it allows me to put the phone an angle WITHOUT a). a bulky case and b). a docking station. I can live without the wireless charging, so now I just use the normal back cover. Oh, with the normal back cover and the kickstand4u, the phone still fit with my iOttie car holder.

I'm giving up on my dream of a device with a bumper and a kickstand.
Its simply because the kickstand on its own won't ever be as sturdy as one on a case can be.
Also because the bumpers that I own (five different types) they're either not a good fit, not protective enough (non-shock-absorbing, or exposed corner wtf), or are very thick.
Basically for me, the simple solution is better.
Use a case that's not too bulky and has a kickstand that's decent enough.
I've found these two but have NOT bought OR TRIED them. Anyone tried these cases? What are your thoughts? Any good? Overpriced?

That's a nice looking case.
I need a stand that can do portrait and without adding any bulky case, so the kickstand meet my need. .... For now. [emoji1]
I realize that people have different requirements for a car mount, so this one might not really be THE best, but I think it's the best I've found for me, and maybe others. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has discontinued it, and the replacement is over-engineered and simply not as good. So if you're interested, act fast. Amazon is out of them. I got mine from B&H Photo Video. You may find them elsewhere if you Google for it.

What makes this so good? Three things, basically.
Most important, it holds the phone very security, yet you can both insert and remove the phone from the mount one-handed. Having to use two-hands to insert / remove a phone from a mount always annoys me.
Second, the mount is very, very secure. It simply sticks to what you attach it to. My prior mount had a simple suction cup that wouldn't even stay mounted to clean, smooth glass for more than a week or so. The iOttie mounts use micro-suction gel sticky pad combined with a suction cup. Even without the suction it sticks remarkably well to my very textured dash. With the suction lever in use, it grips like super glue.
Third, even with a relatively heavy G3, and my stiffly suspended car, the phone moves around very little on rough pavement. My last mount vibrated so much I couldn't read it unless I positioned it so it was braced against the instrument pod.
Don't mistake the Easy One-Touch 2 for this mount. The newer version is more complex, and not nearly as solid. The phone vibrates and bounces a lot more. Also don't confuse the Easy Flex mount. While it has one-handed insertion of the phone, you'll need two hands for phone removal. Why iOttie replaced such a great design with inferior ones is a question that boggles the mind.
Also make sure you get the XL version. The standard version doesn't open quite wide enough for the G3, in spite of what the specs say. Mine is on the way back to Amazon for just that reason.
My friend you haven't tried Scosche have you? Once you do all mounts will seem worthless. Basically it's a magnetic mount of amazing quality and very cheap price they sell a lot of car accessories but their mounts are top of the line. Check out a video on their website. Amazing product.

It's nice, but I don't like using cases, and I doubt that metal plate will fit inside the back of our G3s. I also don't want to glue the mount to my dash. I want to be able to move it between vehicles, or even to different locations in the same vehicle.
Like I said, different people are going to have different priorities. The Scosche mount doesn't meet my needs.
Personally I love the Easy Flex Wireless after I got my Qi sticker. It goes in with one hand, I can pull it out with one hand, and I can open the little fingers with one hand afterwards. It would be nice for it to come out as nice as the other dock but I can't complain. [emoji1]

I can't figure out why iOttie didn't give the Qi version same easy-out feature of the one-touch mounts. It would be the perfect mount if they had.

Would I be able to use a case like an otterbox or zerolemon with this mount?
I think it would be fine with the Otterbox. From the photos I've seen of the Zerolemon, the tabs that clamp the phone might not be long enough. But if you'll measure the maximum thickness of the phone with the battery and case installed, I'll see if the tabs are long enough.

Meh. I had an iBolt for my Galaxy S3 and it was garbage. The suction cup would fall off the windshield every couple of weeks (and wouldn't stick at all to the dash). I tried to use the flat plastic plate they supply: Cleaned the dash thoroughly, stuck the adhesive plate on, let it set for a week, then stuck the suction cup to it and put my phone in. The plate fell off the dash 5 minutes later. When stuck to the windshield, the mount flexed and bounced so much the phone kept switching between landscape and portrait, and I couldn't read what it displayed. I had to position it so the phone was braced against the windshield pillar to use it at all. The audio-out feature stopped working after I upgraded to KitKat, and iBolt's tech support was clueless. I'll never touch another iBolt.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I checked, and the tabs that hold the phone aren't long enough to wrap around that case. It might grip the sides of the phone well enough to work, but I have no way to test that.
The metal plate fits just fine in the G3.
So much so, that I have the nfc/qi sticker and the metal plate inside the battery cover. I then have the magnet attached to the dash of my Saab and behind the dash I have a qi charger to wireless charge my phone as soon as I place it on the magnet.
That, to me, is the BEST car mount.

So you're saying you're getting wireless charging THROUGH the magnet / mount that's attached to the dash? That sounds like a miracle, since most !i chargers can only bridge a gap between coils of about 8 - 10mm, and that mount alone looks a lot thicker than that, and has a metal magnet in between the coils.

