I haven't found the guide to unbrick the SE Xperia 2011 "bricked" device, then here it goes.
All of the following worked on my ST15i Xperia Mini Smultron.
So, your device was briked (doesn't turn on and probably blinks its LED).
If your device's LED works or you are able to turn it to flashmode (green LED light) then you can unbrick it using this short guide. In the over case bring it to Service.
Let me guess. Your device was unlocked and/or rooted just before it got bricked. Right? And you have tried to install official FOTA update. Right? I have bad news. After you have unlocked the bootloader the official installer (built into SE Android ROM) will always brick your smartphone. From now on you have to install all the updates and stuff via Flashtool or Clockwork Recovery only.
I assume you have downloaded and installed Flashtool for Sony Ericsson devices. Also I assume all the necessary drivers are installed on your PC.
Download attached file and extract the *.tft from it.
Put it to the Flashtool/firmwares/ folder.
Start the Flashtool, click Flash icon, select Flashmode, select the *.tft file.
Put your device onto flashmode and flash.
You're right, and there is always a need for these things, thank you.
Thank you for your file.
I've bricked my Xperia yesterday after a OTA update before unlocking bootloader with "Test point" method.
For me, worked flashing stock rom .62 with Wotan Server.
S1 tool flashed correctly ROM but still phone won't boot.
Now I have a question, after flashing new rom and "unbrick" the device my bootloader was unlocked and I must retry the steps of "Testpoint" or it is already unlocked?
SOLVED: Did the job hitting "RESTORE" in s1tool after wiping phone hitting "Restore" in Companion and flashing useless ftf bootloader relocker... '-.-
i cant get it to work
ok, can you please tell me exactly what to do after flashing the files on the phone?
i cant get it to boot, i also tried wotan but to no avail, the phone is dead
however let me tell you what my problem is:
my phone is a non branded ST17i (xperia active) rooted. nothing more not unlocked bootloader, no custom rom.
it was updated about more than a month ago (so i doubt it is bricked for that reason).
yesterday the screen began to act *funny* with a strange colored line in the top (i added an image of how it looked like), i restarted it, and it rebooted fine, so i put it to charge, from time to time within 30 *mins* i checked to see if the line was there again, but nothing, about an hour later i wanted to play with it and check whatsapp, but the screen would not turn on, it was totally frozen, as it happened before i just removed and inserted the battery (since this always fixed it), but then, it would not show a single thing on the screen, actually not even the buttons at the bottom would light up (back-home-menu), the only thing that seems to work is the vibration, and the notification led, after a few tries i removed and inserted the battery and put it to charge, but again, nothing, when it is turned off and you charge it, it reacts to touch lighting the buttons and showing the battery level on screen, but nothing, it is actually dead, so i don't know if it is bricked or no.
firstly i tried flashing with wotan, but nothing, i also tried flashing with seus, but nothing, and i don't understand, what to do with you post, i flash the files you posted, but then what?, do i boot it normally or do i need to flash something else?
i would be very grateful with a detailed step by step
If you haven't unlocked bootloader or flashed custom ROM or kernel your problem is very very strange...
First question: Phone will enter correctly in "Download" mode pressing VOL- during boot?
If you connect the device at PC it will be recognized? Launching Companion will detect a "Generic" SE phone or you will display the exact model? Have you tried a repair?
is not that strange look:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1572972
to your questions:
*yes, the phone enters flash mode
*yes it is correctly recognized by PC
*companion recognizes the exact model
*i have tried more than twice to reinstall and repair the phone software, as stated before, and the progress goes smooth showing NO errors.
phone does not start, does not boot.
if you have any ideas please let me know

You not need to restore the device because you have already a locked bootloader.
Try to re-flash with Wotanserver with another firmware version.
If problem persist, I think you need to meet local service center...

but The attached file in the main post not fit my problem??
Because I am in my country I can not use this program Wotanserver
Because of the proxy server
try relock the bootloader, and then you can fix it over PC companion.

