AHHH! what can i say... the extended battery is awesome, the camera is awesome, no more droped 4g/3g, no more tethering haults... oh and i can HOLD 4g almost anywehre 4g is available ( constant 4-3g swtiching with razr) so happy with this phone, flashed to new RUU w/ cleanrom 4.0. wifi tether works with wpa2. great device, hands down
just curious but what was wrong with the razr? i hear it's a solid phone.

ok? well elaborate what "sucked" on it. im asking because im still contemplating getting a razr maxx.
I'd say that everything in the first post that this phone does, the razr didn't do for him.

Thank you lol
Mine does the same, but I killed all threads about it, becuase there is no point.
Any one who says "it's a solid phone" is a light user who can't tell 3g from 4g speed and just wants looks. The gnexus is crap and any rep will be able to tell you why.
This phone is not the best of the best ever, but vs the razr and the gnexus, it's the world saver x3000 + maga super better phone. (ok it's over the top, but you get it.)
I picked the bad phone, to get in on unlimited data and now I will be paying for it intill the end of the year. ( No not becuase of the 2012 thing)
Any way I don't care any more, becuase it work's some times and when it does, it blazing fast. (And I will have a "new" phone by the end of the year)
I also switched from the Droid Razr to the HTC Rezound. Two main reasons are the Razr was too hard to hold when typing and the battery life was too short when using LTE.
The Rezound plus extended battery fixed both of those problems.
Sent from my HTC Rezound using Cyan Tapatalk
The RAZR is junk for the following reasons:
1.) Can't hold onto 4G.
2.) POOR battery life even with smart actions and no auto sync (I heard this was the same on the MAXX)
3.) Super AMOLED advanced display was garbage. You could see black blobs and this was "normal" according to Motorola.
4.) Non-Removable battery (wouldn't be an issue but battery life sucked)
5.) Locked Bootloader
I'd say the only thing the RAZR had going for it tbh was the physical build. I mean in some retrospects it wasn't a bad phone, but just not for me I use too much juice.

1) So true
2) True but has goten better with 2.3.6
3) This one is true and it piss's me off.
4) 100% dead on
5) This would not be so bad if 1,2 and 4=true.
I think I am stuck with it now, becuase I don't think they will take it back.
the razr maxx would cure your battery issues. as far as non-removable batteries i hate to say it but that may be the way of the future. yes the bootloader is locked but there is still development.
Oh yea, but would it fix this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDxJoGv3FLA
After having a handful of Rezounds that had issues, I move to the Razr Maxx.
I went through 2 Maxx's before I got one without dead pixels.
But now that I finally have a good Maxx, I actually like it a bit more than the Rezound. The Rezound had a better display and a bit better camera. I thought the extended battery for the Rezound would make it better to hold (like it did for the Incredible) but I felt the Rezound was too much like a brick. I forget sometimes that my Maxx is even in my pocket. I never forgot when the Rezound (w/ext battery) was in my pocket
My Maxx, with more mah than the extended battery my Rezound had, gets about 3-4 days with medium use (my medium use wont be the same as yours). My Maxx feels more solid than my Rezound, but im sure that has to do with the fact that the Rezound's door felt somewhat cheaper (my opinion) with the battery contacts located in it.
I tested my Rezounds signal in many places and my Maxx gets 4g more often and my signal is better for calls. I have only had data drop once in the last month and a half.
I also find my Maxx is more smooth. I loaded up Go launcher, and a few other apps, and they operated smoother on the Maxx by far.
These phones are very finicky and while I've had great experiences with the Razr Maxx, another person will have terrible experiences.
In the end, I just keep changing phones until I get one that works the way I want, despite the reviews I read. I'm not bashing HTC. I had an HTC Incredible that I still play with to this day. Just for some reason the Rezound didn't work for me (and I wished it did, I just loved that display.
Did you buy the maxx or were you able by a 10000000000000000 to 1 chance able to swap phones. Mine has a dead pixel, but I can live with it. The part that kills me is the data droping of DOOM. It does well at phone calls, better than my S2 in fact. It seems to hate desktop webpage of youtube. (Video stops playing even with 4g fine. My S2 with the ICS update hates it to, but not the same way.)
Becuase I can't repeat this and it just happens. I am unable to get anywere, so it looks like I will have to live with it for a bit intill I buy a phone again at the end of the year.
Did you have your razor stock cus my wifes has all sorts of crazy force closes with stock and I'm quite disappointed. But this phone kicks ass till the HTC one comes out that is lol

