It's a stand alone kickstand that you attach to the back of your phone. So you retain the looks of your phone without the bulk of a case.
Since the Note 3 is a big phone, I am wondering if the stand can hold the phone in PORTRAIT mode.

It looks like it'll work, but the note 3 is taller and heavier than most phone, so I need to check with those who have it.

Just quoting the bold part and comparing that to the ipad that is being used with the stand. from the picture, the ipad looks like it can stand pretty well considering it's two times larger and heavier than the note 3. I don't see why the note 3 won't be able to withstand the product.

I meant in portrait mode.
The picture show most phones (and tablets) in landscape mode, but I like portrait mode.

There's picutres in your post with the iPad in portrait mode i think the stand will work just fine the note is a light phone compared to it's size.
It's certainly cheaper than the FlyGrips I usually use. I love that the FlyGrip also doubles as a way to securely hold the device, though and have been saved from dropping my Note due to it many times. It looks about as thin as the FlyGrip - if you get one let us know how durable it is, because even on the integrated kickstands I've used, the thin ones usually end up breaking after awhile.
I just placed an order and the seller (Remote Systems) shipped the item on the same day, according to the USPS tracking number they provided.
EDIT: I finally got it. It's much thicker than I thought. So much so that the works charging no longer work and my iOttie car holder won't automatically clamp the phone.
So now it is a choice of whether you need a kick stand or a wireless charger.

Thanks for taking the plunge!
I would be the first to buy something like this but suddenly I've got too many accessories for the phone, and the price+shipping is too high for the product.
So I'm just waiting on some reviews on this.
My plan:
Phone + Glass screen protector (applied) + Kickstand + Plastic bumper.
Why:
I want the phone small as possible. Its more comfy in pocket, on hand, less drops, etc etc.
Plus I love the feeling of that leather*
Its just the ****ty stitching and the crappy lined plastic sides that degrade the phone's sense of luxury.
Quick questions:
How thick is it really?
Is the kickstand as thick as those cases with a kickstand?
Can the kickstand work on the far sides of the back, or does it have to be centered?
And lastly would it be a good idea to put the kickstand over the camera to protect it from scratching?
(obviously a cutout hole on the kickstand for the cam to peep through)
...
...
Cheers!

Hi Kangal,
I the kickstand4u add about 0.4 cm to the thickness of the phone, IF you are using the regular back cover. I don't have another camera, so I don't have a picture to show it. If you use a wireless cover, it will add even more, so much so that my iOttie car dock no longer fit.
Additionally, the wireless charging no longer work since I believe the distance is now too far between the back cover and the charging coil. This is at least with my Tylt wireless charger.
I put mine slightly below the center, so closer to the bottom of the phone. This is because the S-Pen is actually sticking out a little bit, causing uneven plane when the phone is at an angle.
All in all, I prefer the kickstand since it allows me to put the phone an angle WITHOUT a). a bulky case and b). a docking station. I can live without the wireless charging, so now I just use the normal back cover. Oh, with the normal back cover and the kickstand4u, the phone still fit with my iOttie car holder.
Hope this helps!

I'm giving up on my dream of a device with a bumper and a kickstand.
Its simply because the kickstand on its own won't ever be as sturdy as one on a case can be.
Also because the bumpers that I own (five different types) they're either not a good fit, not protective enough (non-shock-absorbing, or exposed corner wtf), or are very thick.
Basically for me, the simple solution is better.
Use a case that's not too bulky and has a kickstand that's decent enough.
I've found these two but have NOT bought OR TRIED them. Anyone tried these cases? What are your thoughts? Any good? Overpriced?

