Samsung releases Kernel source for ICS Galaxy SII - Galaxy S II Android Development

I'm a bit reluctant to post it here but i hope this is the correct section. If it ain't correct then close this thread please.
Samsung has posted their sourcecode for the Galaxy S2 (ICS) at their opensource site: (https) opensource.samsung.com/index.jsp
Just narrow down the results by typing 'gt-i9100' in the searchbar and GT-I9100_ICS_Opensource_Update4.zip will be displayed.
I'll hope this will be useful for all the devs out here.

This is the wrong thread. Its supposed to be in the General section if I am not mistaken.
Great news though.

I have downloaded it and checked it: it's there. Can't verify if it builds properly because i'm not at home at the moment.

Source Link:

This is not development.
There is a thread already in General discussing this news.
Thanks

cm9 changelogs

I know that all the websites that aggregate the changelogs get it from somewhere. Where can I find a changelog for the nightlies? I'd like the know the changes made to watch for bugs. BBQLog is slick but only has the international version right now.
This is the only site I was able to find related to the code changes, but it looks outdated. I see mention of a switch to a common kernel, so I'm not sure if that means I could follow the main site changelog or if it still has device specific changes????

Bookmarked. I thought it would be development since it was related to CM9 changelogs.
thanks!

Please post in the correct section.

[Q] Is Jelly Beans 4.2 available for i9100 (international) ?

I have 4.1.2 JB CM10 nightly builds on my i9100. Just curious if 4.2 (like nexus 4) rom is available for i9100 ?
Yes it is. Keep looking.

Keep looking. Don't stop looking until you find it.
..
Wouldn't google have to release the aosp rom first for anyone to actually get down to compiling?

What do you mean by "keep looking" ?...I am looking and trying to find it (its not that I am not trying)...searched the xda forum and ROM index....but couldn't find it that's why posted a question here...
what's the point of looking when things aren't available ? For example: Just like...what's the point of searching for ipad 10 when it is not available yet ?...so its better to directly ask the community developers...which I am doing in this topic..
I google the iPad10. I conclude there is no iPad10. I don't write a letter to Amazon asking why they don't stock the iPad10.
Crisis and useless thread averted.
well I am sorry ...I wasn't trying to be rude or something...I was just trying to make a point..All I was saying is that I am trying and tried searching for it and when I couldn't find it I thought about asking as a question here.. that's all.. since 4.2 is out with LG Nexus 4.. so just curious when it will be available for i9100..
It's okay, I forgive you, I only hit them so they'll change... I'm not a bad person... I only try to help them... I'm always sorry after I hit her.... I always cry... I'm sorry I only want to help... It's not really me... I'm sorry....

every custom rom user of i9100 is waiting for the same ma8, so have some patience for now, since we cant expect any 'ETA' from developers

Come on man, hasn't it been enough now? Stop asking and first read if you want to know answers to your questions that are asked by (too) many people by now.
Come on dude , just check Sammobile.com for latest firmware releases as soon as 4.2 will be officially released for i9100 , custom roms will be developed too .. so have patience and stop asking for update as none of us will release it , only samsung will and when they will release the update for i9100 , everyone will come to know , even you
If it`s going to be available it`s going to be one of the hottest threads on the SII Forum on XDA like the CM10 Thread is now.
I suggest you follow codeworkx and other Exynos device maintainers on Google+
This is what codeworkx had to say today about the I9100 and Android 4.2:
https://plus.google.com/111398485184813224730/posts/gGt8UfDpX31
From last message I don't understand about 4.2, we can't testing on our i9100 ? And support 9100 in 4.2 will be or not? Google is working on last Android ROM - version 5.0. Can we really hope, that's our 9100 is support too in future?

That's the whole point why questions like 'Will it be available?' are useless and anoying. If so, then you will notice in the development section. If not, then there's no need to ask because otherwise you would know from a bit reading and searching.

[ROM LINK] Moto X 2013 gets Android 5.1 update via CyanogenMod 12.1 ROM

I don't know if I am allowed to post this link in here since I'm not personally providing the ROM. I don't know if this should be in General.

thanks for the tip, but this can probably be closed now.

Thanks. For some reason my work PC wouldn't open the link so I thought that it could have gone to the Cyanogenmod webpage. The story made it sound more official than the unofficial build.
Yeah this can be deleted then.

As the kernel is gpl and kernel you hand out has to have the source code available upon request. So doing things this way is just asking for trouble.

Actually, it doesn't matter where your thread is located, if you're providing a kernel or ROM you must provide source. It's non-negotiable. You have source here so it isn't an issue, but just clearing that up for you.

What is your source?
There is already a thread open in General a thread here is pointless at the moment.
Where did you found it??
Does it boot??
If it doesn't this thread is useless
It doesn't boot, so yeah it's pointless and considering the op isn't even the developer...
This thread falls under what is called "Placeholder Thread". If you have a valid download link, let me know and I will reopen the thread. In the mean time, thread closed.
Also since you are not the Original Developer, the thread belongs in General Forum not in OD.
