Just pulled up drippler -Transformer Prime- and it had a post about orbot, I'm about to download it and see how well it works on the prime.
Anyone that wants to read about it here is a link talking about it http://android.appstorm.net/reviews/internet-reviews/enjoy-secure-browsing-with-orbot-and-the-tor-project/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+AndroidAppStorm+%28Android+AppStorm%29
If anyone has already tried it out even on other platforms let us hear what you think of it.
Why don't you just download and try? It's just an app to connect you to Tor, like on any computer.
Evidently it works... slowly as it's Tor. See Tor website to understand why.
Unfortunately Orbot isn't working for me in China, and I've tried using bridges. It just never completes a connection regardless of how long I let it run.
It's frustrating, because I can access most blocked sites like Facebook or Youtube using my laptop and free proxy software (Freegate). This inability to find a similar free way to get over the Great Firewall with my Prime reduces the value somewhat of my tablet relative to my laptop, which is a pity, because I'd otherwise use my tablet much more.
I had some success with a free VPN (RaptorVPN) until they went the app route. I guess I'll have to invest in a fee-based VPN, but I'm hesitant to do so because you never know when your VPN might get blocked.
Haven't tried on my Prime yet but I know that it worked fine on my Thunderbolt.
I tried it out right after I posted, and it worked pretty well. I expected some slow down, its just the nature of what tor is. I tried it later that night on my computer and found it played nicely with hotspot shield.
Kinda not the same topic, but has anyone noticed that XDA Premium HD is off the android market now... I upgraded by rom and now I cant get the app back.

You gon get sniped by the government. Jk, when I visited china, I noticed they hadn't blocked encyclopediadramatica (which had a very funny (offensive) article on china) and 4chan. What is the firewall anyway? Anyways, I think you can use internet proxies(?).

Have you tried droidvpn?
I just tested orbot and I can use it to get around my schools wifi restrictions.

Nowadays virtually no English-language websites get blocked. Unfortunately, the handful that do get blocked -- social networking sites like Facebook -- are among the most useful for foreigners. I can access them using proxy software like Freegate on my Windows 7 laptop, but I'm looking for an Android option. As for "what is the firewall anyway?", Google "Great Firewall" or "Golden Shield project."

Thanks TechAnimal. I just tried it, but unfortunately the app mistakenly thinks my Prime is unrooted, and won't run. It is most definitely rooted -- I just rooted it a few days ago to use the EzOverclock app. I'll have to research this more. The tun.ko loader app also says it can't find an appropriate module, but I'm hoping that is a separate problem.
EDIT: Sorry, I've never rooted an Android device before, didn't realize I needed to use the Superuser app. (Didn't need to use it with EzOverclock.) DroidVPN works fine so far!
i've been using tor for a while now on my prime. works great, browsing is slow but working.

Having issues downloading from web pages. I will click a link, side panel opens with the document icon (power point for example), then I will, tap download.
At that point it will flash the progress bar with only a sliver, then show a grayed icon and say download again. Nothing will download at all.. I've resorted to downloading on my evo, using WiFi file explorer pro as an ftp... Works but a pain in the ass for school.
thought maybe it had to with some patches I installed from preware. I uninstalled a download unthrottler thinking that could be causing issues, but nope.
thanks for any input!
16gb touchpad, uberkernek, clocked at 1.5Ghz, various patches.
yeah I am getting the same thing downloading from my dropbox account.
edit: I tried a random .exe file from download.com and googled a random .pdf file to test from the browser and they downloaded fine... why won't download from dropbox?
The only sites I've tried are my school's BlackBoard site, and Dropbox. I shall try another site here at some point.
Same issues for me. It seems like a broswer issue with credentials or something. Any documents downloaded from secure sites do not open. If I don't have to login it works fine. I have confirmed this with blackboard as well as my bank account. I can download the exact same files on my computer, upload to box.net and download and open fine with the box app on TP. Very annoying....

By Jo you're right! Never thought about the secure site thing. Just tested it, same results as your own. Curious , do you have a bunch of tweaks and patches applied? I certainly do but wasnt sure if that had anything to do with it.

I do too. I don't think it is related but might be worth uninstalling then to see.

I don't know it it is touchpad related or just browser related. My intuition tells me browser since we can Backdoor the issue fine through the box app. Either way it will hopefully get addressed either officially or.in the community. Possibly a 3rd party browser can fix it. There r a couple for sale in the market but I won't spend the money unless u know for sure it has a workaround. Hopefully this issue bugs enough people or the right people enough to be addressed. Here's to hoping!

I'm having similar issues. Unable to download from dropbox and Microsoft exchange website for my school email
The battery in my phone (Epic 4g touch) died last night listening to Sirius while waiting at the dentist. Luckily I had my tp and mobile hotspot with me. I hopped on the market to grab the app and low and behold it was not there. What gives? Why are some apps available for certain devices and not others? Would copying the .apk from my phone to the /system/apps folder work? My tp is not rooted (yet) and up to date with all teh firmware.
Can't believe that app is not supported, really bullsh*t if you asked me. Give this app a try: https://market.android.com/details?...t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImFpci5TaXJpdXNYTWZsYXNoIl0. It apparently opens the flash login page in your browser.
Ya wont work on the Transformer, you have to use the one that goes thru the internet browser, sucks for sure

Wow that app had a lot of bad reviews. It's really a shame the app isn't available. Why would this app be available for my galaxy s2 but not for this device? Aside from resolution would it really be coded differently?
SiriusXM 2.0 app
Just installed on my Transformer TF101 and it works fine. IDK if it works with Canadian accounts.
www megashare com/4164721
I just updated the siriusxm app and now it works. It says v 2.00 in the corner just like d2kplus said. My prime is rooted and running stock. I copied the app from my phone to my sd card since i could not find it in the market.
Anyone able to login to the amazon market app on xwla4? No matter which one it won't accept login and password .