Dear All,
I beg your help for solving the following problem (already browsed for similar topics, no luck).
Here a brief history of the mess I have been doing:
I had installed Cyanogenmod (Worked)
I had flashed back a Stock ROM (ST15i_4.0.A.2.368__GENERIC_(1244-2098).ftf) (Worked)
Even though I knew that was not a good idea, I updated the software (as requested by android) (Bricked)
I have tried to re-flash using the same Stock ROM has worked before, with the result you can read below.

The Symptoms are the following:
Device not booting, when pressing the power button the phone vibrates for one second, nothing happens. The green light blinks.
When connecting the phone to the PC, it immediately starts the flashmode
When trying to connect it in fastboot mode (blue light) nothing happens. After releasing the up volume button, the phone connects in flashmode
When trying to use PC Companion, I get a window asking for unplugging the phone, remove the battery, insert the battery again and reboot. It does not reboot
When being connected with the PC, the phone exits and reenters the the flashmode each 1 minute.
I know I am just the N-th noob asking for help, but any hint is highly appreciated!
Regards,
Luca

Hey Someguyfromhell,
you made my day, my mobile phone is alive again
There is still one question, is there a solution to allow the updates to be installed again? Maybe by relock the bootloader or using the PC Companion?
Thanks a lot again!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16659481&postcount=33 and look in the post for D) Relocking.
Seems, that if you used test point method, you can also relock via S1tool.
After that you can reflash stock firmware.
Almost same symptoms
Hi, I also think I've bricked my st15i.
What I've done:
-Unlocked bootloader
-Rooted
-Flashed custom rom
-Everything was working
Then with no reason, the phone started rebooting. It managed to boot and after 10sec - 1min it restarted again.
To solve this I:
- flashed stock rom and it stopped rebooting but as soon as I plugged it off the usb it rebooted and could not boot (it was looping sony logo and back).
- flashed other stock firmware, the same results
- now when connecting it to pc it goes directly to flashmode
- I can enter fastboot mode as well
- When pressing power button green led blinks
- tried flashing stock firmware again and then both the xperia_relock_bootloader.ftf and Xperia 2011 Range_FreeXperia_ALL.ftf with no results
- when connected to pc it goes only to flashmode (Can't make it to start)
- when pluged in the socket it starts looping up to sony logo
- when not pluged at all when I press power button, green led blinks
I hope you can make any sense out of this because I can't, and I've been trying solutions the past 36hours!!
Please...help!!

i think you should try old version of flash tool ... that already worked with me when flashing stock rom...
http://azuzu.spice.net.au/tools/X10_GB_Root/FlashTool_0.2.9.1-GBready_root_xRec.exe
you should try this stock one too with that flashtool
http://www.4shared.com/file/-4NS5SuD/x10_23_aro.htm
and make sure your battery is charged at least 50% before flashing ... maybe it was part of the problem ... try a desktop charger or something like that
Tried older versions of the flashtool already, .5.3m .7.1.0, .8.6.0 and the latest .9.10.1, but still the same Block Ver Failed...
But then i will try the links uve given me and try to do it....
I think my batterry if full cozwhenever i put my battery its green Led, i use external charger to do it coz i think my phone doesnt charge it, the green led always disappear when charging on the wall outlet...
Question. Can i really flash anything, i mean x10 Stock roms even when it is not rooted and have Locked Bootloader? When i am flashing there is none to be ticked on the options like excluding kernel? baseband? fota? and the like?
Thanks
yes only official stock generic or stock branded roms can be flashed via flash tool, dont tick any option to exclude anything you must install complete ftf file without excluding anything , the root comes after you flashed the stock rom in order to install a recovery like xRecovery on Locked Bootloader to install GB custom roms based on stock via xRecovery, or you can unlock the bootloader and install GB, ICS and JB roms via CWM recovery

ok seems that your bootloader is locked ...
Try to remove and insert back the battery until the green light is on ... with usb cable connected to the pc.... then try flashing again
if it gives same error try SEUS
http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/update-service/
this is the last thing you must do ... if it gives same error too
then it could be your flash ic problem or any other hardware problem ...
i hope you can make it ..
Sad to say Islam, that is the first thing i did... Installed the PCC and the SEUS, update it there but still flashing error... one time it reaches about 90%, and then fail...
If then that it is my IC Problem inside, do u think SE will replace it? or others say it must be the USB port broken....
you said you tried flashtool on win7 and 8
what about trying SEUS on XP 32bit maybe it might work ... you should try
after that if it fails try to flash a Froyo 2.1 stock rom it maybe works with you then you can root it and install custom GB roms