2)http://www.ebay.com/itm/Seidio-Sams...t=US_Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&hash=item35d7d38669
Out of the cases I do have tried, there's these ones:
3) I've got this one too, its atrocious, 4/10:

4) There's also this one. Not too good again, I'd rate it 4/10:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/For-Samsung...Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&var=&hash=item43ca7a4b60
5) But I also have this (on OG NOTE, NOTE 2, NOTE 3). Good, but room for improvement, rating 6/10:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Black-S-...lePhoneAccessories&hash=item1c39264889&_uhb=1
6) The current solution I use is this, its very good, rating 8/10:

See my thoughts on it here:

7) Currently buying this, we'll see how good it is. Is it better than the daily-driver, Matte Black chubby case (??):

That's a nice looking case.
I need a stand that can do portrait and without adding any bulky case, so the kickstand meet my need. .... For now. [emoji1]

Bottom line: I like it. I have a Xoom hard clamshell case and, although it protects the device, it's almost "too hard". This ASUS sleeve is exactly that -- a sleeve. It's light and does what I need it to do -- protect the screen and give me the ability to prop it up.
It is similar to one of the GTAB sleeves, in that the device slips in and there's a fold that you slip between the device and the sleeve to hold it in place. Tiny velcro holds the cover in place, when it's closed (no magnets).
Caveats: No velcro on the back, if you want to hold the item open (easily fixable) and the camera in the back doesn't always fit exactly to the hole - they might have been better off making that hole a little bigger.
I got this at B&H when it was available for about 30 minutes, yesterday.

Looks identical to an opacity case I had. It worked well but I felt it actually had a tendancy to scratch the screen when sliding in and out.

from the pics it looks to me like there is an opening for bottom connector but not for the keyboard dock latches... can you tell us if the Transformer can be docked or is the opening simply to connect the cables for charging etc....
thanks, FredPlex
The opening and fit of the camera really bothers me but thanks for the review though.
+1 The fit of teh camera is awful. Plus I wish it was leather (real or fake) I don't like the soft velvet-like look. Too bad, It's exactly what I need in a case though. I hope someone make something similar that's leather soon.

It's designed as a standalone - there are not openings for the latches, only the USB / charging port.
Agreed on the camera - it's annoying. It does what I need but at $45 (with shipping) I think it's a bit high. $25 would have been more reasonable.
Think maybe attaching a thin strip of something of something to the inside of that flap that folds under might push it up a teensy bit and allow the camera hole to line up?
I cancelled my order after reading this thread. Thanks for the review & pictures.

Yes, that would probably work. probably some double sided tape would do it.
Nothing like a little DIY......
EDIT: the problem is that the device is not 100% snug with that little flap at the bottom. So it moves just a bit and that obstructs the camera slightly. A little tape or velcro there might actually be the best bet.

I think most cases do that.
Well, the pics were to show you so at least you could make an informed decision. Right now we don't have too many options, unfortunately.
I actually like the design, texture, and benefits of this. The camera hole is minor and not a deal breaker. It looks great closed too.
Just picked up the sleeve and Wintek 16gb class 10 sdhc card from Newegg for $57.99 and free shipping with new member coupon NEWGEEK10 for $10 off $50! Exp. April 29th!

I've had one of these on backorder through Amazon since launch night, but just jumped ship to NewEgg, since they have stock, and Amazon are still projecting May 11th or later.
I am not terribly worried about the rear camera hole, because frankly, when the case is tilted in "stand / easel" mode or whatever you call it, I'm not very likely to be using the rear camera in the first place. It will be aimed at the table about three feet behind my tablet, after all.
For me, the important thing is that the tablet itself is at least reasonably protected when placed in a bag with other items. The stand functionality might be nice to have occasionally for movie watching in a hotel room, or on an airline tray table if there's room, but beyond that I'm not likely to use the tablet in the case a lot...
My case came in today. While the camera hole is a bit misaligned when propped upright, if you actually run the camera app, it doesn't affect the view. Also, the lower position, the one meant for typing, makes a world of difference for that purpose -- I was able to type faster than normal and didn't make a single typo during my testing (at least none that couldn't be autocorrected).
I don't think the case is worth $40, but I wanted something that would prop it up, and a plain sleeve didn't fit the bill. It actually doesn't look half bad in person, especially when it's closed up. Nice tacky material makes it difficult to lose your grip while toting it around. The material on the flap that covers the charging port when closed is pretty thin, so an adventurous type might be able to cut a hole there, but I think I'll leave it be.
My only real complaint is that when it's in the upright position, it wobbles a bit when you press the screen. It would've benefitted from a more rigid material.
Just got mine in today as well.
It does take away from the device's attractiveness, but overall I like it. The low standing position is fantastic for typing on a normal layout keyboard, just have to switch back and forth between thumb keyboard and Android keyboard when you're using it with and without the stand.
I was able to use it today as an alarm clock, propped up in the high standing position, worked great. It's a little expensive, but the improved functionality is worth it.
My only real problem is that it may have been better if it were backwards. When propped in the high standing position (case is aligned with the camera hole in the back and ports on the side), the charger cable goes to the bottom of the tablet. That means that the tablet's weight will be on the charging cable when standing upright, and I worry that this puts unnecessary pressure on the cord. I've had two many charging cords torn from bad angles to be comfortable with this. Considering putting the case on upside down, because I really don't use the back camera or HDMI/mic ports too often.
When used in the low standing position, the charger cable goes into the end facing away from you, this is OK for me, although the short charger doesn't help things.
Other than that, though, I like it.
Do you have access to the charging port to plug it in without having to remove it?
Yes, there is a cutout for the charger, as well as for hdmi and mic ports, camera, and power and volume.

