[Q] Any launchers with card stack as transition effect on app drawer? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As my title states, I wanted to find an launcher that has the card stack transition in the app drawer, to give it a more ics look. By the way, keep in mind that I'm looking for a launcher in Gingerbread. Otherwise, I would have gotten Apex Launcher or Nova Launcher etc..
Thanks

So anyone? Anything at all would be helpful.

That's hard!! Why not upgrading to ics? Any reason?

Well I have a couple of reasons. The main reason is scrolling. In every version, its sticky or it scrolls too much. I'm trying to be patient and wait for CheckRom's ICS release, which by the way I know will be stable and smooth scrolling for sure. But could you tell me why would adding a card stack transition in some kind of a popular launcher, hard? Is there some kind of a copy rights against it? (Sounds stupid I know)
Thanks!

if scrolling seems to be your issue, u can try spike 7.1 with siyah 3 beta7. perfect. you can also wait for some better version if you wish.
regarding stack animation it is hard in the sense that all the popular launchers might have other top priorities in their todo list.

Maybe I'll give it a try. I guess I'll try to msg the devs and try to suggest this into their priorities

Oh dude, search this in the X2 q themes and apps section. Can't remember who but an awesome theme ICS theme was found that featured ICS transitions and transparent menus.
I'll try to find the thread for you.

Here we go. The title of the thread says the theme is for CM7 but never discusses if that is the only rom it will work on. I'd give it a try regardless of which rom you are on just please make sure you nandroid backup before doing so.

Hey, thats my thread. lol. That mod unfortunately wont do anything with Go Launcher since Go Launcher has its own built in transitions and it doesnt let you disable them. The only way to get it working with Go launcher is if the developers make it possible to disable transitions or add in ICS transitions of their own.

Exactly why I thanked you under your download link. This is a very cool find, although you have no idea where it came from, lol!
I wonder if a adw or launcher pro allow you to disable built in transitions. I've always wondered so many people like those launchers, this maybe part of the answer.

[Request] Stock ICS Multitasking

Is it possible to do? I've gotten sense 4 multitasking on my nexus s so i was hoping it might be possible to get stock ics multitasking on my evo. I use multitasking a lot (even though its got its issues) but i prefer to see them in a list rather than swipe through each one.
people love to ***** about simple stuff lol
if you hate it so much return it
or wait for a AOSP rom like CM 9 or AOKP
dude, chill out. if youre gonna post such a negative response, why take out the time to post at all. smh. i love the phone.
I was wondering the same too. Sense 4 implementation looks more impressive and flashy for showing off to your friends but the stock ics implementation is much more usable.
The way you got the sense task switcher on another device, did it involve changing the framework?
Sent from my ViperRom Evo LTE via Tapatalk 2
hmm im not sure. an awesome developer over at the nexus s 4g thread made the mod. just flashed the zip and i was using sense 4 multitask. like you said, its cool to show off, but everyday use, i prefer stock (even though i enjoy most of sense)
It involves modification of the ROM's SystemUI. On the Nexus S, it was a matter of modifying the source code. On Sense 4, you're going to have to decompile and play with smali.

The charmeleon rom from the dev forum apparently has the option to change the multitasking, as well as the lockscreen, back to AOSP style. I'm testing it out right now and both tweaks are good to go. The only thing that is different from my modded ViperROM is that recent apps isn't mapped to menu anymore as joelz made some changes and that became non-functional for now.

Which option is the multitasking option?
I'm shocked that HTC hasn't made an attempt to fix this screw up. Regardless if they did it on purpose. Ok great, got it. But that was a bad idea and should be fixed. The multitasking is so annoying. I'll find myself filling out a form, then switch apps, then try to go back to the form and it reloads the page and kills everything I've filled out. AAAAHHHHH!!! Same with like copying and pasting a password from one app to another... I tried to ignore the hype about this issue while we waiting to receive our phones, but in the end, it really does get in the way. Can't wait for a vanilla android ROM.
Also, from what I've heard, there's not a single person on the planet that's actually happy about this. So why the heck isn't HTC changing it to appease everyone? Noone wants your stupid multitasking feature HTC! Shame on you.
EDIT: It is a sick phone though!