Hello, guys !
My old Sony Ericsson x10 stopped working 4 months ago and back then I tried everything I could think of to fix it myself, without luck though. Today I decided to give it another last try. I think the phone just shat down by itself back then, but sadly I don't remember much of the details. I was using Advanced Xperia X10i ROM and it was working fine, I didn't get any errors during the flashing or while I was running it. And yes, the phone was rooted / with unlocked bootloader.
When I press the power button the phone vibrates for half a sec or less and that's it, the screen doesn't light up or anything. When I connect the phone to a charger or PC the green light comes on, I haven't seen it turn red so far.
This is the s1tool log I get when I 'identify' the phone.

So I cannot flash any firmware or enter recovery mode because the phone doesn't turn on.
It seems the problem comes from that 'sin header' , whatever that is. I noticed that flashtool has a Sin Editor in the Tools, but I have no idea what to do with that.
I've seen 30+ posts with the same "SIN header verification failed" problem but I didn't find a solution in them, that's why I'm asking.
Bump. By the way, SEUS says I'm running the latest version so it doesn't help either.

Hi!
I have a Xperia X10 Mini Pro (U20) with Stock Firmware (after recovery with "UpdateService" from SE).
I have installed CWM successfully with "CWMInstaller - Windows - v5".
When I try to install "MiniCM7-2.2.1-mimmi" (or 2.2.2) it says that I need a nAA-Kernel but successfully installs CM7.
When I do a reboot CWM says that "recovery is bad and has to be renewed". After that all I get is the white "Sony Ericsson" lettering (again with the option to start CWM when pressing the back button several times).
So I tried to follow this "Bootloader and kernel guide" and unlock my bootloader first using Flashtool. But when the phone restarts it "hangs" on the white "Sony Ericsson" lettering. When I try again, Flashtool tells me that it is not possible to unlock this bootloader.
My phone is produced 10W42 - could it really be that the ancient stock firmware is the only one which works?
All I want is a more modern and fast (lightweight) android version to use my old phone furthermore.
Thanks in advance for your advice and help!

When you install CWM it is installed in the system part of the ROM. When you installed MiniCM7 it got wiped out, because MiniCM7 is for the nAa-kernel, and in that kernel CWM is built in. Which means it doesn't need to be in the MiniCM7 ROM. That's why you lost it.
And ofcourse it 'hangs' on the white SE lettering, because the ROM you installed does not work with the Sony Ericsson kernel.
You say you unlocked the bootloader, so why don't you flash the nAa-kernel?
Prepare flashtool to flash it, then attach the usb-cable and press home- and back-buttons together to force a restart. If the bootloader unlock was successful the flash will get through and after that, you'll have CWM back and you will continue to boot into the ROM too.
And be very careful not to flash the x10blrelock.ftf by accident, it will definitely break your phone. Best is to remove that from the flashtool/firmwares folder before you proceed.

Thanks for your answer, SmG67.
The problem is, that I have _tried_ to unlock the bootloader, but it did not finish. The "s1tool" still shows a capital R in the version ("RUNNING S1_EROM VER 'R8A029'") which means "not unlocked".
I also tried to install the kernel "U20_2.6.32.61-nAa-06.ftf" but this does not work as the bootloader is locked.
So can you give me a tip, how I could move on?