Let me clarify.
The base magnet sits in the middle of the charging coil, so that the face of the magnet is flush with the coils. This is behind my dash and easily transmits through the 1/4" plastic.
This will be much easier to accomplish once v1.2 coils and receivers start showing up.

I'm looking for a good, windshield mounted holder so I can put my n6 in there portrait. I'm also looking for a charging solution and i'll be looking to transmit audio from the phone via fm to tune the car sound system into it.
I want quality, but budget.
Could anyone recommend me items to do this please ?

My cheap solution is No windshield mount. Always expensive, because the cheap can't hold the N6. I have a neodymium magnet on the dashboard; fixed with double sided glue tape.
For the N6 I have a cheap silicon case; easy to remove/change. On the back there is a metal plate fixed with super glue.
The metal plate must be 1cm below the M-logo, because the magnet sensor is there.
Because the back of the N6 is not flat you need to prepare the plate.

Check eBay here (NL) about 25 euro. Looking your picture, I think you can use a cheap windshield mount at the right side. The N6 in landscape and as low as possible. Because the N6 is rather heavy it should touch the dashboard.
OK I've ordered some things.... I'll link to them once I know they're good in a few weeks.

Hey your driver's seat is on the wrong side.
It's not cheap, but check out pioneer's Android Auto head units. I have the 4100NEX and I'm really digging it so far. Best thing is it all works off an app on your phone and Google will keep improving.

I may check out a new head unit in the future but it's not on the cards for a while yet.. Having never ran a car,.money is going to be tight. Especially with UK fuel prices and 28 mpg

I'm gonna use Tom Tom Go with DailyRoads Voyager dash cam, from a screen mount. Think a tablet would be pushing it for me
i dont know if you care about sound quality or not for music or whatever. fm transmitters are notoriously bad in the sound quality department.
depending on the make of the headunit (stock or aftermarket) many times you can get a cheap cable to interface with a cd changer input which sounds great.
ive also hooked a bluetooth audio adapter (super cheap on ebay) to said aux input cable which also sounded good.

Both paths are just wrong....
The suction cups are just not reliable, especially in a car environment. I find it much easier to live with some some good velcro (fabric store) stuck on the back of the device or bumper case (picture frame shape) mated to a similar outline in a flat spot on the car. (Mine is 'around' the OE radio display - don't need to see it with phone in car, and can see through the frame when using car radio.)
FM transmitters also are not acceptable inside a car environment - you'll hear the engine and the cell phone 'connects' every little bit - notice the OE antenna is outside?. Use the aux input or add one to older OE radio - it's not hard at all (use switching 1/8 jack to interupt and reconnect low level from Radio/Tape/CD to amp internally).
You will also need an isolation transformer for the input when you want to charge the phone while listening.
After farting around with cars for decades, these are the best solutions regardless of price, and just happen the to be the cheapest anyway.

I'm aware of the pitfalls of fm transmitting. Using an auxiliary input on the current head unit is not an option and even if it were,.it wouldn't do everything the transmitter does. I'll get a new unit perhaps when I can afford it, but for now,.fm is the best option for me.
As for suction cups, I completely disagree. Suction cups are used in the glass industry for installing large panels of glass. If you buy one rated well enough to do the job, it will easily do the job. The one I have bought is designed specifically for the nexus 6 and all the reviews say it's not going anywhere, so im happy with my choice.
Also, i.live in the UK where we must use our.vents

How you doing? Always a pleasure to see you around. I was confused at first, but then figured it out.
I know you already bought some stuff, but, in case they don't work out or if you just want another alternative, this is a stand that I got on a trip last weekend. It's really low tech, and not too pretty, but, if you don't mind function over form or whatever, it's pretty darn good. And, as you can see, it works in the house too.
I've tried a bunch of different mounts over the years and had various problems. The suction cup windshield ones fell off, the vent mounts vibrated too much, and the supposedly hyper-sticky suction cup kind for the dash weren't quite sticky enough. This thing worked out great on the other hand. The brand is Bracketron.
Congrats on the license and the car, man. I won't ask what took you so long. Although I guess you could be 17, but I highly doubt it. If you want to hear something scary, I've had my driver's license for 38 years.

That looks like a good option. I'm guessing it does landscape too? I thought I wanted portrait, but I'm going to run a dash cam app too, so landscape will probably be better.
You're right, I'm not 17, I'm 35. I've been car mad all my life. Some of my first words were naming cars parked on the street. I started lessons at 17 but left home and all my money went on surviving. I took my test when I was 21 but failed. I guess I was afraid of further failure. I moved to the city where driving wasn't really important. But now it is again and I'm fired up for it.
Funnily enough, the missus said I could get a new mountain bike if I passed and it kind of fired me up. Though I'm not getting one. My Dad has given me his v6 coupe that he can't afford to run. I can't either but I'm going to have a good go
