Hi
What would be the easiest way to root my tmobile SGS2 running 2.3.6? I don't want to run a big risk of bricking the phone.

Flashing a rooted kernel via odin. Use Cfroot.

Hi guys, I'm using a SG2 running Gingerbread 2.3.3 baseband version: I19100MUGKG2 and Kernal Version: 2.6.35.7 - I19100JPKG2-CL342890root @ dell 104#2 and rooted using the cf root method. It's also unlocked via that market app(forgot the author's name). If I flash a ROM such as Villain Rom or Cyanogen will I lose that unlock?
Thanks!

I wanna try staying on stock rom for everything except root. Which rooting method should I use just so that I can have root on the stock rom?
P.S. I'm gonna flash back to complete stock with Odin. Thanks.

I understand about the Odin, but on the Android development forum for the note there are like 3-4 different root methods. I'm just looking to have root on the stock rom and nothing else.

I used this method. Worked flawless. I rooted, followed his instructions for CWM, and stayed stock. Good luck my nizzle!!!

You don't have to do the CMW piece.

I have rooted my device and have the nordic LE8-firmware from May. Today I noticed via Kies that there is a new firmware for me, LF5.
Do I keep root if I upgrade via Kies? If not, how do I keep root? (is it possible?)
Thanks in advance
You cant i think

Just root it again. Takes less than a minute.