Hello forum,
I've read about 9 hrs worth of info on here in 2 days. I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. I will try and keep this short, I might fail.
I came from an org d1 with cm7, great phone. Its old hardware and I was due for an upgrade.
I just got the HTC Thunderbolt 2 days ago. I'm not very impressed with it AT ALL. I realllllly hate the HTC SENSE gui. I've never liked HTC to begin with. But the TB had 4g (which I just found out I wont get untill 2013) and a FF Camera. I don't really care about 4G anymore, any good crap I do over WiFi anyways. As far as the FF Camera, it was fun, im over it.
I have 14 days (12) to change my mind and was told I can switch phones. I really wanted the X2 in the first place, but I went with the TB. What I really want is just a beast phone that can last 2 years with upcoming tech. Everyone I hear talking about the dual core stuff says its over rated because no OS or APPs use it yet. I've been watching some Videos on the X2 and Im liking it more.
What I wonder is if its going to have any development? The HTC TB already has tons of custom ROMs and CM7 is about there. Do you guys think the X2 will get any attention? Will there be custom ROMs? I really dont like MOTOBLUR but I would be able to put up with it for 6 months over the sense.
How is the battery? Without 4G even turned on I cant even get a full day off this TB.
Is it pretty smooth and fast? I'm a little worried about the RAM .... 512 vs 768? I mean coming from the D1 512 should be fine..... but does it feel smooth?
Are there ways right now (I know you can root) to debloat it and take off MOTOBLUR ? I really just want a clean AOSP, but I'm very willing to wait for development. I just wonder if the X2 will get any attention.
Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Sorry so long.
If you want custom roms then stick with the Thunderbolt. Until the Motorola bootloader gets unlocked you won't be able to fully flash a custom rom.
Also the X2 does not have MOTOBLUR on it. And yes it is possible to root using gingerbreak and remove any bloatware.
I just got my X2 yesterday and the UI seems to be a lot smoother with the dual core processor compared to my old X. If you don't get 4G coverage then I would definitely go with the X2. Also in my experience Motorola phones tend to have better battery life over HTC.
The X2 does have MOTOBLUR but it is the updated version they use normally with gingerbread which is not as bad as the version they had before.
As for development like the previous poster said, until Motorola unlocks the bootloader and an sbf is found/created. ROMs are out of the question at the moment..
Personally I came from the TB and although the TB had all the custom ROMs th X2 has made me happy with the smooth UI, after some tweaking, and the battery life is alot better.
It's going to be a trade-off. If you like to root/ mod you're going to have to wait on the X2 for a while. I read they just cracked the Droid X for CM 7, so there's hope but no idea on when we might have a full range of option for the X2.
On the other hand, the DX2 works great out of the box and my only major complaint is no Gingerbread yet. I've used both and, given the TB's battery life sucks and I'm not around a 4G area at work or home and won't be for a while, the X2 is the better option in my opinion. The TB is not a bad phone over all, but without the 4G it's not a compelling device to need right now IMO.
I'd recommend you go with the X2 and wait until 4G LTE is both widespread and all the bugs are worked out in the system.
I've tried all of Verizon's 4G phones within my 14 day return period. (I'm paying full price, so I didn't just want to settle with playing with a floor model for a few minutes to make a decision.) Anyway, it was something about each one that made me not want to keep them. (Although I saw the Charge received an update that made the phone 2-3 times better from what I'm reading from users across different forms.) But I settled with the DX2. Far better signal than any of the others I had. Much better battery life. Better build quality by far. As smooth as the Thunderbolt, even with 512 of RAM. And it has the Dual Core processors, which will eventually be beneficial once more phones get them and more developers start working around them, software and app wise. I get 4G in my area in 2 months and I still choose to go with a 3G phone, because a page loading a few seconds faster on 4G than mine does on 3G, has absolutely no importance in my life. I think ffc's are kind of overrated right now, but will be the norm in the future when almost everyone has a phone with a camera on it. We can only hope Motorola will unlock the bootloader. I doubt Verizon would approve of that, but still, the original Droid X received some pretty good attention from dev's. As you can see, it was thought of enough that someone worked hard to get CM7 on there. So the dev attention will be there.
Thanks for all your help guys..... still a tough choice...
But since the X2 has a "locked bootloader" that means there will never be custom ROMs untill MOTO themselfs release an update to unlock it or what? Did the ORG droid X have a locked bootloader? Wasnt there custom roms on it?
I had a thunderbolt but the battery life was just to bad for me to keep it when i was near stl and had 4g it went from 100% to 25 in no time flat so i couldnt handle that. the droid x2 with all the bloat ware ran decently fast but once u take off bloat ware its great phone with much better battery but if you want 4g id say go with lg revolution it seems to be better i only played with in store but i liked it also