You do have to have the cover flap open though, unless you want to cut a hole where the charger port is (which is do-able, but I don't trust my hole-cutting skills).
Is it just me or does the case look really cheap? Maybe the pictures don't do it justice. It looks like something that could be purchased on eBay or dealextreme for $10. I'll wait for those cases
Hi All,
I received both the CaseCrown Bold Standby Case & CaseCrown NetBook Case this week as was pretty impressed by both so I figured it was worth it's own thread. I'm also posting a bunch of pictures here in the OP so people can see what they look like in use.
CaseCrown Bold Standby Case
Amazon Link
The Bold is pretty much everything you would expect. The case is relatively rigid and the Transformer fits in it perfectly. Very clean, tight and professional. The tablet definitely feels protected. Although, obviously, like any case of this type you don't want to drop it as there is no real shock absorption.
The tablet slides in the bottom and then you tuck the flap in. The flap has a velcro connection on the inside so that it will not slip. There is no way this tablet would come out of the case accidentally except for intentional abuse.
The magnetic closure is good. You could argue that it "could" be a stronger magnet except I think it is perfectly fine. It will not come open accidentally under normal use.
The material is good although I'm not sure whether it is real leather or not. Doesn't really matter because I think it looks fine either way. Material looks professional. The only annoyance is that the shipper shipped my unit in just a bubble mailer so there are a couple "dents" on the front (see last pic). Hopefully these will go back to normal after some time.
The case basically has 4 orientations total: closed, book (cover folded flat back), vertical landscape and horizontal landscape (keyboard position). This isn't quite the level of "adjustability" you get with the multi-angle cases but I thought that was fine. Even when I was holding my tablet by itself, these were the main angles I used anyway. The main gap in the design is a lack of a 45 degree angle but I didn't need it and knew that when I purchased this. I also love that you can fold the cover flat back like a book for reading.
There are holes for all ports including the front and back camera as well as the light sensor and microSD. No issues here. The back camera hole doesn't appear to block the camera lens like some other cases I've seen. I actually would have preferred if the microSD was covered so that I couldn't accidentally eject it but I know most people prefer this to be open.
Overall, an excellent case. I highly recommend it.

