How's your battery life? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I recently switched to the Galaxy Note from the Xperia Play... I've noticed that with full charge, my Note gets around 5-6 hours of battery life after medium to heavy usage.. I was wondering if this is the norm for most of you guys? I have my screen dim and I usually turn wifi, bluetooth, and GPS off when not in use...

Mine is fantastic. All day easily even overclocked to 1.83. I'm rooted, Saurom, bloatware removed.
This was like the 2nd or third day I had mine. Lots of tweaking and setting up and "Oh yeah, I forgot about that app". Also over an hour of voice calling, 100 or so texts, and Google Listen to and from work (around 45 minutes total).

39% after 11 hours of fairly heavy use.
Edit - That is also rooted/rom'ed/overclocked.

Mine is fantastic 22 hours and heavy use 3-4 hours display time at 50%, 200 emails.
Download CPU Spy from the Market and see if your phone is going into Deep Sleep (known and documented issue). If not search for deep sleep follow the steps and enjoy awesome battery life..

Thanks I'll definitely check that out right now..

Mine is great - been unplugged for 7 hours already, and with moderate use it's at 72%.

phone is decent over the course of a day but I notice that battery drain is pretty severe when the screen is on. I leave it on auto brightness so I'm sure I can save juice reducing to minimum as much as possible but that makes my phone less than ideal. I need it to automatically work and not having to fiddle with brightness just because I stepped outside.

What's your definition of moderate? While I don't doubt that you're experiencing solid batt life, terms like "good" and "bad" and "moderate" are SUPER subjective, and because no two phones are truly the same (as are no two coverage areas), I'd really be interested to know how you qualify the way you use the phone.
Not breaking stones here, just saying that you might possibly hold the world Note record for best battery life if you really are using the phone for more than just a minute or two here and there, and for more than just text, email and the occassional website or P2P word game and in a solid coverage area (not WiFi)....
Please advise-

Sounds like I have to check this out.
Is anyone getting battery drain while charging in the car while using the GPS?
I'm using the stock rom, with the overclock kernel but the cpu isn't touched as far as overclocking is concerned. I wasn't sure if it was the overclock or not... and its not the overclock. Anyone else have this issue?

What kind of car charger are you using?

Turn off wifi when the screen is off automatically; go into your wifi settings, hit MENU, then choose 'advanced' and go into 'WiFi Sleep Policy.'
Set it to when your screen turns off, or alternatively 'Never when plugged in.'
If you normally leave Wifi on and you drive a lot (say, to work), you're constantly scanning WiFi signals. This will cut that out.
It's made my LG Thrill quite a bit more usable, and the Note went from good to great battery life.

Let me see if I can find a high end AC to USB charger adapter. I need two, my iPod battery is dead and it needs power to turn on for longer than 10 minutes.
That is a steal though, that's a REALLY good price for that. I, however, already have a dual AC 400 Watt adapter. I am just trying to make it as simple as possible.
EDIT: I found something that I am going to order, and hope for the best.
http://www.scosche.com/consumer-tech/product/2318?gclid=CJLJsZSU9q4CFQ7sKgodfUk2Mw
It has 2.1A across each usb port. I know for a fact that my dinky little $10 usb adapter that I got, does not pull that. I will test with a multimeter before I go ahead and order this, but I can imagine if the USB is 500mAH or less, that's exactly why I am having this issue.
I'll post more info tonight or tomorrow.

I got a Scosche portable battery charger. It came with a special usb adapter that fools the Note into high current charge mode (960mah). Unless pins 2 and 3 are shorted, the Note will not accept more than 500 mah from even a 2.1 A usb port.
You can modify a usb cable to do this but I use the Scosche adapter that came with my battery 5000 mah to charge Galaxy TABs.
If it supports the Galaxy TAB, I presume that it will support the Note.

