[Q] Exchange server security policy and camera - HTC Amaze 4G

So my work enabled a set of security policies on ur exchange server requiring me to activate phone lock with a pin number. This is really a pain but I can live with it. The real issue is that now pressing the camera hot button on the side of the phone takes me to an unlock screen rather than straight to the camera.
Anyone have any ideas on how I can bypass the pin number for use of camera/video camera?
Thanks for your help

I believe your stuck with the lock screen, there used to be an app to bypass the Exchange security policy on sense, however it does not work on newer versions. Odd thing is thy my LG Optimus T does not enforce the lock screen, but ruu,s from different countries do.

[Q] remove lock screen PIN

Hi,
I'm using my SGS2 with my corporate Exchange account.
It is fine! I like the mail app but the exchange enforces security on my phone.
In general this isn't a problem but EVERY time unlocking the phone the PIN code is required which is quite anoying.
I would like to have this either disabled or set a timeout for locking (not for screen timeout) as it is possible on HTC devices.
I tryed already some apps but they don't work. (no lock, lockpicker...)
please help!
cheers,
steefen

[Q] Possible to unlock screen without PIN ?

I have exchange policies through company email, which are quite strict. I am happy with that. Only problem I have now, is that I have to put in the PIN to unlock every time my screen wakes up. Formerly in WM6.5 (HD2) I could unlock only with swipe in the first 30minutes, and after 30minutes of inactivity, I had to provide the pin.
Can I do this now as well ? Is there a difference on the S II between unlock screen and PIN unlock ? In the settings I cannot find this option; are there solutions for that (other lockscreen apps e.g.) who do accept that ?
Hi,
I would suggest you download the manual for the phone.
in the mean time:-
Go to settings/location and security/change screen lock
there you can disable screen lock, set a pattern for unlock, set a pin or password.
Then go to settings/display/screen time out and change the time it takes to lock
Hope this helps
Txs, I see now that also exchange policy has greyed out the pattern option. So I cannot disable the pin unlock and cannot put in pattern ... Unfortunately so ...
oh coroparate phones eh?

I use touchdown for exchange app, and the pin is needed only for the app not the phone.

This is what I am using on my Captivate to overcome the same issue, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=848564, I know we are not on the same phone but I am pretty sure the "fix" can be done on the email.apk for your phone.
Basically you need to tell the native email app to tell Exchange that it is using a PIN when in actuality it is not. If it is too complicated for you to do yourself, Fenny is pretty cool about doing it for you, just send him a copy of the email.apk you are using.
Looks like there is already an email.apk for you found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13413332&postcount=1533
If i am using the original ROM on Galaxy S2 for United Kingdom, would this email.apk still work or do i need an updated file ? What are the chances of administrator finding it out ?

[Q] Allow android pattern unlock from Exchange 2010 policies

Hi All,
Haven't been able to find an answer to this anywhere but I'm wanting to allow Pattern unlock to users with Android devices but not allow users to not set a secure unlock type.
Right now I've enforced password requirements but that only allows pin based unlocks not pattern or face.
Are there any options to enable other types of unlock without removing security requirements at all within Exchange 2010?
Searched everywhere can't find anything on the topic except for people trying to get around the security features.
Shameless bump, does anyone know if this is possible at all at this stage?
I have the same problem. Exchange dosen't seem to support anything else but PIN and Password security, but also android versions act differently - I was actually able to use pattern unlock while using 2.3.6 - after changing to 4.0.3 the option was grayed out (as a policy of exchange)
It would be great if anybody knows a solution.

[Q] Auto WiFi patern unlock?

Hi All,
I used Unlock With WiFi for quite some time so I wouldn't need to remove the lock screen when I'm at home, but I use the patern lock and this no longer works. The Dev tells me it is due to a restriction on the newer versions of Android (I'm currently on 4.1.1). Now I'm not calling the dev a liar, or suggesting he doesn't know what he is on about, but knowing how ingenious some people are here, I thought somebody may have worked out a way around it.
Anyideas on how to automatically have no lock on at home (and at my Mum's, and at the other-half's place), but on the rest of the time? Note I really want to keep the patern lock.

[Q] What Apps can you use when password locked ?

Hi All,
I was wondering if someone could confirm what apps you can run while the phone is still password locked. someone confirmed it is possible to operate the camera. But I am hoping it is also possible to at least do some forms of quick note taking, possibly audio notes as well. Can these be added and operated from lock screen at all (create only, password to access existing etc.) ?
Work enforces a password lock policy and I find that often, I find the delay in having to unlock etc. just too inconvenient...
Thanks,
Zuber