CaseCrown NetBook Case
Amazon Link
The NetBook Case is currently only $7 shipped and fulfilled by Amazon. Fortunately I still have my Prime membership so buying this was pretty much a no brainer. This case works EXCELLENTLY as your only case. It fits the tablet by itself to a T. It feels snug and protected in this case. The only downside is that the straps are made for a netbook so it isn't totally secure if you are holding the tablet in it with the case open. It works "okay" like this if you are just watching media though (I did it the other day). I don't have a dock but I'm pretty sure a dock will fit. There is a bit more room and this case is made for a netbook afterall.
The material on this case is very good and I really like the padding. It looks pretty professional although due to the size it could easily be mistaken for a "man bag".
The Transformer does fit in this case while it is ALSO in the Bold. However, it is a pretty tight fit and I worry that the edges of the Bold will curl from how tight it is. Due to this, I am strongly considering returning the NetBook case now that I have the Bold.
Overall, this is a great "everyday" carrying case. Only issues are that you could NOT fit the charger in there (I bought it knowing that and only use this for single day trips) and it will not properly accommodate the tablet if you have a case on it.
Nice - thanks for the long review.
I think I will wait for the TechTree review before I decide.
Goddam, why there is no Clip-in system cases yet? I'll never buy a case with such a bezel !
thanks bro for sharing i went and bought on since i cant find one in the wild... protecting my baby Transformer ..cant wait for it
I received my CaseCrown case yesterday. I am really impressed with the quality. It looks and feels very professional.
Some of the cases I have seen on ebay had uneven stitching. Maybe they were sown by hand. Here are a few shots I took to give you guys a closer look.
Let me know if you have any questions about the case. I have gotten so much from these forums; I want to give a little back.
Got mine last night. IN the "up to watch" mode its quite stable. IN the typing mode its a bit floppy and the bottom can come loose if you move it around a bit but given the cost it gets me what I want. I really just wanted the up to watch mode.
Excellent pics, really shows how good the case is with the flap folded all the way back, can't see any over hang. Looks less bulky but solid. Can't wait until they send mine but I am in Canada and we just had a postal strike.
How's the additional weight does this case add on?

Yeah I would have loved something like the Otterbox that didn't cover as much of the bezel. Not too much of an issue though.

It does add noticeable weight. Fortunately I have been holding it less now that I have the case.

I don't have the CaseCrown but i do have the rooCase multiangle. Fit is fine, cutouts line up. The 5 or 6 extra dollars that the rooCase costs buys you the multiangle feature plus real leather. The downside is it probably weighs more than the CaseCrown.

Just got at Zerolemon Galaxy Note 3 10000mAh Battery and the Rugged case included. \
Link to product: http://zerolemon.com/product/zerole...fc-zeroshock-shockproofdustproof-rugged-case/
Tons of pics below. Please scroll down and give me a thanks!
UPDATE DEC 2 2013: GPS results - Damn Amazing see below
Simply put this is this greatest thing since sliced bread! The whole package is solid and feels super sturdy. I saw on their Facebook Page that other zerolemon rugged cases are too slippery but they added a rougher texture in this time.
Let’s talk about….. Packaging
It comes with:
1) The 10000mAh Battery (of course)
2) The Rugged Case
3) A Holster that serves as a kickstand for your video needs
4) A backplate
5) An Introductory Card
6) An Instruction Manual
All in a neat aluminum foil bag that came along with it.
Let’s talk about…… Size
This as expected is pretty big no doubt at 155x88x19.2mm. The total weight of phone + case + battery is at 340g which can be hefty for some people but ok for me. I prefer to hold something more sturdy.
Let’s talk about…… Battery Performance
The performance on this battery is absolutely mindblowing. This is my first zerolemon and definitely won’t be the last one.
I put the battery into a loop test with mx player cycling a 1080p clip at 30% brightness just for kicks and the phone literally went on for 2 DAYS without stopping. Here are some results to show the prowess of this battery pack.
Anyways, I’m bringing this up for a drive from Florida to Missouri so let’s see how this goes. I’ll post more practical real use stats once I get more out of this battery
I tried using the NFC on my friend’s Galaxy S4 phone and works perfectly. Just a slight tap on the back of the phone
Let’s talk about…… Case
The case is a hard plastic + soft shell design case. The type that you see typically Otterbox’s making. Not only zerolemon is good at making battery but they are damn good in making cases too. The rugged case on first sight feels very sturdy without the armor styling that you see with other brands like ballistics. It looks very subtle but definitely can tell it will take some major impact if necessary. The case side has dotted pattern for easier grip and makes it very hard to slide off your hands.
The case jack covers are securely in place and buttons are easy to press (get that nice feedback). All the microphone and speaker holes are well aligned.
The case also comes with a screen protector which you can easily take off if need to. I kept mine on and it does a pretty decent job.
Since this is a rugged case, it is built to drop (especially necessary when you have a 340g phone). The case’s corner are raised which helps impact absorption. I haven’t drop my phone yet (pray that won’t happen) but if ever did, this case will definitely save its behind if it ever happens.
Installation was a breeze with the instruction manual. Just need to take off the soft shell first then the hard plastic, then slip the phone inside and shut the PC. Slip the battery at the back and the soft shell then you are ready to go.
It also comes with a backplate for those regular batteries. Quite a nice touch for times I don’t need to carry at 10000mAh battery but still want the rugged protection. It’s also easier to access the microSD and sim card slot now with the backplate easily remove after you take out the soft shell
Camera and flash still works like a charm. The case hasn’t affect these functions at all.
Let’s talk about…… Holster
OK. I know some people may think why they add a holster (so 1990s) but in fact it is more useful than I originally thought it will be
It acts both a holster and as a kickstand. There are different standing angle that makes the phone easy to have various angles.
I don’t use a belt so the belt clip function serves differently for me. I hook this holster up to my messenger bag strap and it fits perfectly! The phone can be inserted to the holster with screen facing inside. That protects it from external damage to screen.
Let’s talk about…… Price
I got this for $59.99 on Amazon. I compared around other solution and there’s no brand that has this extended battery + rugged case combo. It also cost as much as an Otterbox (which is also 59.99 on Amazon) which makes me think this is an absolutely great deal when you get a battery with a rugged case just as, if not, better than Otterbox’s. Mugen has a Note 3 battery for 98.50 dollars with 60% of the capacity which is a total ripoff compare to this set.
Conclusion: 9 /10
The whole package feels so solid it’s quite incredible how low of a price it is asking for that is almost unbelievable. Adding up a Mugen with otterbox will end up to be around 160 dollars plus needing to dremel the otterbox case to make the mugen battery fit (which is also smaller capacity).
The Battery is definitely unbelievable as results shows and the case is just top notch. The only thing I don’t like so much is the weight but if you have so much good stuff in one package, guess it has to go somewhere
Really good stuff Zerolemon!