Higher capacity battery

This is the stock battery, EP500 Li-Polymer 1200mAh
Code:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/accessories/overview/ep500
No memory effect, can charge anytime, full charge obtained on around 3 hours via PC USB port.
Compatibility : Vivaz, Vivaz pro, Xperia mini/pro, Xperia X8
This is the best choice I can find on an alternative battery, claimed to be 2430mAh.
Code:
http://cgi.ebay.com/130561150352
Double the capacity, which I believe should at least provide more juice. Planning to buy, but I suppose since most phones we have are new, we better see what the fully optimal EP500 can do first.
Any other choice and experiences, let us know.
---
UPDATE : Based on feedbacks of that battery brand, its highly possible that higher capacity battery is not really accurate. There is no direct feedback on the EP500 replica model though, that remains to be found out. In my opinion, for best case, its high chance its just like the stock battery performance.
---
For my personal use, I bought an Energizer AP650.

Energizer AP650MC Output : DC5V--700mA
On AP650 fully charged (charging LED off) plugged on an off SK17i (died to lack of batt), it will take around 25 mins to drain the AP650 into the SK17i while its turned on, standby idle.
SK17i was able to get 28% charge. From this data, I can say the AP650 can charge the SK17i at the rate of 1% per minute for max of 28 minutes. This means the whole charge of the AP650 can bump the standby (idle) time for at least 12 hours.
I will add more data when I find something of value. Will take actual picture with the phone also.
update: i changed phone already, went back to xperia arc but still sometimes use the energizer.
the alternative battery, is it still have same size with the stock battery ?
from the picture it looks like the same size, else they should provide a new back cover.
Mugenpowerbattery
As it is the same battery like in the SE x8, i suggest to try out this one from Mugenpower:
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...nded-battery-for-sony-ericsson-xperia-x8.html
But you only gain +100 mah.
I tried a battery from Mugenpower on my older phone and the quality is good.
But for that price I don't think I am going to buy this one only to gain a little bit more power.
That is a little steep for me. In the 20 range is find but in the 40's for 100 mah more just won't do.
I was looking also on ebay at the 2000 something mah but could you really fit that power capacity in same size battery? Please post any feeds if tested

so.. anyone has tried it ?
i'm really interested on 2430mAh
i hope the written specs will not lie
Once I begin to feel the itch for the need of longer life I will buy that. But so far for now, I still need to get the feel of the stock batt so we'll have better comparison when time comes. Unless someone here really buys ahead :$

Packing almost more than the double mAh in the same size seems pretty unrealistic. I think its fake.
I mostly fear that it could damage my phone. Have read that cheap batteries can explode or damage the phone and I have this phone only for a week now and would like to keep it though.
Sent from my SK17i using XDA App
I had the same thoughts and reservations. But not really to the point that it damages and explodes. Its the authenticity of the claimed capacity is the question.

