Hi guys,
I need some data to finish region changer.
What I need is 4 values from /system/build.prop,
+ info of what version of device you have (capacity, with/without 3g, SGPT1xx)
the more base we will build, the more regions I will put in AiO tool
Just copy build.prop from your device (adb pull /system/build.prop),
get this four values with notepad, add description and post.
Please post only relevant data.
example post:
Code:
SGPT113PL/S (from back cover, left corner of tab)
version with 8gb, 3g, poland
ro.sony.update.server=info.update.sony.net
ro.sony.update.category_id=ST001
ro.sony.update.service_id=nbx03_016
ro.sony.sku.base=nbx03_016
I will be happy to get all variants from all available countries.
If you've got tab from another country - contact me via pm.

yes, you've just copied build.prop from device to your ADB directory in PC.
Go to there and open it with any text editor - even notepad.
Find the values, and post it

Hello all,
i just bought a galaxy player wifi 5 inches and it came eith froyo 2.2.
I heard it is possible to update it with samsung kies, but when i connect it, there are no updates. Some versions of the device come with gingerbread as default.
Any suggestions about what todo to update it?
Thanks.
I didnt see any forum for galaxy player, so i created the thread here.
either go with kies (official software by Samsung)
or head to samsfirmware.com, grab the update and flash it with ODIN.
if i were you, i'd stick with kies.
once updated, you can root your device with zergrush (just google it)

I also suggest you to stick with Kies for now. Since we have heard people got 2.3.5 update from various countries, I believe yours is not far behind.
Updated mine last night with KIES. Everything went smoothly.
When I connect with Kies it doesn't give me the option to update, it says the latest firmware version is PDA:KD6 / CSC:KD6 (XEU)
Which is 2.2.2 as far as I understand.
I guess they are rolling it out at their own pace. The update didn't show up on my KIES installation but yesterday. Maybe you can uninstall-reinstall with a different country?

No more 3d and bass option on 2.3.5? Can anyone confirm these?

I need to try to update when I get home today
EDIT: Mine already has 2.3.5

I wonder why Sammy removed that feature. I guess i'll stick to froyo for now. 2.3.5 is still not available in my kies. I'll go check that one. Thanks!
So is G70XXKD6## Gingerbread or Froyo?

That's great to hear, will it be easy to create ROMs for EU and USA brands once one has been done.
I miss the auto volume option, but gingerbread is really more fast and its worth to update.
i am one of the new owners of this rig. will use superoneclick and root first, then try cm7. are there any suggestions for custom ROMs?
thanks..

Same here. The Galaxy Tab roll out of Gingerbread was an equally long drawn out affair.
When did people in other countries get their updates? Presumably the US devices came with 2.3.5? Anyone else?
Speaking of updates to GB, has anyone actually flashed a kernel with the new bootloaders? I don't want to flash over a locked bootloader.
Had email back from UK support said there is no planned upgrade planned to go to gingerbread wtf?

Hi, i changed build prop to acer 500, but in the market only appear apps compatible with sony s..
How can i hange this?
Why start a new post
when you say market thinks it is a sony, their must be something that you have ddone incorrectly. Ive said this before,, double check your build prop. Ive used the A500 without any issues.TRY to download something from market place from a computer. Does it say Sony? Double check the build prop and if necessary try a differnt build prop
If the build prop is not entered with the exact info i described then it will not work.
diddy,
could you post your build.prop and highlight the changes in bold letters?
I guess it could be helpful to double check for kadji9 and maybe others.

Yes, please upload your build.prop
I changed exactly like you but market don't appear, for games is ok, i can play all gameloft games now
Ok here is my actual build prop that i have used to make gameloft games work. The hightlighted areas that i have changed are in red. Make sure that this is exactly the same when inputting the infomation. One additional thought on this, the area highlighted in blue could be changed to acer, i haven't changed it but thinking now, when i download from marketplace my device shows sony A500.
I am not responsible for any devices malfunctioning, this is your decision to alter and not mine.

Just a thought, the specs on a sammy 10.1 is similar to the Sony. Here is the essential bits to change if anyone wants to try. Again this is your responsibility and i will take no blame if it goes wrong. I may try this build in a few days but as my dad would say" if its not broken don't fix it"

Download root explorer, and go to system folder
Hey diddy64
Would it be possible to make the root compatible with bulid 10 of the kernel? I tried one of those all in one things made by condi and it change the kernel build number from 5 to 10. From what |I have read you can't root if the kernel number is above 8
If not is it possible for someone to upload the stock rom so that I can flash that and root my tablet again?
Thanks
Andy

Thanks Kadji for the advice
Is there anyway that the root could work with build 10 of the kernel as I used one of the all in one root things and it changed the kernel build number from 5 to 10
If not can some upload the stock rom so that I can flash it again and root it properly please?
Thanks

So that is not an Xperia S firmware....
Xperia NX (SO-02D) is Xperia S (LT26i) but for only Japan.
Members of XDA search this FTF because they replaced by that of LT26i.
Seems to me that for ICS, the Japanese version of Xperia S will be the first to welcome him.
@gm007 - Yes multilanguage, for kernel is think same.

so, if i load this fw (or the future ICS version for SO-02D) on a LT26i it will work but won't have NFC working, and will have docomo bloatware right ?
Yes i think.

Yes.
It will flash fine (I have just done it) there is a lot of docomo bloat. Including their own home and system - i think it's really ugly! There is a tool included on one of the home screen and "Settings > Xperia" called "preferred applications" which set them back to the standard sony.
The boot screen says "Sony Ericsson"
In this screenshot the kernel is different revision than the world generic(005+) 004+
I get a "Error (509). This account's public links are generating too much traffic and have been temporarily disabled!" error when I try to download.
Wait i Upload again with 4Shared
EDIT - File upload again, look first page
is this firmware worth flashing on a (LT26I) with 6.0.A.73 unrooted stock generic ??
are there any imp changes in this version , like enhanced battery life ,sound etc ?
i also have a unlocked bootloader

These are not available yet. SO-03D has 6.0.A.5.6 just after launch. No sign of 6.0.A.5.10 except PTCRB cert. Change log for 6.0.A.5.6 states fixes random reboots only.

Rooted System
Here's a rooted system image for anyone interested.. Superuser.apk and busybox included. (oh and it's 1GB)
bootanimation has been changed form the SE/NTT one to the current XPERIA S one. I've also changed all build.prop references from SO-02D to LT26i
1. Download from hotfile or uploaded.to
2. unzip
3. flash with fastboot
Code:
fastboot flash system 6.0.A.4.1-1GB-docomo-root-system.img
MD5SUM:
da48edfbf976a826e7d421745351fde0 6.0.A.4.1-1GB-docomo-root-system.img
I've been running it for a day with no problems, but use at your own risk!

To change si code, you need to edit build.prop. Set the following lines to the choosen SI code (remeber to only change the 8 si numbers):
Code:
ro.product.name=LT22i_1261-8592
ro.semc.version.cust=1261-8592
Just change the numbers to the si code you want to use.
and ro.semc.version.cust_revision to R1G, just to be sure
Code:
ro.semc.version.cust_revision=R1G
You need root for this. After that, reboot phone and check on sus or pcc. If you update, please provide a ftf so other users can try too.
SI codes are regional/customization codes, you can check what brand/region is the code by searching on the attachment file. For example, 1264-3189 is the generic US firmware.
One notice: I cannot guarantee that these SI codes will work on devices other than xperia p, as I have extracted them from the firmware list for xperia P attached on the post.
Thank you very much o needed it!
