Same issue... anyone ?
I hope you flashed it with a CWM or else this is what likely happens.

I did flash with cwm but what does that have to do with it ?
Usually flashing a kernel without CWM tends to screw up some factors of the ROM, but seems many are complaining about the issue atm about rotation,
I have the p4 edition for the 7500, What model is yours?
I first had Task 14 and thought it might've been the Tom so i went to CM9 and nope still have it ...

If you have your stuff backed up via TitaniumBackup then best would be via device as some devblock's can only be erased within the phone menu

Are you using the OFFICIAL Nightly or an UNOFFICIAL.
If you watch the video, you see that mine is 4.0.4.
I can't wait to give this a shot. Been on the official CM9 for a whiles. Seems like progress is at a standstill with official releases.

This build removed the WIFI issues that I had at work. W00t!
Have you ever used CWM Manager to go to CWM instead of the reboot menu?
It saves a couple of steps.

I did the same thing, but the unofficial is still 4.0.3 whereas the Official for March 29th is 4.0.4, so I will be switching to official builds now
Hi Rev. Have you heard of the "GooManager" app? It actually is a one-stop shop for unofficial, official and gapps files. If you want I can send you the apk to check out.

I flashed this nightly but my notifications are messed up. When I have a notification in the bottom right corner, it just shows a blurry white box in place of the actual notification. I went back to Alpha 2 and this problem is not there. I'll stick to Alpha 2 for now unless there's a way to fix that.

Are you running any type of additional video drivers, such as Chainfire?
If so, you may need to reinstall them.
Or... it may be time to do a factory reset in Clockwork Recovery.

Nothing extra like that installed. I did do a factory reset in recovery but it still didn't fix that issue. Don't know what's causing it. Might try one time after I do a backup in recovery. Last time I forgot that I didn't have a backup :-\ .

Hello -
I have browsed through countless threads and obviously overlooking something for a successful root.
I was able to root using option #3 in the following thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1285894. All went without issue and I see the SuperUser application on the phone.
However, I cannot get into Clockwork. Holding the power buttons and power button only takes me in the typical Android reset menu.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
You don't have rom manager installed hopefully. If not, you simply power your phone off , hold down volume up down and power until it reboots KEEP holding it it may flash the boot logo more than once then it should take you into clock work mod recovery. Also keep in mind you need a custom kernel to have clockwork mod recovery installed, as our kernels have recovery built in.

Thanks for the assistance. No --- I do not have ROM Manager installed. The button sequence only takes me into the typical Android menu that has four options. Going from memory: Reboot, apply update.zip, factory reset, clear cache. It's not the Clockwork menu...I'm familiar with it.
I guess that means that the following link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1285894 only roots the phone and I need to apply a custom kernel. If so, do I have to find a custom kernel and apply through ODIN since I cannot flash through Clockwork? If so, can you give me a link on how to do this?
Thanks.

You just installed the stock kernel with stock 3e recovery. You now need to install a custom kernel. Go to this thread, which is the full directions for rooting and installing a ClockworkMod Recovery enabled kernel.
Also since you're rooted, you can flash kernels with mobile Odin if ya want, it's on the Android market. Is free to flash roms gotta pay for it to flash kernels and stuff but it's well worth it in my opinion.

This. It's definitely the best way.
Thanks to everyone. I was missing the step of flashing a kernel with Clockwork mod. I did purchase mobile ODIN Pro and now able to access the menu to flash. I was used to the 1-click one stop shop utility under the Galaxy Nexus.

So I was on the latest MIUI, and flashed Dream Kernel. That went fine, I rebooted, then tried to flash CM 9.0.1 via CWM, and the phone shut off, but never booted back up. Now it won't boot at all, in any mode. It doesn't respond when I put it on the charger either. The screen dimly flashes occasionally if it's getting power from the charger or the battery.
Any ideas? :x
Have you tried plugging the phone into the charger without the battery, then put the battery in a bit later?

Well I had a similar issue sometime ago with my phone. What I did was plugged phone to PC an flashed stock ROM Via Odin. It worked for me twice Odin was still able to connect to What I 777. Found stock ROM in the general forms in Xda after I did that connected to Kies an Installed official ROM for I777. Took some time but I recovered phone twice hope it work for U too..

You said the phone shut off after u tried installing the latest cm9. But never booted back up. That tells me you tried to.install it using rom manager app. Which everyone here knows not to use. I appreciate your positive attitude and that this whole thread u have been nice and respectful. So ill fill ya in bud our phones aren't like most. Our kernels come with the recovery built into it. (CWM). So whenever u flash a kernel, you're also flashing a recovery too.

Guys,
i have a Gnex and can tell you thats just how recovery looks...
Nothing to be worried about.
On Gnex we have Andy with the triangle and have to hold down volume buttons to get the options to appear... Dont know if you guys already have the options or just a blank screen with dead Andy.
If you have no options try a few key combos and they will appear
dont worry nothings broken.

You must have changed something, try to recall what did you do during ROM change process. All problems are a result of change or series of changes. That's why we have Change Management in the managing of IT systems.
