when does the Stock ICS rom came out for the xperia mini pro?
It isn't out yet.
Mini Pro will probably receive it around end April-early May.

Whered you hear this? I just heard it would be between April - June sometime. Cant wait for it anyway
It's on the Sony blog...they say that our phones will be late April-May.
Most probably one of the last in xperia 2011 series to receive the update.. Due to our phone is on the low end section, they'll focus on higher end phone first...

Do you guys think we will be getting ths voice and eye recognition feature like ths Galaxy SIII? Will we also get the Svoice or will all those only available for the SIII?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
We already have a voice recognition app on the note but who cares because it is terrible at hearing what your actually saying. The eye recognition app we will not be getting and again who cares because it's just another thing to take precious battery power which is already sparse on phones today. Just wish they could release the damn ICS update already. - KID ANDROID.
The sgs+ (I9001) got a value pack including the face unlock
search for a value pack for your device if it wont get a ics update
Didn't AT&T and Samsung say we (the i717 users) would be getting ICS in Q2 of 2012? That's 16 days away from being over and I haven't heard anything on the update actually occurring. Anyone else?
Thank God for ROMs and the development community.
Dont know but as u said just wait =)

He is not talking about facial recognition to unlock, he is talking about how you can set the S3 screen to turn off when your not looking at it and turn on when you look at it.

I do not think either promised us anything. It was just a rumor that someone who claimed they knew someone at AT&T said, but it started with the rumor that the update was coming two weeks after the Note was released then by the end of Q1 and so on. Its just a rumor, why can't people just figure out that nobody knows when ICS will be released and all they have to do is wait.
That's right they did seh that I'm soo tired of these delays uno it very aggregating, by the time ics come to the note there might be on the two more os haha

They might as well skip ICS since we already have all this and jump straight to Jelly Bean lol

According to an article in last or the week before that, Sony in China said that Xperia P wil get ICS in august!
What is your thought? Do we get it, or do they wait until december 2015?
This is my first android so Im anyways having fun exploring GB.
I've really quit waiting for ICS. I know how buggy the last GB release was and wonder if sony would really test ICS this time around before releasing it.
August 17th is the date I am being told.

I think the Xperia S is definitely the best Sony device to date right now. If you want to wait I would suggest getting the GX, but since they have yet to even announce an international release and the fact that Sony takes 3 months minimum to get it to market, you might not want to wait. I quite like my Xperia S and the newest ones don't have issues like the older ones do.
You are just bitter because of yellow tint.

If you want a phone now get Xperia S. With CM9 and 10 on the way, that should open up the doors for some great roms.
Thanks for your replys guys! I sooooo want XS but I'm a bit concerned if its worth the investment. Plus I can only afford a branded one and again no chance of unlocking the bootloader ( later on...) so no custom kernel and stuff...
I'm really unsure...

Figured we should have an official JB thread on this forum.
Till now there has been no word from Sony on Jelly Bean for our devices. Your thoughts ?
Please read this before posting stuff unrelated to topic:

I think that JB is not comming this year, since Sony just recently released ICS, and not for all devices yet (mine, Xperia U, will come only on September)... So only on 2013... Sad though.
Sony may suprise us.

Indeed. It's really down to device drivers. Now Sony are using their own inhouse stuff, (Thor chipset), it may happen quicker. Also ICS is not that different from Jellybean (unlike Gingerbread -> ICS).
I would say it's a safe bet to see ICS on at least the Xperia S before the end of the year.
Even more-so given Sony's intent to up their game in the mobile market. If they truely want to be king of the hill, they need great hardware (which I believe they are now doing), AND great software delivered on time. (still W.I.P)

Nah..
Sony had corrected that. 2011 Xperia does get JB, atleast some selected devices(like Arc S for example).
I too think that JB won't surface, officially, this year.

The nexus 7 is a tablet. You can't make calls and send texts messages from it. It has no 3g capability.
I hope I didn't confuse you but I don't think I said to buy it to replace the Xperia s. I meant to buy it to be up to date with android.

Hopefully Sony will tell how to unlock the bootloader. Unlikely though

If that is a case, the majority of the customers will broken-hearted.
Sony better get the bootloader unlock and allow it to get rooted easily has a last gift. :/
I mean really?, even CyanogenMod can create a better custom rom then Sony obviously.
Why is Sony doing this, it does not matter about the old hardware "not supported" excuse, it would work anyway, they just ether don't care about the S1 or they are just being plain lazy even though they gave a lot of updates to the device. o.o

It's no doubt that all the attentions of Sony are focused on the Xperia Tablet.
Well am i glad i have the xperia tablet s and not the non xperia.
I cant wait for jellybean
Whilst it is disappointing not to get JB, it's not the end of the world
I've an HTC One X+ with JB and it's not that different. The Sony S hasn't lost anything, email still works, browsing still works, apps still work, it still plays music and video
I suspect the low sales of the S means that it's not cost effective to spend time developing and to be honest it really doesn't surprise me.
It is more disappointing that we can't yet install custom ROM's
BORING
Just release it already.
or better jet just unlock boot loader and allow root access, so we all can move on with our life instead of heaving to wait and hang on every word spoken by any boring lame Sony employe

Problem, there are still bugs in the system like Walkman image flickering bug, music player audio limitation block with loudspeaker which is a bad bug caused by the new audio modules, browser cannot handle too much PHP and much more.
Jelly Bean has alot of features like disabling notifications on any application (Useful to stop airpush), faster, UI is much better and much more features.

Bugs in the system are not ICS/JB specific. They just need Sony to pull their finger out and sort.
As for more features, still not a convincing argument really. When the S came out it had HC which was good enough at the time so why would the tablet now not be good enough, especially since it's got ICS. I still say it does everything it did at launch.
Which features in JB would suddenly make the S 'that' much better.
Look, I'm not saying Sony is right not to add JB but I still maintain it's not that big a deal

If this is true, then Sony are idiots. Especially since their customer support representatives told everyone who asked that the Tablet S1, model number SGPT111US/S, would receive JB in February of 2013...I don't understand the poor support for Sony tablets compared with the Xperia phones. It doesn't make sense.