You should not have proceeded to install the ROM in the first place if you didnt unlock it. Open SONY Update Service in PC, click repair and follow what they say. When you connect your phone to PC for repair, follow what SmG67 told you

I am unsettled now, so I want to make sure to do the right things:
I have "repaired" the phone using UpdateService and made the first setup - phone is now running and USB debugging is switched on.
Then I started flashtool and clicked on the flash-button (U20_2.6.32.61-nAa-06.ftf); followed the instructions but it quits working after phone restart with the following output:

Root the phone again with flashtool and then unlock the bootloader using flashtool. After that, you should be able to flash the kernel.

Thanks to your reply, I was able to root the device with flashtool. Afterwards I successfully started Superuser and switched off the phone again.

There are no errors this time, but again nothing more happens: phone is loading and showing orange LED.
I am surprised of the log line saying that "Bootloader status is UNROOTABLE"?
btw: S1info still gives me a uppercase "R" for "not unlocked".
Can I proceed flashing the U20_2.6.32.61-nAa-06.ftf?

That will fail since your bootloader is still locked. Not sure why flashtool failed to unlock it, but maybe you can try the manual method, as linked to in the opening post of the kernel.

You mean to unlock bootloader with "msm7227_semc.cmd" as stated in the "Bootloader and kernel guide" (from above)?
Because this always leads to:
Code:
process requires standard 2.x android firmware.
Drücken Sie eine beliebige Taste . . .
Getting ROOT rights.
* daemon not running. starting it now *
* daemon started successfully *
and the phones LED flashing red sometimes
Thats not the first device I am using custom firmware with, but this phone resists all my attempts.
Finally I managed to run CM7 on my phone following this german instruction.
My mistake was that during the flash process the phone has to be switched on normally and not to be connected in flashmode (pressing back button while plugging USB in).
Thanks for your suggestions and hints!
My Ray has a weird Brick like condition..
I can access CWM, got ot Flash and Fastboot mode, install zip ROMs and FTF ROMS, but all I get is the SE logo - never beyond that.
The PC Companion does not recognize the phone.. where it should show the cennected Device's model number, it shows "(null)"
It All started when I installed installed a new Kernel (was on Fusion for over a Year, but My Battery drained fast when I tried KitKat (Beanstalk) so I thought maybe changing Kernel would help. At first I lost ToutchScreen (even in CWM)
Than I tried several other ROM's and Kernels.. still no touchscreen.. until This happened.
I have tried: relocking BL, UnRooting, installing several Kernels and ROMS - custom and stock (GB, ICS, JB)
PC Companion has told me 2 things: I have custom software and there is no software available for My phone
Also tried with Emma - it did its thing, but as You guessed - Nothing.
Xperia Update Service tells Me the same as PC Companion: nothing to update - already latest version (even with GB)
Also I have read through countles post's and tutorials how to UnBrick.. so far nothing helped. Did not really find a similar case
Currently it is UnRooted and Bootloader is ReLocked.

One more thing.. it is not charging.. It has been on the cable for the better part of a day,
but the Battery voltage is ~3,75V (about 5-10%)
Update: When I insert the USB Cable, it goes to Flash mode (without holding any buttons) and in 40 seconds Flashtool says Disconnected and the charging picture appears for a few seconds, and than starts charging.
Any Ideas ?!
Did you relock your bootloader with setool? I revived my totally dead phone (it wouldn't even power up, only green led blinks), I killed phone with OTA update on unlocked bootloader.
Gesendet von meinem Xperia Neo V mit Tapatalk 2
Relocked it with Xperia_Relock_bootloader.ftf
ReLocking did not cause the problem. I relocked it to restore phone with PC Companion (which did not work)

Did you try first to flash stock kernel or stock firmware then to relock bootloader?
Yes, after the crash, I flashed both Custom and Stock ROM's and Kernels.
Than restored Root and BootLoader and flashed ROM's and Kernels again.
the kernel seems to be working, otherwise it would not charge.
and the system should be on there, because the PC Companion tells Me I have the latest software installed.

