Hi,
Hope someone can help. My Hp TouchPad with webOS 3.0.4 has a problem with Wifi connection. The wireless networks at college is recognised and is connected when I try. My problem is that when I bring up an internet page it gives me an error message that says"No Internet Connection".I have a number of other devices connected to my college wifi and they are all fine.
Hope someone can help.

Take a look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494458
I assume you are running CM9? I flashed the firmware update that can be found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...3&postcount=61) and I haven't any any trouble since.
Different partches available
its been observed if repeated chaches wipes dont work.. then try restarting the touchpad helps. also sometimes "forget"your existing wifi connection and re-enter the password. Also there are plenty of patches released by each of the different versions of touchpad. without knowing your version its hard to focus on the solution. please specify the version you have flashed your tp.
Hope it helps
wipe and reinstall
I had this issue. When connected to 2.4GHz networks for the first time, it works fine untill either the wifi radio is turned off/on again it does not connect. I would have to forget the network. turn off the wifi. turn on wifi. it would then recognize all networks, including 5Ghz, and then I can connect to the 2.4GHz networks again by entering the password. This happens when I reboot my HP Touchpad as well.
One simple fix, surprisingly, is not on the HP Touchpad itself. It is on your home wireless router. I changed my router's broadcast radio channel from 11 to 1. Issue resolved. Try changing your router radio channel to something different from what it is now.
If that does not work, then leave it at the new channel. backup everything and wipe/restore. I enabled the google account backup. after a restore, it downloaded all my apps automagically. My saved games were not saved however, so make a NANDROID if you're OCD about your saved games. My pictures were still on there tho.
download the latest KANG nightly build into a folder such as CMINSTALL when you initially installed CM9. reboot to clockwork mod and do a factory restore. under advance menu, wipe the dalvik cache and all cache. reinstall the KANG nightly build you downloaded and start fresh. the unit should automagically download all your apps. make sure you enable non-market app installations if you have non-mark apps installed. AKA from unkown sources.

My legend's WIFI didn't work suddenly....

Hi, can you indicate what ROM you're using?
on b 0.8.4 there is a patch needed for some phones. (just look in second post of the thread.
If you changed your ROM: do a wipe and cache clear (Backup before!)

I am using CM7, it works fine before, and I haven't update until I get this problem. So I update the rom from nightly to stable one. But the problem still exist
What can I do to fix it??

Me and a few others had the same problem - try rebooting your router.
finally fixed, I wipe all the data and cache, then re-flash the CM7.
you guys can try~~
maybe it should have been enough only to delete and re-establish the WIFI connection. I had the same issue when I added a another WiFI connection. After deleting all my connection points via the CM settings there was no problem anymore.
So, just if it happens again