Astonishing Battery Life
GPS results:
I'm using Google Map for a roadtrip from East Coast to West. Barely any stops in between and phone act as our GPS unit.
The results are truly increditble. At 30% brightness we lass through 1 day and 18 hours of GPS. That's just insanely long. I took this at 12% battery left. It can surely go on for much longer!
This could very well be the world's longest lasting battery for any smartphone!
Wow. Amazing job. Thanks

Holy crap haha, ordering, i was waiting for a review like this! Thank you!
Can the plastic clear screen be removed or is it part of the case?
Edit: I was soo excited seeing the pics, I didn't even read your review. My bad! Yes, the plastic screen can be removed.
Amazing review! I am also wondering can the screen protector be removed? Or can I use it in conjoin with another screen protector already on my phone?
THANK YOU!!!!!
Just ordered!! Great reviews and pics!!!!!:good:
Many thanks to you ServerBob! Great review
I only miss a picture of the Note 3 + Rugged case compared to a normal note 3
Can't wait to get mine
Could you keep us up to date. I heard the case discolors after a while, and attracts a lot of dirt into corners

Tons of pics below. Please scroll down and give me a thanks!
Simply put this is this greatest thing since sliced bread! The whole package is solid and feels super sturdy. I saw on their Facebook Page that other zerolemon rugged cases are too slippery but they added a rougher texture in this time.
Let’s talk about….. Packaging
It comes with:
1)The 10000mAh Battery (of course)
2)The Rugged Case
3)A Holster that serves as a kickstand for your video needs
4)A backplate
5)An Introductory Card
6)An Instruction Manual
All in a neat aluminum foil bag that came along with it.
Let’s talk about…… Size
This as expected is pretty big no doubt at 155x88x19.2mm. The total weight of phone + case + battery is at 340g which can be hefty for some people but ok for me. I prefer to hold something more sturdy.

I realize that people have different requirements for a car mount, so this one might not really be THE best, but I think it's the best I've found for me, and maybe others. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has discontinued it, and the replacement is over-engineered and simply not as good. So if you're interested, act fast. Amazon is out of them. I got mine from B&H Photo Video. You may find them elsewhere if you Google for it.