i agree, you would be shooting in the dark when purchasing this but someone could make the 1st step.
we can see if our battery performance increase over time or i propose donating to the cause, to a credible member and buy one to test it out. just a thought
I'm willing to buy, try and inform you all. Let me settle with the stock batt first if I would need higher capacity, unless someone here buys before me. I would think the capacity may not be necessarily true, but since its double capacity then perhaps we get at least 50% of what it offers right (ie. 25% more juice) compared to stock battery in its worst case, and in that case even it may be acceptable for the price point?
my feel : it seems after some days of getting the hang of the phone battery life, it looks like if doing nothing with the phone at all sit it standby, it easily reaches 2 days of life and can even go for a few hours more but i doubt it will reach 3 days. however, once normally using the phone like browsing wifi, tinkering, etc. it definitely can only max out in less than 2 days. if doing more browsing and use calls, 3G, in one day or less it likely will finish the charge. if straight wifi internet browsing, i doubt this will reach 7 hours max.
perhaps need more cycle charging as phone barely a week old. any other experiences?
Hello guys, i asked mugenpower if they would make a higher capacity battery for the Xperia Mini Pro.
They said that there wont be a battery for the Xperia Mini Pro in the near Future and we have to Stick with the 1300 mAh they are offering for the x8.
Sent from my SK17i using XDA App
From my latest feel on the stock battery, upon regular use it will only really last 2 days tops. If used a bit more say browsing over wifi, video watching, calling, browsing over 3G, then it would only last like only ~42 hours.
However, I am thinking about an another alternative to the higher capacity battery in question on the first post, yes it is cheap but it is highly likely that it is an impossibility to fit into the size even 50% additional more power into the battery of the same size. Therefore high chance it is fake.
The other alternative I think is just get usual USB portable chargers, the likes of Energizer XPAL. I also noticed the phone charges really fast (ie. 2+ hrs) due to the small battery, so perhaps useful to have it charge even in your bag while commuting hmm?
The phone is compact enough, so bringing an an additional power which can also serve the purpose for other gadgets as well may be an option.
What do you think?
I personally would use the portable charger. I've had horrible experiences with fake batteries, most of the time they don't even last half as long as the OEMs.
Stop, don't buy the 'gold' battery from that seller!
The capacities are fake, I got ripped off myself, the batteries are just normal capacity clones. Look carefully at the negative feedback.
Thanks paul-home. Yes I thoroughly read the feedbacks but the reason I posted that item cos its the only higher capacity batt available. I will edit the 1st post to put a disclaimer.
Anyway, what I am trying to do is just maximize the stock batt, I noticed it lasted really longer when I let it sit on the charger even if it is 100%. The battery status stays at 100% for 6 hours when left on standby. In any case, I am firming my investigation and will recalibrate the battery stats on phone and see how it really goes.
Added data about the Energizer AP650 extended microUSB portable charger on the first post.
Too bad it is fake.
I could use more juice cause i have the wi-fi turned on 24/7.
Would be cool if they made a higher capacity that has the battery and back cover all in one
Like this
http://cdn.androidcentral.com/sites...b_550_htc-thundertbolt-extended-battery-1.JPG
For the mini pro.
It would also make the phone even thicker
Sent from my SK17i using XDA App
I really like the battery for this. Charges up really quick and lasts (for me) the full day. I think a better alternative to buying a higher-capacity battery would be to just buy a second official battery and keep it in your watch pocket (the little pocket on the front-right of your jeans) in case of emergencies.

Deenybird's ATT GS2 battery experience + recommendations

I've loved my Galaxy SII right from day 1, but the phone's battery life has made it a complicated relationship.... I'm hoping to share my experience as a heavy user and how i'm dealing with the battery.
My usage:
I would fall into the 'power user' category. I'm rooted, on stock 2.3.4 (the update to 2.3.6 was pushed to my phone, but obviously failed). I'm often streaming audio podcasts, using Waze (a social gps program), and checking twitter and online forums and the occasional email or text. Bit of youtube in there as well. Bluetooth is on 10% of the time, wifi always, screen 1 notch below max brightness, no 'fetching' widgets.
My last phone, the iphone 4 had better battery life, but not incredibly so. During heavy use I would get ~6 hours. Standby was closer to 20 hours. I still had to charge at some point during the day, but it's different with the GS2.
Let's take a look at the Battery Usage in Settings....

With 4 and a half hours of usage, i'm down to 13%. That means I'm up at 8:00AM, and by 1:00PM my phone is dead. It would almost be hilarious if it wasn't so sad... Charging has become a critical part of my daily routine. I'm using an external battery pack (more info below) and charge off a wall socket
Solution so far:
I've been using the Energizer XPAL4001, a 4000mah external battery for $58.00.
The thing is great, and I obviously wouldn't make it a full day without it. However it's a hassle to have to lug it around which is why i'm considering getting the extended battery which I was hoping to avoid by getting the external. But it looks like I do need both solutions.
Solutions I'm considering:
I'm about to pull the trigger on a3500mAh Extended Battery + Cover off of ebay. It's going for $11.00 with free shipping, so the price is certainly right.
What do you guys recommend? Has anyone tried the battery I'm looking at? It doesn't have NFC, but it's $11. I'd love to hear from other power users and how they're dealing with things.
PS. Still love my GS2
I'd recommend using your phone less!!
Try an i9100 rom, much better battery life.
You are expecting too much if you want it to last all day long with that much usage.
Doesn't look like your phone went into deep sleep not once.
Try flashing UnNamed 1.3.2 or 2.2.1 and a custom kernal and use SetCPU to lower clocks/volts.
This should help you in increasing the battery life a little more.