That's just a ui change, it doesn't change the way multitasking actually works.
In order to fix multi-tasking, you have to adjust the memory values which Viper's ROM does. Then it works fine no matter which multi-task UI you use...

ICS GalaxyS2 looks different than previews - why?

Hi, I just upgraded to ICS and I noticed that many of the new changes in ICS are not available or look different on GalaxyS2. Is this because of Touchwiz?
I also tried swiping along to get to the "widget" area, to no avail.
Also, I tried pinning a calender widget to one of my home screens, but it doesn't have the updated Google widget. It just has the Agenda widget. It has the "contacts" widget that looks like the updated ICS google version, but no cal.
What's up with this?
I'm new to Android so my apologies if these are no brainer questions.
Thanks!
Are you sure it actually updated? Go into Settings/About Phone and under "Android Version" what does it say? If it doesn't say 4.x.x then it didn't actually do the upgrade. Otherwise...IDK. lol

Lol...well i could say Google touchwiz, but not sure you would. The reason its different is because Samsung puts their own launcher on their phone that customized the look and feel of the phone and creates their vision of what your phone should look like. In short most around here agrees it sucks. If you want a more traditional look either download a new launcher like nova or start learning how to instal custom rooms.

Micro stuttering when scrolling through home screens normal?

Hey guys, I just got my S3 (I9300) 2 weeks ago and I love it. Very fast. But the thing that concerns me is that sometimes when I'm scrolling through home screens in touchwiz i see micro stutters in the transitions (like semi-lag but not fully lag, hopefully you guys know what I mean).
Is this normal?
I'm a little worried..
I am on the LF2 firmware. Completely stock, haven't rooted or installed any custom ROMS.
Is it the redraw? Theres a fix for that
Or the wallpaper scrolling? Fix for that too
Use the search function. Its really helpful, as is google search

Yes on TW, you can not do much about this. there SOME sammy roms Foxhound is one with the right kernel that got rid of the micro stutter on TW
but its TW not the phone or Rom!!!
most other launchers do not have this problem.

Never noticed any stutter on the home screen scrolling I'm using stock LFB rom with speedmod kernel.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
From my experience, every Android phone I have ever owned has had some degree of micro stuttering, and it has always bugged me. It's also interesting, because some people claim not to be able to perceive any stuttering, while others do, so it seems to be a very subjective matter.
I'm very happy to say, however, that the experimental builds of Jelly Bean have finally stopped 95% of this issue for me. I'm hopeful that once Samsung releases official Jelly Bean binaries we will see the remaining 5% gone too, but either way, I believe it is already smoother than any iOS device out there, which has generally been my baseline.
Edit: Changing launchers does help, but only on the home screen and app draw.
If you are using a live wallpaper try to change it as some LW are laggy.
Also try to check the services that are running in your background through setting-application manager. Maybe you have too many background processes
And lastly wait for jellybean update as this will make the UI interface super smooth cause by project butter of Google

It's no JUST TW. There is still some stuttering, even running CM9. Yes, the amount of stuttering is reduced, but the root cause is still at the heart of Android (pre JB anyway).

Agreed, but the launcher is such a small aspect of the phone that it usually just annoyed me more, as it proved the hardware was capable, but that Android itself was slow!
Anyway, "project butter" has totally changed the experience, and will be a big draw card to iPhone users who were hesitant to switch in the past
Thank you all for your help!!

No it could. Depending on what bg services Go has running. You can't expect a 1.5GHz proc to run 100 different processes and be butter. Like I said, Go was poorly written, but hey, at least its shiny.

I wouldn't use LauncherPro if you're running ICS. It was written for GB and hasn't been optimized for ICS yet. The homescreen is really smooth, but the App drawer lags a lot. If you're running ICS use Nova, Trebuchet, or Apex.
Or the new adw, its been rewritten and is really sick
Dude, you always have the worse experiences. Just do yourself a favor and install the stock deoxd global rom.....no lag and battery life will amaze you on STOCK.

im gonaa do an ruu update, then flash eaither slim rom or slim kang, or viral with funky kernel.... call it a day. if it is still slow, i give up and just leaving it.... im tired of doing all this so many times...