What makes this so good? Three things, basically.
Most important, it holds the phone very security, yet you can both insert and remove the phone from the mount one-handed. Having to use two-hands to insert / remove a phone from a mount always annoys me.
Second, the mount is very, very secure. It simply sticks to what you attach it to. My prior mount had a simple suction cup that wouldn't even stay mounted to clean, smooth glass for more than a week or so. The iOttie mounts use micro-suction gel sticky pad combined with a suction cup. Even without the suction it sticks remarkably well to my very textured dash. With the suction lever in use, it grips like super glue.
Third, even with a relatively heavy G3, and my stiffly suspended car, the phone moves around very little on rough pavement. My last mount vibrated so much I couldn't read it unless I positioned it so it was braced against the instrument pod.
Don't mistake the Easy One-Touch 2 for this mount. The newer version is more complex, and not nearly as solid. The phone vibrates and bounces a lot more. Also don't confuse the Easy Flex mount. While it has one-handed insertion of the phone, you'll need two hands for phone removal. Why iOttie replaced such a great design with inferior ones is a question that boggles the mind.
Also make sure you get the XL version. The standard version doesn't open quite wide enough for the G3, in spite of what the specs say. Mine is on the way back to Amazon for just that reason.
My friend you haven't tried Scosche have you? Once you do all mounts will seem worthless. Basically it's a magnetic mount of amazing quality and very cheap price they sell a lot of car accessories but their mounts are top of the line. Check out a video on their website. Amazing product.

It's nice, but I don't like using cases, and I doubt that metal plate will fit inside the back of our G3s. I also don't want to glue the mount to my dash. I want to be able to move it between vehicles, or even to different locations in the same vehicle.
Like I said, different people are going to have different priorities. The Scosche mount doesn't meet my needs.
Personally I love the Easy Flex Wireless after I got my Qi sticker. It goes in with one hand, I can pull it out with one hand, and I can open the little fingers with one hand afterwards. It would be nice for it to come out as nice as the other dock but I can't complain. [emoji1]

I can't figure out why iOttie didn't give the Qi version same easy-out feature of the one-touch mounts. It would be the perfect mount if they had.

Would I be able to use a case like an otterbox or zerolemon with this mount?
I think it would be fine with the Otterbox. From the photos I've seen of the Zerolemon, the tabs that clamp the phone might not be long enough. But if you'll measure the maximum thickness of the phone with the battery and case installed, I'll see if the tabs are long enough.
@meyerweb
Zerolemon - Case Dimension:6.14×3.39×0.79 inch
Edit: For some reason those don't seem right to me. I got those dimensions straight from the Zerolemon website though.
Will check the mount tomorrow (Sunday) and let you know.

Meh. I had an iBolt for my Galaxy S3 and it was garbage. The suction cup would fall off the windshield every couple of weeks (and wouldn't stick at all to the dash). I tried to use the flat plastic plate they supply: Cleaned the dash thoroughly, stuck the adhesive plate on, let it set for a week, then stuck the suction cup to it and put my phone in. The plate fell off the dash 5 minutes later. When stuck to the windshield, the mount flexed and bounced so much the phone kept switching between landscape and portrait, and I couldn't read what it displayed. I had to position it so the phone was braced against the windshield pillar to use it at all. The audio-out feature stopped working after I upgraded to KitKat, and iBolt's tech support was clueless. I'll never touch another iBolt.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I checked, and the tabs that hold the phone aren't long enough to wrap around that case. It might grip the sides of the phone well enough to work, but I have no way to test that.
The metal plate fits just fine in the G3.
So much so, that I have the nfc/qi sticker and the metal plate inside the battery cover. I then have the magnet attached to the dash of my Saab and behind the dash I have a qi charger to wireless charge my phone as soon as I place it on the magnet.
That, to me, is the BEST car mount.

So you're saying you're getting wireless charging THROUGH the magnet / mount that's attached to the dash? That sounds like a miracle, since most !i chargers can only bridge a gap between coils of about 8 - 10mm, and that mount alone looks a lot thicker than that, and has a metal magnet in between the coils.

Let me clarify.
The base magnet sits in the middle of the charging coil, so that the face of the magnet is flush with the coils. This is behind my dash and easily transmits through the 1/4" plastic.
This will be much easier to accomplish once v1.2 coils and receivers start showing up.