It would be helpful to know how much screen time you are getting. You can access this by clicking "Display" in the screens you have posted above. Your battery is dying incredibly quickly. If your screen time is less than 2.5 hours you may have a rogue app that is running up your cpu. Use CPU Spy and better battery stats to help diagnose.
Sounds like you are such a power user that you might want to consider one of the 3500mah batteries. If you don't mind the size that is. Search the accessories forum to make sure you order the right brand as some cause boot loops. You will also lose NFC.
Good luck!

This is what I have for today with better battery stats.
/\ were you using the GPS? I was for most of my 4 hours of life.
what were you doing with your 2 hour 26 min of screen on time?
Hmmmm, 3 hours of screen on time sounds about right for the battery life you are experiencing. As far as that particular battery, I'm not sure... I would play it safe and purchase one people are linking to in some of the threads that are confirmed as working. The other thing you have to consider is cover fit- which is another reason to go with one people have posted experience with in one of the "Accessories" threads.
BTW: Not sure but the Waze app may be utlize GPS in a way that it consumes more battery than it posts in your battery usage. Not sure though.
Also, are you leaving the screen on unnecessarily, like while listening to a podcast. That's a pretty intense amount of screen usage for such a short period.
Let me know what you decide
Just for Reference
Here's my usage with the 2000mah Korean Battery.
Screen is off during podcasts, on during GPS. Waze affects my battery about as much as the google Maps/Navigation app.
As for the battery, I've heard others buying batteries that have been $50 and up, I could buy 4 of the ones i'm looking at for that price.
Someone out there must have tried this battery before.... I'd like to hear what they say first.

I use gps for about a minute today. Most of my screen on time is messaging web surfing facebook and twitter
Was your screen at max brightness or autobrightness? Autobrightness tends to set the screen way too bright.
After all, your battery history indicates 74% of the usage was display - so I think you may just have the brightness way up.
Full brightness + GPS + CPU usage is brutal on the battery, that brings total current consumption to somewhere around 650 mA. (On the Infuse, the battery would slowly discharge with a 600 mA charger at fullbright + GPS. The GSII just barely keeps ahead with 650 mA charge current.)
I'm getting between 26-32 hrs with the config in my sig.

Alot of good advice in this thread! I highlighted above what I think is killing your battery. Go with a debloated stock like ROM, research a bit on cpu schedulers and go with a conservative one, turn the brightness down and you will be on your way to duplicating your battery life. ;
Use Siyah kernel and the Thunderbolt (TB) script. They'll do wonders for your battery. As for brightness use auto or half way. We're lucky to have such boss screen with crazy brightness. anything above 70% hurts my eyes in doors lol. Auto should be 90% effective for your day to day use. Also try to avoid apps that sync or fetch data constantly and set things to push or to auto-update every 3-6hrs instead of 15min-1hr. Those murder ur battery.

I do not have the test results yet from Battery Monitor Widget, because I don't really know how to do a full MAh test. Maybe someone can enlighten me on this.
Through everyday use however, it does seem to give me an extra 10-15% on the battery (which is around one hour for me).
For those who are interested, order it from this Ebayer:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/270942481442?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Ps. The Charger is SLOW though, I usually use it on the other batteries overnight.
Have you had a chance to get numbers from battery widget?
Jamie
I get about 4.5 to 5 hours screen time consistenly with this. The stock gave me about 3.5 to 4 hours.