i have a threat sbout wifi issues on my legend cm7. But im trying to resolve. i didn´t know about that tip on cm settings.
yesterday i connect to a network, todsy i didn´t see again. but i did clean install... but really it isn´t working 100% my wifi.
I like cm7, gps is good now, but wifi is buged.
Edit: where is the option to delete wifi connections?
Settings - Wireless and network - Wi-Fi Settings - Long press on SSID name and select "Forget network"
Then get in range and reconfigure your wi-fi connection.
maybe also changing the range of wifi channels may help (settings/networks/wifi-settings - then menü button - advanced/ domain) of course only with active wifi working.
I have installed Cyanogenmod 7.1.0.1, available at the cyanogenmod repos. Everything seems to be quite functional but i can't get wifi to work. Turning it on will just make the system try and then fail silently, as if i opted to turn the wifi back off.
I also noticed that in the wifi advanced menu, i see "unavailable" in both MAC address and IP address. Is the module being loaded?
I then tried FXP043 release thinking that maybe the wlan module was not available in the CM image. The outcome was the same.
Please advise.
Regards.
SOLVED
To answer myself, and for the record.
After wipping data/reset factory and clearing cache I reinstalled update.zip.
I believe the problem was caused by a wlan config restore from titanium backup.
everything works now.
Hi all, I've got a bit of a problem. After finally managing to root, hack bootloader and install MiniCM7(latest) I installed Barnacle Wifi tether and it was all working fine. Now, I don't remember exactly why now but while using root explorer I cleared the Dalvik cache in /cache and /data. After doing that and going back to the menu every app I had open started throwing up errors which was to be expected as i'd just deleted all the settings or whatever for them. anyway, I tried to reboot my system and it failed to boot so I had to re-install through CWM.
Ever since then i've not been able to get barnacle or any other wifi tether app working properly! What happens is that it installs fine, asks for SU permissions and when I click start it seems to be running fine. When I try and connect on my PC I see Barnacle and am able to connect but as soon as I do it kicks me offline again, the other wifi apps don't even connect or show connected but I get no access!
I've tried a few different custom roms but it's much the same really. So far i've managed to wifi tether through the standard wifi tether in settings but it's not the same and seems a lot slower than usual, plus I want to be able to download on my PC and use Android market at the same time and I can't do that with the standard SE tethering options. I've also tried many different suggestions to get wifi/tethering back through various threads in this forum and others but to no avail so far.
So, I'm wondering if anyone might know what I have to do to get it all up and running again as at the moment i'm tethering through USB and using easy tether as it seems faster and more stable but i'd rather be free of wires and be able to use Barnacle again.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions, they'll be much appreciated.
in to barnacle wifi tether app
go into settings
change Channel to 11
Skip wpa_supplicant (tick it off)
DHCP>Gateway = make sure your default gateaway is the same as your routers gateaway normally its 192.168.1.1
try those settings and see if that works
I have an issue with my i9001:
I installed CM9 (2 RCs) for a while but it was still buggy for me. Then I decided to go back to GB. Since I went back the wifi switches off immediately after switching it on. I switch it on. It starts scanning and it switches off again. The device does not connect to a wifi AP.
Currently it is running GIGABREAD+, but it did exactly the same with the original stock ROM which I saved on the SD card and installed again.
If I do a WiFi driver test (*#*#526#*#*) it states that the wireless driver loaded successful.

What I also tried:
Remove all stored wifi APs
installed the broodkernel V1.2
issue is still the same, but with Wifi connection manager you actually see the available access points for a little while and then it switches off again before you can actually connect.

I think I found the solution in the end:
I recovered a backup with titanium backup. Not a full backup because I knew this would cause issues. However I did put the backup back of the stored AP's and that caused the Wifi to crash all the time. I installed the GIGABREAD+ Rom again and now without the backup recovery and it all works fine. Maybe this can help others with troubleshooting
So, the weirdest thing happened to me... I installed an app named WiFi Connection Manager from roamingsoft to play around, and I asked this app to blacklist my home wifi.
I then asked to un-blacklist it, but that failed, and ever since I cannot connect to my home wifi anymore: when I insert password it lists my wifi as "saved" but it won't connect.
Things I tried that did not work:
change wifi name
change wifi password
change wifi channel
reset bits and piece all the way down to factory reset the phone, install a different rom* and go back to original rom
* more on that below
Things I tried that did work:
change rom to lineage OS
change rom from android 9 to 8 (both original android one rom from the phone brand) (but going back to the original rom version 9 fails again, even tho I flashed form a newly downloaded file with nothing to do with the version I did somehow corrupt, and before I even logged in to android, so the phone did not even know it was the same user)
change the security of my wireless from wpa2 to something else (wpa/wpa2 for example)
oddly enough if I change wifi settings to have the same wifi name shared between my 2.4ghz and my 5ghz wifi, my phone will connect to the wifi, and it will connect using the 5ghz (the problematic one).
---
i also have the feeling a corruption to my nfc happened at the same time, but I don't know for sure, in case someone knows of a connection between the two problems let me know, but the nfc never worked on other roms.
When I flash a new image I flash a number of partitions including one named bluetooth, so I can't imagine which partition I am leaving untouched that has the blacklist in it...
Does anyone have an idea how an app -even if it had root privileges- could cause such low level damage, and more importantly how I could fix it?
