Scramble with friends - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Screen gives me problems
How does it work for yall

same here, we'll have to wait till an update is out for us
it's still playable though

Yeah it's playable, but trying to click letters fast does strange things, causing missing letters, so i have to start again
Like sometimes I'll click 3 letters then I'll auto accept the word, like aren't you supposed to click the checkmark manually?
Was wondering if this was just a note problem because the whole game screen doesn't scale right on the note

Update out on Play. UI compatibility with GNOTE fixed. Enjoy!
EDIT: It still makes my phone lag like CRAZY, off to the trash can goes this app once more.

yeh, messes up the sound sometimes too

The app puts a strain on the battery too.

Screen sensitivity change after ICS?

Has anyone noticed a change in how the touchscreen behaves after installing ICS?
It seems to me that it is biased a little more towards interpreting a touch as swipe or scroll rather than select. For example clicking links in a webpage or tapping icons on the homescreen seem to require a much more deliberate effort to select/open. It's not awful, but I would like to be able to bias it back a little more to selecting rather than swiping.
Is there a setting for this anywhere or an app available that allows adjustment?
I would to know too.. I hate this..
But it's not just from latest ICS 4.0.3 International, the Beta version also suffer same thing.
Is HC not like this? (I upgraded to 4.0.3 Beta as soon as after bought Mediapad )
Yes, I noticed it also. When you turn on Settings - Developer options - Pointer location, it clearly shows how your clicks/dots becomes swipes/lines.
yes, you're right.. it sometime (most time ) cause texting experience not so fluid (letter not appear as it's detected as swipe not click).
got the same thing.. i've changed the launcher, so with the Apex launcher it's not that bad in the homescreens.. when i enabled the option to show "pointer location" i can see the "tap" as a line, or a "swipe" line :\
tried the same on my Galaxy S, and all the "taps" are only a small point.. it's much better than on the MediaPad.. i hope it's just a software issue and it can be solved..
maybe, we could try something like "screen booster" or "touchscreen booster" from the Market (Play)
Erratic screen while charging
The other thing I've noticed after ICS international is that the touchscreen is now erratic while charging and in a case. I believe this is a common problem with capacitive touchscreens, but hadn't noticed it until after flashing ICS. It is not an issue if I remove the pad from the case and hold it in my hand.
Anyone else seen this?
This sensitive touchscreen isn't Angry Birds friendly. Constantly shakes a little bit.
soooo.....is there any solutions?

Improvements:
- Mini apps - Use some apps on top of your other running apps.
- Place apps in a folder on your home screen.
- Take screen capture.
- Theme is much more smoother.
- Slide notifications to remove.
- Improved settings menu.
- Cradle option "Choose action" when when you place your tab in dock"
- On lockscreen chose between unclock and use camera.
- Camera is optimized.
- Disabling built-in apps |Hogaburger|
- Google Chrome |Bojanglez|
- and some other little stuff.
Disadvantages:
- Screen flickering ( Sometimes )
- Can't personalize your app menu anymore.
- No face unlock ( but I don't care )
- Still a scratching sound while playing music (I think its a hardware prob.)
- And some more can't remember right now

Mahaco.
All of the above plus you can run Google Chrome.
The mini apps are really cool, Sony did a good job withn them.

I'd just like to say that the flickering and audio scratching aren't on every tab. Mine is perfect for audio, and the only flickering I get is for like a quarter of a second maybe 2 times per day... and that's only when launching a game or something so it's not like it happens while I'm in the middle of something.
Also, more advantages:
-the ability to slide to remove the recent apps (also clears from memory).
-Able to play files directly from SD card **PLUS** this works a million times better now!!! I was previously taking my tab with loads of episodes of family guy on it to work everyday. I was having constant problems with audio and video stuttering or even not starting at all. Now it just instantly loads and plays perfectly.
-keyboard input lag is gone (one of the best improvements in my opinion. I nearly destroyed the tab 100 times from trying to respond to emails and it taking forever)
I was actually going to buy the ASUS transformer prime as soon as it became available... but after this update I'll definitely be able to hold out for the next sony one now. I also love the calculator lol. I strangely find myself needing a calculator while I'm in the middle of an app ALL the time...but that's probably just me lol.

Yes thats correct the flickering doesnt happens that often and its not a problem for me i dont care and this tablet thats my opinion is not a good music player
And +1 for the your calculator info lol
its not just "smoother UI", thats really not doing it justice.... its night and day in terms of 'snappiness' and finally comes close to the fruit shop experience. ALso no more stupid homescreen crashing/reloading all the time
at least I'm going with what ICS did to my Tegra2 Atrix phone lol so expecting similar boost

yeah and have anyone notice the time difference when you turn the tablet on, its quite fast booting up but its not a big difference just like a small one..
expendable memory. I now have additional 32GB to store video, photo, and music to my 16GB tablet. and it works great! I rooted my tablet before to get this feature. now, it's there without root and it works even better!
native screen shot function!
Disabling built-in apps is a great feature too. Reallllly loving this Google Chrome beta. So long, stock browser.
ICS Nyandroid (Easter Egg)
Go into Settings, About Tablet, then repeatedly tap on Android Version and eventually a mini Nyandroid will appear.