No, Yes and Yes. The bootloader on the original X is still locked. That just means that you don't have complete control over the kernel. Custom roms can certainly still be added once root is established. Also, if anybody's been watching the blogs, CM7 has been release for the original X. It's a bit of backwards magic of loading overtop and after the original kernel, but it's reported to be working great.
Indeed, I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that CM7 on the DX means we're in line for it on the X2!

Haha, me and you are both in the same place
I'm leaning towards returning the X2 and getting the Tbolt, but the extra $135 I'll have to pay is making me unsure..since I have no income.
The good thing is, is that I read earlier today that the new Nexus phone is supposed to have a LTE radio. (Verizon maybe?!) Either that or the Galaxy S 2..both seem like good choices.

I would, but I can't afford $300 for a phone .. I mean after trading in my X2, I'd have to pay like $150 dollars, unless its "lowest promotional price" is less than $299.

Besides, the Charge is still a single core phone.
OMG ! Some of you people are so picky! If I could have my X2's babies I would! I love this phone and I'm in the same situation as the OP. I won't get 4G til around until 2013 and I'll be eligible for an upgrade in January 2013. By then, I'm hoping to get whatever new multi-core, 4G, 3D display, FFC phone they have because I'm sure all of that will be more of a standard *AND* hopefully there will be better battery life for those kinds of features. Until then, gogo Droid X2!
FFC isn't all that great without 4G anyway and even if it was great on 3G, I still don't see myself using it until video calling becomes much more popular. I don't even know anyone else with an FFC for video calling, so how useful is that?? You gotta ask yourself: Who do I know with FFCs? and: Are we really gonna video chat a lot? Unless you're a hardcore SKYPEr or you are on business trips away from your wife and kids a lot, why not just stick to the casual video chatting you may or may not do on your PC?
Minus the custom ROM this is still a great phone and handsdown a top choice if you're gonna be outside the 4G bubbles for a while! Just sayin'.
You won't see any custom development until both an SBF file and the first update to the phone release. For the record, I'm quite surprised neither have leaked yet. Usually the SBF leaks in the first week or two and there is an update within the first couple weeks to fix stability issues. The X2 has so many stability issues that I think they're just going to push GB to the device rather than try to fix all the Froyo problems. That being said, it could still be a while before we see GB. I also wouldn't own this phone without being willing to root it. Too unstable without being able to fix the memory allocation problems.

That's a good point. Now that I think about it, a single core phone isnt worth $300 dollars , even if it has 4G... I just rooted my X2, and now I going to try to uninstall the bloat, but it already feels faster.

I'll second the comment that nearly all the VZW phones involve compromises of some sort. The compromises on the X2 are the lack of 4G, the not-quite-top-tier screen, and the fact that we might not see custom ROMs for a very long time.
That said, my phone is my lifeline, and the X2 meets my need for good build quality, good reception, a loud speaker (I'm a little hard at hearing), and that can get me into and out of my work-related apps quickly.
I feel like I got a good PHONE that's solid, loud, reliable, and pretty quick. Good enough for me for now. If I get Cryogen on it, then all the better, but it won't kill it for me.
Chris
I had the TB and it was a POS. Bad gps, light leaks, horrible battery, terrible speaker, kickstand started peeling after a month. I'm not saying my DX2 is perfect, but it kicks the TB's ass. Love my dual core monster.