I have this one and t he 3080 one. Both work ok- not much more lasting than stock. I get 35% by end of the day remaining with moderate use, push email, 10 widgets, and 14 alarms.
I have the 3000mah version from these guys and these are just 2500mah batteries repackaged. I thought that I was getting more battery life too at first, that's mostly because you are trying to justify the purchase subconsciously, but they aren't any bigger and are actually lighter than the stock battery
They do seem like good quality batteries, just not any longer lasting than stock unfortunately.
If it were possible to get a longer lasting battery in this phone that was the same size as the 2500mah one you can be assured Samsung would be selling it as an accessory for $50, people would gladly pay for it... Samsung wouldn't miss out on making extra money on accessories...

If it truly is a larger battery then it should take at least 30 minutes longer (using the 1 amp wall charger) to charge from dead to full.... But I found that my charge times didn't change any appreciable amount, so the capacity isn't any different...
Here is some times taken when i first received the battery.

I don't know of this 3000 mAH battery that you are talking about, but I peeled the covering sticker from the Gold battery in the OP, and it doesn't have any markings indicating the capacity.

No not yet, haven't found the procedure to measure actual mAH in the battery yet. I have tried charging to 100% and draining it to 1%, but it doesn't show the information automatically.
so its not really 3030mah ?????????? thats been proven?

It doesn't take any longer to charge from empty than the stock battery does, so Its not any larger. My charge times were within 10 minutes of each other when comparing to stock.
Ebay batteries that are the exact same dimensions as stock but claim to deliver more capacity than the stock battery are pretty much always lying about capacity. Its all marketing. If the battery was heavier than stock I might say it could deliver more capacity, but they are usually lighter.
There is an app on the market called battery drain...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...fender&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
Be careful using this, it will drain the battery VERY fast, potentially heating up the battery to beyond safe temparatures. DONT SELECT EVERY OPTION!!!
Here are the options you can select to have it do all at once.
-Turns on Permanent Vibration
-Enables Wifi Send Data
-Constantly Max Loads CPU
-Sets Screen Brightness to Maximum
-Enables GPS Location Services and Constantly asks Device to Refresh Position
-Turns on Camera Flash
-Turns on Bluetooth and Constantly Scans for New Devices
I would also grab battery monitor widget pro by 3C (the paid version is $4) or another battery app that has detailed logging.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ult#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNjYzcxLmJtdy5wcm8iXQ..
Consistency is the key, what I would do is power down the phone and let the battery completely charge (use the volume rockers to turn the screen occasionally to see the battery charge level, its fully charged when there is a 100% shown inside the green battery).
Set the battery logging app and the battery drain apps either on the lockscreen if you have something like widget locker or set them on the first homescreen that appears on an initial boot so you can access them quickly.
Then unplug the phone, note the current time (open the clock on your PC for seconds), power the phone up, wait a set amount of time (say 1 minute from when you initially turn the phone on) and launch the battery drain app, turn on maybe 4-5 of the options (dont use all of them, you dont want to damage the battery), say max screen brightness, camera flash, wifi, bluetooth, & GPS and wait til the battery dies and note the time when it dies (shouldnt take more than 1 hour).
You can test each battery this way (make sure you pick the same options in the battery drain app) and if you have an app doing battery logging, you can pull up the stats after the phone dies and you plug in the charger to reboot it.
Its also key that nothing changes (dont install any new apps or remove any apps) between testing. What most testers do is factory reset the phone, leave all the settings at stock and install only the apps they need for testing. This might be a bit extreme, the key tho is to have consistency.
Using both batteries and testing them in this fashion would give more information rather than anecdotal. However, I can understand that it is a time consuming process.

Battery Life!