Although Mahaco's right that this probably isn't the best place for this, this easter egg has been in Android since roughly 2.1 (I think) with new artwork for each version. HC gave you the HC Bee (with a BZZZZZZZ... Toast), Gingerbread gave you a weird Gingerbread Man Zombie painting by an Artist (whose name is in the Toast). This can actually be swapped since it's located somewhere (I've forgotten where) in the framework-res.
Also, for those wondering about the "smoother UI", it is a whole level better since the Android System is now Hardware Accelerated in official ICS updates. This means the UI is able to fully leverage the power of the ULP GeForce graphics chip in the Sony.

question and observations

question and observationsstion part:
1. Has anyone noticed a white washed effect one their prime every so often? I am having this issue where reading something in black/white, the letters seems to be washed out and the white over powers the black text line definition so it becomes a white blurish effect.
1a. I have also noticed my led display has this "oil spill" under the glass somewhere in the upper middle area. A little minor grab of the prime on certain corners moves and reshapes this "oil spill". Does this have anything to do with #1?
Observation:
Not a super tech junkie but is there some sort of a memory leak in the ROM? I have noticed the reboot happens when the Asus task manager craps out and when ics+ browser is handling some open tabs with at least one tab with a video playing. I may be completely off here but that's just my observation. It seems the prime slows to a crawl with a few apps open and it speeds up when i close them but then it reboots when I reopen the same apps (mostly ics+ and maybe maps and translator and opera). I am going to stop using ics+ and use opera and see if it does this. I am also using dolphin so I'll be switching around however I am wonder if anyone has found a rhythm or rhyme to the rebooting issues.
Thanks!
Well the reboot thing isn't new,but you know there is a limit of available memory so if you're like me, opening closing apps like crazy and complaining about when one of them eventually crash you're just rising the pole. I use system panel to track how the device is doing and if in need of something to do to it.
I've had the wash out effect happen when you hold it on certain angles. I posted a thread about it not too long ago because I noticed my TF101 didnt do this. So I had asked some people who had them both to compare. The last post in the thread the poster noticed it as well.

Anyone noticed any screen tearing issues

I've only noticed this since about a week.
Its most prominent when I'm in text based apps - Pulse/Verge/Kindle - with a lot of white background.
To describe it - its like a 3mm thick 'glitch', appears for hardly a few milliseconds - just enough to be noticeable.
Its always along the length of the device, and does not matter what orientation I'm holding it in.
I felt it happened more often with auto-brightness but that feeling may just be a dud.
The recurrence is quite random, but I can easily see it if I stare at the screen for even a minute.
Finally I've never noticed it in games or on home screens - not sure if thats just because I miss it in those or otherwise..
I noticed this yesterday for the first time when reading some text. It was very distracting, hoping it was a fluke deal.
Seconding this. I don't have auto-brightness, but I notice it. Definitely happens when reading text with a white background - so get it pretty often in RSS readers, rarely in gmail, and never in games / movies.
Thanks for the replies..
I also noticed this never happens in gmail or currents. Looks like Google-supplied apps run fine...
This leads me to believe that these other apps are doing something wrong, maybe overflowing buffers due to the massive resolution as someone else projected in another thread...
Have you guys played with either the "Disable HW Overlays" or "Force GPU rendering" settings to see if they impact this issue one way or another?

I second this idea.. please try and report the results.
Since my last soft-reboot, I've yet to see ant tearing. However I'll try those options if I see it happening again. Thanks for the suggestions. Maybe some of the others seeing this can try those tweaks?
Happens to me no matter what app I'm running and has been happening since I got my nexus. Even just happened in the app drawer. I will check the force gpu settings and get back to you.

Force GPU rendering changed nothing for me. Still got the screen tearing. I'm going to try the Disable HW overlays for a while now.

what dialer do you use?

I find the stock dialer on the Z2 super annoying. it's slow and laggy. If i tilt the phone just a little bit it decides to go into the super useful (NOT) landscape mode, often causing me to hit the wrong key. I'm sure there are other things pissing me off about this but can't think of any right now.
I'd like to learn if other people have the same annoyances and if you've done anything about it, i.e. replace the dialer with something else.
thanks
i oddly dont find my self across this problem
i use stock, CM11 and CM12
i usualy use stock which i dont have problems with

One issue I have (not sure if its a Sony thing or Android) is when I move the phone away from my ear to use the dial pad and its so unresponsive, especially annoying when the call is one of those automated voice machine things and they tell you to press 2 or something, either the screen is slow turning back on the button takes forever to press