So i called in about the issues with phone calls and I got offered an Droid X2, Droid Incredible 2 and an Droid Charge if i go in store. The tech said he'd personally go with the Droid Incredible 2 as a different brand since Sammy Fascinate was giving me issues and that coverage for 4G LTE was a little spotty due to it being a new technology and all, so he'd personally wait about a year more till he would get anything 4G related. Which makes sense.
So just wondering for the people that have made the switch to either the droid charge or the droid incredible 2 due to missed calls and text (which were utterly annoying... especially when the said calls got somehow forwarded to someone else(?!)), which ones did you guys decide and why?
I'm wondering is the droid incredible 2 has better hardware wise and snappier due to the extra ram or would the droid charge beat the droid incredbile 2 because of the hummingbird processor after changing it from an rfs filing system to ext4? Though from what I've heard and talked to, the charge is the same overall GPU and CPU as the fascinate just with updated 4G LTE radio and an Super Amoled Plus screen... and is the SLCD screen any good???
I can't quite decide which one to get as I'm kinda iffy on getting another samsung product.. especially if it were basically the same as the fascinate. I love my fascinate but having multiple missed calls without notification and forwarded ones is just plain bad.. . I have (or so says the coverage map..) 4G in my area but realistically I highly doubt its applicable since apparently I'm on the EDGE of 3G coverage radius so 3G is horrible for me. Though if 4G actually is covered much better than id have to go with that since coverage is better than no coverage.
Please help me decide which one to get and also which one are most of the devs from the Fassy team getting-for the ones with the same issue as others?

So I went ahead and got the Droid Incredible 2 and I say I couldn't be happier with it because HTC Sense looks really nice for usability but also the fact that the launcher looks and acts good!! I'm so glad, done with TW! I will miss my SAMOLED screen though.. but I can still upgrade and I'm sure by that time HOPEFULLY they'll have something along the lines of Galaxy S2! That would be nice..
Thanks for all of you guys help!! Hope I made the right choice, though I seem to think I did haha. Anybody know a good case and skin to go with it??
EDIT: just got Miui mtb Tom on my phone and boy does MIUI look sexy on the fascinates screen.. and it runs real smooth with no problems on the ec09 modem surprisingly. I wish I had done this earlier... now I'm going to miss this screen and miui running on it.. it looks so nice haha. Tempted to switch from the dinc2 to the charge just for the screen itself running MIUI but I'm pretty sure I know I want some of that good HTC integration with Facebook lol.. . I'm well surprised with MIUI.. even though I somehow didn't get voodoo to correctly convert the phone. :/

I took the offer for a Charge the other day due to the problems with my Fassy, so I don't have it yet. That said, both are very nice phones. I've seen and played with the Dinc2 and its SLCD screen definitely gives the SAMOLED a little competition. It's also a little faster/snappier which is mostly due to the newer 1ghz processor it comes with as well as HTC's Sense UI (which I waaaaaay prefer over Touchwiz). The front facing camera (and better 8mp back camera) as well as global capabilities are nice as well. The Charge has it beat in the screen department with the SAMOLED+ screen and the data speed department with 4G, but seems to be a little big and bulky yet thin. Also some people don't like the physical buttons on the bottom instead of capacitive ones but they work nicely. It has the same front facing camera, back camera, and newer generation 1ghz processor but also includes HDMI out. Both come stock with 2.2 FroYo, however I'm hearing new Dinc2's are shipping with 2.3 Gingerbread which means no rooting/roms (for now ). If you have 4G coverage I would say Charge as it is arguably one of the best phones VZ has at the moment.

i too went with the charge.. the SAMOLED+ screen is stunning, no other phones have screen quality and vibrance of samsung.. the charge also has 512mb of formatted ram as to wear the fascinate, has like 386 formatted. so a lil more ram, lil faster prossesor a bigger screen FFC HDMI out and 4G i dont see how anyone is having trouble making this desion.. in my opinion the only thing the INC2 has over the charge is Sense.. but i preffer Aosp so it doesnt matter regaurdless.
Go to verizon and play with both phones. Vzw sent me a dinc2 and a charge. Got the dinc2 on friday and played with it all weekend.
Today my charge arrived and while I was pretty sure I was keeping the dinc2, I ended up falling in love with the charge from the second I turned it on. The screen is bigger than the dinc2 and certainly more crisp. I wouldnt say its a huge difference but the blacks come thru much darker on the charge.
The dinc2 was a bit snappier when scrolling thru home screens or starting up apps. With that said it wasn't a huge difference. Since I had the opportunity to have both phones in my possession I did a little face off. It seemed like the dinc2 was better at scrolling and loading apps, the charge beats the dinc2 in the screen dept. And both phones felt pretty much even in respects to internet browsing off of my home fios wifi.
In the end the choice was made easy for me and boiled down to the 4.3 inch super AMOLED plus screen, Along with the familiarity of samsung. The dinc2 and my fassy are both in a box and on their way back to Texas via FEDEX.
I would highly reccomend going to verizon and toying around with both phones. Ultimately it's gonna boil down to which ever phone works best for you......

