Why do so many people hate Rom manager? I love it and am just used to it since my cappy. I knkw it doesnt do everything with our SGS2 as it does for my cappy like reboot to recovery for nandroid backups correctly (except for using it for that purpose for cm7 works perfectly). But i like to use it for renaming nandroids and such. Easy to use and has never failed me. Wish it could be updated to fully work correctly at some point. Would be nice to get all our roms available on it/through it. Well to each his/her own i guess. I still use it to download gapps and such as well for cm7.

Lol.. seems like a lot of ppl really hate ROM Manager.
I either use ES File Explorer, or just connect to the pc and do my cleanup as necessary. I also rename the folders, so it's easier to identify which is what. Just remember if you do decide to rename your folders, no spaces , else you'll get md5 issues and wouldn't be able to restore from the backup you made.
A more interesting question is why a thread like this even needs to exist. I wondered the same thing the op did. Then I used root explorer to search and found the folder on my own. Search being the key word.

I tried using the search but it ignores two character words. Anyone have the apk for the IM app in the bionix roms? I installed fusion and would like to have it.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I'm pretty sure it's just the default IM app out of Cyanogen/Vanilla. I'll post it up tomorrow if nobody has already.
Just a suggestion, if you make a Titanium backup of all your apps, it saves the apps that came pre-installed as well.
Just download bionix, unzip it and take it yourself in the system/app folder. Use adb push or root explorer to copy it to your own system/app after making a nandroid backup.

weird, I just did that (because I'm a nice guy, so I figured I'd just do it for whoever would want it) but I couldn't find it... probably just didn't look hard enough...
It's not you... it looks like it was removed from Bionix Final. It used to be in the data/app folder, not system/app, but I don't have 1.9.1 anymore to pull it out.
Sorry.

Thanks, works fine on my Sprint Epic 4G, all I.M clients. Saves me from buying Beejive.
Well so I finally root my thunderbolt , today I had enough time after work, anyways , I have the original Rom the I have to download to root and it has all those Verizon apps and other crappy like rock band and what not, in Sprint you could practically take everything out, is it the same for Verizon ? Or are there any apps that I can't uninstall everything form Sprint or are there any apps like backup assistant that I can't ? Thanks for the help , and what roms you guys recommend ? I was using synergy Rom rc1 on EVO but it looks like the only got nightlies on thunderbolt , anything else that includes HTC hub and such ? Thanks for the help again

You can remove most of what you want, just make a back up and use common sense. As far as ROMs there're plenty of good ones, I personally like team BAMF's work.

Here is a list of the roms. I am running Das-Bamf's Gingrebread de-sensed, stripped down version. I like it, but if you go Gingerbread, you will have to download and flash the new radio. I would suggest trying a few of the fryo Roms first, and go form there. here is a link to a thread with a list of roms.

Renaming them should remove them from your app drawer. Root Explorer or another app like it should make this very easy.

Check this out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1236779. It has the appprocess and systemserver from honeycomb. Just use the /system/bin files. Don't flash it use root explorer or something similar. If you flash it your phone won't boot do to libs it replaces. Phone seems much smoother with it.

This was going going to happen at some point anyways but can i get some more accurate directions?
Sent from my Powerwashed EH09 Fascy using XDA Premium App
Well as I happen to be on UKB2.1 at the moment I gave these a try.
With the Honeycomb files posted a couple posts above I was able to boot but after mounting my sdcard on the PC the phone wouldn't recognize the sdcard again when I unmounted it. I am a lazy man by nature so I just decided then and there that it wasn't worth my time to investigate further. YMMV.
With the Gingerbread files in the OP, at least I didn't have that problem. Gonna give it a couple days to see if anything is different/better.
The install process is to copy app_process and system_server from the zips to /system/bin and chmod/chown them to match the original files (chmod 0755, chown 0.2000 in my case for both). If you don't understand these directions you shouldn't be hanging out in development IMO but whatever.

Ok gotta question for all ya geniuses here...
Can I back up apps and data from my rooted samsung infuse through tibu and then take sd card out and stick in prime and restore through tibu to mirror what I have on the ole 4g?
Sorry if this makes no sense but seems logical to me.

Yes you can but this is what I had to do to get it to work. I had to install tibu and then copy all the files and drop them in the newly created tibu folder that was installed after the app was installed. I haven't had any problems installing the ones that I have installed.

I currently created a rom thats a mix of two roms put together and tweaked to my liking and battery life. I dont plan on distributing it because its not my work but i would like to make it into a .zip in case anything happens. How would I go about doing so? I tried fruit cake but it didnt seem to work at all. The two roms I have combined are iscrewed and turkbey.

Look at how the updater-script of various ROMs you use is written - that's the main thing you might need to change.

You can download my ROM and just delete my system folder and add yours. Do same for all files. Most of my roms use data for install off apps.. If you don't want that you have to delete data lines in updater script. Make sure you use NotePad++ not regular NotePad to edit scripts. Then sign zip.. If not know how just put zip on your phone and use signapktik app in market. If you already have turkbey or other ROM zip... Just do the same with there's

It doesn't always happen, but I've had it happen lots of times when moving big amounts of data like a whole system file.
Either way not worth arguing about.