Works on mine, just signed in, I haven't found any issues reported yet.

Many of the new roms are being stripped down, I assume breaking things so just ask them to either include the files or ask for what is being removed/modified.
Also having issues with the latest version of google music as well :-/
Everythings perfect with shishirROM

Honestly I have had this problem on LILROM also (also was playing around with Rebel) and they both do it. I triple checked this before posting so someone didnt think I was just being dumb and it was a password problem but I can login fine to Amazon using the same Email/password on my laptop and on Shostock/ICScrewed fine. It was my understanding that the Amazon market is limited to US users so far and not international which was why I was curious -- its really a deal breaker for me because I have a ton of paid apps that are shared across my phone and several Kindle Fires. Hopefully someone figures this out and thanks for taking the time to respond btw...

Thanks I will give it a try but having tried LIL/Nonamed and Rebel already I suspect something is going on here that is either in relation to this base or how its being hellraised? I am not a developer but work in IT so if there is any information I can provide that might help correct this please let me know.
I will post back with some results on this later I need to wait for my GF to go to bed so she does not think I am ignoring her texts.
No issue here. Using lilrom, flashed before it was named, if that makes any difference.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using XDA App
i was on shishir rom also and didnt have any issues with amazon appstore.
Please don't blame ROMs for issues with logging into cloud services unless a problem like this exists for more than a day or two.
Login problems are frequently problems on the service provider side - for example, the Market wigged out on me this morning, but 20 minutes later it was OK.
If you install lots of roms check amazons site under your apps and devices. You may have used up the allowed amount of devices, just delete some and try to login from your mobile again.

Out of curiosity..If it was a problem with the market it wouldn't allow you to log in from computer either?

This. Ran into it a couple weeks ago. I think the limit is 20 devices. Every new login on a different ROM appears to count, from what I saw...though I didn't dig in detail, just deleted some aria and cappy instances.

No, completely different interface - for example, it's common for the Android Market to be inaccessible or wacky when accessed by devices but for the web frontent to be fine.

Got ya, thanks for the clarification.
Just spent a month in asia, and it's great to be back! I see there's been quite a bit of development
Anyway, I'm currently staying at a place with no internet, so I'm trying to use my phone as a hotspot. It was working great last night, but it suddenly stopped working while I was downloading a video. It took me to the dreaded upsell page. I was using the apn change method, and I've tried resetting the apn and rebooting.I've also tried the android WiFi tether app with and without Hasoon's method. None of them seem to work correctly. What's funny though is that I can use the hotspot to access google websites, such as gmail and google search, and even facebook. But almost every other site is redirected to the upsell page.
I'm on stock ics. Any ideas?

Apparently T-Mobile have found a workaround as well, a buddy of mine complained of the same thing, we tried everything possible, same issue, therefore they probably blocked it.
Have you tried setting your user agent on the computer to android? It is possible that they are doing some kind of deep packet inspection down to the HTTP header level to filter outs stuff.
Stupid T-Mobile.

If you have Firefox, install this addon:

The pages that work anyway
are all https.
The user agent switcher add-on for Firefox will help. After you've installed, you can get a wider selection of user agents by opening the switcher options, where there is a link to the developerr's website for downloading a bigger selection.
Here is a link to Cablevisions Optimum app that allows you to stream live TV for Cablevision customers. The one on the Play store does not work on the Transformer prime but this one does.
http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...0yig8pj3i718&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13543304821342
Got the link from this post:

*EDIT: Forgot to mention that after first signing in and exiting the app, you will have to clear the apps data and enter your login information everytime you want to use the app.*

Download link works for me. App works with live streaming of cable channels, plus remote control of cable boxes in my home. As the OP described, you need to clear the app data and sign in each time you run the app. Good find.

Out of bandwidth. Someone else host it as well please? Dropbox maybe?
this works on my rooted gt n7000
asks me for permission I deny and bam it works
on my non-rooted nexus 7
I followed the same directions and after logging in it asks me to update my version and that it's too old
do I need to be rooted for this to work ?
Can we get a modified app which will let us use external displays?
Amazing!! Thank god!
I am so happy, im sitting here watching sports center on my Tablet (Zenithink C93 ZTPad)
When I tried to use live TV feature with the App in google play it says that my device is not supported. This one works perfect on my 10" tablet.
now im really happy. because this is much nicer to watch on than my 4.5" phone screen.
The next thing I need to figure out is how I can watch the optimum app on the road. (not on my home router). They say to use VPN, I can see that working, however Id like a simpler option, if at all possible.
Anyone have any ideas?
Finally Cable vision releases it! Two years late...lol
Inserted 20ยข for the first three minutes
uh oh.... problem
So it works fine when u install and run it first time. once u close out of the app and restart it goes back to saying "not supported". Why is this? is there anything we can do to make this work. I think it might be VERY inconvienent to constantly uninstalling/reinstalling everytime i have to open and close this app.
any suggestions ppl?
EDIT:: Ok i didnt read thoroughly the first post. that i have to clear the data everytime. i guess that will have to do then. not the most inconveient scenario. i just wish optimum didnt have to be such a **** about it. they obviously have some sort of kickback from Apple because they have supported apple devices including ipad for years before the Android version was released.
and considering the EARLIEST android version of optimum app works fine with my tablet, it is obvious they are holding us back on purpose.