I was going thru the same choices this morning so i went to the store and after looking at both i decided on the charge also. Many people in IRC had lots of thoughts about both but they all said in the end its a personal preference. plus if you choose charge you have no choice but to go to the store anyhow.
my inc2 comes tomorrow, kind of excited....should be a nice change of pace from samsung stuff until the sgs2 drops
i'm pretty sure i know the answer here, but can anyone confirm that the charge replacement DOES or DOES NOT come with the pre installed 32g SD Card, required SIM Card and standard charging cables?
I gotta ask. Do you keep your phone until the replacement arrives or do they take your phone and your SOL until it comes?

my charge will come with everything according to the rep in the store I ordered it from, I simply have to go back to the store when I get it and activate the 4G sim card.. idk if that means sd card but that's not a deal breaker for me as I think I have another 16gb sitting around somewhere

if it comes with GB you'll be SOL for rooting/roms (for now) but I'm sure that won't matter on a phone like that

I did the same as nitsuj. Decided to go dinc2 and take a break from Sammy. After playing with both on wifi ...I liked the dinc2 more.
With the added ram ..I felt the dinc2 was more snappy and responsive. On web pages, I felt the dinc2 scrolled much easier.
I agree...you can't beat the samoled ...but the slcd on dinc2 is good enough for me. I also likes the shape opposed to the charge.
Sadly...root is not an option on phones shipped with gb ...but I was extremely pleased with stock performance...and I have faith that eventually the dinc2 will get root.
As for all of the guys such as myself who are active on irc ... we should all plan on sticking around to help each other since the fascinate community is 2nd to none.

You keep it. Once you sign for your new phone it deactivates the old one and activates the new. Another FYI, I didn't receive my 4G sim w/ the phone so you may have to go to the store and get one.

For the people getting replacement phones, do they ship you the refurbs even for the Charge? Or are they new phones? I get missed calls once in a while, but not sure if out could get me a new phone (or if I even want one).
Also, does it affect your upgrade date?

Hello everyone, I recently started a new job and I get a discount with Verizon so thinking about jumping ship from Sprint and the HTC Evo 3d. I was just wondering if anyone could please post a few pros and cons about their experience with the Droid RAZR. I am having a very hard time deciding between the RAZR and Nexus galaxy.
Thank you all for your help.
Bought the nexus first and immediately returned it for the razr. Problems with the nexus: terrible radio, poor reception, terrible volume, inferior battery life, somewhat laggy (live wallpapers especially). The nexus did have a beautiful screen and ICS. Those are the only two things it has over the razr. The razr is supposedly getting ICS at the beginning of the year so it won't even matter. Trust me, you will be happier with the razr. Do not buy into the hype for the nexus, you will be disappointed.
---------- Post added at 10:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:13 PM ----------
If you like constantly losing 4g and having slower download speeds, by all means buy the nexus. If you like a proven solid radio that has excellent 4g that locks in, go for the razr.

The only thing that concerns me about the razr is the locked bootloader. Do you think this will hinder development. I know there was like 0 development for the evo 3d when the bootloader was locked. After revolutionary came out development soared for the evo3d.
After few days using the RAZR XT910,
Pros:
1) Excellent receptions. Consistent download and upload speed.
2) Audio : Superb! I am using Westone UM3Xs IEMs and Unique Melody Mage custom IEMs. for audio listening. Very clean audio with good bass punch.
3) Design: Excellent and elegant. Very presentable for official occasions.
4) GPS: Excellent reception!. Waay better than SGS.
Cons:
1) Inconsistent of the menu's theme/color. I prefer the white texts over black background, just like the N1's.
2) Minor display problem, just like what others reported in other threads.Mine has the small 'black; area at bottom left of the screen, but it can be negligible, or being noticed at all.
3) Wifi, like others, slightly weaker, but, still performs very good.
Conclusion: Nothing is perfect, but RAZR is much better than N1 and SGS, in term of performance and design. A software/OS improvements can make RAZR even better.
Thank you.
Pros:
Excellent (Motorola) call quality and signal. Noticably better than my previous Droid HTC Incredible.
Great quality screen. After two weeks of the Razr I picked up the ole' Incredible and realized how freaking nice the Razr's screen is. Some people knock it (theverge.com review for one) but It's clear to me know they don't know anything.
Battery life is not bad at all. I get 12-14 hours with 4G enabled before I hit 20%. I don't do a lot of calls typically though.
Super fast performance when opening and running apps.
Lots of accessories available.
Cons:
It's wide. It felt awkward the first few days, every time I touched it. It doesn't feel awkward anymore but it's big and wide.
It scratches easy - (not the screen). I've been super gentle with the phone (naked phone) and putting it down very easy and making a point to put it down in a decent spot every time. It's got a lot of fine scratches on the back areas that touch the desk or surface it's resting on.
Camera is so so. It can take a good picture. It's just very strange in that I can't tell what I just took without going to the gallery and looking. Takes a while to get used to it. And the moto Gallery sucks but I just use QuickPics (free) app from the Market to solve the poor gallery issue.
Bootloader is locked. I haven't even rooted the phone yet so I am not too concerned, but it would be nice if it is unlocked one day.
I'm really tired of "the bootloader isn't unlocked" to be honest. Out of the box, this phone has performed flawlessly. I was a ROM hoarder at first, but now realize that root is not, and should not be necessary for any device to work properly. There are a tiny few advantages, but they in no way give advantage to professional usage.
This phone is a wonder out of the box... Nuff said...