I first had an incredible, now a rezound, and want to move on to the DNA. I was wondering how the battery life is treating those who have it. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I've had the phone for 2 days now. I consider myself a moderate user - especially during work. Today I had bluetooth and location services off, streamed for a bit, surfed the internet, and did a heavy dose of texting and downloading apps all through 4G (no wifi @ work). The battery lasted me roughly 14 hour due to the usage of it only in spurts. For reference I got into work at 8 and left at 5:30 with 45% battery life left. I then used it only a little the rest of the evening.
However, yesterday was Thanksgiving so I was on it most of the day, and it needed to be juiced up around 9 hours with all the bells and whistles on (phone wasn't on auto bright, etc).
If you are a light - moderate user and do a little application maintenance I can see this phone easily lasting 16-20 hours. When the phone is off it SIPS the battery.
If you lean towards the heavy side then it will need a charge closer to 7-8 hours. I come from a Thunderbolt for reference and this obliterates it. To sum it all up, the battery is better than I thought it would be. The key is to kill services you don't use. We will have to see how it fares when I am in NYC for work with no access to a charger. I'm sure if I use it sporadically I could be fine for an entire day.
Hope this helps.
I hope these screenshots help!
~5 hours on airplane mode.
~6hrs on LTE
Rest is wifi.
Not a super heavy user, but so far i am impressed.
Under 30%, the battery drops so fast! Dont count on 30% to give you anything useful...An afternoon of light texting will probably kill it.
My battery only charges to 99% -- has anyone else seen this? Will my phone keep trying to charge it, and therefore wear out the battery?
Will a QI pad just constantly charge, instead of stopping once its 100%?

thank you all for the responses! I am hesitating on purchasing this phone due to the battery. I feel like it should have been a 3000mAH. I am a heavy user. On 4G a lot. so yeah
Battery is a lot better than I thought it would be. Really impressed with this device!

Guys you need to be honest with yourselves here, anyone can do everything possible to get the most out of their battery (heck I got 3 days out of a Droid 1 before), but in real world use you'll be lucky to make it through the day if you use your phone a lot. If you're a light/moderate user you will be fine from morning until night, but if you tend to use your phone for hours expect to charge it during the day.
that seems better than the s3

Yeah I'm with most of the guys here - battery life has been great. It beats the brakes out of my GNEX. This is a very efficient phone.
I am getting this phone and an Anker Astro charger, according to these posts I'm more than likely not going to need that charger, lol
9 hours is sick coming from my Droid 1

I am being very honest with myself. So far, I am getting more battery life than a Galaxy Nexus with extended battery. I hit an easy 3.5 hour screen time yesterday.
Playing games.
Watching netflix
Streaming Pandora to BT for 2 hours.
Streaming Google Play music for 2 hours (headphones)
Playing with settings
Making calls
Texting
MMS
Browsing Internet
Youtube
Half of my time was on LTE and the rest on WiFi. I took it off the charger at 7:30am and it got down to 12% before I put it on the charger at 10:30PM.
My Gnex with the same use would have been completely dead by 3:00pm and only if completely on WiFi.
My usage hasn't become less since I used DNA...if anything it increased due to me setting it up and playing with it. So I really, really doubt I am kidding myself.
I came from the GNex as well. First day I had this device I had to go and work my 16 hour shift(3pm-7am). I always had my GNex plugged in by 7pm after my normal use of browsing, texting, games and such. I made it until around 10pm before I plugged it in, and that was just because it was at 40% and I wanted to top it off before my 2nd shift. Went back to 100% and used it until about 430am when I stopped playing around and read a book on my Kindle. Used my phone as an alarm for every 30 minutes and I didn't plug it back in until I got into my car for the drive home. I've never been happier with a stock device.
I just got this phone. I have a GS3 as a reference for battery life. If I can get three hours of screen time out of it, I will be a very happy camper. I guess it just goes to show you that when everything is working together in harmony and everything is power efficient, the size of the battery isn't nearly as important. Look at the iPhone, no matter how much you want to hate on it, they have been stick sub 1500 mah batteries in there forever, and they seem to last all day for the most part. I would have preferred to have a larger battery, but after reading the reviews this morning on it I was convinced to go out and pick one up. The screen is awesome, I'm really surprised that it doesn't drain more battery than it does.
I just made it to lunchtime without it going dead.
Dropped to 40% with some download ads, a few YouTube videos l, some Facebook and some music via blue tooth.
I had to plug it in a few hrs later when it dropped to 20%.
About as good as my Rezound with a 2800 mAh battery.
Pretty much nothing will last me all day with the data I use.

