Wallpaper scaling... - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I'm having a problem scaling any wallpaper to set as desktop. The resizing frame will not expand to fill the image. It remains rectangular, and when I set the wallpaper, it's huge on my desktop. Is anybody else having this issue? If you have a solution, please share it.
Than you.

I just downloaded auto resize, and it did the trick! Thanks for sharing. Using the thanks button.

No problem glad to help save you some headaches and search time.
It took me about a week and I tried everything before I found it.
Sucks because its not a popular app, so if you don't search correctly on Google play it won't come up.
Which is a feature I hate because unless you hear about it from someone or happen to stumble on it you might be missing out on a great app

Wallpaper Help

For some reason I have to crop all the pics to make them my wallpaper. But what I don't understand is why can't I make my wallpapers look like they did stock. My wallpapers are too zoomed in. I can't capture the true beauty of this screen..... Can anyone help me understand and/or help me find some beautiful wallpapers??

The International Note's wallpaper select tool is far better than the crippled PoS on the AT&T Note. I recommend an app called 'Wallpaper Wizardrii' which allows you to set and manipulate any image for a wallpaper. I've used it for a long time and it's an absolute godsend!
Agreed with juzz86. Use wallpaper wizardrii and if you're using a scrolling wallpaper set it to "stretch landscape".

I use quickpic as a gallery replacement app, much better, you can set wallpapers properly with that too.
Thanks guys I'll be sure to check them out.
Are you Noteworthy??
@JayFreshly
Another quickpic recommendation, been working well, both on GB and ICS

[Q]Scrolling wallpaper w/ nova

First post and new android user so please bear with me...
Scrolling wallpaper seems to work with Nova launcher if I choose from 'wallpaper' but if I choose an image from'gallery' I get forced to crop it. I was looking for some thoughts from experienced users on this...
I can't seem to find an answer on where to put an image so the device sees it as 'wallpaper' to see if that works or if I am just being a thick newbie and am missing something else. Ideas?

Samsung won't let you do it through gallery or anything of that sort. I've found when i use the app that I download the wallpaper with that you can set it as a background with that and it works fine and takes up the whole screen including the other windows. I use zedge.
Thanks, I will give that a try. I have a whack of pics that would be great if I could get them to scroll, I figured if I put them with the stock wallpapers then I might be able to trick it that way!

I did get the Zedge ones to scroll, thanks again. One step closer to manually setting it

Several apps in the market willl allow you to set a full image for your wallpaper. I use Wallpaper Setter.

Works pretty good. I made this my default note taking app with the quick launch. Watched the video then tried the app... I guess having the ability for creating more/different notebooks is only an iOS feature for now

Nice find, but how the heck do you exit it? Hitting home key seems to be the only way, no settings menu besides the type of pen button?

seems like a pretty limited note application compared to GNote, S-Memo, Papyrus...and smells of lazy iOS port as well...I'll stick with one of the others for now, but thanks for pointing it out
Hopefully it's going to have more options. Like somene said before others have way more options, s memo being pretty much the best but for us that are running custom roms it doesnt work.

[Q] Move Live Wallpaper to new phone?

Just got the Note 2. My last phone was the HTC Rezound. I loved the live wallpaper that were available, especially one called slide show. This allowed my home screen to cycle through photos, so my homescreen changed backgrounds automatically from the album I picked. It shows up as com.htc.android.image_wallpaper with TiBu on Rezound. Tried to restore it to the Note 2 but didn't work.
Anyone know if it is possible and can I just copy those two files to move the Live wallpapers from my old phone and make it available on my new Note 2?
TIA.

Thanks. The guy on the video has a very deep accent. I had to replay it like 5 times, but picked up a few words on name of the app and searched it. FX photo Live wallpaper. Not exactly what I wanted but an alternative.

Lightning Launcher recommendation

I haven't seen anyone talk about this launcher, but it is awesome. Yes, you have to pay for it, but with the amount of customizations available it's well worth it. I know I'm a newb around here, and this post may not be taken seriously, but I thought I'd try to get a great dev paid to keep up such great work. Best feature that I've been looking for for over a year is being able to put widgets inside a folder on your home screen.
And that's my 2 cents. Please don't be too harsh, remember I'm a newb around here.

Be easy on the noob, but this should be in the Themes and Apps section of the forum. Hopefully a mod moves it.
But back to the launcher, looks cool but I prefer TouchWiz, I'm one of those

This is the "Tasker" of launchers. It's incredibly powerful & customizable. Just a bit of a learning curve. But much like with Tasker, once you do a few things, the rest gets a lot easier to figure out.
I actually got frustrated the first time I tried the free Lightning Launcher. And gave up on it the first day.
Read your thread and got the ambition to try it out again.
Really glad I did.
Nova Prime has been outstanding for me, but I was missing some customization options and Nova Prime developer team has not responded to my inquiries. So I'm going to double-down and watch a couple Lightning Launcher videos and figure it out.
I really, really like that it lets you have multiple home screen/profile setups. So if I'm right, I can pull up a different homescreen setup for each Tasker profile I have set up.
Also, there are profile/themes you can download from Play Store that give you some pre-arranged fancy-ass customization. Just to get you started.
Tsf shell is the best launcher I've found.

Lightning launcher is amazing. When I first came across it I was completely lost. Once you get the hang of it...I haven't used another launcher since. Plus the developer is constantly updating it. Great app well worth the money guys

Sounds intriguing. Can you explain briefly the benefit of having widgets in folders on homescreen? Thx.

Fewer button presses to get information in the face.

Here is one of my folders. Sucks that XDA widget isn't offered with a dark theme.
Keep in mind that widgets slow down folder performance by a tiny bit.

I have tried lightning launcher and will say that it was one of the most horrid launchers on the market....using the s4 the only launcher I can say is pretty decent is nova prime and solo launcher....both are perfect launchers with no glitches and tons of customizations and themes

Google Experience Launcher is perfect for me. Not overly done like most launchers. The drawer is super clean with larger detailed icons and has Google Now integrated into the home screen...

Not for the faint of heart...
I love Lightning Launcher and can't say I did the first 5 times I tried it. At first, it is very intimidating for those that are used to the normal/simple way of laying out your homescreen/desktop. I have tried pretty much every launcher out there and love the benefits everyone provides, but have to admit, they are all essentially the same ole desktop, offering nothing truly innovative.
If you want to see the power of LLX, are worried about bugs and improvements, check the Google plus community: https://plus.google.com/115359051724948606262/
Again, this is only for those experienced enough that want something absolutely unique. If you are content with basic folders, simply swiping left/right and having the normal desktop setup this wont be for you. If you actually want freedom to make your desktop look the way you want, give LL a try.

I haven't had any problems with it at all. The customization is still amazing, and everyone in the g+ forum is nice and helpful.