The OP asked for "PROS and CONS"... And the locked bootloader would fall under the CON category. Unless of course you consider that one of the PROS of the phone? I'm not knocking the phone. Trust me when I say, that I think it's great. Perhaps he doesn't know jack squat about it, so I'm going to list it.

When the RAZR gets the ICS update, moto will unlock the bootloader with the update. I got this to get out of the og Droid before the nexus came out. I'm sticking with this phone. Not a fan id moto blur, but can live with it until ics.
Loving the panoramic camera shot.
Battery life was pretty bad until I got juice defender platinum.
No complaints otherwise.

There's no proof to that happening with the Verizon Razr. Maybe in Europe, but most likely not here in the U.S. with a 912. Perhaps it might be easier for someone to unlock it at that time, but I don't see Verizon magically unlocking it for us.
I had some issues with it, so now they are sending me a S3 for FREE.
I know some of you may dis like what I said about verizon before, but I just wanted to say good bye.
Edit: I will update this with a "how to" soon on how I did this.
One of the S3 guys asked me to do this, so I will be giving it a shot soon.link to thread with some info: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1824045
Edit2: Ok now this only work's if you want to use flash player and have gotten the ICS OTA update, so if you don't care zip about it. Then you will not likely be getting a S3 this way and I don't want any one to do it just becuase they want a better phone.
Now on to the "how to" as I like to call it.
The base of this working is to know that ICS can and does in fact work with flash player and that the S3 and more ICS phones work and ARE SUPPORTED by flash/adobe. More on that later, Now To some links and talking points.
1st link to the flash web site and what it say's not what verizon/motoroa say about some BS that flash is NOT SUPPORTED on ICS: http://www.adobe.com/devnet-apps/flashruntimes/certified-devices.html
Now there loads of ISC phones that work with flash like the S3 and more if you look that are on verizon.
2) Now after this ask to swap out for the S3 becuase they both cost the same on the verizon store and you will not take a lesser phone for braking flash on your phone and for the mistake they made they should let you swap your phone for the one you want if they cost the same.
3) If you can't get them to do it at this point then you point out that flash player is listed on your own store with 4.0.4 and that if some one got the phone today for flash and then come home with it and it did not work then he could take it back for a S3, so why can't I? Link: http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/...t&action=viewPhoneDetail&selectedPhoneId=5852
Now #3 is were I got a S3, but if they still say no. Then I think there is more you can try.
1) Like Going to the BBB/FCC about this.
2) You could say you will go to AT&T. ( I know most of you think they are trash, but Verizon cares a lot more about AT&T than sprint/t-moblie.)
3) You can ask for a for a FULL refund at full retail price, because it does not have some thing working the site say's it does. Then buy and do what you want with the $599.99 or what ever it is.( I did not ask for this, but was going to if a swap did not work at all.)
It's listed under DETAILS>WEB>Webkit 5 HTML Browser, Adobe Flash
I will try and update it more and clean it up a bit, but that should do for now.
Update: I got the phone to day and it works very well so far.
Now I am going to do a quick run down on what I like about it vs the razr and what I like better on the razr.
What I like Vs the razr:
1) The 1.5Ghz S4 is faster by more than what you would think.
2) The 720p 4.8in screen is very nice. ( Not having Super AMOLED "+" is a shame, but for most it's more than you would ever need. Now for me Give me 1080P RGB so I don't see one pixal and that's why I am called 4KTVS.)
3) Having flash player 100% working Is very nice and why I did not want the razr any more. ( I want flash player to work for as long as it can.)
4) The UI is nicer for turning on BT,GPS and so on. ( I just like TW 4 and 5 better than 100% stock over all, but that's just me.)
5) The GPS works better/locks on faster.( I think my razr may have a hardwere issue here so this may not be fair.)
6) The phone has better sound from the phone. ( Not talking about calls, but they have been good so far.)
7) Getting better Down load speeds from wifi and 4G.( Thanks Qualcomm)
8) Wifi holds better/longer better range and get's better upload speeds. ( WIFI on this phone rocks, my razr seemed to have poor wifi so I used 4G all the time. This again could be a hard were issue and may not be fair.)
9) Charging the phone is better. ( It does not need to be "on" to charge from PC usb or any thing like that.)
10) Just is very likely just me, but I like having a home button to hit. ( Not just tap)
What I don't like vs the razr:
1) Tethering under setting's>Wireless and networks>tethering>Usb tethering does not work for free any more. ( I don't know why I was able to do this before, but I miss it still.)
2) It's not "water proof" like the Razr is and I will miss it.
3) I don't like how the back feels vs the razr.
4) 3G/CDMA seem's weeker than the razr so far, but I live in a 4G area with no way to force 3G only. I may need more time on this.
5) I like the size of the razr better vs the S3 do to better able to use with one hand.
I'm happy with my maxx but since I'm bored, I'm all ears