As long as @pnin believes in Old-school stuff, and he has made for us map for Guides index of poco x3 threads on XDA. I believe too that there is many users not knowing about The battery killer or To be more realistic "killers".
There Is Med-kit stuff you must follow to avoid bad battery life because:
Unhealthy battery = - performance & - life usage
Healthy battery = + performance & + life usage
So, I will set up to you tips that's makes your POCO X3 battery better.
I can be the science man and explain to you all the tips that I will mention it, but I won't just want to be easy on you and get you on the boat.
NOTE: This thread not tellings you how to optimize your rom for better SOT this about take care of your battery life.
As long as we have non-removable "Li-ion" battery, We need to:
1- low voltages is recommended for a battery’s lifespan, According to british university research, charging up your phone in that 30% to 80% range keeps the voltage lower and prolongs the battery lifespan.
2- Never play Games or watching videos while charging is bad because they distort charging cycles.
3- Try to not use your device while charging, and if you can turn it off while charging till get charged enough.
4,1- Don't ever makes your device temperature get higher because it's will kill your battery in long term. there is many ways to get your device temperature higher, such as: play while charging, put device on charging in hot place under pillow or whatever and using wrong bad kernel -_-...etc
4,2- It's recommend to take off your device case while charging, that's help to decrease temperature degree.

5- This device is not flagship device or has an expensive CPU & GPU, so stop playing heavy game with over 60 frame rate for hours ! this bad habit and will kills your battery in long term. when you feels your device get hot stop what you doing till temperature get normal.
6- If you are traveling or storing your device charge it to 80% and leave it switched off but not for more than 5~6 months. and for your knowledge you can store your device for 10 years and your battery can works after because the lithium-ion batteries shalf life 10~12 years.
7- Charge your device from to 100% once a month (UPDATE: NO NEED TO CHARGE FROM 0% TO 100 MONTHLY SINCE WE GO LI-PO BATTERY THIS ACTION ONLY FOR Nickel Cadmium batteries).
Now, maybe you asking "Can I get step back to get my bad battery healthy again ?"
Answer : half yes ! You can't restore the water you droped on sand but you can save the rest that left
Glad to tell me If I had missed something.
Thanks in advance.
regards
any charge limiter that can automatically shut of charging at 80% though the charger cable may stay connected longer period?

If I understood you, There is "smart charging" feature on some AOSP roms for poco x3 such as: Arrow os,Pixel extended,...etc
let your device when to stop charging and when to charge. It's really helpful for life spin.
I don't know if this feature same as Pixels phone that lower battery refresh rate or something common. Because there is no explain to how it's really works.

There are a couple of Magisk modules for that. YMMV.
Valuable Information thanks
From what I have read, a lower charging rate is also important because it prevents heating of the battery, which degrades it. We can achieve this by minimizing the number of times we use the 33W fast charger included in the box. A good C-rate value to charge our phones is 0.4C, in our case for a 5160mAh battery that is charging with a charger rated for 5V and 2A.

Thanks for this reach info. Yes it's important but you can't tell the people to replace what they paid for...
We can tell as you showed.
"Don't charge 3 or more times per day"
which I believe hardcore gamers that playing games all the time using they are 33 waat charger for more than 4 times a day.
which it's a killer habit for the battery indeed.
for a normal users one charge would be enough for a full-day.
I'm charging once a day and If I playing for more than 1 hour then day and half to charge.

No, charge as many times as you need, but limit the range from 30 to 80%.

What I meant that there is a lot of users ( Gamers ) whom always playing (always heating) which they are don't care about temperature and charging a lot per a day will make heating most the time and will end the cycle life as soon as possible .
anyway it's not hard it easy steps and advices.
