I'm running the MR3 gingerbread radio and Imoseyon's leanKernel. Both work good on my phone with CM7.
can you upgrade/downgrade radios as you please?

yes you can upgrade/downgrade.
oh and the prefered radio for CM7 is the MR2.5
however, I find the MR3.5 is a bit better on battery, but slows LTE speeds a tad.
What is MR2.5 radio's revision numbers? I'm not too sure about those.
Thanks
It also depends on your CM7 build. I ran the 7.1.1 build from dev forums dated (10-2) with the latest radios (0906) and had reboot issues along with data drops.
I also just wanted to mention that the use of MR numbering is very misleading with all of the leaks that have been considered MR versions. Just use the date numbering like all the other devices people!
When I changed over to ProTekk's Unofficial Builds and the latest radio I've had almost no issues. I'd recomend getting rom manager (the latest builds aren't on the forums here), grab the latest unofficial build *as of 10-28 the latest build number is 20* and flash the newest radio.
Is it necessary to install a kernel and radio when installing Cyanogen Mod 7.1.1?
How can I tell what Radio I am running?

The Link he posted is the stock stock with everything stock in it.. All bloatware is in it too lol.
The latest is 2.17 build.. So have you already updated your radios in the past? To the lateset 2.17? Are you looking for a radio update? Or just a 2.17 build?

IMHO, If you like CleanRom, stay on the one you have now til we get a new ICS leak and see if the kernel issues are fixed or test out the latest CleanRom that allows you to install without updating the firmware on the phone for now.

I highly recommend rezrom 3.3, super fast, stable, and good battery life. Plus bored has a patch you can flash after so you dont have to update to the new firmware.
go with clean rom ICS its got plenty of tweaks and runs fast!
How long does it take to update the firmware? Is there a one click method or something easy like that and do I need to be connected to the internet? I only ask because the only I can connect is through my phone.

It's a zip file you install on the phone, the process is detailed here - http://www.scottsroms.com/showthread.php/856-HOW-TO-Prepare-for-CleanROM-4-x-Update
IMHO I wouldn't do this since there are work arounds in place now. Wait til the official update makes it's way out someday...

^^This^^
CleanRom 4.3 using the old firmware patch. No need to upgrade the firmware right now.
But just be aware, the ICS roms have kernels that really suck the battery down when the screen is on. There's a bug that ramps up the CPU to 100% anytime the screen is on. It might be better to just stick with a GB based ROM for right now.
I tried the cleanrom ics it runs real smooth but reverted to my cleanrom BG.some apps that I like are not compatible with ics yet. My suggestion is to try it, without updating the firmware. Remember to make nandroid backup , but you'll have to run the nandroid helper to revert back to a GB Rom.

If I do update the firmware is there a way to go back like sbf on droid x

No, at this time if you update the firmware you cannot revert back to the prior firmware. That is why the best method maybe for you to try an ICS Rom that has a patch that allows you to use that rom without the firmware upgrade. This way if you want to revert back ti Gingerbread you can.
Before making the jump up to ICS, have a play with Ineffabilis.
I'm running CleanROM Kang Tapped
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1586500
It's running wonderfully right now.
I'm on old firmware and I flashed Joel's old firmware patch and have had smooth sailing so far.

Is this every ICS ROM? I am new to the Rezound, mine comes today, and that is a dealkiller. I think I will try CleanROM Kang Tapped, but any other suggestions?

Can you link the firmware patch? I'm a noob Rezound owner, and I'm thinking I'm going to try CleanROM Kang Tapped like you suggested. I'm just collecting all the tidbits I might need to get started when the phone arrives
Thanks

The old firmware patch should be in the ROM thread for the ROM you pick. Just check the first post and it should be referenced there.

The CleanROM Kang Tapped version OP states that it uses the leaked firmware. I was curious what I Am Marino meant by applying an old firmware patch that allows him to keep the old firmware. If I'm correct, he can run newer GB ROMs with older firmware, and doesn't have to worry about running older GB ROMs that require older firmware since he still uses older firmware.
I suppose this may be a superceeded by S-Off, but until then if we flash the leaked firmware, there is no way to go back, right?
My goal is to have a reliable, bug-free, firmware/kernel/ROM combo.
Any thoughts?
Thanks for any info.
I'm pretty new to this phone if you can't tell.

I've tried most of the rezound roms listed in these forums. I personally like Rezrom and clean romantic, both gb and ics. Currently running cleanrom 4.2 on the new firmware but the latest version doesn't require it (neither does the latest release of Rezrom ics). Both are stable so the big difference is theming. I've noticed that most of the developers are focusing on ics so there haven't been updates to gb roms.
I just went from Cleanrom 1.7 to Nils Business ICS 4.0. Its only been a day since on it but so far I have 52% battery left after 12hrs with moderate use. I have no complaints with this set up and I am updated to the newest RUU leak. Even with the newest RUU I was able to still go back to GB 1.7 and run without issues as well.
If you use market apps for texts like Handcent or anything you will need to do the third party contacts fix so contact pics from facebook or other social networks show up, but if not then no worries.
Running CleanRom 4.3 using the stock kernel, no issues with speed or battery life.
I've been running MeanRom ICS. I wanted to give the sprint stock version a try. What's the best way to do this?
Thanks.
Oh, read the forums, I think about a gizzilion boot loops, problems, issue's

Well since you can't update ota if you are rooted, just find a stock rooted rom and flash it just like any other rom. As you SHOULD know from reading, you can't run the new kernel without the new hboot, so update to that if you want to use the new kernel.

The 2.4 version I do believe was based on the VM leak. His newest 2.6 version is based on the latest Sprint release, and works just great. I have been running it with no issues.
If you have S-off , you can upgrade the hboot and kernel to the latest. If not, you can leave the kernel and hboot you have and just flash the rom.
Just and idea.