I just traded my rezound for a razr. Pretty happy with it too. Not really impressed by the S3 but I suppose if I was given one I would use it.
I'm in the process of deciding which phone to pay retail for to keep my unlimited data. Despite the fact s3 is newer, faster processor, better screen etc. I am leaning toward Razr Maxx. This is why:
LED indicators work with light flow without rooting.
Better reception.
Louder speaker.
Better battery life.
The only thing I don't like about the razr maxx is it needs a gamma adjustment....white is much too warm.
Am I nuts to pay $50 more for the old razr maxx? Are my assumptions above true?

Go for the maxx. It takes time adjusting to not needing batteries or a charger and everything working and working very well.
If the new model comes out with the big battery I may get it but this phone wreaks of cold hard satisfaction!

I read that the razr hd will have a smaller battery and use more juice for hd screen so I see no reason to wait. Maybe 6 month later the razr MAXX hd will come out?
I'd never trade my Maxx for a Sammy. No frickin' way. But that's me, hope you like it better.
I just got VzW to swap my GNex for a Maxx after 8 months ... after horrendous call quality on the Nexus I don't think I'll ever get another Samsung phone!!
Thus far I am loving the Maxx! Great call quality, unfriggin real battery and reliable data!
~~ Tapped from the 7th dimension~~
The battery On my razr was very poor on my first one, with data issues all over droping and stuck at 600kbs DL and so on. My 2nd one was better than the 1st one, but it had data issues as well like that. It was a big pain to get all of that fixed. Now that flash player does not work on it, that was it for me, but I am glad you like your phone.
Poor battery on razr MAXX?
It was the non-maxx and yes it ran very hot avg 120F and would not last more than 6 hours with 30min of on screen time. Most of the time less than 4-3 hours with 1 hour of on srceen time. It would get up to the 130-140F range some times as well.
on the phone now with verizon seems to be working!! im talkin calm they are trying to see if it is a noun issue. its not so far i told them about switching to gs3... stay tuned if they say no will get loud and threatin to leave my contract is up
Hope that works for you and don't drop the f-bomb that kind of thing just about never work's. Be cool, but force full.
Good luck