Lets have a looky
I have the iottie xl and it's very good
i got one of these and its nice. ive learned though not to leave it on my dash for a week, takes ALOT of work to get it off.
I am a huge fan of instant charging my phones. I swap batteries to make my phone essentially charge in 10 seconds. What I never liked about this is I could never use a case. I really don't want to fool around with removing a case, just to replace the battery. Pretty excited about this phone, but so far I have not been able to find a good case that allows for module swapping without having to take the entire case off and put it back on every time I swap. So far I am only interested in the battery module / default.
So what gives? Are there any cases that allow you to keep the case on and swap the battery? If not... sure would be nice. Also, the camera module... are there any cases that support the use of that module?
Seems strange to me that these things have not been considered yet for cases.
get a skin instead...
less protection, but less hassle
no doubt, manufacturers like zerolemon will make an extended battery with built-in case.
I don't think there's a market for a (normal-sized) battery with built-in case. If you look at how the bottom is removed, it's very hard to design a case that doesn't cover the bottom. maybe just a bumper case?

I don't know, a 2 part case seems like the obvious way to go about it. Could even make it interlock on the exterior to squash that 'gap between module and phone' issue.
I just have a cheap TPU case that I got off amazon..., however I can pop the bottom of the phone out to allow access to change the battery and just snap the bottom of the case back on the phone.

2 -part.... when you drop the phone, more chance of the case absorbing initial impact, break into two and fly away, and phone gets hurt after
maybe someone will make it for the lg g5.... not useful for other phones (where you remove the back to gain access to the battery)

Even with a 2 part case, the modules are different fits and sizes so I don't think any case would work... unless LG comes up with some slick idea. I don't think the Camera module would work with a case since it fits tight against the back of the phone and the audio module is a bit bigger than the default bottom.

I was aware that given designs of modules no single case would work for all modules. But, it is possible to have a case designed to fit a few. Would probably require multiple module cases 1 for each module along with a case that has break away backs to accommodate things like the camera mod. I only really care about the default module though, so I would be fine with that to start.
I am kind of taken back by this. I figure either I am the rare bird who utilizes the removable battery in a way that is rare (10 second recharge time - every time - never plug my phone in), or making a phone case is a much more difficult thing than I would imagine it to be. Either way or otherwise, guess I will just wait for a bit and check around later.

I simply do not agree. Are you saying a random company could make a case that falls apart? I agree! But an honest effort at making a 2 part case should result in a case that does not fall apart when dropped from reasonable distances.
I have had a good few Spigen cases for other phones and they have all been good quality. Ive just orded this. Spigen style armour.

Yay, I just found this case and came here to post about it. By far the best case for this phone so long as it protects well. 2 part case - hard to develop and design? Nope. I will be looking at reviews for this over the next couple of weeks to see how it goes. Fired up now. Next step is a modular case that is similar but has a break away for the camera module .

I have that Spigen case as well. It's not as thick/protective as other Spigen cases I've used, but I do love the modularity.
PLEASE NOTE that you need to be careful with this one if you have a screen protector. It's a very tight slide-on case, which sheared my screen protector off. So you need a little bit of margin on your screen protector for this case. I have seen a few screen protectors that advertise as "case friendly" which might be better with this one.

I haven't actually used me style armor yet , just sitting in my draw, it ok for me, I've never dropped a phone before apart from a flip non android, and that is like 9 years ago.
The thickness is ok for me, never liked those extra thick ones like UAG etc.
I also have a few more cases coming in which are made to accommodate the hifi modular adapter and a few extra hifi modular cover. and looking at the design, those hifi modular cover might even support the style armor case.
also purchased this morning another case that supports the hifi modular adding to my previous cam plus TPU case, I have a few cases that I might not even have a chance to use them all.
I have posted some photos in the case thread.
I also have a few screen protector coming in but not tried them yet.
I was shopping around for another LG G5 for my wife, and I found what looks to be the second case that allows for modular battery swapping while the case is on. http://www.toastmade.com/products/lg-g5.html
I have not found any reviews for this yet, unfortunately.
Edit: I spoke a little too soon. I do like this case, but it is not a case. It is more like a wrap, or cover.
