[Q] Possible to run Adobe AIR applications on Android? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm wondering if it is possible to install and run an Adobe AIR application on the android platform. I noticed there is a native Adobe AIR application, however android cannot seem to install an app from a .AIR file. Would the file perhaps need to be converted to a .apk? if sow, how is this possible? and would anyone be willing to do it?
Here is a link to the .AIR file which I'm wanting to run on android, just in case anyone feels like taking on the challenge.
www . infinitythegame . com / dt_army / army3 . rar
Cheers

The Adobe Air application is on there, because people make apps that run off adobe air. I am pretty sure it is possible to convert them to .Apk, but I don't really know how.
Hope this helps! It would be much appreciated if you clicked the thank button,

Search for swf to apk converter, and you will find something. Use winrar to extract the air file, where you'll find the swf file. There enough online converters to find, but I don't know if the work all. Success!

Yeah I had a crack at that. For whatever reason, the swf file alone doesn't seem to run properly.

Help with creating an App

Anyone want to make a little cash? Just need a simple app that can be used for Android and Iphone. I have what I want in mind just need it built and put out. It is fairly simple. Just need it to link up to my webpage.
You could try using this: http://www.appinventorbeta.com/about/ . Maybe it could help.

What computer OS do you have? I can't find the program after it installs. I'm on Windows 7 x64 bit

I would say yes, although my Android skills are extremely limited as-is. Although running a program idea by me wouldn't hurt either (would it?)

The program is in Java, so it's universal. The web component should run on any browser. If anything was "loaded" it should be in your downloads folder, else download it again and watch carefully where it goes.
I have the image I want for the app and the website it will go to. All I am looking for it to do right now is to touch the app and it takes you right to the site I want it to go to.

Just search for it online. Roms / ISO are about the easiest thing to get. Romhustler, rom-planet, and torrents are all you need.

I love fpse. Go to a website called freeroms.com and u can download to a PC or straight to ur Droid. Either way i recommend making a new folder for psx roms. U could call it ... psx roms

I have found FPSE is the smoothest PS1 emulator. Like others have said, ROMs are easy to find. Just google "PS1 ROMs."

I dont know what Pocket ISO is. but if you have the app, the BIOS, and the ROM, you should be good to go. Just point the app to the BIOS file and start the game.

Its on FPSeCe's website...the app wont let me do anything until I load one, so I downloaded it to my ext sd card and now I cant find it.
After looking through the directions provided in the app, this looks much more complicated than it needs to be..any tips? I just wanna play this game.

Have you used emulators before? What file type did the game come in? Was it a zip file? If so, I believe you need to extract it. You should get an .img file or .bin file. Maybe a .cue file.

Ive only used emulators on computers. This is my first time using an emulator like this. Ill try extracting the files. Before I would just take the .zip file and place it on my sd card.
Is ISO just a fancy name for .img files and the like?
Ps1 emulators use a lot of different file types. If you look up the info on the app it should say what type it reads. I know it will run .bin files and I'm pretty sure .img files. Not sure about .iso. probably will tho. If you get a file running on your PC though, it should run on this app

PocketISO that they want you to download is for modifying your own ISO's from discs you have. (Making them smaller, etc.)
You don't need to mess with it.
It doesn't matter where the BIOS is as long as you can find it.
Games need to be unzipped and should be in one of these formats: .bin, .iso, .img
If you attempt to simply change the extension in Windows you'll break the file.
I recommend emuparadise.com
Most of the files they have are already in .bin format. Just unzip, copy to your SD card and JOY.
I will be closing this thread, and here is the reason -

Don't post copyrighted materials or do other things that will obviously lead to legal trouble. If you wouldn't do it on your own homepage, you probably don't want to do it here either. This does not mean we agree with everything the software piracy lobby try to impose on us, it simply means you cannot break any laws here, since we'll end up dealing with legal hassle caused by you. While talking about emulatots is fine, talking about copyrighted software such as roms and the bios is not, now i will leave it at that, as no links have been posted, but for future reference please dont talk about or post links to copyrighted software, as this will only get you in trouble.

Hacking android games- on PC [Q]

Hello, basically I am wondering what is the best program to edit .DAT files ( the typ of file that is [mostly] used by android-game dev's to save stored data of the game )
and edit them,
also i was wondering what if I can't find the game/app map when connected to USB?
> I want to do it on the PC because I have the one X and are NOT going to root it.
Regards!
In order to access those files and write on them (edit them), you need root.

Please read again, I can access them through my computer easily, in fact I have them open now on HxD editor, but I need a good program to edit these .DAT files with.
Then you need to push those files to the phone, which requires root

The file of an app, say a game is under \data\data and in order to change or replace those files, you need root.

An app cannot write there under normal circumstances.. For writing there you need root, but games doesn' store their savegames there.
Let me put it differently.. if an app doesn't ask for root, all files it creates can be accessed by adb.

This is why non rooted phones cannot cheat on games, they cannot access the files there.
When you go into app settings and look under each app, there is a section that says data....x MB. And you can clear data. That data is stored under /data/data

Check again. All user installed apps have folders there with some associated data. Some games don't have their savegames there, others do.

Indeed, and the games I'm wondering about do have the save game in the folder, simply access-able when I connect my phone (One x) to the PC.
Any how, how could I open these files, with what program?

The save games' files are usually XML files. You should be able to simply use notepad (or any other text/word associated software) to edit them.

Hex editor, and messing around to see what each adress does. Every game dev uses their own liba and stuff, there is no universal program to edit those files.
Its like writting your own secret code inside a book, someone else might open it, but go figure out how to interpret each line.

It sure is. Hell, there even is a forum wide XDA announcement about it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=530
You might try enabling USB debugging... Found under developer options. This is in all Android devices enabling varies by release. Try checking out Setting - About Android - build version click that 7 times and it should enable it in main settings. It has already been said you really should root. This is usually the first step to getting root. I know nothing about HTC, but chainfire root has worked for me many times, from Sony, Moto and Samsung. Google your make and model + root +xda dev.
I myself have used Hex Editor, but it looks like garbage to me. Good luck and please give an update if you find a template or app
Interesting. I'm trying to hack my own game. Hope I can, because it obviously is possible...lol.
Hacking HTC devices is hard as hell, i have htc one and i can tell
The root needs clock work mode
And this CWM needs bootloader and the bootloader needs hellava time and experience
I just dont have time to do all that sh1t, isnt there an easier way to root stupid htc's, or at least to hack games on pc
Or hack the games without rooting
And dont tell me to use lucky patcher because its bullsh1t
Thx for reading

Need help with dropbox camera upload.

I am looking for 3 things.
1. Is there a way to disable video uploading? I only want to back up photos.
2. Is there a way to force dropbox to only upload when connected to a charger? I find the lack of this option in the app to be ridiculous really. I thought dropbox would be a fairly mature app by now.
3. How can I disable the uploading of the screenshot folder? I really have no need to back up these and it just clutters the camera upload folder.
I am rooted so if there is any root way to do it then do tell me. And if there is some other service that can provide me with all these features then do tell as well.
Thanks.
The first two can't really be solved, unless dropbox adds that functionality. For the third one you could try adding .nomedia file to screenshots folder and see what dropbox does about it. .nomedia file hides particular folder from being searchable by android aps like gallery and music, so it might work for dropbox too. Worth a try. You still would be able to access screenshots through file manager