Sounds great to me!
I don't know then. I guess my past dealing's with them could have some thing to do with it as well. I will try and think about any thing else I may have said that helped me do the swap.
Sorry that it did not work.
I switched to Verizon a week ago from sprint and a nexus s 4g. I picked the RAZR M because sprint wouldn't repair a faulty refurb they sent me so I needed a phone. The RAZR m was cheap and seemed really solid. In fact its a great phone. However I am of the mindset if you're on Verizon and have the funds go for the DNA. Since Verizon extended their return policy I can use Christmas money and return this. My only concerns with the DNA are
1. Battery life -my RAZR m which gets great life has almost the same size battery.
2. Support -moto is owned by Google and updates are being churned out fast, HTC however has a history of not supporting. The DNA is future proof spec wise but will HTC support.
3. Build quality- after switching to moto build quality has become important. Kevlar back aluminum body etc. Are all present in my "mid range" phone
4. Roms -with my RAZR I've excepted lack of ROMs and dev support, but almost stock makes this acceptable. Sense however is tolerable, but heavy. I could deal with it but would look to replace it later with AOSP
5. Memory-7 the 8gb isn't cutting it , I need the 16gb.
Can anyone who has a DNA or experience with one speak on these? Thanks
Sent from my RAZR M using xda app-developers app
Memory is actually 11gb
Sent from my HTC Droid DNA
After you root the DNA and flash a new ROM you'll have about 11 gigs for whatever your needs. Many users are reporting that they are not having problems with the battery life, so I think you'll find it acceptable. The DNA has top notch build quality--most HTC phones do. Just go to a Verizon store and check it out. You'll be pleasantly surprised. As far as getting AOSP is concerned, I wouldn't hold your breath just yet. It could happen down the road
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
1. Battery life is much better than most reviews say. will last me more than the whole day. Especially with cubed kernel
2. Roms will cover updates
3. the build quality on this phone is amazing! i love the feel of it
5. There's already a few good Roms on the phone, and from what i can see the devs are very talented and will bring lots more roms to this phone!
6. Memory, this phone is advertised with 16 gigs. Stock its 11 gigs available. But once you debloat it becomes closer to the 16 gig mark
I hope HTC doesn't skip us out of future upgrade this phone is to beast to do that.

Thanks y'all sound confident and happy with your devices. I'll leave the thread open in case any other experts want to chime in. I think I'll collect my earnings for Christmas, then gauge from there . If I have the difference I'll pull the trigger, if not oh well It sounds extremely pleasing to own.
Sense is a lot less resource hungry than what it was. Couple that with 2gb of RAM and a quad core, you're not going to get lag.
The build quality of the DNA is amazing. It as a very solid feel and is definitely durable.
In all honesty the battery is nowhere near as bad as some people make it out to be. sure, it doesn't get the maxx life but its a 2,020mAh and given that it uses a 5" 1080p screen the battery life "fits." even if HTC doesn't update often the developers will certainly pick up the slack.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
This phone is solid as they come in build quality, love the solid feel of it in my hand...that's what she said.
I've had a bad experience with motorola and updates. The photon 4g for sprint is still stuck on gingerbread and will never be updated passed that. The phone was on a list to get ics but moto canned it.

Yea I'm aware of moto's ****ty history with updates and with lock bootloaders that puts you @ verizon's mercy. But HTC is pretty bad as well. t's just that the Dev community is so exciting for the DNA it won't be an issue. With my razr M however I have practically no reason to visit XDA anymore lol. This is a reason for me contemplating the switch, the deep community behind it. Not Nexus S deep, but enough to satisfy.
Great phone
I won my phone thanks to HTC's ambassador program (you can read about it on htcsource dot com) and I love it! Today was a good testament to the battery as I was out shopping with my wife most of the day and am about to finally plug it in. My previous phone was a One S so I was somewhat already used to the limited amount of storage, but I do think to myself sometimes that 32GB is a much amount. I would love to carry more music since I don't have the luxury of free WiFi at work. The storage had yet to be a deal breaker for me, because there are so many other perks to this phone. I absolutely love the possibilities with NFC and the screen size is freaking awesome to look at.
I say go for it!
After only having Moto smartphones for the last few years, I've never experienced HTC. How are they with their updates?
I know with Moto the updates were taking ages, but looking back it was a little fun trying this and that to get things to work. I forget the saying, but it's something about enjoying the trip more than getting to the destination.

if you have a verizon phone, your updates will take ages, period. moto, htc, samsung, doesn't matter. verizon is who dictates when the updates go out, and they're ALWAYS last.
I got to hold and play with a DNA the other day and man does it feel nice in hand. Top notch build quality, super fast and that screen is amazing. Makes me jealous I'm not due for an up grade but the DNA will definitely get more support and roms than the RAZR simply because moto is so hell bent on locking down their devices

Well, once someone figures out our s-on problem we will have the hardware to handle anything.

honestly though, coming from a guy who roots everything, i'm really enjoying the phone stock. i wihs i were rooted so that i could remove the wifi nag and make the recent apps button into a menu button, but other than that, this thing rocks stock.

Just a quick fyi to help you enjoy stock better. Just long press the wifi notif and press app info then just force stop it. The annoying notif will be gone til you reboot.
The rommer in me is not satisfied.