Unlock bootloader flash this firmware http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46895025&postcount=40.
Also, if this didn't helped try fastboot clear commands (system, data... search in xda forums for this) then flash custom kernel.
I just recently ReLocked the bootloader. It was unlocked over a year before this happened..
I have cleared pretty much everything in CWM and Flashtool
I have tried GB, ICS and JB stock firmwares
So, as You can read from above, I have already tried what You suggested

I am saying that your problem is in kernel. How on earth you flash kernel when your bootloader is locked?
You didn't try any of my suggestions - except you flashed firmware probably with locked bootloader.
btw your "above" post is changed
stock FTF firmwares should have Kernels with them..
at least the Kernel image (when starting the phone) changes each time I flash a new ROM
Emma says that the Phone is locked
But now, when I tried to flash the one You suggested, the Flashtool gives an Error while starting the flash.
So I'll unlock BL and try again...
After Unlocking the BL Still the same: Error flashing. Aborted
Same with other ftf files...
edit: cant flash anything in Flashmode.. always an error.
fastboot mode works well.. installed few Kernels - no change, installed few Custom ROM's in CWM - again nothing.
edit2: btw.. all of the kernels which support touchscreen, mine does not work (CTCaer Kernel looks awesome.. too bad its touch Only - so i cant use the CWM part at all)
Emma also show's I have a correct ROM on it
https://www.dropbox.com/s/qdj1by4xbw132zp/emma.jpg
So...
Kernel should be OK (currently on Fusion.. again)
ROM looks OK
theoretically all should work ?
What could cause this... Hardware ?
The phone will automatically go to charging process if you are not doing anything on your phone while it's in Flashmode.

Try this
1. Install all necessary drivers like flashmode and fastboot drivers.
2. Re-download the FTF for your phone and make sure that the FTF that you download is for Xperia Ray. Maybe there is a problem with the file.
2. Exit PC Companion or Sony Update Service (don't let it run in the background because it will interfere with the Flashtool and make sure there is no logo of them on the bottom-right corner where you can see your PC time.) Unlock the bootloader of your phone. Flashtool can do the unlocking. Just search for the tutorial here on XDA.
3. Go to Flashtool and click the "thunder logo" for flashing FTFs and kernels.
4. Select Flashmode and select the FTF that you have re-downloaded.
5. Flashtool will load the FTF for flashing. A window pop-up will appear after the FTF is fully loaded and ready to be flash.
6. This is the time where you are going to connect the phone into the PC and make your phone go to Flash mode where the LED light becomes green.
7. When the PC successfully installed the drivers and the Flashtool detected your phone then the flashing of the FTF will automatically start.
8. Wait for the flashing to be finished. When the flashing finished, unplug the phone from the PC and USB cable and turn on your phone.
9. When the phone turned on and the software is fully loaded then relock the bootloader of your phone.
10. If you want, reinstall the firmware with PC Companion or Sony Update Service.

why you want to relock bootloader? try dont relock bootloader...
1. unlock the bootloader
2. flash stock rom ftf
3. flash kernel ics based stock (dont turn on the phone after flash from stock rom ftf)
4. install the rom ics based.
5. turn on your phone..
if everythings is okay maybe you can relock the bootloader...
I relocked the Bootloader to use PC Companion (it wont touch a phone with Locked BL)
I unlocked it again, flashed stock ftf and kernel (tried several stock ftf's - GB, ICS, JB)
still the same: turn on - stuck on "Sony Ericsson" logo
is there anything I can do in ADB.. through Console ?!

can you enter into CWM? if you can enter into CWM.. juz check the soft key.. if not work.. so your screen need to be replace..
No, the soft key's are not working.
Broken Digitizer should not affect phones software functions.. or does it ?!
After I lost touchscreen, I installed 2-3 new ROMS's that booted up, but still no Touch.
and Than this happened - Stuck on kernel load image.
Before I buy another Digitizer I want to make sure, the phone is working...
I Just replaced it about a month ago...
Also tried the WotanServer - software crashes as soon as I plug in the phone

I'll try that when I get home.. Thank You.. I really appreciate the effort
edit: unfortunately I could'nt do it.. There's no Rage Kernel for Xperia Ray.. I tried the other phone kernels just in case, but no help.
So... still at the same situation
